Good to see you still posting on here bud. Getting back into FM again (2011 version as always)

Been struggling to get into the newer FM's so decided to start playing Football Manager 2011 again as I have it installed on Steam. Started as a few different teams but I just couldn't get the feel of the team. One save I was enjoying I ended up sacked... I've now decided to manage Crewe Alexandra. I have a young 15 year old Max Clayton and 16 year old Nick Powell in the under 18's, both with huge potential. The squad is really young with Ashley Westwood being my best CM at 20 years old.
Going to use youth a lot and see how it goes.

I'm trying to edit the Oceania champions League on FM11 as for some reason random teams qualify, so a team that finishes last in New Zealand could end up qualifying whereas the league winners won't.
When I enter what nations can enter I keep getting "New Zealand league is added but no rules exist" because I've added club continental rules it won't allow me to add a nations rules. What can I do?

I'm managing Gibraltar on a old FM game so added the league myself and the country is in the European qualifiers but neither my under 21 or 19 are... They are only playing friendly matches. Why is that?

A LONG shot, I know. But I may get lucky.. Does anyone have a San Marino database for FM11 or if I uploaded the editor - Is that possible? Could someone create one. The only working one I've found has errors in the Italian leagues as its a european nations mega, I'll rather use the default Italian leagues and use a custom San Marino.

My issue is that my regens are only those nationalities. I've no idea if that's a bug, but in FM20 I had all sorts of nationalities come through. I've had one Italian/Ecuadorian regen but in 21 seasons, that's it.
Thanks for that mate. I'm taking a big step as I've spent the last year playing FM11! I had loads of different nationalities on that game. Players from Argentina, Albania and even an English player.

Is anyone still doing this? I'm about to start but have a question... The club in Italy when they start producing regens are they Italian or San Marino?

I always disable first transfer window activity, and NEVER sign any players on my first full season. I like to play a little realistic, I love signing players, so come second season it's a lot of fun, but I limit myself on number of signings.
A lot of people will boast about how they got a team from non league to Prem, but they sign a whole starting 11 every year, pathetic if you ask me, too easy.

Scotland is a go to country for me when I want a challenge. Celtic and Rangers are so dominant. On a previous FM I was managing Partick Thistle and I only lost once all year, but due to drawing a lot of games and Celtic being so dominant they still finished 10 + points above me. I tend to pick a team in the lowest playable league (League 2) and work my way into the SPL before challenging Celtic/Rangers and aiming for European glory.
I tend to manage Elgin City as they have never been promoted from League 2 since being promoted to that league in 2000. 20 + years of playing in the same league...

Hi @Smurf and @kevhamster. I hope you guys don't mind me asking as this thread title says for FM21. But could you guys reccomended a laptop to play the older versions of FM on? Primary FM12/13. I obviously don't want to spend loads of money on a laptop to play older games, but I've really fancied playing the older games lately.
FM12 says it needs a processor of a min of 1.6gz. Atm I can't find any cheap ones that are higher than 1.1gz.
any help will be greatly appreciated

I'm not sure whether Full Backs match ratings are glitched on this FM or my tactic is the reason why, but every save I've had my full backs have been garbage. Averaging a rating of 6.50 after a full season and finishing every game between 6.00-6.50. Even when a match has started and it's been quiet, not much is happening my FB ratings drop.
I play a 4-4-2 with them on defend duty. I've tried my wide midfielders on Winger, Defensive Winger and Wide Midfielder to try and help the full backs. Should I play them on defend duty?

Recently bought the switch version of FM and I'm having a lot of fun, my only negative is I can't view highlights after a match. If I process one day after a game the highlights are no longer available and if I view one straight after a match after the loading bar gets full my game shuts down with an error message. I've ended up having to replay matches because of this.
Anyone else got this issue or anyway to fix it?

Just started a save with the mighty Braintree Town. Predicted to finish 14th and last year they were almost relegated but I'm aiming for top 10 and maybe even promotion, promotion maybe a little too ambitious as I don't sign anyone first season so I'll have a squad of 17 players (3 GK) but will see...
Looking forward to starting this properly later, been struggling for motivation this year.

With the delay of FMT21 it's left me with more time to think about who to manage, originally I was going to manage my favourite team Burnley but now I've changed my mind again. I'm now going to manage Elgin City, bit of a road to glory I guess? They have never been past the lowest playable league in Scotland. I'll aim to get them into the SPL, challenge Celtic and Rangers, and then aim for European glory.

I've been playing the FMT20 demo on my laptop to get into the FM groove after the delay.
This is the first time I've bought the Touch version, well on PC anyway, I had last year's on the Switch. I gave up on the"full fat FM" year's ago, mainly played mobile lately but it's so easy, can have a player score 100 goals a season who normally would struggle to get double digits.

I also play FMT on a laptop. I played last year's game on my Nintendo Switch but I'm OCD when it comes to FM and I like to have graphics, that the Switch version doesn't let you have, but PC does.
In regards to the new features.. ABOUT TIME! Still feel like us Touch players are not wanted, I didn't see anything about squad dynamics, fingers crossed, that isn't in the game. Pointless feature imo.

This is so easy I won the Prem first season with Everyon. Tottenham like a lot of people were crap finished 17th..
But on the other hand I'm not surprised this game is easy, SI only care about money.

Currently playing FM2011. Put all the Welsh teams playing in England back into the Welsh league... Cardiff, Swansea, Wrexham, Newport County, Colwyn Bay, and the team I'm managing Merthyr Town. We were only founded the year the game came out so got a reputation of... 1!
Really looking forward to challenging Cardiff and Swansea and then Europe.
I had technically already started but started again after forgetting to put English sides playing in Wales back into England... TNS, Bishops Castle and Trefonen.
Last time Craig Bellamy on loan at Cardiff from Man City scored 20 goals after 6 games lol.
