Coasterkoa
Eight men sat around an overly large and ornate table, sipping on the most expensive alcohols known to man, “It’s become so cliché to own a football club nowadays, everyone and their mothers own one,” snorted a short stumpy man, in an obviously fake English accent. ”Quite.” “Indeed.” “Mmmmyes.” “We need to do something better.” “How about a league?” “Too common,” “What about a nation?” A long silence held, as the rest of the men stared at the well bearded man standing in the doorway. They paid little attention to the fact that they did not know him, as they were too intrigued by his idea. Could they really pull it off? How? All eyes were fixed on the man as he entered and sat down on the coach opposite the table. “I have all the tools you need. I just need your money.” Eyes glimmered and mouths watered with excitement; that was something they had… Sign-up You are one of these 8 rich men who have deemed being a club owner to be too boring, and have thusly bought the football associations of a nation. You will draft current players to play for your nation. There will be restrictions, of course, as you will find out later. The following nations have been bought: Tonga (Oceania) Papua New Guinea (Oceania) Belize (North America) Turks and Caicos Islands (North America) San Marino (Europe) Andorra (Europe) Brunei (Asia) Philippines (Asia) Eritrea (Africa) Comoros (Africa) Choose one of the countries above and sign up below, and the draft will commence upon completion of places. Coasterkoa
The next step is to draft your players. The ultimate goal of this is to succeed at the World Cup, and the point system will be as follows: Qualification for World Cup Finals: 5 pts Group Stage: 3 pts per win, 1 pt per tie. Extra Points: 3 pts for finishing top, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd, 0 for 4th First Round: Win 3pts, 0 for loss. Quarter Final: Win 4pts, 0 for loss. Semi Final: Win 5pts, 0 for loss. Third Place: Win 4pts, 0 for loss. Final: Win 6pts, 0 for loss. Points are additive, meaning each round adds on to your total score. The scoring will continue for several World Cups. Other competitions won’t play a part in scoring. The Draft Rules: Fifteen rounds, 2 players drafted per nation each round, 30 total players per nation. This means that one person picks two players at a time, and then the next person picks two players, and so on until everyone has 30 players. If anyone has any questions about this, or how a draft works, please let me know. You don’t need to wait for my confirmation to proceed with the draft, but picks don’t become official until I confirm them. You should have no trouble continuing before I confirm as long as all picks are legit (conform to the eligibility requirements below, and haven’t already been picked). Should it happen that someone posts a pick that doesn’t meet the eligibility requirements, they will have to resubmit a pick immediately, and any picks that had already been made after that (but before my confirmation), will be wiped clean. Ex Post 1: Person 1 drafts Players X and Y Post 2: Person 2 drafts Players A and B Post 3: Person 3 drafts Players C and D Post 4: Players X and Y confirmed, player A confirmed. Player B does not meet requirements. Person 2, please resubmit a new pick. Person 3, players C and D cannot be drafted until person 2 submits a new pick, and thus, he has the ability to draft player C or D. So make sure everything with the players drafted before you is ok before drafting yours. If you do this, you should have no problem continuing the draft before my confirmation. Eligibility Requirements: Players cannot have ANY caps, youth or full, as of the 9.0.3 update. You may only have one player of any given nationality per team. This only goes for first nationalities. This means you’ll have 30 different nationalities representing your country. The following players have expressed no interest in playing for your countries (and therefore cannot be picked), despite meeting eligibility requirements: Click All players chosen will be given the nationality of your country (and declared for that country) when you select them. Random Draft Order: 1. magvest (Tonga) 2. JuulDK (Turks and Caicos Islands) 3. Liniert (Brunei) 4. owen10ozzy (Philippines) 5. brettney1980 (Papua New Guinea) 6. Jack Rudd (Eritrea) 7. Coasterkoa
PluckaDuck, there are many great players available, so don't worry. BenArsenal, you'll find out later that why Brunei was able to be procured. They aren't buying the country itself, by the way, but rather the FA of each country. 5ergio and pnefc22, I could have done more countries, but I didn't want to throw world football TOO out of balance. Perhaps next time. 1. magvest (Tonga) Georginio Wijaldum (Holland), Gabriel Obertan (France) 2. JuulDK (Turks and Caicos Islands) Nicolas Millan (Chile), Jan-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (Germany) 3. iamjerome
can we possibly do it in reverse order every time we get through the ten because it's a bit difficult for those of us near the end (eg i get 4 picks at tenth then number 9 gets two again back up to number 1 who gets 4 and back down etc..) If you can get two more people to agree to it (which I think you can) then we'll change it. owen10ozzy, your up!

If this happens and you still haven't made a pick when it is your turn again, I'll be forced to remove you from the sign up. iamjerome
yeah if 30 players have to be chosen as well... perhaps, submit a set of 7 by PM to coasterkoa once we get back to first choice and he sorts through the list himself if he so wishes to invest the time eg 1-10 have all chosen 2 1-10 pm a further 4 (in order of preference) to coasterkoa coasterkoa then adds number 10's first 2 to his squad, then moves on and adds number 9's top 2 to his, etc. unless #10 has chosen a player ahead in which case he chooses next in preference. and so on. the complication comes in with only having 1 from each country allowed which could have this take a very, very long time but i really want it done! Its true that these things take a long time, but only if people hold it up. I do like your idea though. I'm trying to figure out a good way to do this, so I'll let you know. For now, the draft order has been changed, due to owen10ozzy being late with his picks: 1. magvest (Tonga) Georginio Wijaldum (Holland), Gabriel Obertan (France) 2. And the Xisco at Newcastle, yes? And bretteny1980, I'm also assuming the Cristian Ledesma you want is the Lazio player. 1. magvest (Tonga) Georginio Wijaldum (Holland), Gabriel Obertan (France) 2. The nationality restrictions apply only to your club, not to the entire sign-up, or the round. Also, in the interests of getting this started, we will only do the first two rounds of the draft in a serpentine fashion (1-10, 10-1), and then we'll have a PM system after that.
