  1. Of course there is an issue. Hence why this is a headline feature. Long term squad building needs to be fixed - they have said they’re looking to make it better. Of course there are seasons and examples of teams doing better but long term analysis of the data shows the big teams struggle to squad build effectively and hold it together.
  2. I’ve looked at lots and lots of data over the years. If I can see any encouragement that title battles are back regardless of how far in the game you go it’s a massive thing for me. The game is just not a challenge at the top levels 10 years in so the hope is the headline feature helps with this.
  3. 100%. I haven’t bought FM for a few years now because it’s not a challenge after ten years. This was never the case in old CMs (with less variables for the AI, granted). The AI improvements are a headline feature - much welcomed - so I’ll be seeing if they are doing what they’re supposed to for long term games. If not I won’t buy the game.
  4. You can at least make the top AI teams more consistent. In 2040 I want to see the top AI teams in the league only losing 5 or so games (like real life). At the moment they lose too many and hence when you introduce a human manager it’s not challenging enough.
  5. First thing I want to see when the beta is out, is to holiday for 20 seasons and then see how tight it is at the top and if the team in 2nd is consistently putting up a fight with the team in first. If the AI team winning the league is doing so losing few games (at the moment if you do this the top teams lose too many games) then the headline AI feature is broadly working as it should be. However if we’re still consistently seeing teams win the league with high 70’s/low 80s and the team in second losing double digit games, it’s not really working. It will be a very easy test to get clarity on right away.
  6. So is there a real life example of a player who scores lots of goals but has poor ‘finishing’? I find this area of the game quite confusing.
  7. But PSG are nowhere near taking over the world in real life. If you holiday for 30 seasons you can clearly see the issue. The teams winning the league and challenging aren’t dominant enough. They win with low points totals and lose too many games. In essence, the entire league evens out more as the AI is basically the same brain. We need the top teams continuing to do well (obviously with teams coming and going in dominance).
  8. Will this mean some ding dong title battles between me and a competent AI 15/20 years in the future? I would love that. At the moment when you pull away from a rival - or perhaps end up at a big club in the future and win a league, it becomes very difficult to actually lose the league. This is reflected when you look at the league table and see the side in 2nd has lost double digit matches. Fingers crossed the top teams stay as top teams and give you more competition at the top of the league.
  9. I hope the term ‘gegenpress’ isn’t used any longer tbf. It’s an outdated term - most teams do some form of pressing now. The whole thing needs toning down. There’s not one team that doesn’t do pressing to some extent. Some do it better than others but the aim is the same.
  10. It’ll vary by club. Liverpool may sell Salah to the Saudi’s whether Klopp likes it or not but you’d expect he’d be completely kept up to date with developments and decisions.
  11. Yeah anything that makes it more difficult to do a Conference to PL run is fine with me. It’s a little too easy at the moment.
  12. Point is, he has 13 for pace. There are undoubtedly quicker players in the lower leagues with less for pace in game as they are not as high profile as Modric.
  13. Hmmm not sure. Lots of footballers aren’t quick. There could easily be people on here faster than, say, Luka Modric over 100 metres. And I bet he doesn’t have 1 pace in the game. Also, FM doesn’t take into consideration pace with and without the ball. Plenty of players are fast but with the ball at their feet, not so much. Is a complex subject.
  14. Just glad there’s some honest communication for once. It’s not difficult and it gets a lot of people onside. Now we know 24 will be a slight evolution on 23, similar UI etc, which I’ll absolutely take knowing that 25 will be a sequel. I may not buy 24 but I’ll be waiting for any news on 25 which sounds like it’ll come sooner and include some of those revolutionary changes we’re all waiting for. Bravo on some open discussion, it’s refreshing to see.
  15. Will AI team building ever be improved? Surely it directly hinders the Conference to Champions League winners narrative that makes FM so popular? That literally doesn’t happen so much as it’s reliant on teams falling away and not doing so well - it’s what gives the human player the advantage. There’s a strong argument that’s actually a feature. It’s the FM ‘secret sauce’.
  16. There absolutely needs to be ‘busy’ rating for these in the next FM. I should be able to see how overworked staff are in these departments to make a decision when more are needed. The system isn’t deep enough right now.
  17. Yeah it’s wayyyy too high. The top keeper in the Premier League has about 75%. I guess it’s more necessary in the game to stop games/goals getting ridiculously out of hand.
  18. Penalising the poor players because the match ratings are flawed, shame.
  19. There is no ball physics as such, no physics engine in the ME.
  20. Doesn’t youth recruitment and youth coaching affect the quality of regens? I thought youth importance was how important it was to buy/play young players. Not convinced it isn’t broken as a variable though.
  21. The whole easy/hard thing is completely dependent on how far down the line you are. First 10 seasons can be a challenge for sure. After that though the mask slips and the game world crumbles due to a poor AI. If you manage a big team in, say, 2035 it becomes a procession very quickly. You can see this easily by looking at how many points are needed to win leagues (full detail on).
  22. This is absurd ffs This petty stuff runs throughout the interaction module and is completely broken. The entire code needs ripping out and starting again with regards to promises etc.
  23. I think it’s probably quite straight forward; the AI will look predominately at CA, if there’s a great prospect with 120 and 200 PA, they possibly don’t see PA as something that’s worth developing by playing the player. They’ll also go out and buy a striker with 150 ca and 150 pa (finished article) and this player will block the young player. It’s the simplest explanation. A human will be more inclined to play Moukoko, knowing that there’s a chance he’ll be excellent, and happily suck up taking the CA hit in the short term. It’s no doubt a tricky fix but a player with a high PA should be played more, ignoring the low CA whilst they develop.
  24. Should stamina be an attribute for goalkeepers? Is there any goalkeeper around irl who is judged on stamina? Or known to have poor stamina? Sounds like it should be reviewed as an attribute if it’s not useful or used in any way.
