Sacked on the day of the Play-off Final
in Football Manager General Discussion
Posted · Edited by jm_itfc
Been playing FM since 07, one of the strangest things I've ever seen!
End of the first season with Ipswich in League One, got them to the play-off final. At some point in the season, can't remember when, but I've promised the chairman to give youth players a chance in the team. I've given them some time...but yeah, not a lot.
I forgot all about this, until...on the morning of the play-off final, I get the sack! Surely this can't be right. I've reloaded the game from when last saved (I hope this is a valid excuse for scum-saving...) which is 2 days before the play-off final. The "promise" I made with the chairman expires on the day of the play-off final (typical).
So, the point of this post...is there any way I can save my game?! It's 2 days before I get sacked, obviously I haven't got anymore time to play youth players, is there any way around this? This seems ridiculous to be sacked over on the day of the play-off final?!
**UPDATE** Found a way around it. Loaded back to the 2nd leg of the play-offs. I already won the first leg 5-1. Played the youth team, and only lost 3-1. Seems to have done enough to have fulfilled the promise. Nonetheless, would like to know if this is considered a bug, or a legitimate part of the game. Sacking on the day of the final, when job security is at "stable"?!
