  1. I gave up on that formation and took some advice from here. Went with a bit more classic 4-3-3. It's early days so far but it's the best start I've had so far. The Juventus blip was due to Buffon having an insane day. I splurged the cash after selling Flanagan and Ings on Aymeric Laporte and Sergi Roberto (35,5m release clause) Any pointers on this new approach?
  2. A lot of interesting pointers, thanks a lot! Just got the boot again so I will start a new save and try some of the things you've talked about here.
  3. 1) I saw no attempts at penetration in the middle, but that might be because I've missunderstood the Mezzala role. 2) Indeed, I've added that because everyone just hoofed the ball towards an AF that constantly was offside, I mean, 99% of the time. 3) The idea with the BPD(St) was that he would take the ball and deliver a good pass to either Mezzalas who would then be the start of an attack. 4) I will probably add a box to box or even an AP instead of the Car. 1) I don't think Lovren is as bad as RL would imply He will not stay more than a season however and I will get Aymeric in the January-window. I don't really like a back 4 so I don't think I will do that I absolutely despise Coutinho in FM, I've never ever had any success with him not matter what position I've used him in. There is a lot of rotation going on and I believe Salah can become a really good Mezzala, he's already the best scorer in the team from that position. I do play A-A every other game, he is great already. 2. Aye, pace is something I don't seem to be able to use. I will definitely implement som changes based on the suggestion I've recieved so far. As I said, there is a lot of rotation so no, those are not my best players on the field.
  4. A) Exploit the middle "encourages a more intense attacking mentality in the central areas". I added that in hope more risks would be taking in the middle and there would be more throughballs since I have few players who currently can do much with the crosses coming in from the width. I will think on that and try without it. B) At first I used Mezzala (S) DLP(D) Mezzala (A) as the midfield trio and that didn't work. But I will add some risk to the passing, perhaps remove the carrilero and add someone who actually wants to make a through ball. I've also changed the DLF to a F9 during the last game and I think I saw some improvements regarding the movement from Firmino. I would like a wing-back role that is attacking and yet doesn't Dribble More. A lot of goals against us have come from free-kicks on the left flank where Robertson or Moreno have lost the ball after an unsuccesful dribble.

    Injury simulator

You might have a case of bad luck then. Not sure about the Man U squad, are there a lot of players with "Might have problems with injuries"? My two first Liverpool-saves was insanely hard since I averaged a 1-2 week injury for every game during pre-season. I stopped adding "close down more" until all of my players were at least 85% match fit. Not sure if that was the reason but since then I've had a lot less injuries.
  6. I've noticed that when I drag a sub in the sub list it's not where the dragged icon is that the sub occurs but rather where the mouse pointer is. Is that what you mean? Regarding individual player team talks, the good thing about this is that you can click multiple players in one go and tell them the same thing instead of having to do it one by one.

You base this on one save game with Man U? How high is the intensity of your tactic? Do you close down more? Do you use Stay on Feet? Are the injuries mainly from matches or training? Do you play players without full match fitness? Do you rotate? If you deal with all of these questions and still have a lot of injuries it's probably just bad luck.
  8. It might be printed on the inside of the box. It's still empty?
  9. That is news to me. What is that? You click on change tactics and it instantly goes to the end of the half?
  10. Blue Matter is working like a charm. Thank you!
  11. So, can we classify you as anti-SI then? Now, I don't know exactly how things work at SI but one scenario might be this: The beta-branch of FM was released even though the team had already identified and was working on several bugs/performance issues. The point of the beta was to test things that simply can't be tested without thousands upon thousands of different computer specs being available. Not viable without an open beta. So even though the beta has it fair share of bugs that the large masses help to identify, there might be a bunch of them that was already known and under investigation and as usual we will most likely see a very hefty patch on launch. Just a theory of course.

    Bad Partnership

Would be interesting to get more information regarding this and if it is working as intended. More information should be available as to why this is happening. Information from a defensive coach or someone with high man managment would be nice. Perhaps if their personalities are too different, but as you say, they are in the same social group so it is odd.

    Bad Partnership

Ohh, I like that this can happen! Have you checked if there are issues between them? As in they don't like each other? That would be a great feature
  14. I've started to. Adding retain possession and lowering the tempo is usually two changes I do, but I rarely do that if I have a 2-0 lead. Then the AI usually get 2-3 quick goals and any changes I intended to do to keep my lead are pointless.
  15. I'm not sure it is, I'm absolute garbage at this game. Just wanted to see if anyone else noticed the AI going bananas in the late minutes. Seems too consistant. But as I said, I'm worthless. 5th save with Liverpool now, got sacked every time.
  16. Yeah, everything gets so much more dangerous. I mean how often do anyone score from 30-35 meters on a free-kick? I've had it happen thrice against me in half a season. I do get that teams trailing will go nuts but it's just so extremely different. If they play that much better with the attacking tactics they apply in the end of a game they shouldn't really use anything else.
  17. So whats going on in the last 20 minutes of games where you hold the lead against the AI? It's just an insane amount of goals for pretty much no reason. Random free-kicks from 35m going straight in, the AI all of a sudden putting away every shot on goal. Every team turns into Barca for the last 20 Had 2-1 vs Hoffenheim in the 76. It ended 2-4 Had 2-0 against Arsenal in the 69th. It ended 2-4 (They scored 2 in extra-time) Had 1-0 against Stoke in the 80th. It ended 1-3
  18. Not sure. I've been sacked by Liverpool 5 times so far, but my results usually put us around 5-6 after the first 6 PL games. Thats when I usually get the sack. Might be a bit harsh bit my CL results are also worthless
  19. Anyone noticed that there is a lot of injury time both after 45 and 90? I often get around 5min of extra time even if few thing have happened. We had 1 injury, 1 yellow and 1 goal in the second half and the ref added 5min. This happens a lot.
  20. Regarding the dynamics and players reacting heavily on influental players being sold I think we all have to accept that our managers in the game are new to the manager part when we create them. So an untested manager swoops in and kick out a world-class manager (for example Guardiola) and then starts selling influental and highly influental players. Why wouldn't players be upset? A more fair test of the dynamics system would be when we have played 5+ seasons as a manager at a top level, maybe even won some large trophies and then getting the job of say City. Would the response be as extreme or would the welcome be another one? What will happen when a manager have had success with a club for several years? Will selling an highly influental player make the same ripples or will they simply trust the manager?

    FM18 Beta, Dynamics Question

It does sound extreme but it's hard to tell. But it might be worth raising as a bug?

    FM18 Beta, Dynamics Question

Not necessarily, but if they are influental or highly influental players you would have to take it easy when you let them down and if the rest of the team come complaining just tell them you could only give the reserve players game time if it meant sidelining one of the first team players. I'm just saying you have the be more mindful of these things. How did you handle it? What was your process? Did you just get angry and told them to stuff it?

    FM18 Beta, Dynamics Question

It's not silly, if a completely untested manager takes over a team it shouldn't be 100% trust and confidence even if it is one with full coaching credentials and lots of playing experience. You are still new to the managing part and you will have to prove yourself. Dealing with complaining players is part of that, you might have to re-think how you deal with them.
