  1. First half was really good, enjoyed watching us. Second half I missed a bit of but was quite poor. The movement and everything just seemed to disappear.

Hopefully when it matters they keep up the intensity for longer, the way we were constantly moving will cause problems for any defence.

The worst thing is that you can tell the majority of football fans buy into this nonsense as Sterling is regularly booed at away grounds throughout the domestic campaign (and nobody can give a real reason for it, bar Liverpool fans). It's absolutely shocking that they're allowed to print such nonsense and lead a campaign against a young man just trying to, essentially, live his life.

Besides, who actually gives a **** what the lad wants to spend his money on? Who cares if his car is dirty? WHO CARES WHAT TATTOO YOU CAN'T SEE COS HIS FOOTBALL SOCKS REACH HIS KNEES? :D Why do people read this crap and buy into it like it paints an accurate picture of the person RAHEEM is?

The lad is the primary target of racial and sensationalist journalism and it leads to him being portrayed in a negative light which impacts on fan reactions across the country, leading to him being a mostly disliked figure, when he's done absolutely nothing. As someone said above, he is inspiring in the way he just gets his head down and continues to bang them in, especially given anything he does do wrong on the pitch is exaggerated a million times more.

I guarantee that if England bomb out in fairly embarrassing fashion, the scapegoat is going to be Raheem, regardless of whether or not he is the worst player that plays this Summer, he will be the scapegoat.

Surely Raheem could sue some of these publications for libel? Scots Law is different to English Law when it comes to journalism. I have no idea. But up here he'd definitely have grounds for a defamation lawsuit  (The broader term given to slander and libel in Scots Law).

I remember he got an awful lot of bad press after the Euros, particularly after the Iceland game. He was the only one who looked remotely lively during that game and won the penalty. Not to say he played well, the whole team was gash, but he seemed to get more abuse than anyone.

I pray that this makes people realise just how abhorrent the behaviour of these awful excuses for newspapers are but sadly the type of people who read them regularly won't be put off by this. In fact, they're the type to make a stupid petition about dropping him because he's a role model and therefore shouldn't have a personal tattoo for personal reasons.

Honestly, I admire Sterling for the way he brushes all this off. I think I'd have exploded on social media by now calling the sun et al a bunch of ***** :D

  3. I just find it funny that he's criticised both for spending too much and also for not spending enough, he literally can't win.

The sun and the daily mail are both absolute disgraces and it's time more people realised this. I know the majority in here do, but when there's still millions buying their papers and going to their websites, it shows how popular they unfortunately are.

Pulled the trigger on Giroud e/w and boosted it to 44/1

Now that is a proper gamble as Deschamps probably doesn't know who his starting strikers are and it is either Giroud/Griezmann or Giroud on his own or Mbappe and his own.

Even coming off the bench, Giroud is the type who can score goals. With the group France have, it's a solid bet.

Yeah, if Salah doesn't make the final squad he will need to be replaced.

Presume once it's confirmed he's out I can make a pick yeah?

This is a right nightmare, BBC reporting dislocated shoulder yet apparently Egyptian FA are optimistic he can play in the world cup :D

  10. That's fair, just want to be sure that's the rule first before doing anything. I'll wait for Gizzy's official verdict and full confirmation he's out before picking someone else.

Though if this was the rule in 2014 I don't see why we'd change now but yeah.

  11. I will if that's the rule but it might cause all sorts of issues if we end up taking out players with injuries. Could get a couple in the pre world cup friendlies and it will be a right ball ache. Especially when it's not 100% guaranteed the extent of the injury (I've seen one tweet saying chances of world cup are high and another saying he may miss start next season, so nobody knows really just yet)

This isn't meaning to sound moany btw, but I'll go with whatever @Gizzy decides.
