  1. Brora Rangers - 2035/36 So most importantly.. We win the league! And it was not even close! We were first from the first match of the league and never really let anyone else take the spot. And another, perhaps even a bit more important thing - WE ARE TURNING PROFESSIONAL! Fantastic season all in all although we played pretty bad in cups. We were really lacking a right midfielder (and we still are) so that will be the huge issue in Premiership. Lets see if we can keep the team the same. No upgrades because I wanna see the impact of us turning pro on finances first and also becaus
  2. This thread; Everyone - we think the game should be a realistic challenge. Person A - I find it very easy. Person B - That's bad. Are you cheating? Person A - No. Person B - then you should upload your save, no one wants it to be easy. Person A - No. Person A - posts again later in the thread moaning it's too easy.
  3. Flippant answers get you nowhere. If you want to be taken seriously, create a thread in the Bugs Forum. In that thread you explain in detail exactly how you are playing the game such as your detailed tactics, how you have used the transfer system, how you manage morale, how you manage match day, your training programs and so on. In other words detail precisely which aspects you have found to be easy. You then also upload your game save. Ideally you do all of this across multiple different game saves at different levels of football clubs. This will allow SI to investigate exactly
  4. I've argued this since the introduction of the gegenpress into FM - It has to be countered with players getting knackered or injured if managers persist on playing that style for 90 mins match on match. That's the biggest failing. Of course that approach is going to win games without that risk involved. Every team in the world would play this way constantly if there was no fear of burnout. If SI do this, they will be absolutely flooded with 'too many injuries' complaints, which has already, frustratingly, led them to reduce the injuries in game to 80% of real life, The sooner they put th
  5. Some of the results being posted here are really making a mockery of this game which is quite a sad state of affairs. It seems like we are eternally destined to travel in this vicious circle. Every version that is released is a reaction to the main issues within the previous version. In FM20, people were railing about strikers constantly missing one on ones so they worked on that for FM21 and now people are complaining that there are too many goals being scored and that the game is too easy. This is the opposite to what happened between FM18 and FM19. The only way I can con
  6. So it's important enough to post about twice in this thread where no one will see it, but you can't be bothered to post about it once in the correct place so it will actually get fixed. Makes sense.
  7. While I don't necessarily disagree with the sentiment, it's important to note that he hasn't actually played every single game since September; he didn't play against Fulham in September, he didn't play against Dundalk in October, and he played in one of three England matches in October. He's played 1185 of a potential 1800 minutes for club and country this season, 66%. He has shown a capacity to play in the weekend following a midweek match (one day less rest than an EL after a weekend match as EL is on Thursday) but in two of those three instances he played substantially less than 90 in one
  8. I have yet to see a comment but am I alone in finding the tactics screen is a bit buggy in that I cannot always click to drag a player on the pitch graphic or player list every single time. I have to click away and try again to click a player to move them...
  9. I try to explain some more points with the bad english of a german (half turkish). I explained the main problem some pages before. And i do believe it's very difficult for SI to make the game harder. A good start would be a realistic amount of injuries and disregard the players wich are crying. ^^ Next point is that the main problem startet with implementing fixed Player Roles and Playing Styles. Back in the days i played a lot of online-tournaments and in fact, i was the best. Won several titels with up to 40 attendees. It was FM11-13. The point was, i was win
  10. I'm not defending anything. I'm saying, repeatedly, if you think it's too easy then upload a save to the bugs forum. I am rubbish at the game and actually want it to be a challenge even though I'm rubbish at it. My gut also tells me that FM20 and this version were/are a bit easier than the ones before. What I am also saying though - and I stand by this - is that people setting up an unrealistically attacking tactic off the internet aren't proving the game is too easy, they are proving that some tactics are overpowered. They should then upload those saves to the bugs forum. Tha
  11. Things that stand out to me about this Beta: - Harder to sign staff for small clubs. Less quality of the staff available. It's good as it was way too easy to get quality staff for small clubs. - ME is fantastic. Throw-ins should be tweaked. Worse players doesn't mean they don't know how to take throw-ins. GKs habit of bringing the ball over the line for a corner is still present. - Fixtures screen not focusing on next match but the first match of the season, making you scroll down. It sometimes work and sometimes doesn't. - Custom views. Yeah, i've already mentioned that. Still awful.
  12. Almost certainly done via exploit tactics. I really hope SI don't make the mistake of re-balancing the ME to stop this as it ruins the experience for people who try and play somewhat realistically. As I've said above the tope score in my save the last 2 seasons in the Premier league was Chris Wood both seasons with 24 and 20 goals... Thats absolutely far too low IMO. So if anything strikers are under powered if you play normally without exploits. I full expect them to re-balance and ruin the ME and in a week the feedback will be "WhAt hAs HaPpEnEd to cEnTraL pLay" like it has be
  13. But they absolutely aren't in my save. Top scorers in the Premier league got a very very low total of goals (24 and 20 the last 2 seasons). Just because some people use exploit tactics is why they are able to get strikers to score loads of goals. If SI change the ME to stop exploit tactics then we are back to the awfulness of FM19 and FM20 where nearly all the goals come from random long shots and set pieces!
  14. People seem to be tossing the word exploit in as a replacement adjective for the word strong, overtuned, overpowered. Using Gegenpress and a high line with the instructions of attacking gets forward as much as possible is not an exploit. It is there as an instruction to tell your players how you want them to play. The fact that it outperforms other tactics does not mean it is an exploit, it means that it's overtuned, overpowered whatever you want to call it. An exploit is if I had Lionel Messi and he for some reason could teleport past your defenders mid match and score 100% of the time. The f
  15. Hi All, I have been playing FM since the early Champ Man days but never attempted this as I love signing player too much lol.. But I feel I am ready to give it a go So here goes.. C'mon you mighty Merthyr lol https://gyazo.com/de6c652dc8e33dae65b5a80075fcdeb6
  16. Finishing mid table with little effort but predicted to battle relegation is still overachieving.
  17. Yeah and this point have been lost since i mentioned it in the first pages. Luckily it's been raised in the bug forums.
  18. Season 2028 - OBOS-ligaen (tier 2) - 7th season So, after getting relegated last season, the goal was simply to bounce up again, and we did it! Not as easy as I had hoped, but we still did it. We did finish in 2nd place, way behind winners Sandefjord though. They just ran away with it and they had a 20 game unbeaten run in the middle there. So it was down to a 4 horse race along Aalesund, Tromsø and Ranheim. In the end we made it, even with a poor 1-1 draw against Mjøndalen in the last match. Now, let's hopefully stay up next season! 19. Increasing injuries to prevent players abusing aggressive playstyles is just going around the issue. When managing a big team in a weak league such as Porto, Ajax, Juve, PSG, etc you have the "luxury" of rotating the whole team for domestic games and still win easily. It's not that difficult in FM. In fact I've always done that way. What they have to do is to make high pressing properly difficult to setup. Make low concentration, anticipation, work rate actually count for pressing and denying space, making your team very vulnerable without a well designed system and the suitable players.
  20. You play only with Liverpool. A team that has literally just won the league with record points. You also said in your other thread that you don't do manual training because you're tempted to rest everyone and game the system by being in better condition than the opposition. If you have saves where you think it's too easy, upload them. Everyone else should too. Then it won't be too easy anymore. How hard is it?
  21. So we've gone from being able to just use any tactic and win easy at the start of this thread to actually only really using a gegenpress style with plenty of PI's? The plot thickens.
  22. Really? I find that odd since I have really found FM21 to be significantly more optimized than FM20. Saving takes a fraction of the time, processing is faster, I no longer hang on certain screens. Even loading the players into the player search is quicker. Maybe this is a hardware thing?
  23. Nothing constructive to this conversation, mate. Basically someone has gone on holiday after setting up an unrealistically attacking tactic and done well a couple of times. They are then saying that this proves the entire game is "easy" and needs to be made harder instead of just posting evidence of what is clearly an overpowered tactic in the bugs forum. It takes away from the entire argument/discussion that has been happening for the last few days. It's like someone sitting in a near inaccessible/buggy area of a map on an FPS game, killing everyone, then demanding that they s
  24. So after playing a lot of time in the beta those are my recommendations for SI to the full release : Match UI : - Add both team formations in the match day at the start - Add the time bar in the match - Add the circles in the tactic screen - Replace the hearts with % in the condition of players - Add "last 5 minutes possession" in the match - Give us the option to remove the annoying box between highlights ( i forgot the name) - Add player face when he scored - Add the name of the player name that made the assist - In the event match, after th
  25. I will give my opinion on this, since I already gave it on some posts. As normally since fm08 I would start my first save on my team FC Porto, normally I would be winning title and getting knocked out of champions in groups if the group we get were hard, or getting 1st round but losing it. This year, I would go to quarters, only losing to Juventos ( even played better but got fm'ed) , for me this is normal, what isn' normal is the way games are happening, and attencin on porto, doing the same they try to implement in real life, I was playing high line, high press and high tempo, wi
  26. OH! And one thing I forgot about the player talk I posted two posts up - after I've said my peace to the player, I have to click through two reaction pages to get back to the game. Everywhere we go in this game, there's just more and more clicks that are so freaking unnecessary. I do not get it. At all. Anyway, here's from the matchday: First of all, look at that red box. What am I supposed to use that information for? It's completely unusable and pointless to even include. At least let me decide if I want to remove it in favor of some other information page I could use that space for i
  27. And this layout right here: Now on every previous FM game all I had to do to gauge player reaction to teamtalk was to do a quick scan through the colors in a list. Now you practically have to examine the whole page because you've spread the players all over the place. I realize these things might seem small and nitpicky, but really they are not. They are a huge part of the experience of playing a game and the fact that they've messed this up as badly as this is baffling to me. I mean this is quite basic things for anyone with any knowledge of UX/UI.
  28. I'd like to see more variety from the assistant manager on this page. I only ever see 1 line item - staff reaction to team news
  29. So much arguing on this forum when it's clear.. You only have to look at the bugs forum for genuine examples of the game being too easy once you hit a certain level of expertise ie you know how to put a solid tactic together (not a so called 'exploit') "Too easy" is anything between getting promoted with a team tipped for relation, or winning leagues and cups with massive goal differences, without putting in much effort to do so. Im not talking about OP exploits, 6 attack duties, people finding loop holes. I'm talking about honest gamers trying to get a challenge from a game that's
  30. That's quite simple question. Had not visited the tactics forum during the time after FM 2021 was released and after a quick check, it seems that most of the people who are asking for help, are asking help on creating a certain type of a tactic: for example a counter attacking one or one with a low block. And I would say that more often than not these "Help, I'm struggling" threads are the ones where people are already at least achieving the expectations or even exceeding them but they want even more. The same applies to downloadable tactics: people wanting plug and play tactics that se
  31. This is pretty sweet, at least I think it's new. If you get multiple offers for a player and accept the highest one first, you can ask the rest to match that offer with one click.
  32. I can tell you i give up reporting bugs ...... Use to do it all the time and most dont get fixed and these are still present in the game . They prioritize what they will fix . Ive seen bugs in FM21 that were there in FM17 so i just gave up
  33. This genuinely sounds like the chatter around Destiny 2 recently. The streamers were banging on about having harder raids and harder mechanics and we want to have something to do, because we're good and everyone else should just git gud like us Bungie/Activision (at the time) acquiesced to their demands and the ideas that were put in, meant that over 50% of players, who had achieved the highest level last time, didn't this time and there was a lot of discontent around the playbase, because they'd bowed to a very small, but vocal subset
  34. The majority of people that actually play this game will not be signed up to this forum let alone vote in this poll. They'll be blissfully unaware of the discussions about the ME or the AI. This poll is asinine.
  35. Here's how things stand a little past the halfway point: I am happy but concerned. Promotion now would be murderous for my career prospects, we've not the depth nor talent to survive what with several starting players being over 30 and no u19 player yet eligible or of sufficient quality. We'll see how the second half goes.
  36. I told you from the start you're using a bugged tactic with 3 at the front. Now you're not even *playing* you're just simulating the entire season. You're not winning. You're doing nothing. That's a bug. I said before when I simulate the friendlies I win by a bunch and when I play everything comes back down to earth. That has been the case for a while in FM to me. I suggested actually PLAYING FM without using 3 up front with a more difficult club. Not simulating a year of the game. Apparently I have to spell things out.
  37. Would be great to swap players positions in the in-match screen. In this example I could drag Taylor to Wilson and that automatically makes Taylor the STC and Wilson the AMC. Not a formation change, just players swapping positions.
  38. I honestly can't understand why SI have decided to flog the Brexit dead horse again this year and attempt to predict various possible outcomes. Especially considering it is less than 2 months to the real decision. They have deliberately (and rightfully) left out Covid19 to provide us with a bit of escapism from real life. Yet, they have decided to play politics and include a Russian roulette of game changing rules that have yet to be decided. Surely a minor patch could be implemented once the outcome has been determined that kicks in when you start a new game? After all, why come up
  39. I'm not answering this as an employee of SI, I'm answering this as a human who has just been told he needs to step down from a position by someone who is ranting and directing personal attacks based on an opinion that is not backed up by any evidence. Assistant researchers are not paid employees of SI. This is something I do on top of my paid role, which I do very professionally, thank you very much. I also have put hours of thought and reasoning based on evidence into my work as Arsenal researcher. If I'm coming across as arrogant, I'm sorry you feel this way. Please consider how you
  40. I don't get how people don't understand that there's no bragging here, a lot of people simply want a challenging game. Look at real life football, how hard it is for teams like PSG and Man City to reach that highest level of winning the Champions League. While on FM you can do that within 4 years with Bournemouth. Obviously this game doesn't mirror reality for the full 100% and never should, but there should be a real sense of accomplishment in winning major titles. That's all. And I'm not talking about nerfing strikers either. Improve defending and AI management and we'll have come
  41. This has been a little project whilst recovering from a torn quadriceps tendon & I'm hoping it may be of use to those playing Dan's database - a logo pack down to level 20: What the pack contains - English lower league teams down to level 20 covering the vast majority of the added teams in Dan's database - English lower league competition logos - Guernsey & Jersey team & competition logos (where available) What the pack does not contain - 126 clubs for whom I have not been able to find any details (check out the "Missing FM20 Logos.txt" file in t
  42. I paid 40 quid for a gam. Im paid nothing to do bug reporting for the company.
  43. I'm not sure "prove it, we think you're lying" is the brilliant argument you think it is.
  44. There are difficulty modes, but people don't like it when it's pointed out. Barcelona/Bayern/Liverpool = win the top league quickly Sevilla/Gladbach/Southampton = a bit longer Huesca/Union Berlin/Fulham = harder Hospitalet/Sandhousen/Leamington = harder still
  45. hold on a second....you can't just bring up other stuff that needs to be set after I run the test. I wanted to show that you don't generally overachieve when you just set your tactics to gegenpress or the tactic you mentioned in a holiday-save.
  46. EVIDENCE. All your posts are your opinion. You've given us absolutely nothing constructive and frankly have come across as just spamming this thread. We've tried to engage as best we can but you've shown little respect to others opinions so we've marked your account as post-moderation. You'll need approval before anyone can see any of your future posts. Thanks.
  47. Sorry, but most of this is nonsense and is not the sort of thing we should be allowing to be posted on a data bugs thread. You're fine to disagree with the PA of these two players. I've explained very clearly my thinking behind Saka's rating with reasoning and an explanation in terms of the game and real life. I also explained the fact that I did not set Mustafi's PA and the fact that we are instructed not to alter PAs downwards for players like Mustafi. As I've said before I'm extremely busy with QA work for SI and I don't have time to respond to personally directed, opinionated rants
  48. Amusing me greatly that some people will wake up to the stupidity of Brexit when they realise they can't sign foreign wonderkids on Football Manager.
