  1. Matlock Town season 2024/25 18th Championship The latest season, we struggled badly this season, my youth players who were all out on loan at the start of the season came back and i wanted to start playing them, fortunately/unfortunately Stoke bought my leftback Dwayne Burgin for 1.6million (3.6million if everything goes well). My star defender Till Cissokho was bought for 800k. Norwich took David Rawden off me for 1million. This helped with finances but left me a bit short for quality players. In January long time servant Niall Brookwell was let go to Rotherham, Hull bought one of my Senegal players recommended by my director of footy for 210k but by that point finances were bad again and i couldn't strengthen my team much. I chopped and changed tactics from 4-2-2-2 until eventually settling on a 4-2-3-1, and starting to win some games. Facilities haven't been upgraded due to financial problems but fingers crossed next season we can continue our good form from the end of the season. Here's a pastebin with imgur photos https://imgur.com/a/8vFa8mR and my Twitch channel where you can see my progress live. https://www.twitch.tv/madmcman/videos?filter=all&sort=time Although there are long periods of time where nothing happens Season | League | Position | FA Cup | League Cup | Notes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2025/26 | Championship | 18th | 3rd round | 2nd round | 2024/25 | Championship | 10th | 3rd round | Qtr Finals | 2023/24 | League One | 2nd | 2nd round | 2nd round | EFL Trophy North Qtr Final 2022/23 | League Two | 1st | 3rd round | 1st round | 2021/22 | National League | 1st | 3rd round | N/A | Turned Pro 2020/21 | National League North | 1st | 2nd round | N/A | FA Trophy Winners 2019/20 | National League North | 10th | 3rd Q round | N/A | 3rd Q round
  2. Matlock Town season 2024/25 10th Championship We couldn't get any constancy in the championship but we did finish a respectable 10th. We got all the way to the Qtr Finals of the league cup with a 1-1 win in penalties against Liverpool, 2-1 win against Newcastle before Bournemouth put us out 3-1. In the FA cup Arsenal put us out with a 2-0 loss. Our facilities haven't changed and Niall Brookwell didn't progress as much as i wanted so was on the bench most of the season. I seem to have mixed up the pastebins so https://imgur.com/a/YiyYuuk has images of players from this season, this is why you should always make the post to the forum after the season ends. 3. Matlock Town season 2023-24 2nd League One League one was easily won by Bolton, we managed to clinch 2nd In the league cup we were put out 1-0 by Walsall and in the 2nd round with a 4-2 loss against Luton. We were more successful in the EFL Trophy North, We beat Preston u23s, Man U u23s but Man City u23's put us out on penalties in the Qtr Finals. Nothing changed in our facilities as we are now heavily in debt, with a 1.9 million band loan and -1.7 million in the bank. Nial Brookwell is still with us and we have a few promising youth. again here's a pastebin of some images from our year. https://imgur.com/a/YiyYuuk Season | League | Position | FA Cup | League Cup | Notes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2023/24 | League One | 2nd | 2nd round | 2nd round | EFL Trophy North Qtr Final 2022/23 | League Two | 1st | 3rd round | 1st round | 2021/22 | National League | 1st | 3rd round | N/A | Turned Pro 2020/21 | National League North | 1st | 2nd round | N/A | FA Trophy Winners 2019/20 | National League North | 10th | 3rd Q round | N/A | 3rd Q round
  4. Matlock Town season 2022-23 1st League Two I've been busy at work as well as a few other things so i haven't had time to update my posts. 22/23 season was great for Matlock Town, We got to the 3rd round where Everton put us out 3-4 after extra time. Here are our facilities. Our stadium now has 2,000 seats and a capacity of 5,050. Our other facilities remain the same. Here is an imgur pastebin of some players etc. https://imgur.com/a/Aea0zGn Season | League | Position | FA Cup | League Cup | Notes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2022/23 | League Two | 1st | 3rd round | 1st round | 2021/22 | National League | 1st | 3rd round | N/A | Turned Pro 2020/21 | National League North | 1st | 2nd round | N/A | FA Trophy Winners 2019/20 | National League North | 10th | 3rd Q round | N/A | 3rd Q round
  5. Matlock Town season 2021-22 1st Vanarama National Taking advantage of some time off work i fired through another season today. It was a long season but we managed to finish 1st after overtaking big spenders Layton Orient (they were paying someone 10k a week at one point!) I have managed to convince the board that youth is the way to go and have now got exceptional jr coaching and established youth recruiting. My youth facility upgrade got canceled when we were promoted and they're adding 1440 seats to the stadium. I have great training facilities through Loughborourgh University too. Only Niall Brookwell stayed in the team and looks to possibly continue in it in League 2. Here's an imgur folder with some of y3's youth recruits. y1 recruits have been let go and there was no one in y2 worth renaming. We were put out in the first game of the Fa Trophy which probably helped us in the League a bit, (3-0 loss at home to Hartlepool) but managed to beat Wycombe in the 1st round FA cup before being dumped out by Accrington in the 3rd. We are now 461k in debt and have a wage budget of 27k so it might be quite hard to stay up. You can track me live on twitch but i tend not to be talking and have the sound off so it's not the most entertaining of streams. Season | League | Position | FA Cup | FA Trophy | Notes ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2021/22 | National League | 1st | 3rd round | 1st round | Turned Pro 2020/21 | National League North | 1st | 2nd round | Winners | N/A 2019/20 | National League North | 10th | 3rd Q round | 3rd Q round| N/A
  6. Matlock Town 2020/21 1st Vanarama National League North It went all the way to the last game of the season where we beat Boston Utd 4-0 to win the league. We also beat barnet 3-2 to win the FA Trophy in front of 19k fans. The Suprisingly 2nd time in Matlock's history. (we apparently won it in the 1974/75 season) In the FA Cup we got to the 2nd round beating Stockport and Burton along the way. Crewe put us out even though we had the upper hand. Facilities haven't changed much, but i keep on pestering for a larger backroom and better facilities. I've let my y1 promising player go on trial to a few clubs as i don't think he'll make it with me but he's still here slowly improving. Some Standout players for me. Niall Brookwell, Aaron Rowe, Jake Cain, Ryan Alebiousu, Cameron Thompson and Fidel O'Rourke. Who say's you can't win anything with kids. I went a bit overboard with signings but i've got the main guys on for another season so hopefully i can clear up shop and get in another batch of dumped premier league starlets.
  7. Matlock Town Season 1 Signed lots of youths that have promise, did terribly in the first few games but ended up 10th. We went unbeaten in January and started climbing up the table and at one point looked like we might make the playoffs but February was poor and we dropped away. We had no stand out players and our youth intake this season only has 1 promising player. Ashley Williams y1 Going to have a huge clearout and try and pick up some of this years premier league youth departures.
  8. After a few years out i've gone and bought fm2019, here i am using the Save 6a2 I've gone Matlock! and will be streaming on twitch as i go as madmcman wish me luck!
  9. Skelmersdale United - Vanarama Conference North - 2016-2019 Season Reports First two seasons i finished 13th, 10th then 2nd gaining promotion through the playoffs. League Table 16/17 12th 17/18 10th 18/19 2nd Games Finances- I have 2.7 million left from my huge windfall when i almost entered administration and my board sold my training facilities and got a 800k loan. FA Cup - I got nowhere here going out early in all 3 seasons. Squad - Florent Bojaj has done well for me but despite my coaches/scouts saying he could be a league 1 player he doesn't appear to be doing it. I managed to sign Jose Quitongo's son Rico at left back. He's been a mainstay but probably wont make the jump to the conference. Ismael Bouzid (former hearts player) signed for me in the last season but has recently retired so he wont be making the jump either. Its going to be hard next season as i need to sign a completely new first team with only a couple of players continuing on. 10. So i'm doing the challenge and after 2 mid table seasons of huge financial losses and facing administration with Skelmersdale United board sell my training facilities for £4,761,000 http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554289162 Then restructure my debt http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554289185 Leaving me with a 812k bank loan. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554289210 and £4,824,169 in the bank. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=554288603 Something has gone wrong here i suspect so i've reported it as a bug. http://community.sigames.com/showthread.php/441860-Skelmersdale-United-s-training-facilities-are-worth-%A34-761-000?p=10569606#post10569606 Not sure if i should continue.

  16. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - League one - 2018/19 2nd! after our amazing rise up the leagues we now find ourselves in the championship! League Table League Positions Graph Solid season Cups - went all the way to the 5th round of the FA Cup being thrashed 5-2 by Watford at home. Squad - My DoF Managed to find a great german right winger for me whilst i brought in Blair Wallace from Dundee Utd who kept us going through the start of the season. Transfers DoF brought in Marvin Morgan Jnr, Barry Bannan on loan, Rick Verbeek (decent backup amc) and Mario Kraft (decent winger) Finances - Currently poor after the stadium upgrade but i get to share with Chelsea which is nice. Key Player Profiles: Marvin Morgan Jnr - AMC who my DoF found near the end of the season. Amadou Moutari - My AMC the DoF brought in at the start of the season. He had a crazy number of assists but will be released as i don't think he can make the step up. Blair Wallace - 18 goals in 34 games. He drove us on at the start of the season only to be replaced by.... Souleymane Coulibaly - Who took over and may drive us onto the premiership! 17. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - League two - 2018/19 Champions!!! Unbelieveably we managed to turn pro and keep the majority of the players who were good enough to keep our form going! League Table League Positions Graph Right up to the last game it was close! Cups - didn't do much in anything but managed to draw with Liverpool away 1-1 and then lost 3-1 at home which was a nice money earner. Squad - My new DoF brought in some amazing players at the start of the season, i was very worried as my scouts had found no one! Transfers My DoF found me Johan Pascal, Oliver Modeste, Andres Cabrero and Max Cubbon at the start of the season. I brought in a huge bunch of youngsters around october as i had a tiny squad and had started to pick up injuries. Then my Dof found me some amazing loans! Tommy Spurr, Richard Keogh, Shane Lowry and Ross McCormack being particular highlights! Finances - 684k in the black! Key Player Profiles: Gozie Ugwu - Was worried he wouldn't manage it at the higher level, i was wrong! 21 goals in 41 games he certainly showed how good he has become. League 1 quality for sure! Shane Byrne - Started as number 1 ball winning midfielder and ended up as a sub when i brought in some loans. Not sure he will manage to step up though. Kyle Connolly - He's been with us 3 and a half seasons now and consistantly solid. I think he could make it to the Championship but the scouts / assistant think he's league 1 material only. Johan Pascal - My Dof came up with this guy. Released from Auxerre my coaches reckon he's Championship Quality! Liam Feeney - I had scouted him when he was at Milwall. He was signed by Arnett Gardens in Jamaica and i had to pay 8k to bring him in! League 1 is going to be harder i expect but i think i may be able to get a mid table position if i can strengthen the squad.
  18. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - Blue Square Premier - 2017/18 Champions! we dominated the league early on winning game after game and getting a nice comfortable lead in the league. We then went on a terrible run of games where we won 6 out of 17 only managing some draws to keep us in top spot. Luckily a win against Lincoln in the second last game of the season whilst Farnborough, Cambridge and Yeovil lost won it for us. League Table League Positions Graph Cups - Lots of replays in the fa cup. We finally met Norwich in the third round away which brought in around 300k which was nice. Squad 2 - Our Strikers played well and kept us going through the tougher games. Transfers Some good players brought in but not too many want to resign for next season. Finances - 363k in the black, we will hopefully turn professional next season which should be fun. Key Player Profiles: Gozie Ugwu - Grabbed 16 in 43 Is he up to league two though? Corey Gameiro - 11 in 42, mostly from sub appearances. Jack Munns - 10 in 39 but is on a non contract and doesn't want to sign a proper contract. Ryan O'Reilly - Solid again but he wants a fortune next season. 19. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - Blue Square Premier - 2015/16 7th. We started poorly then grinded out results to get to 6th, had a horrible time and dropped to 19th then had a run at the end where we finished 7th. our last game resulted in our biggest ever win. The season ended too quickly for us. League Table League Positions Graph - a great start but it went downhill and didn't change much for the rest of the season. We didn't do anything in the cups to warrant a post about them. 2nd round loss against sutton utd and barnsley put us out 4-1 in the 1st round of the fa cup. Squad - Finally got 2 strikers who are decent, Just need to fill that right winger position and i'm sorted. Transfers Cleared out more players and brought in quality. Got some good youths from the premiership but a couple were brought in blind and didn't live up to expectations. Finances - only 100k in the red now, another season like this one and we'll be in the black! Key Player Profiles: Gozie Ugwu - Grabbed 13 in 43 and started to turn into a proper striker. Corey Gameiro - Picked up this stiker midway through the season. He'll come in handy when we get promoted next season Ryan O'Reilly - Still plugging away in my defence. He keeps on signing with reduced wages too which is nice of him! 20. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - Blue Square Premier - 2014/15 15th! After a great start of 4 wins out of 5 at the start we went 10 games with only 1 win and then went on a very indifferent time of lots of draws a few wins and a few losses. In the close season i had a HUGE stadium upgrade and then at the end of this season i've had another stadium upgrade which is slightly more than my last one! League Table League Positions Graph - a great start but it went downhill and didn't change much for the rest of the season. FA Trophy - Out in the first game against sutton FA Cup - Dominated in the 2 games against bury but just couldn't get the goals to win. It did bring in some nice money for us. Squad - Not a bad squad but very heavy in the defense, i ended up playing my fullbacks as wingers at one point. Transfers 2 Decided in October to clear out some of the players who just weren't cutting it and managed to get a few decent players in November/January. Too late to make a difference to our season though. Finances - The stadium increase didn't help us much and we ended up 372k in the red. Hopefully with 1500 extra seats next season we'll make a bit more money. Key Player Profiles: Dali Gomez - Played a bigger part this season getting us 10 goals although he's not quite what i'm looking for. Ben Deegan - Was ever present until i got Chris Beardsley in on loan. Probably should have stuck with him. Ruben Bover Izquierdo - Signed from Boreham Wood as he was on a non-contract, he was pretty solid but not fantastic. Career Overview Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013/14 Blue Square Bet South 1st Promotion! 2014/15 Blue Square Premier 15th Survived. 21. MadMcMan- Carshalton Athletic - Blue Square Bet South - 2013/14 Champions! We were first for so long it would have been a shame if we hadn't won. It took us to the final day of the season though. We finished on 91 points League Table League Positions Graph - a fairly accurate summary of my season, really. FA Trophy - 2 replays and we went out in the 3rd round against Newport. A waste of time. FA Cup - Reached the 4th round only to have a replay and went out against farnborough Squad - Some names from my last go. Jonny Sutherland, Ryan O'Reilly Transfers 2 -Loads in a few out. Some loands to the end of the season to back up some essential possitions. Finances - 162k in the red. Key Player Profiles: Kwesi Appiah - Signed from Crystal Palace on a free, he made an instant impact when he arrived but he fractured his ribs and was out for 7 weeks so didn't play as many games as he might have. Ben Deegan - Damn this player is almost the perfect Target man. 19 goals in 39 he caused all sorts of problems for the defence. He has world class stats for a target man (but don't ask him to do anything else!) Ryan O'Reilly - Released by Stoke he was ever present in my defence for the year. Tom Bird - Replaced Zola's son when he got injured and made the position his own! Jonny Sutherland - My keeper for the season. He let in 64 over the season but we missed him badly when he got injured! He'll probably be replaced sooner rather than later. Career Overview Season League Position Achievements ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2013/14 Blue Square Bet South 1st Promotion! Next Season Try and keep some players and see who is released from the premiership. The major problem being some solid players are out of contract at the end of the season and don't look like they fancy signing reasonable contracts!
  22. Bashford decided to sack me after a poor start to the season saw us low/midtable half way through the season. restarting as Carshalton Athletic
  23. Bashley - Blue Square Bet South - 2012/13 After a long Season where we were in the upper half of the table for most of it we finally finished 3rd and entered the playoffs. Unfortunately we got Chelmsford who schooled us with a 4-1 win at our ground and a 3-2 win in Chelmsford. League Table Past Positions Cups - Bath beat me in the FA cup qualifier 2nd round and we got to the 1st round of the FA Trophy where Exeter thrashed us 3-0 Squad - I've chopped and changed this squad over the season. Whilst they all have a lot of potential only my defence and 1 midfield player are players i'd really like to keep.. Transfers - Ryan O'Reilly, Archie Love and James Hartson are the players i'm glad i got but a few have come and gone in the season as i "upgraded". Finances - Was losing a lot of money until i played a few friendlies in the international break. Ended up 100k in the red. Key Player Profiles: Ryan O'Reilly - Solid DC who i think will only get better next season. 6.87 avg Liam Head - 21 goals in 43 games with 10 assists. I decided to let him go though as i believe i can get better for next season. James Hartson - 13 goals in 28 games with 7 assists. I have high hopes he will improve. Archie Love - A solid MC who was consistently good. He broke his Ankle in April and is out for 6 more weeks. We desperately need to beef up our midfield a bit. Was a disappointing end to the Season after coming so close to promotion. I expect we may be able to get promoted if i can build on the squad. 25. I've abandoned killymoon in my NI save. They won the champions league a good number of times but the board annoyed me so much i said i'd resign if they didn't do what i wanted. They didn't so off i go! As probably the highest rated manager in the game at the moment, Colwyn Bay are very happy that i'm going to take them back to the Championship at the first time of asking! Have you had to resort to demanding stuff or has your board been quite accommodating dafuge?
