Gonna try to benchmark both this weekend or next week at the latest.

Good luck. Will be interesting to see what the difference will be compared to the results @maximo1491 got when they used only the 3D V-Cache cores on their 7950X3D.

Itching to build a whole new system myself, just waiting for parts to become available and some component pricing to drop a little bit.

  2. Here are my results courtesy of the Amazon Prime free giveaway. I did 3 runs for benchmark A, B and C. Only one run for benchmark D.

  3. (I'm hoping this isn't bundled into the ongoing FM20 Epic Store Megathread, I think it needs to be discussed separately and I'd be grateful if it's left as a standalone topic)

I haven't played FM for a few versions, so when the FM20 free giveaway came about I downloaded it. Having only played FM on Steam previously, I always assumed the pre-game editor was a part of the game in some way, (you had to look for it and download it after getting the game) so when there wasn't anyway to get it with the Epic version I was disappointed. I love to browse around and tinker, as do many other players I imagine.

I know others have asked about it on the forums and twitter, and so have I, but the only answer to any question about the pre-game editor in relation to the Epic version is that it isn't included and there are no plans to. I have asked why that might be, but no one has answered that, or I haven't seen any answer to that effect. I have seen someone else mentioning that the Windows Store version of FM has no pre-game editor either. I have also seen Miles describing it as a separate app and not part of the game, basically implying that it is a Steam exclusive as it stands now.

I'm hoping someone can answer the following:

Why the pre-game editor isn't available outside of the Steam version, technical reasons possibly or some other reason?

Will this also mean that future versions of FM on platforms or stores that are not Steam won't have the pre-game editor available to download?

    Thanks for reading

  4. Scout reports (I know it's not entirely reliable to do it this way).

I'm guessing the scouts are reporting his PA as lower than what it could be is because of the club and/or league he plays in and are marking his PA down. I guess the only way to do this is to actually sign him, but that would mean having to holiday a season and sign him to see, but I wanted to make sure I hadn't messed it up and wanted to ask why it might be lower.

  5. Hi All,

So I am playing FM19 and decided to change Gabriel Martinellis PA in the pre game editor. I saved it and started a new game using that saved database, but I am not seeing a change in his PA when I start a new game. I know the PA is a range but changing it in the editor isn't showing in game. I don't have any problems changing and seeing the PA change from other players. Could the fact he is playing for such a low down club, Ituano, be having an impact on the PA or might have I done something wrong?

    Thanks

  6. Hello All,

Another soul using FM to pass the time during lockdown. As the title suggests looking for info and clarity on this point, since this aspect of the game has changed since I last played FM. I have done some reading from other posts related to this, but no clear definitive answers, if they even exist.

I am playing FM19 and like to set my games up so that there are no transfers during the first transfer window, so I am mostly stuck with the squad I have. I have my manager attributes with max coaching badges, but no playing exp and shift as many points over to mental attributes to compensate and distribute them between determination, man management, discipline and motivating. I choose to manage Arsenal. As you can imagine I have a low reputation with the players. Did a run through and am finding it is difficult to manage and match the squad status with the playing time and keeping some players happy without it destroying the squad happiness.

The way the game has allocated the squad status for Arsenal at game creation is a little strange, but here's the breakdown:

    • 3 Key Players
    • 11 First Team Players
    • 7 Rotation Players
    • 6 Backup Players
    • 4 Hot Prospect Players

Some of the oddities include making both Bellerin and Lichsteiner First Team Players and they are both right backs, even though Lichsteiner was signed as a backup. Guendouzi is also First Team having come from nowhere and signed as a young prospect. With no way to set this in the pre game editor, I am stuck with this until I can possibly renew contracts or survive until the transfer window opens.

On the couple of play throughs I have done I have always had Lichsteiner unhappy. Is there even a way to manage two First Team squad status players for the same position? Elneny on rotation gets unhappy sometimes and Holding on backup will usually be unhappy too.

I like to rotate my players as I see fit and have a core squad of 22 with a fairly certain first 11 and the second 11 made up of both young and lower level/over-the-hill players. Hopefully someone can answer some of the following questions that might help me better manage this issue. If you have other things you might think is useful, please feel free to mention them too.

    1. Approximately how many games as either a number or percentage does each squad status equate to in playing time?
    2. Do certain player personalities make players more/less demanding for playing time for a given squad status? (If 2 players are both rotation and each have polar opposite personalities)
    3. Does player age affect playing time demands? (Younger less demanding, prime age more demanding, over 32 less demanding as an example)
    4. Different competitions weighted differently? Which competitions count towards playing time? (Champions Lge>Prem Lge>Europa Lge>FA Cup>Lge Cup as an example)
    5. Different opposition, match importance weighted differently? (Knockout games, rival opposition, high ranked teams)
    6. Over what period of time is playing time judged? (How many games they have played over the last 10 games in any competition as an example)

If it is impossible to keep some players happy due to their playing demands, what's the best way to manage it? Make promises to play more or stick to my guns of how I see his role in the team. Is it that big of a deal if you have a few players unhappy with playing time, or can it damage the overall squad?

If I manage to survive to the summer transfer window, what is the best way to deal with allocation of squad status when negotiating contracts? Offer more money to get them on a lower squad status?

Any other comments or observations welcome.

    Thanks for reading.

  7. Please clear/clarify some things for me if anyone can, because trying to choose staff members to recruit is driving me mad?

    1. When looking for staff, how much importance do I give their personality?

    2. What roles is postitive personality most important and which for which staff is it less so?

    3. Do staff peronalty traits trump any of their important attributes?

For example, if I'm looking for a 1st team defending coach. Two candidates have everything identical except for the following, one has defending attribute at 19 but has a jovial personality, the other one has that same attribute at 17 but has a professional personality, who to try to sign?

    Thanks.
