  1. Given Gabb's production, I'm not even going to argue that Man City overpaid for him. See you around the P League, Georgie! #AndSoItBegins
  2. Well, no one had any solutions/suggestions/advice/answers, so I just bought the editor and plugged a random lot of unemployed staff into the team. Not even going to get to know them or learn their names, there's just there to do the job and not get paid for it.
  3. I already did a search of 1) coaches with Polish citizenship and 2) coaches who spoke Polish. Even those currently unemployed weren't interested (as I went down the list and offered every one of them a job. My manager only speaks English/German/Spanish, but apparently enough of my players speak English or German so I'm getting the message across. I'm just very worried if one of the players suffers a major injury (leg snaps clean off, for example) and there's no physio on the sidelines. Since SI hasn't/won't address this issue, I guess I'm just going to buy the editor and stock my staff with every world-class out-of-work manager. Arsenal just sacked Unai Emery and he seems to like me in-game...
  4. Finally had an international job open up in 2034, and Poland hired me as national team manager. Poland came with a U21 and U19 head coach and no other staff. I offered positions to several likely candidates, and was rebuffed on every offer. I went into job center and posted openings for all coaches, scouts and physios for Poland at all levels. NOTHING happened, the jobs remained open in the job center, none of them displayed as posted and no candidates ever showed up. I just had to manage the U18 team which had nothing but grayed-out players because I wasn't allowed to pick a team. I can't pick a decent senior team because I can't scout players in or out of the player pool and have no idea about their relative quality. The only solution I see (other than abandoning national management) is buying the in-game editor and forcibly jamming non-willing staff into every available position. I've looked at most of the other national teams in Europe and most of them have only 3 head coaches, but some teams (like Spain, Wales, Scotland) have a full complement of staffing. I've never encountered this problem before, but it's always been apparent that SI doesn't really care about international management compared to club management.
  5. It USED to be that you could deny player call-ups for international friendlies. I haven't seen that as an option lately, but to be fair, most of my players could only WISH for a call-up.
  6. Oddly enough, I tried this again, but did a Custom size database where I clicked on "UK and Ireland" region, ticked on all the options, loaded up the database and now with players 15-30, the maximum PA is only 130.
  7. I went and loaded up a 10-level English database, the no-players database and "add players to playable teams" and "add players based in nation". And using G***** S****, pulled up CA and PA. on 15-17 year olds in England, CA's go up to 92, PA's go up to 132 . If I filter all players from 15-30, CA's go to 129 PA's only go up to 140. So...at least to start, there are no "world-level" players, and Premier League teams will be bidding silly amounts of money for League 1/Championship-level talent. I would imagine eventually the game will generate higher-CA players, but...you're constrained by the programming restrictions the game puts on "add players"
  8. Hmm, I don't know about capped CA's, I don't use an in-game editor or "cheater/peeker" programs anymore. I found that they were too tempting, and I'm easily corruptible.
  9. There IS a database in the Steam Workshop where all the players have been removed (and also one where Thanos snaps away HALF of all players and staff in the database). If you load it up and "add players to playable teams" it WILL generate a completely new world (not renamed real players) with histories.
  10. I find as long as you nominally meet MOST of their demands (and keep progressing), they look the other way and eventually drop some of their demands and come around to your side. And if they don't? Job market's always full of new opportunities to work for someone who agrees with your tactical vision.
  11. If everything else fails, set the responsibility to hire HOYD to the chairman, sometimes they'll actually hire someone better than they give you to spend.
  12. I've had them give me the "but if you improve, we'll lose you to another club". You know what makes you lose me to another club? Taking advantage of my skills without offering me the opportunity to improve myself. Once they give me that a couple times, I let the players contracts run down and set them for release, I wait until a couple weeks before my contract runs out, I fire all the staff and I leave them professionally destroyed. Then I take a job with their rival and BURY THEM.
  13. I'm still on save #1 (year 2034). Started out with a LLM Create-a-club (9th level of English football), got the club to League One, the board wouldn't work with me so I jumped to AFC Telford, got them to the Premier, jumped from there (before I was pushed) to Hull City in the Championship, and got them up to 3rd and a spot in the Champions League. Since I started my manager with my actual birthdate, I'm now 70 in-game and just got my reputation to a respectable level...so we'll see how long I live.
  14. I was just hired by Poland in 2034 (after not seeing an open position until that job came available post-World Cup. The team has me, a U21 and U19 head coach and no other staff. I've offered jobs to staff who are currently unemployed, I've offered jobs to staff who are currently employed, and every time they decline the job. When I post the job for applicants (assistant, coach, GK coach, physio, scout, etc.) There is never an update with applicants, and the "post job" under job center remains available, it never grays out. I looked at the staff in other countries: some countries (Scotland, Wales, Spain) have full staffs, most countries only have 1-3 head coaches and no other staff. And while Mikel Areteta is making $140,000/week as coach of Spain, I'm getting $27,000/wk, but poor old Jurgen Klopp's only making $10,000/week at Austria. And aside from the senior head coaches, no other staff is making any salary. Really hard to manage internationally if I can't even scout players for the player pool or have an assistant coach to handle duties and tactics. God forbid a player is hurt and needs a physio.
  15. Assigned one of my scouts for a pre-season 3-month tour of Asia. End of 3 months, I get notification of 15 players he's reporting on: at such Asian clubs as PSG, Newcastle, Bayer, Schalke...no actual Asian players or Asian clubs. Their world knowledge shows they now have 2% knowledge in Saudia Arabia, Myanmar and Malaysia...but none of the player reports are for players in those countries or from those countries. Is scouting really that broken?
  16. It's not listed as his favorite club, although it does say he'd prefer NOT to play for Chelsea, which I understand since they let him go.
  17. yeah, when I get home I'll upload the one I took when I signed him.
  18. Playing a journeyman save in 2034, managing Hull City above expectations, currently waiting to play the Euro Cup final and have qualified for the Champions League next year. Last season I signed a set-for-release Neil Brock who had been abandoned by Chelsea. In his first season, he's leading Hull in goals, and has been called up by England for the World Cup. And after all of this, I get a notice that Watford's coming in for a bid, and it says he "desperately wants to move to Watford and is hopeful to be able to discuss terms as soon as possible." Except yeah, I have him under contract for 4 more years, his morale is perfect, he has no negatives to morale, and Watford's in 8th and isn't going to be playing continental football any time soon. Also, he's the highest paid player on the squad, so it's not a salary issue.
  19. Oh, good, Willem's starting to pick up form for Chelsea, while simultaneously not getting into position for Curacao (although he did have some lovely passes in those friendly games.) I keep forgetting he's only 22.
  20. Uh, oh - Willem's no longer good enough for selection to the Curacao national team. And judging from the first three games for Chelsea...well, it's early, he's learning a new culture, it IS the EPL...
