This is the only way I managed to re-sign Dybala....although I had to get my DOF to renew after 2x unsuccessful attempts by myself. Roma is certainly a challenge this year round, relying on loans for the coming seasons, until you get prize money from Champs League etc. I managed to recoup about 15m in transfer budget, so trying to be clever with that. Finished 3rd in my 1st season, crashed out of Europa to Celtic. In short, Jose is right, Roma are skint.

I've started with my beloved LFC for the beta for a light hearted fun save...which I may continue once full version is out. Currently top by 8 points. Giving some youngsters minutes in Europa. Trying to keep it as realistic as IRL, managed to sign Andre for next season. Looking at Boey as a back up to Trent. Signed Inacio as we have been linked with him. Sold Thiago for 20m and Matip for 10m in December before they were free to agree pre contracts. Been given a hefty 114m to play with in January...now this is where it will get silly. Raphinha on loan as back up for Mo. Then looking at either Silva or Diomande. Also short in DM, so thinking of bringing someone with experience who is slightly better than Endo, or just wait for Andre? Will give Bajcetic minutes off the bench to build him up. Any other options you'd suggest to spend the budget?

Obvious take, but Bayern are just ridiculous. 4 seasons with Gladbach and I've been so close, yet so far. 6 points behind twice, 1 point behind being the closest. Really does deflate you, when you have such a good season and still miss out...

Napoli are insane to manage in this year's version. The players you've listed are ridiculous. Keeping hold of Osimhen is the only struggle. And the players wanting new contracts which they deserve. Weirdly enough, the AI is hit and miss with them. Atalanta were my only challengers. Gone for Roma again, more of a rebuild. Lost the first season to Alatanta after they beat me in the 39th game, as we ended on level points.

A keeper is a must within the first two seasons. Used to love Hradecky in previous versions, hopefully he isn't that bad for me. Did you make any signings? Extend any of those whose contracts are expiring in first season?

The computer failed to avoid relegation on my Inter save....tied on 30 points and finished 18th 😂 It does seem a little unrealistic though, so I reloaded my save and they finished 17th.. Shall I see how they get on in Serie B just for a laugh 🤔😂

Was waiting for your updated screenshots dude!? But I get that haha. Osimhen went to Liverpool on my save, which I'll take as that's my team, but still not easy to find a replacement. Gakpo is the one I've gone for, will rotate him with Raspadori and see if they can both perform.

Did you manage to keep hold of Osimhen? Real Madrid have triggered his release clause in my save.....

I think the main lesson in this is, try to tie them down 2 years before the contracts expire. These types of players will always do this, to try to join an elite team.

Has anyone had any luck with re-signing players who say they'll be exploring their options with a year left on contract? I don't remember this being so common in FM22, it's a nice feature as it's a huge part in football now... Is it worth selling the asset (Zaniolo) for maximum, which would be £60m, or see if he will renew in November/early Dec?

Very true. They have a lot of high potential youth players. Big rebuild, impossible to keep Lukaku and then the financial issues too....

Into my 8th season with Roma, the longest I've ever gone without getting bored after a few seasons. Won the league 5 times. Champions league once, in second season. I signed Virgil at the ripe old age of 37, he has pretty much replaced Christian Romero who was first choice with Scalvini. Abraham wanted a new challenge so he left to join West Ham. Sesko and Lucca are my options now. Tempted to sign Harry Kane (35 yo) in a hope that he can return the title to us from Juve. I can get him for 19m in January, or try to get him in on a free? What are your thoughts? Money isn't an issue, the only issue is the non EU quota as I would have gone for a South American newgen. For what it's worth, Immobile is still smashing it for Lazio, so I think Kane could definitely do a job in Italy.

One final save with the updates, with Roma before FM23 Keeping hold of the top players will be key as ever. Sold Mkyhtariyan, El Sharaawy, Diawara, Santon and Perez. Loaned in Ocampos, Suso and signed Isco who has turned out pretty average. Knocked out of knock out rounds of Conference League, so unfortunately couldn't do a Jose 😑 Have £20 million in January to make some squad improvements, any recommendations?
