  1. Yesterday I was in the "meh" camp over this, started my third season looking for a change of tactic, thought I'd give this one a go starting from pre-season and the results were definitely underwhelming. once the season started I was hammered by Spurs and Hull and scraped through the first few games against teams I hope to be beating comfortably, conceding a lot of goals and generally wondering if I should just go back to the old 4-4-2 that had stood me in reasonable stead up until now. About 10 games into the season something "clicked" and I'm now on an 18 game unbeaten streak, played 25, won 23, scored 66, conceded 13.

Two things, as a relative noob to FM2010 (but old hand of the series generally) I'd suggest is give the tactic time to bed in with an established first 11 changed around as little as possible to begin with and definitely use the filters on your own team and when searching new players. You can get away with exceptions, Kyrgiakos partners Otimendi in defence for me as he scores a bucket load of headed goals from corners (8 goals in 21 appearences this year but done the same consistently for 3 seasons).

My first choice front line at the moment is Torres and Dzeko in the "wide" striker positions and Maxi Rodriguez in the middle. I'm a little surprised that it's the forward rather than the out and out strikers that, for me at least, scores the majority of goals (though all are in double figures).

And if you want my tip for a monster Left back (despite being primarily a DC) have a look at Salvatore Bocchetti, he isn't cheap by season2/3 but he's been awesome.

Mr Hough, I take any criticism I nearly wrote back, and sorry for doubting you ;)
