  2. Sun and Mondays results : Chelmsford 1-0 Welling Welling controlled the first half but went in to the break even. Chelmsfored played alot better second half scoring on the 60th minute. wile welling still unable to finish there chances. Bromley 0-1 Welling Boring first half with only 2 chances create (Welling) new signing Adelipe crossed to set up Loick Pirez in what was a tight match with Welling just edging it. Welling 4-1 Hampton And Richmond Hampton controlled the first half not given welling any opportunitys, unlucky for Hampton on of there players putting in the back of there own net straigh after kick off, Hampton did equalised with a long ball straight through the middle of the Welling defence and there striker latching on to it to finish. Welling dominated the second half and substitute Pugh went on to score a hat trick. Dover 1-0 Welling Dover where the better side in what was a poor match with not alot to report on. Welling 0-2 Truro Truro had a penalty in the 22nd minute and converted from the spot, Welling begun the second half brightly and started to dominate but like so often failed to convert there chances, they where made to pay on the 80th minute with Truro scoring there second of the game. Maidenhead 2-4 Welling In what was a high scoring game u would think there would be alot to report on but sadly Welling's manager spend it on facebook and failed to take any notes ( sorry ). Woking 2-2 Welling Woking controlled the first half scoring in the 20th minute but Welling fought back second scoring in 56h and then taking the lead on the 67th, Woking wasn't finished and scored a dramatic equaliser on the 88th minute leaving the Welling manager frustrated. Welling 2-0 Sutton Welling couldn't hope for a better start with Loick Pirez scoring in the second minute of the match, Welling dominated first half with 10 shots to Suttons 1, Second half was much like the first with Welling dominating Sutton adding a second on the 73rd minute. Could and should of been alot more. Welling 1-0 Farnborough Farnborough well and truly dominated Welling in the first half but failing to take there chances. Welling made more of a game of it second half and scored on the 71st minute. Farnborough didnt deserve to get beat and at the very least deserved a point. Overall a decent half season climbing from 17th to 9th, hopefully with a few signings and a good start to next season a play off season may be achievable.
  3. Results Welling United 2-0 Havant and Watelooville 0-0 first half Welling being the far better side, Havant raised there game second half but Welling took there chances this time with Luis Cumbers grabbing two for his team. Basingstoke Town 0-2 Welling United Basing had a man sent off and Wellings new signing Adam Vickers scored and made one on his first game for the club. Welling United 0-1 Tonbridge Angels With two wins so far in to the session Armstrong was hoping to stretch his side's the run to three, they controled the first half but failed to take any of there chances. Tonbridge made them pay scoring straight away in to the second half on what was a tight match throughout. Welling United 1-1 Eastleigh Welling took the lead just on the stroke of half time from a set piece, Oliver Poole getting his first goal for the club with a well taken header from a corner. Eastleigh clawed there way back into the game second half scoring late on in the 84th minute much to Armstrong's frustration. Over all not a bad start to my Welling career tho alot more draws than i would of liked, taking over the club mid way through the season with the club sitting in 17 i have set a target of a 10th place finish. ( hopefully both my reporting and my team will improve in the near future )
  4. Welling Utd have announced a change in manager after 20 games in to the season, currently sitting in 17th with two games in hand on the competition the club felt now was the right time to make the decision, not wanting to get sucked in to a relegation battle the club felt a new man at the helm would give the current crop of players a lift into the remaining games and help the club climb the league into a respectable league finish. The decision was made and they man they trusted with the job was Brian Armstrong a former sunday league player with no previous history in managment, they felt it was Armstrong's passion and love for the game that would shine and help get the best out there underpeforming squad, with no money to buy and the wage budget already maxed Armstrong already has his work cut out. A spokesman for the Welling supporters club announced that the majority of fans where willing to see how things planned out under the new managment.
