  1. Just finished my 2nd season with South Shield's, after winning the Conference North in the first season and making the play-off's in my second season in the Conference National...So overall things are going well, but my tactic needs some refining...

Having some issues with regards to consistency in the creation of chances, most of my creative outlets come from my wingbacks, i have tried the AMC as a playmaker but he just drops back to deep and leaves a massive void between midfield and the strikers...

Have also tried "Pass into Space" Instruction, but in the National we just give up too many chances and possession for my liking(we have the 18th largest budget in the league)

Primarily looking for feedback as i have a big squad rebuild upcoming, and maybe if there are some suggestions to improve my set up in terms of roles i can make sure i get the correct players...

Some of my own thought are

    DM(D)  DLP(D)

The above change has me concerned that we will be left defensively exposed with the attacking wingbacks, and then dropping the wingbacks to support, will i be left impotent going forward...

    Diamond → Wide 4-3-3DM

The above change has been tried, but the wide players just didn't work well at all, my CF was often isolated and the wide players were just ineffective

Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated

First season with Matlock Town is drawing to a close, it has gone way better than I ever thought, 7 points clear at the top with 5 games to play (...does the game seem easier this year or have I somehow got good at it?! haha)

A lot of it has been down to an immense defensive unit, never been 10 games in a row without conceding before ... managed to get to the 82nd minute of the 10th game! Arrrghh

How are you set up...That is some impressive defensive solidity

Started as Cray Wanderers, but came across an issue so have to restart as someone else - for some reason they didn't move back into their home ground on 30/6 as they were meant to, and instead relocated to Flamingo Park, in Miami (FL). Quite a long way to travel to play VNN games!

Can you confirm the Unique Id of the stadium as 108927 ?

Just had a gander in the Researcher DB and it seems there is 2 ground called Flamingo Park, One in Miami and another in Sidcup

Decided to take the plunge and give the challenge ago, went with the first run and South Shields was who i went with...

Just a quick question, when players are giving out about training with the following statement

"They are generally unhappy with the low level of training they are getting"

Is that just the quality (star ratings of the coaching) or the type of training i am assigning?

  5. I'm looking at setting a club cup competition that will draws certain teams...

For example, if i wanted to set up a london cup, but for it to ignore the premiership clubs...

Is it possible, to set up the competition to draw the best 16 teams while ignoring the premiership clubs?

So i was thinking if i put all the london clubs into a team pool, and for the cup the take the highest ranking 16 teams, while ignoring the premiership clubs?

@A_Sober_Paddy I already told you only a couple days ago that such questions cannot be asked in this quickfire thread because they cannot be answered in a quick and simple manner. Therefore, you need to start your own separate thread and ask again there.

I can send you a copy of the question so that you would not have to write it again from scratch.

Apologies, I assumed the keeper issue was too small for a specific thread. My previous post was in relation to defending from open play

  7. I am back...so I am still having issues with this.

In the affected leagues all clubs have cities and stadium have correct cities.

    It's sorting/reordering teams wrong..

I will use an English example, for a geographical point of view

It's like having a regionalized English league, but in the southern section you have Newcastle and in the northern section you have Birmingham. It makes more sense to have Birmingham in the south and Newcastle in the north in that scenario.

  8. That won't work, because the i am using secondary divisions.

    I'll illustrate it here

    Example Competition:

    Quote

    Louth Championship

(All the teams below will have Louth County As their Secondary Division, but will also be in the nation structure too which has promotion/relegation)

    Dundalk - Prem

    Drogheda - Prem

    Dunboyne - Reg Prem

    Parkvilla - Reg 1st

    Duleek - Reg Jnr

    Skrnne Tara - Reg Jnr

So from the above i want the teams that compete in the prem, to use their Underage squad in stead of there senior team, but i also want to make sure, that if Dunboyne get promoted to the Prem, that the they would then use their underage side instead of the senior side...

I'm trying to create a competition that would mirror the England FA County Cup structure...

  9. A couple of things have popped up.

Firstly in the Junior Leagues, there is a big gap between final game of season and county championship finals for some county's

Secondly, there seems to be a group affect of clubs deciding to upgrade their stadia, which results in numerous clubs temporarily using the same stadium. In my file, it was 5 Clare teams all playing outta of Jackman park in the 2 season, bit this didn't happen to my brother until his 6 season.

Premier and First Division sides pretty dominate the county championships, despite adding the restrictions on their match day squad(prem teams, no more than 5 o19 players, first teams no more than 7 o19 players)

Some dates for junior cups conflict and clash, and causes unnecessary fixture congestion

Check your start date, end date and setup date of competition. Probably the setup is such that it is close to the end date of the season, so sometimes there will be overlap where the setup date is before the start date of the new season. As a result, the setup date sees a unfinished season and waits for the next season.

Cheers got it fixed...also got host nation sorted...

But it seems to play all the games in the same stadium, despite having the stadiums set and assigned to different stages...

Not at my PC, so can't post a screen shot at the moment

  11. Ok i have used the Adv Edtr...

I am still getting strange teams being allocated into divisions...

I have used the regional division setting at club level, as well as the "reorganize child comp" setting...

SO in my file Lucan(from Dublin) get put into the south region, while a team from the south region(Mallow) was assigned to the Dublin region league, so straight away a simply swap of those two teams would fix that, but the game didn't do this...But clubs have cities set in the DB

  12. So i have Cup Final set for the 1st May 2021...

In the first season, the final is played on the correct date and day...

But on the second season the final gets played on a Wednesday 11th of May...

The semi final days had been played 3 days earlier that scheduled in the second year

I am working on a rework to the Northern Irish league structure to make it resemble the current English Pyramid. I am wanting to add a minimum stadium capacity for certain leagues to force clubs to increase stadium size while moving up the leagues as the stadiums are all quite small and want them to develop somewhat naturally rather than me just going through and editing every stadium in the league.

The problem is I cannot seem to find an option to do this in basic rules and even advanced rules does not seem to have it. Is this possible to do or is it something hard coded?

In Advannced Rules, under the league in question there will be a stadium rules tab, all you need should be in there

I'm pretty certain it's in the advanced rules, will have a look later and get back to you

  15. Just looking at the club reputations of many junior clubs in Ireland and comparing them with clubs around Scandinavia

    Ireland

Fairview Rangers (8 time Junior Cup Winners - A Record), flloodlit, 3G pitch & currently building a seated stand...Reputation 500

    Finland

Laajasalon Palloseura (Not won much of note), using a football ground no different from a regular junior side in Ireland...Reputation of 2300...

I can understand that, Laajasalon Palloseura play in the Finnish Third Tier(which has over 90 Teams) but they are still classed as amateur like Fairview Rangers...But the football system in Ireland isn't really a linear one, with many junior sides comparable with Intermediate sides and in some cases Junior sides potentially comparable to some senior sides

Even just looking at the Finnish Third Division(a mix of Ameteur & Semi Pro teams) the average reputation is 1325, compared to the "Third Tier" in Ireland which is 915...

I understand Football infrastructure is a lot better in the Top 2 tiers in Finland compared to LOI but below that its very mixed...

Maybe i'm living in Cuckoo land, but is there room on a discussion on the club reputations to be had for Irish clubs?
