It was a case of fifth time lucky as Nantwich who were beaten in the playoff final last season finally sealed promotion to the National League.  it's yet to be seen how the club will deal with promotion as we are currently up to our eyes in debt and barely treading water.  Stadium expansion costs are quite expensive , just to meet league requirements and will take along time to pay for itself due to the fact we only get around 450 at a game.

Statistically the season will go down as an improvement though that will offer skant consolation following defeat to Tamworth in the Playoff Final.  Despite the lofty finish it was really a season of turmoil and one where i was getting close to getting the boot for losing the dressing room following a series of heated battles with key players over poor performances and underachievement as the club were 12th up to mid October. The fixture list where i played three of the bottom four in a row aided my turnaround though it was never going to be enough to catch champions Macclesfield Town as they lead throughout. In the playoffs a 116th minute winner from substitute Emmanuel Adebiyi saw off Harrogate Town in front of a record crowd but losing the decider.

Due to club finances which are now starting to get worrying i have not yet been able to obtain any coaching qualifications

    National League North

Following on from defeat in last season's playoffs Nantwich Town once again proved to be one of the better sides within the division but still lacking a little quality in certain areas to make a title challenge . Another bash at the playoffs was on the cards following a fifth place finish . Once again we were pitted against Telford in the playoffs with the Shropshire side gaining revenge for last season's defeat.  Nantwich will once again ply their trade within the National League North.

In the cups there was some success followings wins over Marine , Sutton Coldfield and York City the club qualified for the First round of the FA Cup before been hammered by Port Vale at Vale Park,  Progress was made within the FA Trophy which brought some much needed coin to the club but eventually were beaten at the semi final stages by Macclesfield Town,

    National League North

Following last season's 16th place certain elements of the system were not working , most noticeably the woeful defense.  A couple of tweaks to improve team shape and most of the side signed up for another year , a complete new defense was added to try aid Nantwich Town as they faced their second season within the National League North.  Things were slow at the start before Nantwich found themselves within the playoff positions from early November although like other miles behind leaders Stockport County who would go on to claim the title at a canter. As the months rolled on Nantwich proved themselves to be a capable side though probably playoffs but even the most ardent fans wouldn't back them to get through the playoff system.

Any hope faded actually on the day where playoffs we confirmed , league top scorer Daniel Griffiths would be ruled up to two months with an ankle injury . A 2-0 win against Telford United in the playoffs before going out to Kidderminster Harriers.

    Nantwich Town 2019/20

A solid yet unspectacular debut season within the National League North saw Nantwich meet board expectations by avoiding relegation.  With a chronic lack of depth within the squad and financially hamstrung The Dabblers relied heavily on strike duo Tinashe Chakwana and Marcus Dinanga to maintain a place above the drop zone.  Trying to pick up Dinanga when his contract expires with Burton Albion is high on the priority list alongside fixing the woeful defense .  With 76 goals conceded the club ranked 4th from bottom within the division.

  6. A season which initially promised so much before an injury ravaged November and December ruined any real chance of challenging for league honours.  These injuries though did provide Mikey Tuttle a chance to cement a place alongside Gary Hart as academy products within the first team . The last two seasons haven't been so kind so probably only one more player will come through within the next season from the academy.

Season started with a last gasp winner against Manchester United in the Community Shield within United getting revenge for the defeat in the Carabao cup . Similarly it was a late winner which seen off Tottenham in the FA Cup .  In Europe we got out of the group before going out to Inter Milan in the first knockout round and will now drop down to the Europa League next season.

  7. Handing youth a chance finally started to pay off as the first silverware arrived at St Mary's under Ferguson's reign along with Champions League qualification. Alongside Yan Valery , Matt Targett to break into the side from within the club Gary Hart has made significant improvements following his loan spell at Walsall last season.  Henson Noel and Mikey Tuttle on loan this season at feeder club Walsall will join up with the senior squad next year.

  8. Further squad building took place within the second season where there were small gains in the league to 9th , Still along way behind the top 6 but its a youthful side coming through

    - Only cup run of note was a quarter final defeat to West Ham on penalties.

  9. TSG_zpsegq9iacg.png

Following the disappointment of losing the Bundesliga Title after a late goal in Dortmund gave them the league due to head to head results , money had to be spent. Given that Hoffenheim with their superlative academy , probably the best I've ever had in all my years playing Football Manager given out of my first team squad 18 of the 25 are home produced , six of which have been capped by Germany with several others within the German youth ranks out on loan gaining experience within the Bundesliga. The transfer record was broken when Suleyman Sengul a Dutch International of Turkish descent arrived from Juventus for £8.5m to replace the now retired Brazilian Maestro Douglas . This leaving French International Joseph Delauney seen as the old man in the side at a mere 31.

The season started slowly mainly due to having 8 first team players at the Olympics , Champions Dortmund were pretty much in the same boat allowing FC Bayern who were now managed by Diego Simeone , the guy who I've had the most problems overcoming whilst at Deportivo Alavés to gain a small lead at the top of the table . Schalke 04 were also proving to be in the hunt for honours come the turn of the year. Champions Dortmund though had a mountain to climb if they were to make it three in a row been 6 points adrift. All was well , the champions league group was safely negotiated though on paper its looked extreme with Chelsea , Inter and PSG though none of those sides are anything like they are now , then it came - Heinz Altmayer , a German international striker who had come through the ranks , 23 , top scorer in the Bundesliga declared his need for a bigger club. Unable to turn him round Heinz was sold to PSG for a fee rising to £66m on deadline day with Demiro Simonetta who was lethal for Lazio before his £22m move to AC Milan where he fell out with staff and was regarded a flop arrived for a new transfer record of £14m.

Simonetta netted on his debut against Union Berlin before bagging two against his former employees as Hoffenheim progressed in the Champions League. The French league at this point is a complete joke in terms of European football and drawing Marseille in the quarter final was pretty much seen as a bye and so it proved. FC Bayern defeat the champions Athletic Bilbao as Borussia Dortmund ended Arsenal's aspirations.  A nervy 1-1 draw at the Westfahlonstadion ensued before a Simonetta hattick in a 3-2 home win ended Dortmund's double aspirations as they were still in the Pokal. They did though defeat FC Bayern in the league to turn the tables giving Hoffenheim the knowledge that victory over Eintracht Frankfurt would secure the league title. The league was gone but a double was still on the cards for FC Bayern and Simeone and so it was for Hoffenheim with Thuram

At the Millennium Stadium Simonetta's early strike was cancelled out as the teams went into half time all square. Spanish midfielder Ramos who was signed on a free from Real Madrid in the summer put Hoffenheim in front before Simonetta increased the margin , Bayern piled forward and were unlucky not to pull at least one back after hitting the post but left back Shkodran Lika added a undeserved fourth into stoppage time . Simonetta won the UCL Golden Boot despite only playing since January whilst Altmayer still finished 5th in the Bundesliga top scorers list despite only playing 5 months . I am excited about this side and the youth coming through where 4 17 year old's made their first team debuts and it will be hard leave but it will take over from Deportivo Alaves as the longest served club due to the Club World's later in the year.

I am now rated as unambitious ,was previously loyal which is a shame as i have never bothered progressing my badges beyond Continental C as i have no desire to manage top clubs.

it's now been 23 years since Egypt picked up the ACON , Elneny is now my assistant coach , Sobhi a potential wonderkid back in the day is now approaching his 36th birthday but their was certainly enough talent within the squad to inspire aspirations of once again becoming African Champions. The Bundesliga was well represented with Abdel Salam , Abdel Galil and El Sayed providing the spine of the team.

Domestically its looking ever likely that Borussia Dortmund who have won the last two Bundesliga's will relinquish their title this season with FC Bayern , Hoffenheim and Schalke 04 battling it out at the top

  11. TSG_zpsegq9iacg.png

Actually struggling with words to sum up the season as Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund went toe to toe in the battle to become Bundesliga Champions 2032. The gap throughout never extended beyond three points , the challengers like FC Bayern and big spenders Wolfsburg were never seen as a serious threat. The season kicked off at home to Borussia Dortmund in the DFL-Supercup where a late winner from subsitute Iosu Diaz gave Dortmund the trophy in front of a packed house. It Proved to be a good warmup match especially with a much fancied Arsenal awaiting in the Champions League Qualification Round. Hoffenheim rose to the occasion and saw off the Gunners to enter the group stages despite losing in London.

Porto , Basel and Fernebache wasa  pretty decent group on paper as outside of Turkey Fernebache had done nothing over the past years leaving just Porto to challenge for the group. Revenge against Borussia Dortmund was had in the Pokal 3rd Round. Whilst defeated in Portugal the group stage was easily managed and Manchester United were next on the list . The Mancunians were unable to overturn the 3-1 opening leg victory as Hoffenheim squeezed through. Borussia Dortmund gain revenge for their Pokal defeat winning 3-1 at the Westfahlen to take control back in the league.  European Champions AC Milan were next up in Europe with the italians blitzing their way to another Serie A title but a 0-0 draw at the San Siro gave them something to ponder on after missing several clear chances with Hoffenheim reaping the benefits in Germany. Borussia Fell and the last German hope were put against Athletic Bilbao in the semi final . It was the end of the road with the spanish side proving superior winning both legs narrowly.

With injuries mounting up the Pokal had to be abandoned with a severly improvised side been lined up against Mainz in the semi final with a view the fixture against them three days later in the league was far more important . Three games to go all was still in play though somewhere i needed beat their result , the games past both drawing game 33 , still no sign of a flinch in the armour . Game 34 - Dortmund v Mönchengladbach , Hoffenheim v Schalke 04  - Gonzalez free Kick 33 mins - 1-0 Hoffenheim , Champions Elect , Egyptian Midfielder Galil rattles crossbar on 78 mins , 86 minutes the crowd go silent Dortmund had scored and thus snatching the title unless another goal . The goal never came  - League Table

Currently 18 months now into my Hoffenheim career and things are starting to take shape though my latest progression may hinder me with the additional European football on the cards next season. The season started with bewilderment amongst supporters as German International Striker Enrico Bonk was sold to Wolfsburg for €25m as funds were needed to bolster the squad who had previously finished 7th.

With the money invested Hoffenheim spend most of the season battling it out with Cologne for the final champions league spot. The final League table is not really a true representation of the league itself as it looks closer than it actually was . Borussia Dortmund won the league pretty much at a canter and took the foot off the gas towards the end, Bayern failed to muster a challenge but pretty much always sat in second place throughout.

In the Pokal following a 12-0 win in the opening round , Hoffenheim struggled to beat Armina Bielefeld and Red Bull Leipzig before been drawn at home to Bayern. A resolute defensive performance lead to a 2-1 win in front of a packed house and setup a draw against second division side Bochum.  After disposing of Bochum Bayern Leverkusen awaited in the final with goals from Haider Gonzalez who came in to replace Bonk been the hero

  13. @vikeologist The Mainz thing is purely cos i have been at their ground though that could be said for near 100 other clubs dotted round europe. This year i am trying to complete with first time club winners though it does cut my options down a fair bit in terms of who has litteraly won nothing major through their existance as a football club. I have a career path , clubs listed though it depends on opputunities to manage certain clubs , which is why when Hoffenheim came along i jumped rather than waiting for Mainz who were my original choice

  14. TSG_zpsegq9iacg.png

    Hoffenheim

Following my stint in Russia a spell of unemployment followed whilst waiting for a club with no top level honours to come available. Whilst Mainz would have been my choice within Germany it was Hoffenheim who offered a project at the right time and the Arrogant Andorran Bob Thuram accepted the challenge of toppling the dominant Bayern and Dortmund within the Bundesliga. The Project comes with stalwarts Oochs , Sule , Amiri and Gimber who have played their entire careers at the club now all past their sell by date and in need of replacement and a top youth system though with no much in between so a full revamp will be required . Unlike Krasnodar where Russian Roubles were available in abundance the clubs finances are not in great shape so I am expecting it will take several years to mount a serious challenge .

Internationally after spells at Honduras , Czech Republic and Croatia i have yet to experince any success

    v3_zpskhy79mpz.png

  15. @vikeologist Yeah I have a little career path in mind though obviously the stars need to align for it to become possible and I already have enough reputation to take over those clubs.  Like for example I will manage İstanbul Başakşehir at some point in the years to come providing Fenerbahçe continue to dominate domestic football. I also have clubs in the major nations selected but there is nothing available at moment so will plug on in Russia , my shortest reign currently is still +1000 days . I want to leave legacies in this challenge this time round , Tucumán per example did manage win Copa Argentina again several years after my departure with names I brought trough their youth system.

  16. FC_Krasnodar_zps47sz7syy.png

    FK Krasnodar

Following my Departure from Alavés I scoured nations for another club with the tools available to mount a decent challenge within their respective league but had not yet been able to win their first trophy. My Initial choice was unsuccessful , due to the bug with International management as I have no doubt a manager who had just won the league in Spain with an unfancied side would walk into a job in Turkey.  I will be keeping a very close eye on that club and hopefully will get to manage them in their quest for honours.

Towards the end of 2027, the job came available at FK Krasnodar who were in the bottom half despite having the basis of the very good side ,  2 young strikers at the club who were both Russian Internationals , a Serb International  who was the talisman of the team also . The U21 National Captain - money in the bank - the tools were there with some changes , the lack of a true no 10 for my system and a keeper was needed urgently as the one I had couldn't catch a cold.
Things turned round in the second half of the season though wins were turned into draws by my calamitous keeper things were looking promising.  Eddy Suarez  a player who I had tried sign at Alavés from Independiente Santa Fe was nearing the end of his contract and roubles had to be sent in this direction. We agreed a nominal fee of 325k to take him a few months early . The biggest deal actually happened in Moscow where CSKA seemingly bowed to their Big Name Signings to appease fans by signing  an aging Jan Oblak allowing me to knick their other keeper on a free transfer. Yes Oblak did win the clean sheet bracket 15 to Demetradze's 14 but he is now retiring whereas Demetradze is 10 years younger and has just picked up his 4th cap for Russia.

FK Krasnodar without European football raced out of the blocks taking the maximum 45 from 15 games beating Zenit 4-0 away though they had travel away to Tottenham a couple of days before . A 12 point gap was opened up , the best offense along with the now best defence , despite a little wobble with three successive draws against low sides following the Winter Break , FK Krasnodar simply obliterated everything in front of them in an invincible season.

Internationally I have done nothing as have had dump sides to move club - Currently Croatia though they may need be dumped if another opportunity of a club with 0 success come up , Otherwise I'll sit here in Russia for time being

    Untitled_zpsyjedozaz.png

  17. The International Bug is a bit of a pain alright , had to leave Czech Republic who I thought could challenge in a couple of years given the youth which was coming through in order to get a new job following departing Alavés. Now with Croatia who are inferior in many areas but will see what happens over the coming years.  Like Tucumán and Alavés the new club should be picking up their first pieces of silverware unless a spectacular collapse.

@KaiserwatmanCongrats on the Spanish league win. Nice graphic of your progress. You sticking around another season for the cup, and also I guess a viable shot at the Champions League? Are you planning on getting into international management soon?

@vikeologist Yeah I am involved in International Football , currently qualifying for Euro 28 with Czech Republic. I'll update my graphic when another role comes up . In truth the Alavés side is close to breaking up with players wanting larger contracts which is simply beyond the clubs capacity given Estadio Mendizorrotza only holds 19k.  Stefan Savic and Nicolae Stanciu have also retired. The Big clubs are here now to pillage waving large amounts of euros so I'll probably leave Spain at this stage.

  19. Deportivo_Alaves_zpssks5fusn.png

    2027 Season

Over the past few seasons Deportivo Alavés have been amongst the elite with La Liga Santander with the tiny Estadio Mendizorrotza been a true fortress where teams rarely took three points though the one thing obvious with Alavés was the lack of a pure world class striker though not helped by their tiny budget in comparison to the other elite sides. The breakthrough once again took a step backwards as Bayern Munich met the release clause to take former Atletico Madrid striker Acosta to Germany. Callum Gribbin also left in the summer though the media were already pretty aware his replacement  was already at the club . The media acknowledged the defence had been strengthened , midfield had more depth but the question was who was going to lead the line , who was going to elevate the club, a club which was run semi communist style where everyone pretty much got paid the same regardless of roles.

It started off with a phone call , an experienced Spanish International who had been banished to the PSG Reserves before contract termination , serious pay decrease but full faith and minutes on the field. I explained that Portuguese striker Ivan would move deeper into the 10 role freeing up the coveted number 9 position. Le Equipe simply put a ? on the back page shocked by the news  , Marcha a more positive Final Piece ? , noting the clubs need for a true world class striker . Alvaro Morata had signed for Alavés.
Following the World Cup Allegri's Atletico were slow out of the blocks losing to Betis and a draw against lowly Cadiz before the meeting at the Mendizorrotza in September. Uruguayan Defender Niguerez signed from Barcelona in the summer headed Alavés in front though it was short lived as Baretto soon equalised.  Ivan gave Alavés a 2-1 lead going into half time . Seconds after the restart Atletico equalised and had the better of the second half as Alfred Gomis kept them at bay before Morata was fouled 5 mins from time in the box , He slotted home,  a goal which actually won the league as results carry more than goal difference . The game at the Vicente Calderon was a dull 0-0 in February.

Alavés who were top of the pile all year were knocked off in April and it looked like the season would turn to yet so close yet but there was another twist , Atletico held at Villarreal .  Going into the last game Alavés beat Celta Vigo 3-0 to lift the title on record .  Morata lead the league in goals with Ivan excelling in the no 10 role and getting capped by Portugal

    World Cup 2026 Report

Following my departure from Honduras who failed to get out of the World Cup 2022 group stages I've been in charge of the Czech Republic who came through a group of Russia , Czech Rep , Denmark , Norway and The Faroes unscathed . A record of 5-3-0 was enough to seal qualification for Canada 26.  There has been a resurgence of youth coming through for the Czech's over the past few years with many at top clubs dotted around Europe to the extent to liken to the 96 side though its early days as they are quite young.
