  1. I believe that current training system has no charm at all. Training has to be the main focus for such a tactical game. But  unfortunately FM series had never manage to attract players into that. I think we need some big changes on training system. I mean that trainings needs to be visual.

    • Instead of switching the bars, we must actually participate in trainings.
    • We don't need to watch the whole training but it could be enough to watch just a few scenery according to real schedule.
    • Trying different formations for the upcoming match. Warn the player against a specific opponent player.
    • Here you can even add more ''ROLE PLAYING'' with judging players movements. Imagine that you are yelling on a player cause he is not doing well, and he responding you with disrespect. Or maybe even birthday-cakes for the birthday boy:D
    • We can have team-talks during the trainings.
    • We can score training performance.

Would be more cool to see ''go to training'' button instead of ''continue''

I wish you consider my advice.

  2. I bet you noticed the interest into lower leagues has increased IRL. There are even some movements as #againstmodernfootball.

I know that you are not interested in this, maybe because of you don't consider it profitable. But let me try my chance...

Lower league has different dynamics.  Unfortunately FM is not suited into that. You don't get the atmosphere of lower leagues.

Training methods, tactics, board and player interactions are far more different than the professional football which is presented in the game.

I can give those examples below:

    • Contracts are not always on the paper and trustworthy. It is so common to see late salary payments even dishonored drafts.
    • Boards expectations are mostly for short periods.
    • Staff allocations are much more different than pro-football. For example it is very rare to see physiotherapist in a club. Most of the time you can see a substitute player or a coach is running in the pitch to take care of an injured player. I don't even talk about football director or other staff positions. Most clubs has usually very limited staff allocations.
    • Scouting usually based on connections then the scouting range. Known managers are good providers here. But best resource here is the squad players. Usually they bring their friends as a new sign. This option has to be more active then higher league teams.
    • Players are escaping from training more often, since most of lower league players are volunteer.
    • Referees are more novice
    • Players expectations and dialogs are more different.
    • Press conference are so rare.
    • Much more high scored results.
    • Free entrance for the match. So no seasonal tickets. But clubs could organize proms before the season to get some funds.
    • Donations but no sponsors. It is so difficult to find a sponsor for a lower league team. Most of the clubs survives with donations, state aids or sugar daddy.
    • More injuries.
    • Player positions are not restricted. (It is more often to see a striker playing as central defender).
    • Different moral triggers:
    1. Club reputations has more effect.
    2. Club's financial capability has more effect.
    3. Better facilities has more effect.
    4. Equipment donations is a boost for players... (If you give a football shoe to a player, you can make him the most happy player, as long as you can make him upset if you are playing with the old jerseys :D)
    • Random events such as:
    1. training cancel (especially because of not enough players or heavy weather conditions),
    2. smoking or even imbiber players,  :D
    3. players are ignoring to use shin guards,
    4. fights between players and supporters,
    5. being late for the match (you can also be late as whole team if you just can't find the location of the away stadium :D),
    6. more de jure winnings (Most of the clubs are pulled out when it is close to the end of the season, because they have no more target in the league).

    Interface

Beside those, we definitely need some different look in those screens to suit lower league atmosphere:

    • Dressing room
    • Tactical
    • training
    • Board room

I know that most people would say that ''this could be done with background pictures'' but i am not agree with this. Here i am not talking about make-ups, but hiding some of the pro manager abilities, such as analystics. I mean which statistics are we talking about here? Most of lower league clubs doesn't even have scouts in the staff. Maybe even the tactics and training screen could be more simple for lower leagues.

I know that all i write here sounds like a new game for you guys. But i hope this would be at least a trigger for Football Manager to give an interest into the lower leagues. Please do not ignore lower leagues. I even believe that it also has more financial potential that would surprise you. I also believe that you are ignoring those leagues because of the lack of players on the db. I am agree with that. But you know what...? Amateur leagues are much more realistic and fun with generated players.

I am in this community as a Turkish Assistant Researcher for long time. I am focused in amateur leagues since this is my main interest in football. Beside that i am also releasing an amateur league patch for Turkish leagues for almost 10 years now. You can't imagine the interest in it.

I hope you would give more interest in lower leagues.

  3. Guys sorry to say but every year you are just giving more headache to modders.

You made a total mass with this new way of ''LIST'' stuff in the advanced editor. Generally when i wanted to add an extra sub-division on the list, i usually copy from the similar one above. Then i return on the rules just to change the name of the division. This is the best and easy way. But this time if i copy a sub-division, it will never appear on the list under the parent division. i simply can't find my copied division. So i just have to add new rule and write everything from the scratch.

    Thx a lot:seagull:

  4. I am trying to change the prefered squad status for a division level. Keep in mind that this is a lower league patch with fictional players. So when i set the game in the begining, i found out that ''Squad Player'' is the main type to dictate on the other squad types as well.  If i set this one as ''part-time'', i find hot prospect, fringe player, regular starter and star players are also set as part-time. If i set it as ''amateur'', then almost all players turns on amateur.

So i end-up with no solution so far....

    Any idea?

I cant seem to find it, i have tried doing alot of searches but having no luck in finding it.

give a unique number to that cup before you export it. let's say 999. after you export it just search for ''999''

In the past the limit was 512, now it is 1000 and people will still expand it. :D

It's an easy task by exporting the file as xml.

As long as better computers will be promoted, yes:P

Is  it possible to have more than a 1000 teams in a cup competition? or is that the limit?

You can do it with xml files.

    1. set maximum team as 1000
    2. First export your db
    3. open it with a simple xml editor (like notepad)
    4. find maximum number 1000
    5. change it as you wish.

Note: I don't recommend it to rise it extreamly, cause its not easy to handle such a big stage.

TBH i still dont know why they added this "hard" promotion/relegation option. Why number of teams in specific level  cant vary from year to year without any need to set "number of extra lower division teams to be promoted"?  Or they should simply add thick box with rule - use "hard" promotion/relegation math or dont use it. I can try to ask someone about this but its hard to explain to them. They also dont have time to mess with this kind of things because they dont care. Lets hope we can have again 1 hour to ask coders some questions.

I think they just want to get most people to verify their simple format db in a easy way. So they prefer to get less complain... So experienced users always finding a way to resolve the problems anyway. It's kind of politic i guess:))

too many combinations or math issues?

I believe that i fixed the math issue but too many combinations would kill me, since it would be so difficult to go back and check the issues if i make a mistake. But maybe i will give it a try again if i will be passionate:D

can u share any screenshot? what about squads and local cups? for example Turkish FA Cup etc.. Is that true? or only teams name are true?

also thank u so much for package..

No squad updates. So u better tick the option to "add players to managable teams". Regional amateur league teams will appear in early stages of Turkish cup as in real life.

4th, 5th and 6th levels are same as real-life structures with a small difference, which it is the regional division relegation play-off drawing  rule. In real life every relegation teams must draw together with it's local cities teams. It is quite impossible with the editor. So with this patch you have %70 chance of drawing with same cities team while you have %30 to draw with neighbouring teams.

7th level is created as much as possible to real-life since i didn't add any teams to the database.

I tried to follow your instructions for my custom regional leagues, but either I mistook some steps or the rules don’t work in my case.

As part of my system, I have one league with 4 regional leagues below. I want the Champions of each regional league to be promoted, replacing 4 teams from the top league, but I want the relegated teams to fall into their appropriate region.

    For example:

2 teams from Region A, one from Region B and one from Region D are relegated

1 team from each of Region A, B, C and D are promoted. Typically, one of the Region A teams will fall into the Region C league. I want to avoid this, and for this next season, Region A will have 1 extra team, and C one less.

Is that possible with your rules?

    Many thanks in advance!

It's quite easy when you compare with this dynamic relegation system.

You have to set team's regional divisions for every divisions. Plus you can try to set division's north/south/east/west border cities. You also have to set numbers of minimum & maximum teams.

I made a worksheet for the work. I will explain you later. But if you look you will see what i am trying to do.

Simply on 5th tier (regional div. groups), every  city has different numbers of teams. Depends on what position they are in the end of the season, relegation playoff starts with the same cities top teams of 6th tier.

There are 3 different scenarios depends on the how many maximum teams are allowed (1, 2 or 4 teams maximum from a single city) to promote to the 5th tier.

I made a data. now i am going to test it in game.

I forgot how to start the game in the end of the season.  I create a start date for season period but i can't fing it in game. How is it possible?

Thats how we wanted to set your decider stages - if there is no enough teams - stage wont start. I think i have your crazy files with our settings.  TBH i forgot how your system works but we can try again. Nothing is better for me than good editor challenge :D
