  1. Thought I'd try disraeli strikerless this time. Kind of mixed feelings about my first game (attached).

Note that half-time score was 3-3 and they had only 3 shots compared to more than 10 of mine, most of them one on ones. And by the way, I can't understand how the game calculates clear cut chances. I'd say when my striker who has been first scorer 3 years in a row goes free against the goalie and decides to aim for the woodwork, it's a pretty clear cut chance to me.

  2. After a lot of frustration with echoes 4-2-3-1 (excellent at start but AI seem to adapt rather quickly), I switched to a combo of the updated echoes 4-1-2-1-2 for easier opponentsand venom & faith 4-1-3-2 (21.6 version, I just changed long throws) for tougher ones. Seems to work like a charm!

I'm using those with Wrexham at League 1 after 2 straight championships at Vanarama national and league 2, and leading the table by far. I do have the best players in the league, so you might consider my setup a top team tactic.

  3. More impressions from new ME, using Holy Ghost Fire 4-3-1-2 with a good team in Vanarama national.

I was dominating everything with 21.6 and truth is I was at the point that I expected the ridiculous AI reaction, but with 21.7 it seemed I was not playing that well, so I went for an experiment.

I replayed the same game with the same line-ups several times and the pattern was always the same. Early goal for me and then my strikers went idiotic missing easy chances and hitting the woodwork. Then at some point an opponent on steroids took the ball from his own half and scored, or they suddenly became Barcelona and my defenders started to get stuck in mood. Bottom lime, the equalizer always came pretty fast. This pattern usually went throughout the game which always (and I really mean every single time, at least 5 in a row) ended up a high scoring draw. I even got a 4-4.

So next time I scored early (2nd minute) I switched immediately from attacking to cautious, nothing else changed. I won the match by 7-2...

So yeah, tactic is great, ME not that much.

Just as an observation wing play looks different in final third and more woodwork.

When FMRTE is updated I will check on the long test on tactic performace. There was only GK Distribution last time but tactic results were down.

I also noticed much more woodwork and missed one on ones.

Seems that apart from throw ins, corners and indirect freekicks were tuned down a bit as well. Direct freekicks look the same, I still see a bunch of Messis scoring from everywhere in the Vanarama league.

One final notice, it seems that AI reaction to big winning streaks is a bit more realistic. So, with the exact same team and tactics (4-3-1-2 btw) that I was having 30 shots per game vs 5 by the opponent and end up with something like a 2-2 draw, now I'm getting a lot less shots. Watching a match on key, I might not get a single highlight until half time at some cases. On the other hand, if I'm having a great first half, I find myself cornered on the second half more than I used to.
