  1. Whos waiting for patch 10.2 ?

i'm waiting too. But I'm sure SI will get it right eventually.
  2. Well, I only run 6 countries (all divisions) on medium database, while the game reccomends that I can run many more (AMD 64 x2 Dual Core 6000+ 3.02 GHz, 4 GB RAM) So that shouldn't be a problem. And many games are much more bugged than FM, but the difference is that FM is a game that you spend hours and hours on, while many other games are played (can be played) much more casual. So that isn't really SI's fault, but still... And the penalty thing is just awful. No excuses there. Seriously. I hope patches will come out soon, because I like the game itself very much.
  3. Don't get me wrong, I really like this year's version of FM as a game. HOWEVER, the amount of bugs (and more importantly: their nature) makes it really unplayable for me: Don't get me started about the random crash-dumps and I just won a penalty-shootout, only to find out that I had lost is according to the media. So I check the match-report again and what has happened?! Apparantly some player managed to time travel to the past and to score his penalty this time...!! UNBELIEVABLE!! And deleting shortlists still keeps the players in your 'subscriptions', which means you get many useless messages in your inbox etc. The reason why this makes FM unplayable, is because FM is VERY time consuming. I spend a lot of time searching and buying new players, coaches, setting up tactics, training-regimes etc. etc. Then to see your game ruined by a penalty shoot-out loss, which was actually won is unacceptable. As are the dump crashes. Even if you save regularly, you sometimes have to replay games, which feels fake. FM lives on realism. Take that away and what's left? I'm hopeful that you guys can fix this with a patch or two. I won't be touching FM anymore after at LEAST the next patch (and I'll probably wait till the third patch). So congrats on a nice game, but now get it to function. Thanks
  4. How to remove all logo's in FM2010?

hehe, yeah, probably. Anyway, I fixed the problem. Turned out that the resource archive tool didn't function properly. All is well now. My FM is now logo & picture free and I now have plenty of work to do
  5. How to remove all logo's in FM2010?

Thanks, but that way I'll still see the 'original' logo's for the clubs/countries that I haven't got logo's for myself... I know, it's a crazy problem. But maybe I'm a bit crazy. Any other ideas?
  6. How to remove all logo's in FM2010?

Hi all, I only want to use the logo's I have designed myself (don't ask why), so I was trying to delete ALL the logo's that come with the game (and player pictures etc.)... and wasn't having any luck at all... I extracted the graphics.fmf file. Deleted everything I wanted to get rid of. Replaced the original graphics.fmf file with what I had created and still I see all the logo's in my game... Any tips? Much appreciated!
  7. FM2010 announcement

From what I've read, most people are very happy with what has been announced with regards to FM 2010. That's obviously good news for SI and I'm happy for them. I truly am. However, personally, I'm very, very dissapointed with what has been announced and chances are that FM 2010 will be the first version of CM/FM since CM2 that I won't buy. I was already dissapointed with FM 2009, which I never could get into and which seemed a bit rushed in certain area's. Especially the 3D-engine was a problem for me. It had a slow, clunky feeling to it (for me at least). However, I fully appreciated the fact that implementing a 3D-engine is huge and needs fine-tuning/developing etc. The things I see and read about the 3D-engine in FM 2010 shock me in that sense. Only 100 new animations? And I've seen the screenshots... well, it doesn't look like that much has changed... Still (litterally) rough around the edges. And it seems that most new features are only interesting for a small group of users. For example, the possibility to design you own leagues is certainly impressive in the technical sense (really, it is), but I won't be using it and I'm sure lots of people won't. And the new user-friendly interface? Well, to be honest, we get a 'new user-friendly interface' every year, don't we? And sure, it looks ok, but I was able to do what I wanted to do in all FM-games to date, so I'm kind of wondering about how high a priority a new user-friendly interface should be for you guys. Things like the tactic-creator are all very nice, but it will only help you do what you could also do without... again, user-friendly stuff. Nothing that actually adds to the game. When you tell us that FM 2010 will be the 'polished' version of 'FM 2009', it strucks me as odd, because I think it's only natural that the next game in a franchise will have polished all old features. That doesn't take away the need for new features. Maybe I've got it all wrong and maybe SI have lots of new features in store for us. If that is the case, I would urge them to share that knowledge, because CM 2010 will be out very soon and they look to be spot on this year. Agreed, it would be for the very first time BGS would have it spot on, but nevertheless. I feel that CM is making HUGE steps (and their 3D-engine looks extremely slick), while FM is standing still at best. And despite the fact that different people are supposed to be working on FM 2010 and FM Live, I think it's maybe too much of a coincidence that the year in which FM Live is released, FM has seen hardly any progress... However, like I said at the beginning, most people seem very happy, so SI have got nothing to worry about. And that's a good thing. SI have made a lot of great games which I have played for so many hours it is disturbing, so good luck to them. Really. And who knows, maybe you will make the same strides BGS have in the future and I can enjoy a SI-product once again. I really hope so.
  8. Works like a charm! You are me hero!! Thank you very much for helping me out. On a side note: I can't comprehend how some people know the xml-files (and what they do) in such detail. Really impressive.
  9. Great! Thanks man! One last question: Do you know which .fmf-file I need to open to find this xml-file if I'm using the standard skin that comes with FM2008 and where that .fmf-file is located?
  10. Hi, This is a question for FM2008, allthough I can imagine it also applies for FM2009. I like to have the colours of a team in FM matching the colours in the logo. In some cases however, the official FM data editor won't let me. If I choose a color for the background (e.g. dark blue-ish) and I choose a color which is a bit similar (according to FM that is!!) for the text (e.g. black) and I start a new game, I will see the correct dark blue-ish background, but with white text instead of black... I imagine this is done to prevent the text from becoming unreadable, but in some cases, FM is too strict. So my question is: is there a way to work around this? Especially for clubs that have two different shades of the same color (e.g. Le Havre: dark blue and light blue), it's a problem. FM 'helps' me, by turning the dark blue text into black... I want to be able to control the colors in FM. Any ideas? Much appreciated!!
  11. Nope, this one is not for me. After my Sunderland-fiasco (4 league defeats in a row), I tried to give it another go with a better side and I chose AZ from Holland. My first league game was at home versus rivals Ajax, so I was pretty nervous. However, when we humiliated them by hammering them 5-1, I thought this tactic could be great after all!! Unfortunately, the next three games (against inferior opposition) all resulted in 1-1 draws and I even lost the next one 0-1 at home versus NEC... However, thanks for sharing the tactic. Obviously other people are having huge successes with it. It's just not for me.
  12. Well, because you asked so nicely TEAM: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/7685/teamyz6.jpg GK: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5339/gkfq2.jpg DC1: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/6991/dc1yy2.jpg DC2: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/8929/dc2vq3.jpg DL: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/3556/dlfo3.jpg DR: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5155/drtl5.jpg MC1: http://img100.imageshack.us/img100/847/mc1js4.jpg MC2: http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/5822/mc2kw3.jpg AML: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5083/amltp3.jpg AMR: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5815/amrez4.jpg AMC: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/6752/amcky2.jpg ST: http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/8674/stfx9.jpg
  13. Anybody had good results with a lesser team? I started a new game with Sunderland with this tactic and lost my opening 4 games of the season... Bolton & Everton away and Man Utd & Chelsea at home. Not exactly an easy start of the season, but still: 0 points... and we were all over the place to be honest. I was kind of excited after pre-season when my team performed really well with flowing football. Cissé grabbing hattricks all the time etc. but when the friendlies were over...no dice. In between the four league games I had a home game against Aldershot for the League Cup and managed to scrape a 1-0 victory... It's no use to keep playing this particular game, because morale is so low that it wouldn't be fair to blame this tactic for a possible 5th loss. This was my team: GK: Craig Gordon DC: Anton Ferdinand DC: Nyron Nosworthy DL: George McCartney DR: Pascal Chimbonda MCL: Teemu Tainio MCR: Steed Malbranque AML: Kieran Richardson AMR: El-Hadji Diouf AMC: Andy Reid ST: Djibril Cissé
  14. It seems I can't overwrite the logo's for Dutch clubs...why?

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't understand the problem either... Do you see anything wrong with my config-file? I checked the names of the files and they are correct, so it can't be that. I did solve the problem by extracting the graphics.fmf file, replacing the logo's manually there and overwrite the original graphics.fmf file with my new graphics.fmf file, but that is not very user-friendly... Hopefully, I don't encounter this problem with other logo's. I'm very confused about this one.
  15. Hi, FM09 ships with logo's for many clubs. However, I like to use my own logo's for different reasons (like better colours: e.g. the logo for AZ Alkmaar is not bright red in the game (like it should be), but more pink/purple/red-ish). Therefore, I want to overwrite this logo with my own version of the AZ-logo. I know how to make logo's and how to make them appear in my game and I was able to overwrite the Italian logo's. However, with the Dutch logo's, I don't seem to have any luck...?!? Any ideas about this problem and what I can do about it? Thanks!! Oh, and for those who are interested: my config-file in the my documents/Sports Interactive/Football Manager 2009/graphics/holland folder looks like this (and the pictures are named correctly, so azn for normal/huge, azl for left, azr for right and azs for small and the same goes for other clubs): <record> <!-- resource manager options --> <!-- don't preload anything in this folder --> <boolean id="preload" value="false"/> <!-- turn off auto mapping --> <boolean id="amap" value="false"/> <!-- picture mappings --> <!-- the following XML maps pictures inside this folder into other positions in the resource system, which allows this folder to be dropped into any place in the graphics folder and still have the game pick up the graphics files from the correct places --> <list id="maps"> <!-- Generated by FM Graphics Configurator, by HMan --> <record from="azn" to="graphics/pictures/club/991/logo"/> <record from="azn" to="graphics/pictures/club/991/logo/huge"/> <record from="azs" to="graphics/pictures/club/991/icon"/> <record from="azl" to="graphics/pictures/club/991/logo/background/left"/> <record from="azr" to="graphics/pictures/club/991/logo/background/right"/> <record from="twenten" to="graphics/pictures/club/1009/logo"/> <record from="twenten" to="graphics/pictures/club/1009/logo/huge"/> <record from="twentes" to="graphics/pictures/club/1009/icon"/> <record from="twentel" to="graphics/pictures/club/1009/logo/background/left"/> <record from="twenter" to="graphics/pictures/club/1009/logo/background/right"/> <record from="heerenveenn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1036/logo"/> <record from="heerenveenn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1036/logo/huge"/> <record from="heerenveens" to="graphics/pictures/club/1036/icon"/> <record from="heerenveenl" to="graphics/pictures/club/1036/logo/background/left"/> <record from="heerenveenr" to="graphics/pictures/club/1036/logo/background/right"/> <record from="necn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1025/logo"/> <record from="necn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1025/logo/huge"/> <record from="necs" to="graphics/pictures/club/1025/icon"/> <record from="necl" to="graphics/pictures/club/1025/logo/background/left"/> <record from="necr" to="graphics/pictures/club/1025/logo/background/right"/> <record from="rodajcn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1033/logo"/> <record from="rodajcn" to="graphics/pictures/club/1033/logo/huge"/> <record from="rodajcs" to="graphics/pictures/club/1033/icon"/> <record from="rodajcl" to="graphics/pictures/club/1033/logo/background/left"/> <record from="rodajcr" to="graphics/pictures/club/1033/logo/background/right"/> </list> </record>
