Calahorra B was just atrocious, they were a B team of a 3rd tier side, they had no chance at this level. Yes. Does it matter? Not really. Oh yeah, I know, but the fact that we lost more than 1M in the 1st season and had to go from Professional to Semi-Pro really put a dent on my willingness to do the save. (we are 900k on the red at the moment, for example, with me just slashing every single legacy player that we had and cutting the wage bill to a tenth of what it was) But I will try to at least put the team slightly better financially

I am thinking of just reseting and getting another basque based team. With us spending just 10k a month on wages. my prediction for us to climb out of the red is 4 years, and all of that comes down to the sponsorship money. I still can't believe that we were spending 120k a month when I arrived on the team, it was just not sustainable

Oh, trust me, this 100% tracks with football clubs in Portugal. Also, hasn't the time to build a new stadium been changed to 10 years now?

We managed to stay in the league through the Playoffs, but whenever Garmendia was hurt, we just stopped scoring. The fact that he damaged his Achilles and looks to be very visibly getting worse is worrying. However, with out financial woes, he is probably leaving us at the end of the season. 3 - Jaume One of the Youth Players that was already on the team when I joined, he really stepped up this year with 17 goal contributions. He is probably our best player going forward. Youth Intake 7 Elite talents is huge. Most of them with decent personalities as well. This are out best 3 talents 3 very solid talents that are probably starting right away next season. Good do with a better cup run, but when it all comes down to it, we stayed up pretty easily. We actually started the season with 4 goalkeepers, for some reason, but we did get rid of 2 of them during the season. Standout Performers: 1 - Gorka Estrada Ever present on our squad be it in the middle or down the left, he was our best performer of the year, and with 20 goal contributions, we expect more of the same next year. His biggest drawback is his HUGE wage 2 - Ibon Barandiaran A rock between the posts. A contract renewal saw him reduce his wage in 50%, so we are actually set at goalkeeper for the next couple of years. 3 - Iker Garmendia A lot of goals, but very inconsistent. He could get a brace in one game and then go scoreless for the next 3. However, with a relative low wage, he looks to be apart of the team next year, if not going even further. Youth Intake This was dubbed a Golden Generation by my (very decent for this level) HoYD. 2 Elite Talents is nothing to sneeze at, but we are signing everyone just so that we can get more bodies. According to the brilliant spreadsheet created by @WhiteCat33, these are the 3 best talents. None of them are going to set the world on fire, but having our 3 best prospects be more defensively minded is not a bad thing at all. Sociedad Deportiva Leioa Mid Season Update / Youth Intake Preview We have just hit the Intake preview 5 Star Excellent Intake, but nothing really popping out as far as quality, it appears. We just need bodies at this point When it comes to the league, we are having a pretty safe season. The legacy players that are here despite basically all of them being super overpaid, are very decent and with us playing a 433, we are performing way above expectations. However, there is the financial threat looming over us. As you can see, we are spending over 1 and a half million Euros per year on wages. That is just not sustainable and that means that next year we are basically going to be playing with all youth players

My save with Leioa is ongoing, but this team is a mess financially. We are spending over 100k€ a month and we have 5 or 6 players on more than 10k a month. When the intake comes, I will basically sign everyone and try to get rid of those players ASAP, so that we don't collapse financially

Sociedad Deportiva Leioa So, after a couple of restarts where the only Basque teams promoted where B teams, we end up at Leioa. A small town of around 30 thousand near Bibao, the team has been an historical feature on the 3rd tier of Spanish football. However, with the Spanish reshuffle in 2020/2021, they went straight from the 3rd tier to the 5th tier. They play their games at Estadio Sarriena that can hold 2000 people and that was built in 1988. Gora Leioa!

No, going to go with a Spanish Basque team

I was thinking of doing a Basque based save this year with one of the lower league Spanish teams, but decided to turn that into a YAC. I will limit myself even more and only play youth players if they have Basque as their 2nd nationality (which, if I am not mistaken, they can get in 2 years)
