  1. Hello everyone, thought I could contribute in this thread following my save with Leeds. I've played 45 games in Championship first season so far, sitting comfortably in 5th place with playoff secured. To challenge myself and make the save more interesting, I've decided to only buy British-players. Jansson got injured for 7 months in September which was.... Not ideal. Transfers: None before the season started, decided to try out the squad before making any changes. In January went Charlie Taylor to Leicester for 3.5 mil and he was replaced by Tyrone Mings from Bournemouth for 975k. Also sold Chris Wood to QPR for 625k, just so I could renew Pablo Hernandez on loan. Tactic: 4-1-4-1 DM -> Counter/ flexible and no instructions. Most used lineup: SK / s - Silvestri FB / s - Ayling / Coyle CD / d - Bartley CD / d - Cooper / Vann FB / s - Taylor / Mings Anchor - Bridcutt / Vieira WM / s - Hernandez BBM / s - Diagouraga CM / s - Mowatt / O'Kane WM / s - Dallas DLF / a - Doukara / Antonsson Hernandez has been the best player, but none has really stood out performance wise. Dallas and Mowatt has frustrated me a lot with long shots from all over the pitch, and both refuses to unlearn the 'Shoots From Distance' trait. In the next season I will probably move Dallas to the right and find a replacement for Hernandez at the left side. Reason for that is to make it harder for Dallas to shoot whenever he gets the ball, but I'm not convinced that I can stop him from doing so. If anyone knows about some cheap british youngsters, please let me know! Will update when the playoff is over.
  2. I guess this have been mentioned before, but I can't stress enough the importance of dynamic rivalries. In my FC United save, and I'm finally in the Premier League in 2029, my rivals are currently Leeds, Liverpool, Man City and Salford. These I agree with, but clubs like Bradford PA and Chorley is also there because of competitiveness which is just stupid when both of them are below Vanarama south/north.
  3. Looking back, I think injuries was the main reason we couldn't keep up the good start. 1) I will try W-support when the new season begins! 2) He averages 20-30 completed passes per match. I'll give a ss of him, simpler that way. 3) Composure around 10 for the whole squad. DLP with 14, F9- 14 and FP 13. Same pattern with decisions, not very good all in all. 4) I will post some ss of my isolated IF later! When I look at the match I think the support is there, but he doesn't use them wisely. He (and the rest of the team) is scared to death when it comes to pass the ball backwards even if the opposition is surrounding him. Here's the IF: I think slower tempo could be a good thing, will try that out.
  4. I'm currently managing FC United in League 2, playing a possession-based tactic. It's a 4-1-2-3 DM which has been good for the last 3-4 seasons with two consecutive promotions and a good debut-season in League 2 (predicted 22th, finished 7th). The second season in League started great but after 15 matches or so things started to change and I dropped down from 1th to 10th. Problem is, I really don't know where to start tweaking the tactic. When I watch the games in real-time I notice this: * The players are going way too quickly forward with and without the ball. * F9 isn't available in the build up and ends up isolated. * Defenders always clears the ball even if there's no pressure on them. * Winger and IF also gets isolated. How I want to play is something like this: * Press high and close down the opponent inside their own half, while still controll the match with a high ballpossession and slow build-up, much like Pep's Barca. * I want the winger/IF to provide width and stretch the opponents defence in order to make space for the midfield and F9 so they build attacks. * One attacking fullback to provide width when the IF gets inside and the other supporting the winger. * Halfback for defensive cover and as a player who can circulate the ball when in possession. Here's the roles and instructions. I also use PI: W, IF and F9 --> Mark tighter.
