  1. I'm interested in replicating Inzaghi system too, as an Inter fan. I suppose that, like every real life system, is impossible to replicate at 100% in FM terms, simply because a game is a matter of number but football is a matter of men. But honestly this is a very similar replication, probably the most difficult thing is to replicate the Dumfries role, in particular when he cuts without the ball acting like a true forward.
  2. Hi, I try to explain it with a picture. This is a screen from Barcelona - Inter, UCL roundup last year. Dumfries is a WB, but look at where is positioned during the build up. I haven't found any way yet to replicate that position during build up phase. That position is absolutely mandatory for the Inzaghi system to be efficient because Di Marco, Chala and Mikhitaryan (overload on the left) can rapidly move the ball to other flank where Barella and Dumfries have space. @Rashidi I agree with you. It is possible to bring the WB to an extremely advanced position with certain settings of playing time and width. But the image I posted refers to a build up phase by the goalkeeper. Dumfries is positioned so high already at the start of the action, and one of the keys to Inzaghi's game is to make the change of play quickly. During Roma - Inter, last year, the ball move from GK to Dumfries which score (in that position) in 14 seconds.
  3. I agree that Dumfries role is almost impossible to replicate in this me, not only for the "far post issue" but also for the other typical movement: when a forward drop deep to link the play and Denzel stays very very high, cutting sometimes inside to act like a true forward. CWB could do that, but Is impossible to set him cutting inside.
  4. Hi, as an inter fan I'm facing the same issue. If we analyze the Inzaghi 3-5-2 we see exactly what Ermes said. I think that probably the reason is that the engine doesn't allow that movement due to some blocks in offensive behaviour of wingback. If you analyze Dumfries movement you can see that during defensive phase he acts like a pure defender, to compose a 5-man line. But during attacking phase he is often as high on the pitch as the main forward. He plays like a forward. This is impossible to achieve with any mentality, traits, setting or PI. I tried everything, pairing with offensive midfielder and defensive midfielders next to him, but is impossible to let a player in a WB position to stay in the same line as the forward. I suppose the me doesn't not allow this. You have to move him to WM position but in that case you will lose the defensive part of the role. This is a pity because a typical action of Inter is to build up overloading left side that immediately change to Dumfries which is in free space acting like a true forward.
  5. This is an absolutely amazing analysis. I'd like to suggest you to analyze also the Inzaghi system at Inter. I think that his 3-5-2 system shows very enhanced rotation, in particular on the flanks, so it is an evolution of the Atalanta system you had described. In my opinion is a very good example of positional play applied to a system 3-5-2 which wasn't born for this type of play. The interaction between mezzala, wingbacks and strikers are very complicated and it should be interesting to see if the improvement in positional play make possible what was impossible in the previous editions. What do you think?
  6. Hi to all, I would like to better understand how the debts of football clubs are defined in the editor, and how this then affects the game. In Italy, the debt situation of the teams is a factor that greatly influences management, and I would like to understand how this is reported in FM23. I give an example. Team; F.C. Internazionale Milan. In the debt page of the official editor I see: Total Debt 325M£, Expiry 2035, Interest rate 0.00%. If I take an official financial statements of Inter I see: Total Debt 365M£, Expiry 2026, Interest rate 6.75%. There is lot of difference. And I see this difference for all major teams which have interest rate setted to 0% and very long expiry date of debt. So my questions are: 1. These differencies are mandatory due to a particular mechanism of the game and, if fixed, will make the game unplayable (in other terms is this a "translation" in FM terms of the real life debt-impact on teams) 2. Are these wrong data? In this case what happens in gameplay if I fix the data? Thanks
  7. For Xhaka try BBM with pi of stay wide and run wide with ball.
  8. I'm thinking about starting a Chelsea save. I'm undecided between them and Arsenal. They are a strange team, they have some very high value elements, on which to build a foundation for years and years (Havertz, Mount, James, Fofana). They have good reputation, probably it will be easy to attract key players. But how many dead wood with high salary: Kantè (I really don't like this type of player), Lukaku, Jorginho, Ziyech, Cucurella....
  9. Some advice about which team choose to start this type of career on Fm23. - Chelsea: good recruitment, Havertz, Fofana, James, Odoi, Mount. Probably the issue about Premier League money, described some posts ahead. - Arsenal: Odegaar, Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Patino, Vieira, Saliba. Good recruitment too and probably same issues about money. - FC Inter: Company status is similar to Benfica (one of the big of the country, ability to sell players without enforce a rival). Good recruitment system. But terrible status of the squad. No youngster. Which one? Probably AC Milan is better positioned than Inter in this contest, (Theo, Leao, Kalulu, Tonali, De Ketelaere)....but as Inter fan I cannot.....
  10. It is interesting to see how the financial situation of Inter is transferred in FM terms.
