  1. Just a personal preference really. I do realise you pay more for the compatibility of a 14" but I've used15.6" screens for years and I feel they're too bulky and would prefer a 14".
  2. Hi guys, I am all set to purchase a 14" laptop and have narrowed it down to these two options. https://www.did.ie/asus-14-amd-ryzen-7-16gb-512gb-laptop-eclipse-gray-ga401iuhe001t-ga401iuhe001t-prd?gclid=Cj0KCQiAnb79BRDgARIsAOVbhRqbpP8AX5759iHbEJ_Omm9suJB0YDZXNc-Z7nhnhVbbe6yt8CbvKsYaAjEpEALw_wcB#fo_c=1898&fo_k=ea1c61729f24b1bf192cc8f0f7d1f29e&fo_s=gplaie https://www.currys.ie/ieen/computing/laptops/laptops/asus-rog-zephyrus-g14-14-gaming-laptop-amd-ryzen-9-rtx-2060-1-tb-ssd-10205673-pdt.html I plan to use it mainly for FM gaming, some programming, and web browsing.
  3. https://www.box.co.uk/ASUS-ROG-Zephyrus-G14-GA401IV-HA120T-(LE_2894744.html#DetailTop I've seen box.co.uk linked a few times here. I will be getting it delivered to Ireland so just wondering if anyone on here has had any experiences with this?
  4. Thanks for the response. This is the laptop I currently have and I have been using it since 2013 with no problems (except it has slowed down a bit but this probably bound to happen at some stage). https://www.cnet.com/products/lenovo-ideapad-z500-5931-15-6-core-i5-3230m-windows-8-6-gb-ram-1-tb-hdd-series/ I am interested in the 'soldered' part as I have no clue as to what it means. Would 8gb ram still be sufficient?
  5. Think I may have found the laptop I was looking for. https://www.elara.ie/productdetail.aspx?mancode=GA401IU-HE017T&manufacturer=ASUSTEK&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIntLamNTG7AIViKztCh0aKQDcEAQYDCABEgI79_D_BwE I've looked around for a 13"-14" screen but this seems to be the best I can find. Open to recommendations from elsewhere
  6. Thanks for the suggestions and responses, they're very much appreciated. I am keen on getting a 13", 13.3" for convenience. https://www.dell.com/en-ie/shop/laptops-desktops-accessory-deals/xps-13/spd/xps-13-7390-laptop/cnx73904 Do you think this would be value for money at €1,400? And would you recommend it over a MacBook?
  7. Hi all, Currently looking to buy a new laptop as the one I have is nearing the end of it's tenure (not least due to the weight of the 15.6" screen). I am keen to get a Macbook, be it either Air or Pro, although Air is a lot cheaper. Just wondering if FM will run smoothly on it? Gonna be using it mainly for programming, web browsing, etc. and FM will be the only game I play on it. MacBook Air 2020: Retina display with True Tone 1.1GHz quad-core 10th-generation Intel Core i5 processor Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz Intel Iris Plus Graphics 8GB 3733MHz
  8. After reading through this thread, I'm glad to see that I'm not alone in thinking this game and particularly, the match engine, isvery much flawed. It's unbelievably predictable which takes away the excitement from the matches. You already know what's gonna happen before it happens. Some of the issues that spring to mind: - One on ones/set pieces = There's been enough said about this already so no need for me to elaborate. - Poor first touches = This is just incredible how poor this feature is in the match engine. Players keeping the ball in and taking 10+ seconds to recove
  9. Thank you for the response! The only issue I have is that I am looking for a 14' screen if possible? I would be happy to spend 1000-1200? Would it be worth getting a Mac instead?
  10. Hi all, The advice on this topic is really valuable and thus I would like your advice on the laptop specs posted below: They're the same laptop just different specs as highlighted and are €100 in the difference so I'm wondering how FM would run on both? Also, just curious as I bought FM20 from the official site for a Lenovo laptop. If I went with a MacBook instead would the current version of FM be ok to run or would I need to download a Mac version? Thanks
  11. Hi guys, I'm only looking to play FM (gaming wise) and usually only load 4 major leagues (England, Germany, Spain, Italy) with two tiers apart from England where I load down to League 2. Just wondering if the below laptop would run it smoothly enough?
  12. Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone had a good recommendation for a new laptop which runs FM smoothly? My budget would be somewhere around €600-700, and the laptop would preferably have a 13''-14'' screen as my current is too big and heavy to carry around all the time(16'' screen). Also, I purchased FM2020 from the official website before Christmas and installed it on my current laptop. How would I go about getting it installed on the new laptop? Can I just uninstall off this one and go from there? Thanks in advance for your assistance
