  1. I think lowest is 0.1, but that was only possible in older FM's where you could play 0-5-5 and full on attacking with everyone playing in wrong positions and then lose by more than ten goals. I think nowadays the game doesn't let you put an outfield player in goal anymore.

Without trying, I think I've seen 3.4 once in FM10, but that may have been a 3.8 too and I just misremembered. I remember it was for a CB who made 2 crucial mistakes in the same match. First time I had ever seen a player perform that badly.

  2. For me three versions stand out:

FM07 was my first FM so I'm a little biased towards it, but I like how quickly you can go through a season. I bought it again in a thrift shop a couple of years ago, but that one seems to have a somewhat game-breaking bug with Dutch teams.

Also fond memories of FM10. It may have been a bit on the easy side, though. I'm not good at this game (and certainly not back then!), but no matter what tactic I would create in FM10 I'd get decent results at worst. This was the version I put the most hours in.

FM13 Classic is another one I played a lot. That mode was just what I needed to rekindle the FM-fire, as I felt the gameplay of full fat FM had already started to feel a bit slow by then. When looking at it from a business perspective, I understand why they axed the PC version, but I'm still sad it's gone. The fact we never got a pre-game editor for it had always felt disappointing to me, too.

  3. This is on the official UEFA website about the deal with SI from last year:

    Quote

Although it will not feature in Football Manager™ 2023, the flagship women’s football club competition, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, is also included in the licensing agreement and will debut in a future version of the game. Additionally, Football Manager™ 2023 will be unveiling new game features in the coming weeks across the Football Manager social media channels, the Football Manager website and FMFC, the Football Manager members’ hub.

While things could always change, especially when it comes to licensing, I think it's likely the UEFA licence deal runs to FM25 at the very earliest.

  4. Does the blog mention anything about the winter transfer window, loan deals and/or managerial (or other staff members) sackings in the 'Real World' option? I would like to read the blog myself (I'm a member), but I can't log in. Already submitted a ticket, but it's also a Friday.

You can see that the post is edited. He probably wrote something and decided to remove it, but did not know how to hide the post.

Yes, sorry, my bad. I wrote something about the J-League being in FM24 but somehow missed the general thread in General Discussion so I edited my post. Didn't have anything else to add but didn't know I could hide a post. Now I know. Thanks.

Things can obviously change. IIRC, they had the correct german national team in FM21 or FM20 in the first version that came out, but that got patched out soon after due to the usual licensing issues...

Right, I had already forgotten about that. I think that was FM19, the first year the German leagues were licenced. Maybe SI thought the national team was included too, but had to patch it when it turned out it wasn't. The latter is just speculation on my part, however.

Does anyone know if European licenses will still be in FM24 please? Thanks

That's very likely. On the picture of Grealish's attributes (first page of this thread) you can see in the yellow cards section 'UEFA Champions League'. Things could obviously always change, of course, but personally I don't think it will in this case.

Currently on mobile, so can't directly show you.

  8. Yes, they've already been working on FM24, probably since before FM23 was even released.

I think FM24 will be the version that introduces women's football and be the new features headliner. It seems like the right time to introduce it, right after the World Cup and when every European club is required to become a professional team if they want to play European football. I also think that's why the new FM23 features have felt a little underwhelming, most of the development time went into finishing working on women's football. If I remember correctly, FM18 did the same thing where its only new feature was the social feed and then FM19 came with the tactics and training overhaul.

  9. It's due to licenses, but I think it's interesting to note the J-League actually used to be in FIFA (but isn't in FIFA23) while the LigaMX and the Brazilian Série A (FIFA has been using fake player names for Brazil for years, however) aren't in FIFA23 this year as well due to an exclusive deal with Konami, yet those are in FM23.

It makes me a little worried the latter two leagues will eventually get removed from future FM titles too. Removed as in they aren't playable without the use of an editor, I meant.

  10. I like Versus Mode but I think the mode could be even better if the following things are added:

    1. Let us be able to set up the groups/KO draw and fixtures ourselves.

    2. It doesn't make sense league games are always played in the home team's stadium, even when teams only play the other teams once, while KO games are always played in some random neutral stadium, even when there are two legs. At least give us the choice if we want this to happen or not.

    3. Make it possible to watch games between AI teams again. When the mode was still part of FMC/FMT you could, so why can't we do that anymore?

    4. Make national teams available from the start, although I understand if licensing is the issue here.

  11. The main reason is there's still no mandatory promotion/relegation between Keuken Kampioen Divisie (Tier 2) and Tweede Divisie (Tier 3). It's supposed to be introduced next season, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was postponed for a few more seasons once again. In the past decade it has been postponed again and again. Not many clubs from the top three leagues have much interest in promotion either.

The Dutch FA also owns the licence rights for the teams in Tier 3 and below, whereas the licence rights for the top two tiers are owned by two different partnerships that aren't owned by the Dutch FA. The Dutch FA is really touchy about the licences, hence the Dutch NT coach being named Jan Jansen since FM13 or so and the FIFA and PES games in the 2000's either not having the Dutch NT in the game at all or having fake names. So SI may consider it's not worth getting those licence rights, even if they wanted to.
