  1. Hey Bertie, you related to this legend by any chance?
  2. PR = public relations, not problem As for the idea, I think you get it right in your second paragraph when you say it might function as 'well' as the press conferences.
  3. <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by George Graham: <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by aston_martin: <BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-title">quote:</div><div class="ip-ubbcode-quote-content">Originally posted by Ackter: It has the potential to be the best yet, but it's not there yet. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> Came in here to say exactly that </div></BLOCKQUOTE> It absolutely has- Ive seen enough glimpses (particularly pre-patch) to see that the match engine has the potential to be an absolute delight. But what annoys me is that the game was quite obviously released too early, and the way SI seems unprepared to accept any of the quite justified criticism levelled at SI because of this. I think many are frustrated not because of issues but because essentially 8.01 shouldve been the quality we got out of the box. I thought SI moved from Eidos because of the same issue with CM4- yet a call was quite clearly made to release FM08 with a pretty major bug in the match engine, and without a release day patch being guaranteed. Im sure most would prefer the release being delayed, rather than wait for 3 mths after release for a patch that we can only hope makes FM08 the best yet. </div></BLOCKQUOTE> All great points. It's just as fun to watch some people defend the game to the point of hilarity as well as people who don't have a clue and needlessly complain about being 'cheated' just the same. The game looks great, it just needs a couple tiny tweaks to be as good as it promises.
  4. I don't think there are too many shots, rather that the game creates an unrealistic number of 1-on-1 chances (much more than in real life). Because there are normally not too many of these in real life in each match, a lot of these aren't scored in the game so as to keep the scorelines from becoming too large. It's always frustrating for me if my strikers blow a large number of 1-on-1 chances in my games, but then I just remember that in real life they wouldn't have so many of these chances anyway (but it is always fun when I have a string of 2-0/3-0 victories and the opposing goalkeeper is the MoM). I hope for this to be sorted out in next update/patch.
  5. Thanks so much for getting Direct 2 Drive up and running!! I was in contact with the Boonty tech support people, but was still having lots of problems getting it to work. Direct 2 Drive was simple and worked right away!! Thanks!!!
  6. LOL. It figures. Right as I hit "reply" here I get an e-mail back... never mind
  7. Still not working... e-mail and screenshot sent yesterday night but no reply as of yet...
  8. Still not working here. Maybe the server is overloaded for now? No big deal. Will try again later.
  9. That is just the install program. I assume once it is working you download the game within that.
  10. When do you get this error, at the point you are entering your serial code to activate? Do you have a firewall or anything? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> It is after clicking on "Buy It Now." It stalls on the first step and then times out and says to make sure firewall is not interfering (and mine is definitely off so that is not the problem)
  11. Me too. I am assuming this is just an early hiccup and will smooth out soon? </div></BLOCKQUOTE> (and yes, my firewall is turned off, so the problem is not on my end )
  12. Me too. I am assuming this is just an early hiccup and will smooth out soon?
