for me, i still find that there is lack of creative and penetration when the opposite team is parking the bus in the final third. Players are still too urgent to shoot, lack of patient to pass back reorganize the play. at this point, It is a backward from fm18

Hi guys! due to holiday, I have time to write some analysis on current FM19 engine. I hope what I write can help to improve coming FM.Let's pick one of match from AI vs AI. All of the screens are captured by the comprehensive highlights.
From the above screen, you can see TAA makes a great overlap. 2 defenders are defending him. Why he still tries to cross? It's clearly no chance. You can see that D. Costa is wide open. Why TAA dont pass back to D. Costa to make a better chance?
After some of the blocking, the ball went to mid. You can see Sane from Man City ignores TAA....... I am not necessary to cap the screen. The play will be finished by the crossing from TAA.......
Again, FB drops too deep. No one cares D.cost. Both team also has the same problem. It provides so much space on both flank. This is also one the reason why there is lack of central play.
Actually I want to question why both CM stay so close each other..... They are totally defend by one defender..... You can imagine it will not go mid again.
again....... You can imagine man city will repeat liverpool's situation. The ball went to the right flank. Crossing on the right, blocking, corner.
So the similar situation repeat again and again. No one mark both flank. Winger/ FB tried to cross urgently . Cross are blocked. It may lead to counter attack by opposite or cross, again or corner for both team. 84 cross attempt for both team.
When all the match happens similar situations. When you have watched over 100 matches with comprehensive highlight, what body language should you be in front of the monitor? composed? motivated? anxious?
Ok, I will show another match which is one of the team is controlled by me. I only want to show one of the old issue from FM. The above screen is the tactics setup
Please just look at where the red shirt striker is...................... He is Dlf (s). But he acts as a poacher, advance forward.... No striker drops deep to hold the ball, how can you setup a mid play? old issue.
As you know, False nine 's description in the game is a joke.........
I also upload PKM for reporting different issues in the previous FM,, although all of them are not solved. I dont expect above mentioned will be solved in next patch. But I hope it can be helped for future FM.

So do you still enjoy this ME, especially repeated crossing?, repeated blocking? In FM18, you still can see some of the mid play. But in FM19, all of them are mostly disappeared.
You can still say this is the best match engine ever since FM10. Please provide constructive feedback and evidence to show the reason of being the best ME ever since FM10. for further discussion. But I can say this is the most not enjoyable ME ever since Fm10 as above mentioned repeated crossing, blocking and corner. If this is the best ME ever, I think this is not respect to old FM.

What I mean is I dont understanding why you mentioned this is the best ME since FM10. May be you dont have mentioned any reason which makes me confused.
I dont know how many match you have watched in comprehensive highlight? May be Just a few match?
When you have watched a certain amount of match, when you watched similar situations happen again and again, I dont think you will say it is the best ever. This is What I want to mentioned.

I play on on comprehensive too. Wow, that means you are enjoying to watch over closely 100 crossing every game? Comprehensive highlight shows all the highlight of crossing, corner and shooting even all of them are blocked. When you are playing weak team, you will feel success you have set up a great defending. But when you have watched over a season, may be over 100 games, than you will feel boring. Similar blocking, similar long shoot exists again and again.
But strictly speaking, success of feeling is just based on poor movement of attacker in final third phase. It may not necessary mainly related to your setup.

4th week is two PRM league matches.
5th week is an offer from Bayern for a friendly and another PRM match.
6th week again two PRM league matches.
7th week Euro Super Cup and a PRM match.
I'm really not seeing how I can be doing EPL matches in pre-season and I don't think they usually start with two EPL matches pr. week?

IF the opposite has regrouped and sit deep in their final third, you are almost impossible to make any CCC, because they can not make any killer pass in current ME.
IF they are defensive, dont press too high, try to pull them out although it is not necessary work.
Why there is no creative in final third when the opposite sit deep in current ME?
Lack of width for offensive player no matter how width you set. It just rely on your wing back. No space is created. Actually it is outdated in modern football. In modern football, winger will stay wide even he is in the final third and will not make any useless crossing,
Offensive players are forced to put the ball wide to the wing back make crossing in current ME. Due to the crossing issue in beta, SI team has increased the chance of blocking the cross and tackle by the defensive player. You can see lots of tackle and success rate (closely 90% by every team)
Striker never sit deep in the final third no matter what roles you set to him. Someone said that punting hold position to d/f-s will be effective. Actually it is false. How many years of this has been reported?
In current ME, if the opposite team play offensive, the game is still fun to watch. Chance is still created.

Success in first season is not difficult. The most difficult your striker score continuously season to season. It is so frustrating that all teams are parking bus after you success in first season, than your striker will score less.

You can have a look on other team's conversion rate. It's only 10%, 11% for the top team. It is lower than previous FM and real life. The average goal for the top team is always not more than two.
All of them exist since the last update of ME.

lack of key pass , no one more than 2 key pass per game.... OMG
They are running in full match engine.

Drop deep can draw more offside than playing high line with setting up offside trap.
The most amount offside player is full back and winger.
Pass back to GK which causes corner still exits.
Too many miss of simple passing.
AM keeps changing my modified training schedule.
dribbling in this year is ridiculous. Player having dribbling related ppm or setting him IF means they will not stop dribbling until lost the ball, cross or shoot the ball.'
Not much forward movement when the players are in final third based on my observation. (comprehensions highlights)
Pressing is related to the player's mentality. A little bit disappointed.
I saw some players want more quickness training. I have scheduled one session for them. After that session, they said they are unhappy with the high strengthen of quickness training.
Player's rating system is time to reform.

Back to the topic, I am sure pre-match event, including press conference, who is favor side or underdog side can have a great effect. But how big is the effect? We never know.
When you spend over 1~2 thousands gaming hours every series of FM, you will know some negative scenarios will exist. But you just dont know how to solve it, how to avoid it, how to solve, There is no clear answer.
I have tried. For example, when you are keep winning, than i will try to not to praise anymore when they just win the game which is expected to win. I will reply a little bit negatively in the press conference. It looks better. But it also looks like not work.
May be at that time, you just need to make use some match engine exploited tactics to against it. haha
FM is just a game. Just relax.

What my experience is if the opposite can break your press on their own half court and has a explosive winger with deep crossing, they will goal. So the pressing is extremely important in the opposite half court.

playing with 3 defenders only? It is a disaster in FM16.................

Opposite team plays high line when it is losing. Most of them use 4-3-3- with 3 strikers formation. My team tries lots of risky pass and through ball. But I want to play safe because my team loses lots of possession because of the through ball. In the past, there is a TI which was called pass to the feet. But what can I do now? slower tempo? But this TI does nothing for me.

I get the same problem too. MY striker is Dlf (s). In 15.21, he will mark circled player at least. In 15.21, that defensive position from striker can intercept some pass when the opposite side pass back to their dm.
It helped some, but it is not a big defensive problem when he does not drop deep in 15.3. Based on the new position, my striker gets lots of counter attack opportunity directly, although it is not my tactic thought.

Maybe try not to run with the ball too often so they won't hold up possession for too long.
actually i play with retain possession style. I found that they always tight marking to my player. When my player receive the pass, they will tackle immediately. So i try to set pass into space shout instruction. However, it also not works. Before my player decide the next action after receiving the pass, opposite players just run to in front of my player and sliding tackle to my player without hesitation. I confuse how can they do that.

What can I do if opposite team just tackle hard and are playing with a high pressing style?
Some teams can have over 100 times tackle attempts when playing against my team within 90 mins. It caused a serious injuries problem to my team. At least 1 Match for 1 injury. I dont know how to handle this...

However, in these 3 years, they also have some different pros and cons for the ME. It depends on what you are looking for.
