1. #20 - CHIPPENHAM - BLUE SQUARE SOUTH - 2015/2016 Squad - Transfers In - Transfers Out - Final Table - Position History I decided to be a bit ruthless at the start of pre-season in offering new contracts straight away to the guys that were in their final year of the contract. A few, in particular my key right back Stephen Chiocchi, were quite excessive in their demands and they were shown the exit door to reduce our wage bill. I snapped up a couple of replacements on cheaper wages and moved up 2-3 players from our youth setup to start the season with. Luckily I didn't need to consider selling some of my assets after receiving a surprising £60k bid from Llanelli for Jimmy Ryan, a player who had only managed 3 games for me without looking too impressive in any of them. The season started off well enough and we were quietly hanging in and around the playoffs going into the New Year. Our traditional second half of the season collapse started later than usual but I managed to avert it after a handful of poor performances with a tactical change that paid off. As the season drew to a close we were just outside the playoffs but we managed to sneak in on the final day of the season thanks to Tonbridge and Chelmsford both losing and so we ended the campaign in 4th place. The playoffs saw us face Boreham Wood over two legs. We won the first leg 3-2 at home and then dished out a dominating display in the second leg to win 4-1 and book our place in the final where we'd frustratingly face Chelmsford, a team who had done the double over us. The playoff final nerves weren't helped much by a report pointing out that in our 8 previous matches we'd yet to beat Chelmsford. I'm glad I noticed that report however as it prompted me to try something a little different with our tactics and it paid off as we narrowly won 2-1 to send us up into the Blue Square Premier. In the FA Cup we had a lucky few draws that saw us reach the 2nd round where a 2-0 defeat away to Crewe ended our run. In the FA Trophy we had my best run to date in the competition where we reached the Semi Finals, only to lose out to Aldershot 5-4 on aggregate. Aldershot went on to win the Trophy and they had also knocked out a very poor looking Man Utd side in the FA Cup 3rd round to very little media coverage. In other news I received my third job offer with York trying to lure me away from Hardenhuish Park. I also made my biggest signing to date in January when my Assistant Manager recommended we take a look at Arjan Koliqi. When his report came back saying he had the potential to play in the Premier Division I asked my scout for a second opinion before securing him on a contract until 2018. I also collected the Manager of the Season award for the second season in a row. FINAL POSITION - 4TH (PROMOTED VIA THE PLAYOFFS) HIGH - The playoffs. Great end to a greater season. LOW - The second half collapse against Aldershot in the 2nd leg of our FA Trophy Semi Final. Gutting. KEY PLAYERS Adam Francis - Another goal filled campaign as Adam reached over 125 appearances for us. Jake Gibson - I'd kept an eye on Jake's development and called him up to the first team this season. A phenomenal debut campaign for him. Josh Millwood - One player I'm going to be sad if I ever leave behind. First name on the team sheet for me. Aristote Amisi Kamaneno - Made the most of being my first choice AML in his second season with the club. Eddie Wilding - Josh's partner in crime in the centre of my defence. Charlie Taylor - Charlie's starting to get a bit of competition for his spot but he's still another consistent performer. Dominic King - Signing of the season. He's got great potential and after trying him out in the first team he always played when match fit. Kurtis March - My captain's starting to get a bit big for his boots. A replacement for him is one of my main aims for this summer. Aaron Jelley - After being second choice for so long Aaron had a great season as my regular RB. AIMS FOR NEXT SEASON Avoid relegation FA Cup run to help our lack of finances SEASON LEAGUE POSITION CUPS 2012/13 Blue Square South 15th FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round, FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round 2013/14 Blue Square South 14th FA Cup 3rd Round, FA Trophy 1st Round 2014/15 Blue Square South 7th FA Cup 1st Round, FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round 2015/16 Blue Square South 4th FA Cup 2nd Round, FA Trophy Semi Finals
2. #20 - CHIPPENHAM - BLUE SQUARE SOUTH - 2014/2015 Squad - Transfers In & Out - Final Table - Position History I resisted the urge to make any major transfers this pre-season as I was quite happy with the spine of my team. Instead I went about making some new goalkeepers a top priority and picking out a handful of signings that could hopefully benefit us for the season ahead. We started the season in fine form and held top spot in the league for some time to the surprise of many, myself included. Sadly, like in other seasons, a fall wasn't too far away and it hit us hard as we went from top to not even in the playoffs. We struggled for consistency for the rest of the campaign and a new tactic could be worth investigating for the second half next season to ensure we don't get found out yet again. The cups didn't provide much in terms of funds. We reached the 1st round of the FA Cup where we suffered a 2-0 loss to Rochdale. The highlight of the run was a revenge victory over Swindon Supermarine in the 3rd Qualifying Round, even if it was after a replay, to make up for the loss to them during my first season. We slumped out of the FA Trophy before the 1st Round after losing to Solihull Moors in a replay. In other news I also received my first job offers of the game with Mansfield and Kidderminster of the BSP both feeling I was the man who could revive their fortunes. I also collected the Manager of the Season award for the first time. FINAL POSITION - 7TH HIGH - The first half of the season. Top of the league, clear by a few points. Heaven. LOW - Losing 5 league games in a row to slip down the table in late January-February. We never really recovered from it. KEY PLAYERS Adam Francis - In what could be his last season for me (his wages are too much for us now) Francis delivered yet again. It'll be hard to try and move him on. Josh Millwood - I doubt I'll ever manage another DC who scores so much. Another big player that I should probably be trying to move on to reduce the wage bill. Charlie Taylor - Another good season for Charlie, first choice left back when available. Stephen Chiocchi - 11 assists this season, great stuff from my right back. Kurtis March - The playmaker and captain chipped in with some big goals this season, even if most were from the penalty spot! Jim Thompson - If I could only keep one player of my current squad Jim would be him. He's still only 18 but another prolific season. Legend in waiting. Aristote Amisi Kamaneno - It was a big gamble of a signing but he was the best of my new arrivals this summer by some way. AIMS FOR NEXT SEASON Squad overhaul sadly. We're doing badly finance wise so I think I'll have to sacrifice some of our high earners. Cup runs are needed. Don't get relegated or enter administration. Beat fierce rivals Bath next season after their drop down to the BSS. 3. The result that just cost me a place in the playoffs Gotta love the world of non-league football.
4. World - England - Season Summary. Look for the section after the Blue Square leagues that's called Regional Premier Divs and that will list the 6 promoted teams. Make sure you save before 19:00 on June 23rd to ensure the reloading works fine. Good luck finding a rare team!
5. #20 - CHIPPENHAM - BLUE SQUARE SOUTH - 2013/2014 Squad - Transfers In & Out - Final Table - Position History I decided to make some changes to my squad from last season with a lot of the poor performers heading for the exit door to be replaced by a new batch. I missed out on a couple of targets but otherwise I started the season on a high after a good pre-season, highlighted by a 6-1 victory over League 1 Swindon in our penultimate friendly. Sadly the league campaign didn't begin with the same buzz as last season and we suffered a couple of injuries, most notably to my star striker of last season, Adam Francis. While we were inconsistent in the league though we had no such trouble in the FA Cup however. We reached the 3rd Round and a home tie against Championship side Millwall were we held on for a 0-0 draw before losing 4-1 at the New Den. The FA Trophy was a little bit frustrating as we reached the 1st Round, after coming through a replay with eventual BSS winners Eastleigh, to then lose out in another replay to Hampton & Richmond in a game where we'd dominated. The second half of the season, after our cup exploits were over, saw us have to play a game every 2-3 days for far too long that cost us. An 8 game unbeaten run had me dreaming of sneaking into the playoffs but it wasn't to be and our inconsistency returned to see us end the season in mid-table once more. FINAL POSITION - 14TH HIGH - The FA Cup run, we were scoring for fun and knocked out League Two Walsall as well as Woking of the Blue Square Premier. LOW - The 3 game losing streak that followed our FA Cup exit, including a 5-1 loss to Tonbridge. KEY PLAYERS Adam Francis - His injury at the start of the season was a big blow but he went on to have another good season for us. Jim Thompson - He came through our youth system last season and I noticed my coaches recommended him quite highly. He could be one to hopefully follow us up the leagues. Josh Millwood - He was my rock in central defence last season and he delivered once again this season. Consistent and he gets his fair share of goals surprisingly. Oscar Threlkeld - My best signing of this summer by a long way. Formed a great partnership with Millwood in the centre of my defence. Charlie Taylor - Another of my consistent players in defence. If only we had a better goalkeeper behind them. Ben Mantom - Still a teenager but he performed very well when I used him this season. He'll hopefully be used a lot more next season. AIMS FOR NEXT SEASON New goalkeepers are a must. We're definitely missing out on points by not having a decent keeper behind my defence. Another good run in the FA Cup would be nice financially, I may have to sacrifice it though to keep my squad fresh. A push for the playoffs please. 6. Through to the 3rd round of the FA Cup after thumping Woking 5-0, taking our FA Cup goals total this season to 23. A home time against Millwall awaits, not quite the big pay day I was hoping we'd have earnt!
7. I'm 'enjoying' a bit of an inconsistent second season in the BSS with Chippenham, the injuries seem to be piling up at the most annoying times. However, I'm having a bit of a run in the FA Cup that has just seen us reach the 2nd round after this result over L2 Walsall. We've also scored another 14 goals in our other 3 games so far, all against non-league teams, so it's been a pretty good run!. A home tie against either Woking or Eastbourne Borough awaits us in the next round, both recently promoted from the BSS so could be interesting.
8. Well done on Promotion and the FA Trophy too XaW. Good luck next season in the BSP. === That screen shot of the Colwyn Bay squad is really strange. I've had a quick look at them in my game and it's nearly as diverse as well. Going to set my scout on them shortly and do some shopping in the summer if they're any good! === Quick question for everyone but what kind of staff setup as everyone got? I've had a couple of players, notably a youth prospect I've started using this season, complain about me not having a Fitness coach but I'm not sure I can afford to bring in another staff member (I've currently got my assistant manager, physio, coach and two scouts).
9. Good to see Lyons do well for someone else. I had high hopes when I signed him at the start of my game for him to be my number one striker but he never really delivered sadly.
10. Well done on promotion Gypsum! === If pre-season friendlies can be used as any kind of measure for how your season will go I think I'm going to be ok this season. Last season vs L2 Swindon This season vs L1 Swindon
11. I signed Beadle in my game and he's already on his way out this summer He never really performed in the games I used him in, picked up 3 yellow cards in the 9 games he played and I'm sure I had a stand off with him when he moaned about a lack of first team opportunities. Hope he does a bit better for you.
12. CHIPPENHAM - BLUE SQUARE SOUTH - 2012/2013 Squad - Transfers In and Out - Final Table - Position History We started the season on a great run, possibly helped by a pre-season friendly victory over local rivals Swindon, that saw us go top for a few weeks after the first 10 games of the season. Sadly the bad run that so many others have suffered from saw us slide down to midtable where we remained for the rest of the season with relegation never really a threat. We did nothing in the cups, suffering a surprise loss to Swindon Supermarine in the FA Cup 2nd Qualifying Round and a narrow defeat to Hampton & Richmond in the FA Trophy 3rd Qualifying Round. HIGH - Coming 3rd in the 'Manager of the Season' vote. Oh and beating eventual playoff winners Woking. LOW - Losing 7-1 to Dorchester STAR - Adam Francis. Signed him after the season started but he was clearly a good player, even when he wasn't scoring he was still a consistent performer. I've already got him signed up for next season! FINAL POSITION - 15TH
13. Interesting to read this and some of those teams tie up a fair bit with my attempt. The only other 3 teams I had that you didn't were Hednesford (I had them quite a few times), Oxford City (4-5 times) and North Ferriby (3 times) in over 100 reloads.
14. Just to add to this but I'd make sure you save at 00:00 on the 23rd or possibly some time in the morning at the most. I noticed on my save when reloading that my first attempt kept giving me the same 6 teams and I'd saved it around 19:00 on the 23rd so the game must do some hidden process for the next season late in the day on the 23rd. Once I used an earlier save to holiday again back to the 23rd the teams kept generating differently each time. === Good luck to everyone. I think my season could be going to the formula of others with a good start followed by a bad patch. Nice to see the first season completed as well and some other Chippenham players.
15. Another new challenger here. I've taken charge of Chippenham If anyone gets Chorley let me know, spent ages reloading with no luck trying to get them!
