  1. Thanks for the answer even if it's not the one I hoped ! So, considering this, why does the assistant manager often gives the advice to select players because of their form or because they performed well in training ? I understand that, otherwise, it would create a "self-feddback loop" but why would it do it more with "past performances" instead of morale ? For me, it would be more logical the other way because morale can increase through different "paths" and it's a bit too "basic". IRL, I'm pretty sure that managers would really consider last performances when picking their XI and I guess there's a reason why !... I don't think that "form" is handled the way it should in this great game ! ;-)
  2. Hello, I guess my question is in the title ! IRL there are players who are extremely good in some clubs and average/bad in others... is this possible in FM ? Immobile is/was a world class striker at the Lazio and played very poorly in Dortmund. I guess there are tons of examples like that IRL... How would/should this reflect in FM ? Should their attributes drop/rise when moving from a club to another or should it only depends on their adaptability and, if yes, how ? Thanks...
  3. Hello ! I've tried to make a test to see if "form" (last 5 games and/or last match) has an impact on performances. I've created two identical players (CB) but with different ratings in the last games. I made them play a dozen time the same game only switching their positions at half of them just to be sure that it does not impact their ratings. I know it's not 100% scientific ! ;-) From what I observed, it doesn't seem that "last 5 games ratings" have an impact on performances ! Neither has the "training rating". It's a bit disappointing for me ! It seems that IRL a player who performed well in the last month or trained well during the week is more likely to do better in the next match (and not only because his morale is better). There seem to be periods when player are in better form than others. Also, it would mean that except of the obvious (attributes, opposition, etc) we only have to take into account morale to pick our XI. What do you think ? Can someone from SI invalidate that... I would be happy to be wrong ! Thanks...
  4. Hello ! It would be very nice if we could have the possibility to see the match at a different speed between highlights. Set a speed for highlight and another for "in between", the same way as it is now except that we could see the actual match in 3d (at a high speed) instead of the analytic tools. It would slow down automatically everytime it enters a "highlight zone" ! Also have the possibility to chose if we want the game to stop or go to the normal speed when our opponent make subs or changes its tactic. Thanks.
  5. Hello ! I find it very annoying that the "Progress Graphic" in the "Development ->Progress" section takes into acount division and/or star rating. Like this it gives misleading information. For example, when we get a promotion, there's uselly a big drop in the graph even the player still progresses.... ther's no reason for that ! With this graph I just want to see easily if a player has progressed in the long/short term and that doesn't need to be in comparaison of anything (other players or league). I hope this will be fixed/changed in the next iteration ! Thanks in advance...
  6. Completely agree ! Values should more vary depending on the hype. I guess it's because players reputations can't move quickly enough. Even a very good performance in a (important) match should have a quick impact ! Maybe the "problem" is also due to how scouting operates. I don't "feel" that scouting reports are enough based on "what they see". They can tell us that a player as a good/bad attribute np matter if he didn't performed accordingly in the match analysed.
  7. Hello ! I like set Opposition Instructions but if find it takes too much time beacause I have to do too many clicks to get to the informations I need. It would be nice if in the "Tactic -> Opposition" screen we could have more information and be able to edit it like we're able in other areas of the game (squad, tactic, etc.). The formation could be shown the same way as on the "Team Selection" screen where we can see the roles their players are supposed to use. Also, a very important addition, would be to let us tweak the columns we want to see in this "Opposition" screen. Be able to insert/remove columns ! I don't need to see what instruction I give in the columns (they're already shown on the left, in the opposition formation). I would rather like to be able to see some attributes and stats that would allow me to make my choices more efficiently. I hope I'm understandable !... Thanks...
  8. Thanks for your answer. I understand that you won't say what aspect means more but I was only hoping to have a confirmation from SI if certain have a "direct" impact on performances or not... if we should consider them when we're picking our XI for the next match. From your answer, I can imagine that "form in last matchs" is a thing to consider as well as the "form of the day" (how well a player performed from the beginning of the match). Concerning training, I understand that it's not a very important factor but it seems that many managers think that "you play the weekend as you trained during the week". The problem with training ratings in FM is that it's more an indicator of how a player progress (which is already shown by the arrows) than how hard he does it, how implicated he is. Younger player have a tendency to have better ratings than the oldest although, IRL, they're probably less "professional" and willing to work hard. Thanks for this great game anyway... N.B.: I also consider my opponents team and tactics !...
  9. When starting this discussion, I didn't want SI to give me the exact numbers on how each of these things impact the players performances. A rough idea would be great... even a confirmation if some have an impact or not could be sufficient. I understand that giving too much information is "not good" but not at all is not better. We should, at minimum, be able to know what we have to consider when picking our XI for the next game or who to sub during a game. For now, we can't say, for sure, if "Form (last 5 games)", "Last Match Rating", "Training Rating", "First Half Rating (on second half)", "Training Familiarity", "Place in the Team’s Hierarchy" & "Match Load" have an impact on performances ! Don't we "deserve" to know this ? How could we guess ? Also, I was interested to know how other users pick their XI... Thanks...
  10. I'm not sure if I can qualify this problem as a bug but I hope it's the right place to post this. During matches, my assistant often advise me to close down a player because he makes a lot of dangerous crosses. The problem is that most of those crosses come from corners and/or freekicks (hard to press the FK taker), Set pieces shouldn't be counted as crosses the same way as those made during the play or my assistant should recognize them. Thanks.
  11. As I think it's quite important, I wish I could see players mentality somewhere in the "tactic" panel. I could be a little icon near players position or name on the formation or to have the possibility to add a column on the players list. Thanks.
  12. Hello, When I’m picking my XI for the next game, I’m not sure what information I should take into account. So I wanted to know what you think and hopefully we could also have an official answer as some of those questions remain mysteries (while it shouldn’t). So, imagine two identical players with only one of the thing below different (by a lot), what impact do you think that this difference would have on his performance on the pitch (in the next game) ? From “0” (has no impact) to “10” (has a huge impact), what would you consider: 1) Attributes (let’s begin with the obvious one): 2) Morale: 3) Consistency: 4) Form (last 5 games): 5) Last Match Rating: 6) Training Rating: 7) First Half Rating (on second half): 8) Training Familiarity: 9) Place in the Team’s Hierarchy: 10) Condition: 11) Sharpness: 12) Match Load: 13) Fatigue: 14) Reaction to the latest chat: I understand that SI doesn’t want to communicate on the calculations made in the match engine but I think we should be able to have a rough idea on what are the impacts of those aspects of the game, no ? Thanks…
  13. Hello ! I wish there was a possibility to change our players positions on the "our team formation panel" that appears between highlights during matches. Also, in the same optic, it would be nice if, on the "opposite team match panel", we could see the icons of the Opposition Instructions and be able to change them from here. The less we have to quit the match screen to go to "Tactics & Subs" = the most immersive = the best Thanks...
  14. Hello ! I wish we had the possibility to compare 2 scout reports of the same player at different moment to be able to track if a player is improving or not. I want to see the atributes and "personality" changes. It would also be useful if we could do it to our loaned players. Thanks...
  15. Hello (sorry for my English), For me, the “next opponent scout report” should be a really important tool to prepare for a match but, now, I don’t really enjoy them. First, information is spread between too many places… “Team report-Next Opponent”, “next opponent’s Team reports”. And, second, it’s too many stats and not enough “human interaction”. Are scouts in charge of this IRL, not the Assistant Manager? Anyway, they don’t just put a bunch of graphs on the manager desk, they probably deliver their reports in person explaining things with their analysis tool to show examples. I would like more “words” in the game, not only graphs. In a past iteration, I think there was a box in the bottom left to bring us to next match info. It would be nice to have it back or an “Opposition Team Report” menu on the left. There we should find a summary of all info available on the first page and then you could click on every section to have more details. So, for me, what should be in the “Next Opponent Report” section is: 1) On the first panel, a summary. The formation, players and tactic they’ll probably use and an advice for our team selection. A mix integrating the actual “next opponent Scouting Report”, “next opponent Opposition Report” and the “Team Selection Advice” that we receive in our inbox in FM21. 2) If you click on the “Formation” part, on another panel, your assistant would tell you what might be the starting XI and formation but also give you different possibilities because they shouldn’t know for sure what the opposition manager’s going to pick 2 days before the game (they should do more mistakes). 3) There should also be a “player panel” where your assistant would give you info about all the opposition player they know (starting XI and substitutes). They should give us, “with words”, their best positions/roles but also and more important, their strength and weaknesses (and not only one of each). We should also be able to know their tendencies (PPM + do they make lots of forward runs, shoot from distance, cut inside, overlap, etc.). I’d like if each opposition player would be given a grade on how they perform offensively and defensively (two separates from 1 to 100) so we can figure out who are the danger and where we could attack. 4) On the tactic section, I would like my assistant to tell me what they’ll probably use in the beginning of the match but, also, what they may use depending on the scenario (if winning/losing at certain moments of the match). How high will their defending line be ? How often and how hard will they press ? Are they likely to man mark ? Will they do counter attacks ? Will they try to do crosses, shoot from far ? What will their tempo be ? What kind of passes (long, short) ? In which direction (flanks, center) ? etc. All the analysis tool should remain but more as a backup to show examples instead of being the report by itself. Also, it would be great if we could do pre-game mettings where we could tell our players to beware of specific things that the opposition team may do. We would have a limited amount of time and we'll have to decide how we want to divide it between the the things we want to talk about (more time = more likely to be effective in match). And you, what do you want to be in these reports ? How happy are you with the actual ones ? Best regards, Patrick
  16. Hello ! It would be nice and time saving if we could select many players and praise/criticize them all in one action. Especially for training performances. I understand that it's not the most realistic but... it's a game and it's also supposed to be fun and clicking every game week on every player to praise/criticize them one by one is quite boring ! Thanks
  17. I understand that praising a player woulg improve his morale so make him more likely to perform well. But does the training rating have an influence on players performances directly ? Better training rating = more likely to perform better ?
  18. Hello, I just had a game where I wanted to reduce the opposition playmaker influence. I asked my ream to tight mark him in the Opposition Instruction. They didn't seem to do it because he seemed to roam freely in every extended highlight I saw. No one marking him when he approached and entered the box. Is the instruction working for you and, if yes, what is it suposed to do ? Thanks...
  19. Hello ! I like to watch my games in full match and toggle between normal and high speed with shortcuts. The problem is that, when I do so, the sound and text are advancing faster that the display of the game. That's pretty annoying because you can hear the sound and watch the text flash for a goal before it happens. It kills the "suspense" ! The only way to synchronize it back is to pause the game but, then, the display jumps to where the sound and text are which makes me miss a bit of the action. That should signify that the problem comes from the display and not the text/sound ! The problem exists from 2-3 years but it was ok before that. I really hope you'll be able to fix it in the next iteration... thanks !
  20. I would like to be able have a graph (or something else) that would indicateme the changes in the personality of my players, the same way as other attributes in the player "Development"- "Progress" panel. Thanks !
  21. I often look at my next opponent's past matches to see how they play. It would be useful to have the possibility, in addition to the highlight size choice, to chose what type of actions we want to see (only corners/freekicks, and/or build-up plays). Thanks !
  22. Hello, My assistant manager always suggests to select players because they "performed especially well in training lately ..." but would it really make them more likely to be good during the next game ? Should we take the training rating into consideration while picking our starting XI ? Thanks...
  23. So you think that form doesn't exist ?! That's not a good thing for me ! IRL it seems like it does exist and some player have ups and downs on periods. So, if it does not exist, what's the point of giving us the rating of the last 5 games ? Is there something like a "random form of the day" ? Are players impacted by how they're performing during a game ? Are players more likely to be good in second half if they were in the first ?
  24. I understand that to replicate real life tactics is complicated but I hope that the game will go in this direction to give us more options in the future. I guess that the problem is that some users don't want it to be too complex and the other difficulty is to make the AI use it properly so the game doesn't become too easy for people who are good at it ! So let's be patient and cross our fingers !
