`**Planet Stevenage**`

Its time for another review of how the past few games have gone for the Conference Champions of 2003/2004 season.

Well Division 3 life has been hard but it looks as though our goal to avoid relegation may just be achieved.

Having got two defeats in the last session, and of course following it up with some wins I was hoping for a much better performance this time round.

So we started off with the FA Cup third round, we had a very good run last season which helped us well financially, so we want to repeat our feat, wasnt going to be easy as it was one of the midlands first division teams Walsall making the trip to us, we however, enjoyed the challenge and therefore showed them what we're made off by thumping them 4-0, the super captain Juliusson starting the rout which was rounded up by the one and only goal king, Chris Humphreys who bagged another hattrick for the club.

Final Score : Stevenage 4 : 0 Walsall (FA Cup 3rd Round)

So it was back to league action, this time a trip to Bristol Rovers, they're in the play offs and doing very well, with our confidence from the cup win we thought we could do well here, think again, we played better than them, we had more possession, we had more shots but still we some how and only god knows, we got a tonking. The only good thing to come out the match is that young striker Poole did eventually score.

Final Score : Bristol Rovers 4 : 1 Stevenage

Well next up were relegated division two side Port Vale, they're not having the best of seasons and we certainly don't like losing, especially not on scorelines like 4 bloody 1. Well there had to be some team out there we could put our frustration out on, unfortunately for Port Vale, it was going to be them, this game not only let us put a new record into the leagues highest scoring game but also its the highest scoreline of EFB so far, after some swapping of first team members the scorers of the game were O'Donoughe, Juliusson, Campos(2), Huckerby(2), Elding and our pacey young gun Poole got his first hattrick for us.

Final Score : Stevenage 10 : 0 Port Vale

It was another tough game coming up next with Luton, but our set play routine did the trick. O'Donoughe scored again with midfield maestro Brennan getting a second.

Final Score : Stevenage 2 : 1 Luton

It was another away game next and it turned out to be an absolute thriller of a game which wasnt expected at all. Mid-table Hartlepool were our opponents and they put up one hell of a fight which however we came out on top with icon_smile.gif It was the recently new pairing of Elding and Poole who got the goals for us by getting two each.

Final Score : Hartlepool 3 : 4 Stevenage

Next up was the Vans Trophy final, it was time again for our 2nd String to play this game as the fixture list is just too congested and our first team is just in need of a rest here and there so they can concentrate on the league, well the reserves beat Northampton last round but it didnt look like they could do anything against Colchester as we went 2-0 down, however, a change of tactics brought them right back in it as they got it to 2-2 but then a goal well into the 90th minute sealed the win for Colchester, which does us a favour in a way, one less fixture to play. Warner and Blinkhorn scored for us.

Final Score : Colchester 3 : 2 Stevenage

Not a bad session for us, hopefully the next one will produce the goods we're used to and catch Swansea who are in first place.

I think he's too busy celebrating the win that Slovenia got over Croatia in Handball...i mean what a silly sport, they should all be sent off for handling the ball icon_biggrin.gif....anyway, his world will come crashing down when Germany beat them in the final....but thats another matter icon_biggrin.gif

But yeah, come on Kris, I want to see an update on how the foxes have got on and how your running them into administration once again for them icon_biggrin.gif

Up where we belong – 04/05

After the sweet victory over Liverpool and Houlliers subsequent sacking, icon_biggrin.gif West Ham entered 2005 with a high level of confidence.

1st January 2005 - Vs Aston Villa (A)

An eventful game which saw the villans take an early lead through Italian prodigy Sculli on 5 minutes.. Vassell added another on the stroke of halftime to see the Brum boys into the changing room 2 goals to the good.Oliseh pulled one back late on in the first half, but Vassell regained the 2 goal advantage on 83, with Connolly grabbing an 85th minute goal to keep the pressure on but Villa held on to record a 3-2 win. icon_frown.gif

8th January 2005 - Vs Aston Villa FA Cup (A)

Our immediate return to Villa Park, in the FA cup, was a much sweeter experience than the previous week (Jekyll and Hyde??) with Defoe and Connolly both nmetting to put the hammers through to the 4th round, with only Alpays sending off souring an otherwise sweet victory! icon_biggrin.gif

12th January 2005 - Vs Man City (H)

City came to the Boleyn and were happy to put inconsistent West Ham to the sword with a convincing 3-1 victory, Jihai, Vuoso and Macken registering for City and only new boy Fredrik showing any spirit on the West ham team, grabbing the sole consolation. icon_eek.gif

15th January 2005 - Vs WBA (A)

Another lack lustre performance saw the baggies grab a 1-0 vicory at the hawthorns. Neil Clement the scorer.

22nd January 2005 - Vs Derby (A)

The manger was getting agitated by the recent run of poor form and demanded some response form the boys in claret and blue.Ameobi, Thu and Connolly all stepped up to the mark to record a pleasurable 3-0 win at Pride Park, and keep the hammers in touch with a UEFA cup slot. icon14.gif

26th January 2005 - Vs Stoke (A) – League Cup Semi Final (1st Leg)

A big, big game, no doubt, the Millennium Stadium is beckoning for the winner of this 2 legged affair, a trip to the Britannia Stadium in the potteries as West Ham attempt to bring some long overdue silverware to Upton Park for the long suffering fans. Thu and Etherington take West Ham 2-0 up but Hoekstra grabs a lifeline late on top keep the potters in it. 2-1 to the Claret and Blue Army!! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

29th January 2005 - Vs Sunderland (H)

Connolly and Oliseh combined to grab a 3rd successive victory for the Irons, 2-0m Vs the Mackems icon14.gif

The month of January draws toi a close with West Ham sitting 7th in the league, 1 foot in Cardiff in the league cup, and still in the FA cup, not a bad season so far, Bringing in Fredrik and Gavillan to bolster the squad appears to have been a good move, we now enter that crucial phase of the season when all can be won, or lost.

QPR SEASON UPDATE

As the season progress to that critical easter week QPR currently find themselves sitting pretty on the top of the league with a huge 13points ahead from second place.

As clear relagation favourites, rangers are over achieveing big time, but as one win leads to another the confidence is growing and I will release thw whole squad for free if we fail to make the premiership.(they would deserve it)

Top 3 ave ratings:

1)Kristjansson 8.42

2)Semler 7.73

3)Bircham 7.33

Top 3 goalscorers

1)sinama pongolle 25

2)Semler 24

3)Kristjansson 23

However current form is poor having lost 4 and only won one of the last 5 we will be needing the big 3 front man to keep the goals flowing and take us to the promised land . fingers crossed

AFC Wimbledon (H) FA Trophy 5th Round 4-1

A lot of pressure eventually paid off for Stanley as a ball over the defense on the right set Calcutt through, he cut inside and looped a ball into the far top corner of the net to give Stanley the lead after 15mins. Then a fine through ball from Jackson set Devine through 1 on 1 with the keeper and he made no mistake from 18 yards out to put Stanley well on there way to the 6th round. A goal then 4 mins later from Ramage seemed to be the icing on the cake after just 35 mins. Sestanovic made it 4-0 just after h/t before Hughes pulled one back for AFC Wimbledon. FINAL SCORE 4-1

Scarborough (H) –conference 0-0

This was a game which both teams would like to forget. It did nothing to get anyone thinking about the 6th round FA trophy game in a few weeks. The game only had 3 shots on target between the two team which were easily saved by the keepers who had didn’t earn there money on this day. FINAL SCORE 0-0

Dag & Red (A) -conference

The opening goal came from a ball into the corner of the 18 yard box by Newman which found the head of Calcutt, who cushioned the ball down for Jackson to slot the ball home. A Corner swung into the middle of the 6 yard box was met by the head of beard to even the scores up. The lead only lasted a minute when Jeffs on his first start for the club put Stanley back in the lead. Both teams continued to have a lot of chance although didn’t really force either keeper into making any saves. FINAL SCORE 1-2

sorry for this lads but i couldnt beat the last one that was a masterpiece!

Up where we belong – 04/05

As we entered February, the board declared themselves pleased with my progress as manager, Sunday Oliseh picked up the runners up slot in the goal of the month competiotion for his goal against Villa.

2nd February 2005 - Vs Southampton (H)

3 successive victories under the belt gave the West Ham players a real sense of confidence as they entered this game, and it proved well founded with Oliseh and Defoe both scoring to secure all 3 points and a 4th win in a row icon_cool.gif

5th February 2005 - Vs Newcastle (H)

Somewhat controversially, the West Ham manager is locked out of the stadium without a radio or anmy clue of how the game is going ubtil the final result (OK, I had to reboot, and these Basturks didn’t wait for me! Wihth my assistant running the show, I find out at full time that we were stuffed 4-1 with the Geordies registeriung through a Klose hatrick and Kristiansen, Park grabbing our only reply, I give the asst Manger a right old rollicking! icon_mad.gif

9th February 2005 - Vs Stoke (H) League Cup Semi Fibnal 2nd Leg

Having won at Stoke 2-1, the second leg saw West Ham kicking off as hot favourites and rightly so! Connolly grabbed a brace, Oliseh and Thu both adding and even an own goal from Russell to leave West Ham easy winners. 5-0 and Cardiff here we come. icon_biggrin.gificon14.gificon_cool.gif

12th February 2005 - Vs Leeds (A)

After the rampant display against Stoke, another vintage performance saw West Ham put leeds to the sword as Oskarsson netted a hatrick, with Defoe and Ameobi also getting in on the act. Smith was the only bright point for Leeds, grabbing one back in the first half. The Elland road faithful voted with their feet and were seen departing halfway through the 2nd half as Majestic West Ham wrapped up the game in style! 5-1 icon14.gif

19th February 2005 - Vs Newcastle (H) – FA Cup

After my lock out at the last game, I was determined to improve upon our inept performance against the Geordies! Which we did by only losing 1-0 to an early goal from Klose. Out of the FA cup we did tumble. icon_frown.gif

26th February 2005 - Vs Fulham (H)

After a break for internationals, we returned to Upton Park for this derby game, Fredrik scored to show what a snip he was at £150k by providing the only goal of this evenly matched contest. 1-0 and West Ham still in contention for a European place! icon_razz.gif

**Stevenage Planet**

Well it was another action packed few weeks for the third division outfit but I gotta say, we've played some absolutely fantastic football and deserve much better than were we are.

Anyway, lets start the round up......

FA Cup time once again, this time we face another first division side in Sheff Utd, a talented squad, unfortunately for them, we had even more talent icon_biggrin.gif.....despite going down 1-0 early on, we recovered and showed that we can put up a fight by putting not one, not two, not three...**** it, we put seven past them icon_biggrin.gif No competition at all, captain Juliusson started the scoring spree, Campos, Elding and Humphreys also on the scoresheet along with a hattrick from Huckerby.

Final Score : Stevenage 7 : 1 Sheff Utd

Back to some more league action, a very dmminate game for us, but CM's 1 shot 1 goal ration came into play and of course we had to submit to a draw, it was Poole who scored on his return.

Final Score : Stevenage 1 : 1 Oxford

Now to the first of three away games, a difficult trip to Mansfield, well on paper it was but luckily the game doesnt get played on paper and we completely dominated the match once again take the three points back home thanks to goals from L'Honore, Poole and a brace by Humphreys.

Final Score : Mansfield 0 : 4 Stevenage

Its the second of three away games now, certainly not going to be easy, but finally we start playing how we should have been doing and we also start making the best of our goal chances with the welshside Wrexham going down with goals from Juliusson, Humphreys and a brace this time by Poole.

Final Score : Wrexham 0 : 4 Stevenage

Next up are high flying Southen in our final stretch of away games, again we looked on course to winning and taking the three points home, a very dominating match for us and it looked more of a matter of when we score.....however, CM took a different view, so once again, 1shot on target for them ended up in the one and only goal of the game....what an occurance as if we had won then we would be top. Funny old game

Final Score : Southen 1 : 0 Stevenage

Well like before, we don't like losing, so unfortunately our next opponents Woking were in for a kicking, dominating play paid off as we completely humiliated them despite them getting a consolation goal, goals from Juliusson, Poole, Elding and Humphreys completed the rout.

Final Score : Stevenage 5 : 1 Woking

Once again FA Cup time, it was another first division side we faced, Crystal Palace, they took an early lead but we hit straight back, then Palace were out the game completely as another Stevenage domination game began, but no, we somehow couldnt score, god knows why. Poole got the goal for us

Final Score : Stevenage 1 : 1 C.Palace

So then the replay in the 5th round for a tie against Prem side WBA, it was all going well for us, completely over the opposition, we had at least 8 one on ones with the keeper, but it appears as though the AI decided that the best two goal scorers in the third division couldnt score easy chances, it was looking more and more like Palace were going to get through as despite our domination, they were scoring from every shot on goal......2:2 at full time and Palace were lucky, then we scored in extra time....but of course Palace once again with their only shot on goal in extra time, score......off to Penalties and you could tell Palace were going to win, the AI didnt want us to win, So i set up for all my Strikers to take the Penalties........but by CM tradition, it somewhere along the line ****s up completely and all of our defensive players take the pens.....resulting of course in a Palace win.

Final Score : Stevenage 1 : 1 Walsall (C.Palace win via AI wanting them to win)

Well, we don't like losing icon_biggrin.gif With us playing so absolutely brilliant I couldnt see how we lost the last game but the game goes on, now that the FA Cup is out the way, we can concentrate on the last few games of the season, we of course continued our recent good form into every single game that we faced, the drive and determination of the players is beyond believe and they showed that we can score as we again go above the 100 goal barrier in the league........so below are the results of the games we played.

Stevenage 2 : 0 Carlise.

Huckerby,

Poole.

Stevenage 4 : 1 Leyton Orient.

Porarinson,

Juliusson,

Elding,

Poole

Stevenage 3 : 0 Bury.

Sims,

Laker,

Humphreys

Stevenage 6 : 2 Boston.

Poole(4),

Elding,

Campos

Stevenage 2 : 0 Cambridge

Elding(2)

The League cup final. West Brom Vs West Ham, the two newly promoted sides, not only surprising every one by steering clear of the relegation zone, and actually siting high enough to qualify for Europe (Champions League for WBA!!) icon_eek.gif but now contesting another entry route to Europe, the Carling Cup! icon14.gif

6th April 2005 Vs West Bromwich Albion (N)– League Cup Final

West Ham lined up for the final with Kristansen in goal, Bertelsen, Pasanen, Caldwell and Mullins in defence, Sunday, Oskarsson, Etherington and Thu in Midfield with Defoe and Connolly leading the attack. Mullins led the team out to rapturous applause at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. West Brom lined up with Hoult in Goal. Diana, Clement, Mikandawire and Robinson in defence, Thompson, Braathen, O’Connor and Derry in midfield, Hulse and Roberts up front, Thompson wearing the captains armband and walking out next to West Hams Mullins with the mascots by their sides.

After a warm up the players lined up for the first half and West Ham started at a frightening pace and the first goal was not long in coming, Hoult kicked out from his box weakly, Mullins headed on to Defoe from the centre circle, Defoe threaded a ball through to Connolly who let rip on the corner of the box to put the hammers 1-0 in front. The noise from the crowd was deafening as all you could hear was a constant “Paul Rouch’s Claret and Blue Army!†The chants continued until half time as the match was fiercely contested but very even. In the 2nd Half Derry threaded a ball that split the West Ham defence leaving Braathen one on one with Kristiansen, Braathen slotted home. 1-1.West Ham made some changes, Ameobi came on for the tiring Connolly and Fredrik replaced Thu. Robinson and Deryy came off for the Baggies to be replaced by Johnson and Sonko. West Ham restarted the game and soon put the disappointment of losing the lead behind them. West Ham were quick to regain the advantage as Oskarsson provided a wonderful cross to Ameobi on the 72nd minute which Ameobi easily converted. 2-1 and Claret & Blue scarves were being held aloft to the strains of “Bubblesâ€. The Bubbles did not take long to burst however, as the baggies launched a wave of attacks and Thompson eventually found the ball through to Braathen in the box, which he took with aplomb to equalise. 2-2 on 78 and a very exciting finish on the cards! the game had been very even throughout and the final minutes matched this with end to end action, Sam Parkin, on as a sub for Hulse settled it on 88 with Braathen turning provider and setting Parkin an easy opportunity to take the silverware back to the midlands, which he duly converted. 3-2 to the baggies. icon_frown.gif

The final whistle saw the boys in Claret and Blue slump to the pitch, some of the younger players in tears as the brom boys cavorted around the pitch in ecstasy. Paul Rouch was too distraught to say too much at the post game interviews except that he was “gutted for his boys, and of course the fans, who have been superb throughout, they have all given 110% and deserve something more, but it was a game of two halves, and West Brom had had the rub of the green on this occasion. The task now is to pick the lads up for the next league game as there is still a lot to play for. If anyone had told me at the beginning of the season that we would be in a top 6 position at this stage and just played in a league cup final, I would have laughed at them!†The final credits on match of the day showed the West Ham Manager with a comforting arm round young Trond Erik Bertelsel who was utterly heartbroken with tears rolling down his face. The lip readers have already spotted that rouchie is saying “Next years son, next yearâ€

Margate (H) –conference

Stanley got off to a great start when Jackson opening the scoring after just 8 mins of the match, when Devine put a ball through the defense leaving Jackson with a simple finish. Margate then equalizer early in the second half with a simple tap in at the front post after a mistake from the Stanley defense. Margate then took a deserved lead with a superb strike from outside the area. The lead only lasted 2min as Brooks hit back for Stanley to get an undeserved point. 2-2

Scarborough (A) –FA Trophy 6th Round

A very one sided game were Accrington being by far the best team. The only thing that they couldn’t do was find the net. There best chance fell to Jackson who was clean through when he was brought down by the Scarborough defender though they wasted the free-kick that followed. FINAL SCORE 0-0

Scarborough (H) –FA Trophy 6th Round Replay

Another good start for Stanley, but still couldn’t find the net. The games first goal came from Scarborough on 59mins. A great run by Quayle and a superb finish by the man from just inside the area gave Scarborough and undeserved lead with there first attempt on goal. Stanley then pulled it back on 72 mins when a shot from Sutton was parried away only into the path of Devine who put the ball into the empty net. Stanley then took the lead on 83mins when Calcutt powered a header home from a Forsyth corner. Ramage then secured the win in the last minute head from another corner. FINAL SCORE 3-1

Telford (A) -conference

A very tight first half with only 1 shot in the first 45mins. The second half started a lot better a good move down the right, squared the ball into the area and Devine finished calmly to give Stanley the lead. The lead lasted just 60 seconds when Basham was set through into the area and he made no mistake from close range. Aldershot then took the lead 15mins later when a good cross to the near post and Miller got up in front of the Stanley defender to head home. FINAL SCORE 2-1

TIGERS RAMPANT PART 1

THE LEAGUE STORY

Well after the demolition it was the turn of Bristol City to try and get points off Hull in the top of the table clash. It was a tense start from both teams but Hull started to dominate and in the end came away with a solid 2-0 win. the goals coming from new loan signing Ostemobor notching his first for the club and then da man Ritchie Partridge sealing the win with a great strike.

Hull v Blackpool - 3-0

This was Hull's bogey team. Having never beaten them in Hepburn's reign as manager he was sick of the sight of them. But in previous games Hepburn did not have Ritchie Partridge at his disposal as it was he who grabbed the headlines with a stunning hat-trick is finally give Hepburn his first win over Blackpool.

Oldham v Hull - 0-2

Again another game another win for Hull who were making a habit of winning game after game. This time it was Oldham to suffer at the hands of the tigers who ripped them apart with ease in a totally one sided contest. The man who did the damage on the day was Ritchie Partridge who was becoming a hero to the Hull faithful. it could have been more but Hepburn will just settle for a win.

Brentford v Hull - 4-0

Well all good things come to an end and Hull's unbeaten came to an end in spectacular fashion. Hepburn rested a couple of players in a changed Hull lineup and it was clear the replacements were just not up to the job especially up front. The defence had a nightmare and Alan Fettis had a nightmare in goal as well. icon_frown.gif

Sheffield Wednesday v Hull - 1-1

As anticipated this was a real tough match for Hull away at one of the sleeping giants of english football. To their credit they gave Wednesday a tough game but just did not have any luck in front of goal. In the end a draw was a fair result although Wednesday would feel more aggreived they did not take maximum points in this one. Hull's goal came from Stuart Elliot.

Grimsby v Hull - 1-3

Hull got back to winning ways with a sensational 3-1 victory over a poor Grimsby who were second best all over the pitch. Again it was that man Partridge who plotted Grimsby's downfall by bagging a brace and an own goal from Davison sealed a superb win for Hull.

Hull v Swindon - 3-1

Off the back of that glorious win at Grimsby was another win at The Circle against lowly Swindon. Another splendid performance saw Hull cruise to victory. Goals from Greg Strong, Richie partridge and Danny Allsopp gave Hull the win.

Hull v Wigan - 0-1

Well going into this game Hull were flying, at the end of the day they were feeling low. Wigan again defeated Hull with a solid performance at the back and the keeper played well. In truth though Hull just could not hit the target often enough to seriously trouble the Wigan keeper. It was a counter attack that led to Wigan's goal in game Hull fans were very disappointed with.

Hull v Plymouth - 4-0

After an indifferent performance from Hull in the last game Hepburn had them on the training ground for some shooting practice and boy did it pay off. They tore Plymouth apart making the keeper work a hell of a lot more than the Wigan keeper. Again the main arcitect behind this win was Richie Partridge who helped himself to another hat-trick and Guy Branston weighed in with another goal.

Cheltenham v Hull - 2-0

This was perhaps the worst performance of the season for Hepburn's men. Cheltenham attacked them at will and Hull did not put up any resistance. This was a huge match for both clubs as both were potential title winners. Hepburn was fuming with his players at the end of this one as he was seen on camera berating the players as they walked off the pitch. This was a side never seen before in Hepburn and a few of the players were shocked by this side of their manager.

Chesterfield v Hull - 1-3

Whatever Hepburn said in the dressing room last week it did wonders for the players. Again this was another huge match as the title race was growing closer and closer. Instead of defending, Hull were doing much of the attacking as the raced away with this game with goals from Partridge, Strevens and an absolute beauty for McAnuff whose first goal for Hull he will never forget.

Hull v Wycombe - 0-1

This was a game Hull had to win to stay in touch with the automatic promotion spots. The fans were up for it but again the players were fairly subdued and failed to hit top gear as Wycombe scrapped for every ball as they are fighting for division 2 survival. It was almost as if Hull thought they were meant to turn up and win. Hepburn again became more and more aggitated with is players as the end of the season is drawing closer. He was seen having a few choice words with some players who are starting to fall below the standards they have set.

Colchester v Hull - 2-2

This was a game Hull had to take something from otherwise their hopes of automatic promotion were over. Hull started off superbly well going 2-0 up through goals from Richie Partridge and Stuart Elliot. In the second half however they caved in as Colchester hit them with everything and came away with a 2-2 draw that was reallt no good to Hull. Hopes of automatic promotion now seem a million miles away as their form is starting to stutter big time when they need wins the most. icon_frown.gif

Hull v Barnsley - 2-2

Now things were starting to get serious as Barnsley came to The Circle in buoyant mood as they would have looked at Hull's recent form and seen that it was not very good. So they came to The Circle and from the off attacked Hull and this paid off by going a goal up. Hull came back into the game with a goal from Richie Appleby. Hull then found themselves 2-1 up through a penalty from Allsopp but Barnsley earned a deserved equaliser as they had put so much into the game.

**Stevenage Planet**

Back Where We Belong

Well we didnt see much action in tonights sessions, the season is starting to come to a final close with seven games left to play.

Stevenage currently in second place four points behind Southend of all teams. Next up where third place Swansea and play off contenders Huddersfield.

So we went to Wales all geared up to face Swansea when our second choice keeper is injured for two weeks followed by our first choice keeper being injured for three weeks.....we're left with our third choice who absolutely ****e and lets in literally every shot on goal.

So we got to the kick off and played very well indeed, our traditional dominating game to be infact and we took a deserved lead through our recent player of the month and very instrumental Jorge Campos, we then increased the lead through the goal king himself Chris Humphreys, the three points looked on the table but then Swansea did get a 25yard shot on goal direct at the keeper who of course as **** as he is, let it in.

Final Score : Swansea 1 : 2 Stevenage

With that win and also Southend losing it takes us within a point of the league leaders and only 6games left meaning we had an even better chance of catching that all deserved top spot which we should have.

With our keeper crisis as bad as it is, we went on a manhunt for a keeper, we put in numerous bids and all of them were turned down......apart from Ajax keeper Zwickler who agreed to come on loan.

So it was time to entertain the home fans once more, this time Huddersfield paid us a visit, very nice indeed as they didnt cause us any trouble at all and let us play our own dominate game once more. A classic corner meant that centre back Laker got another goal followed with another goal from Elding, Zwickler was in goal for his debut and was kept very quiet indeed, he had to make only one save.

Final Score : Stevenage 2 : 0 Huddersfield

Southend once again did us proud as we go top, thats right, Top of the league where we belong, our aim is to win the final 7 games, we've won two of them so far and only five more are left.

I'm pretty confident we can now go on and stay top of the league, our keepers have now also come back from injury meaning that we should be back to full strength in all departments.

With our efforts last month, Campos was given the player of the month award, he made five assists.

Also in the honours was yours truly, once again winning the manager of the month award icon_smile.gif

He´s young, he´s good looking, he´s smart. He´s the son you never had. The boyfriend you´ll never get. They say all women love him, that all men want to be him, the slovenian anwser to Enrique Iglesias and Vin Diesel combined.. He˙s back, and he joined us, ladies, gentleman, girls and boys, let me introduce you the new manager of Leicester city, Kris!!

These were the things that happened 4months ago in Leicester, but lets go even more back a bit. Rumours were spreading Kris *we wont give you his last name* was interested in comming out of retirement and interested in bringing his new favourite club Leicester city the glory it and most, its fans deserved so much. Despite Leicester firmly sitting in 9th place and having a OK season so far, fans shouted for Kris *we wont give you his last name* every home game, and what should be, was made happened. The old manager was fired, and Kris *we wont give you his last name* was hired...

4months passed now, and its time to give the world an insight how life is going in Leicester. The team is sitting in third place with a game its hand and 1point behind the second placed team of Charlton. The game in hand is a big one, Coventry vs Leicester, the 4th placed team against the 3rd placed team, sold out...

COVENTRY vs LEICESTER

Both teams missing some players here, the biggest one on Leicester´s side though, Michale Bridges, the ex Leeds player currently out for 5months with a broken leg is desperatly missed by the foxes. Starting in his place is 19year old welsh hopefull Adam Birch, other than that no extra drama..

Its an up and down match, lots of chances on both sides but both GK´s are having a great day. First chance for Leicester in the 12minute but Birch misses the penalty!! Not the start of the game he had in mind.. Halftime...Birch comes out of the game and in comes the first signing of new Leicester boss Kris *we wont give you his last name* Christer George, the norwegian capped forward. Games goes up and down till the 85th minute when Weissenberger scores the 1:0 goal, Coventry try to get back into the match but George burries them in the counter with a lovely 2:0, game over! Leicester win, leicester win!! Coventry 0 Leicester 2 (Weiseenberger 85, George 90th, MOM leicester GK Ian Walker)

So Leicester are finnaly where they belond, on a place for automatic promotion with 2points ahead of Charlton. Next game up, Rotherham united come to pay a visit..

LEICESTER vs ROTHERHAM

Lovely spring day in leicester with a crowd of 30.000 fans turned up for the clash of two top10 placed div1 teams. Rotherham is currently sitting in 9th place with good chances at the playoffs. Leicester were hit in the week again by an injury, with youn 19year old right back Vaughan unable to participate in matches for 2months. Another change from the last game is Christer George got the start in place of Birch, the looks like too young striker yet for div1 promotion battles. Off we go..

No real drama here.. Leicester are dominating from the get go and George gets his first goal in the 18th minute to push the foxes 1:0 ahead. George latter also scores in the 36th minute and crowns his game with a hattrick with a 45th minute third goal. Game finishes 3:0 for the foxes with George getting a 10 and being MOM. Leicester 3 Rotherham 0 (George 18,36,45)

London, Monday night, Sky live!

The clash of the first placed team of QPR managed by the very good Mark Brown vs the second placed team of Leicester city managed by the good looking Kris *we still wont give you his last name man!!*. The venue is set, the nation is watching, lets bring it on!

QPR vs LEICESTER

Another key injury to Leicester, first team GK and the experienced leader of the team Ian Walker was hit by an injury and is unable to defend the blue colours of the foxes, his place is taking backup GK Danny Coyne, lets go Danny!!

Start of the match the QPR are dominating, creating various chances in the first 20mins but the Leicester defence and GK Danny Coyne have something against the QPR early lead. Then it happens, Borut Semler, the yonug slovenian striker shots from the edge of the area and its in, QPR 1 Leicester 0! We go to halftime...

Kris *For crying out loud, NO!!* makes a tactical change, Charles Akonnor takes the place in central midfield for attacking but today unlucky midfielder Marcus Weissenberger. And it pays huge dividends! Akonnor with a corner in the 59th minute, it comes to James Scowcroft, goal!!! 1:1, Leicester strike out of nothing!! QPR are shocked.. Leicester smell their chance and wake up, they want a second here and they get the chance for it. Akonnos is brought down around 20m out of the goal, he´ll take that free kick by himself.......GOAL!! What a BEAUTY! Leicester are 2:1 up, QPR try attacking but look too shocked to recover, game is over. Foxes win, foxes win, foxes win!! Leicester up by 4points now on the third placed team of Charlton! QPR 1 Leicester 2 (Semler 39/Scowcroft59, Akonnor75, MOM leicester gk Coyne)

...to be continued...

Exeter (H) - FA Trophy semi-final leg 1

It took 52 mins for Stanley to open the scoring and when they did 3 came along in 5 mins. The first was scored by Jackson who calmly chipped the Exeter keeper from outside the area with great composure. Sutton then got 2 of his own. His first was a ball that wasn’t cleared which feel to O’Neil who chipped the ball into the area leaving the keeper stranded and left Sutton with a easy header. His second was again a cross from O’Neil from wide on the left to the near post which Sutton tucked away with great composure from close range. Sutton then got his hat trick late on to almost secure Stanley a place in the final after just the first leg. 4-0

Exeter (A) - FA Trophy semi-final leg 2

The main action in the first half was a sending off for Exeter’s Deveroux who brought down Jackson while he was clean through on goal leaving the ref no option but to send him off. The only goal of the game came when a ball to the right wing near the edge of the area found Newton who put a ball into the box which was met by Devine who put the ball away calmly to seal the win and a trip to the final for Stanley. FINAL SCORE 0-1

Hereford (A) - conference

The first real chance of the game fell came after a cross by Newton into the box which (NAME) blasted over the bar from close range at the end of the first half. Stanley broke the dead lock when a Scott shot from the edge of the area took a deflection and beat the Aldershot keeper. The lead lasted just 2 mins. When Forsyth brought down an Aldershot attacker just out side the area and was sent off. the resulting free-kick was put into the top corner by Carey-Bertram. FINAL SCORE 1-1

Nuneaton Borough (A) -conference

Stanley took the lead in this game after just 11 mins when a ball was played through to Scott who put the ball low past the Nuneaton Keeper. Stanley made it two when a cross into the area was met by Newman who finished well. Stanley then made it 3 when a shot by Sutton was parried into Scott’s path who placed the ball into the open goal. Then Nuneaton got one back from the spot before Macdonald got one on 90 mins to really make the last few mins tense. The tension only lasted a few second as Stanley’s Sutton wrapped up a man of the match performance with a powerful finish 1 on 1.

Up where we belong – 04/05

After the disappointment of the League cup final loss Rouch had the difficult task of focussing his young teams mind back on the league to try and protect their European Qualifying position

19th March 2005 - Vs Everton (H)

Our next opposition was the premiership strugglers, Everton. Thu secured a first half lead and Etherington sealed the win late in the 2nd half. 2-0 icon_smile.gif

23rd March 2005 - Vs Arsenal (A)

We then travelled across London to Highbury only to be met by the top of the league, in top form, Henry grabbing one in each half, and Parlour making it a comfortable 3-0 runout for the goners. icon_frown.gif

26th March 2005 - Vs Birmingham (A)

The hammers rolled into Birmingham next to face the porn kings boys in blue, another disappointing day for the claret and blue faithful as Dugarry netted a brace to Ameobi’s sole reply. 2-1 to the Brum boys. icon13.gif

9th April 2005 - Vs Man Utd (H)

After a break for internationals West Ham were playing host to Manchester United, not exactly the confidence boosting opposition you need when on a poor run of form! However, West Ham defied the bookies by securing all 3 points with an early penalty tucked away by Etherington, and a scorcher from Connolly in the second half to give the home side a 2-0 victory! icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

16th April 2005 - Vs Wolves (A)

West Hams Yo-Yo form continued as the hapless hammers journeyed to the Midlands again, and came home with zero points again! Even the presence of new boy Robinho failed to galvanise the team into winning form. An abject 3-0 defeat with Kennedy Smertin and Sturridge all scoring in the first half. West Ham did stir into life in the 2nd half, and probably deserved to get on the score sheet as the change in tactics allowed the Hammers to exert more pressure. West Ham still sitting 6th and in that vital European qualifying place, but much more of this erratic form could sse them drop out of the reckoning quite quickly! icon_eek.gif

25th April 2005 - Vs Middlesborough (H)

Defoe was publicly criticised by his manager after last weeks performance,. He obviously took the criticism to heart and decided the best way to respond was with a top draw performance and goals. “ in the firs half set the hammers on their way, Etherington settled nerves in the second half after Okocha pulled one back for boro. 3-1 the score. icon_cool.gif

30th April 2005 - Vs Portsmouth (A)

Next a visit to the seaside to play at the tip that is Fratton Park. After 3 successive away defeats, West Ham needed to prevent the sequence becoming a monkey on their back! Pompey took the lead on 41 minutes and the West Ham faithfull began to fear another away day blues coming on! Thu quickly equalised however and the teams went in at half time level. The second half saw West Ham miss a number of gilt edged chances that could have wrapped the game up for them,.It finished 1-1 which a t least stopped the away losing streak, but still leaves the hammers without an away win in 4 games now.

Burton Albion (H) –conference

a very poor Stanley team was beaten by a far better Burton team on the day. Burton took the lead just before the half time. A ball down the right found Anderson who put the ball away well from a tight angle. His then got his second on the hour mark when a ball across the box left him with just a tap in to seal the 3 points. FINAL SCORE 0-2

Maccelsfield (H) –conference

Maccelsfield took the lead when the winger got to the goal like and squared the ball to Whitaker who tucked the ball away from near the penalty spot. Stanley hit back on 55 mins with a Jackson goal which he scored from the rebounds off his missed penalty. Then on 86 mins Stanley took the lead when a run into the area from Jackson who found Calcutt at the back post who finished calmly into the net. FINAL SCORE 2-1

Southport (A) –conference

Last game of the season and Stanley was on fine form. It took them 45 mins to finally get through the Southport defense but it was just a matter of time. The goal came from a penalty which Jackson converted. The second came after a great long run and shot by Jeffs and Devine was on hand to tuck the rebound into the net. Southport then scored a soft goal as Byrne run into the area un-challenged and slotted home with ease. A long ball over the top found O’Neil who had time and the composure to drive home his second of the game. Calcutt then scored the best goal of the game with a run down the right wing cut inside beating the defender and cheekily lifting the ball over the keeper. FINAL SCORE 1-4

Nuneaton Borough (N) –FA Trophy Final

A excellent performance by Stanley who dominated from the first minute of the game but just couldn’t get the ball in the net. The break through did come and not before time when Calcutt scored a header from the edge of the area. Then on 90 mins he rounded up a superb man of the match performance with his second goal which was created by an O’Neil run into the area and after his shot was save by the keeper he managed to get onto the rebound and found Calcutt at the back post to finish off Nuneaton.

Another good season for the Chairman, fans and the manager after the team got a good safe position just out of the playoffs when the expected to just survive in the conference, also a win in the FA trophy with a 2-0 win at the millennium stadium over Nuneaton showed the team are ready to have a go at promotion next season.

TIGERS RAMPANT - PART 2 - THE CHAMPIONSHIP RUN IN

Notts County (A) - 1-2

This was a game where Hepburn will feel disappointed his strikers did not find their shooting boots and his defence was just non exsistent. Yes Notts County scored from two counter attacks and punished the woeful finishing from the Hull strikeforce. Notts County were 2-0 up and Paulinho pulled one back for Hull but in the end it wasn't enough as the blew chance after chance in front of goal.

HULL V TRANMERE (H) - 2-0

Hull were now in desperate need of some points as automatic promotion was slipping away from them. Tranmere were next to visit The Circle and they did not come away with anything as Hull's players stepped up their performance level and took them apart. It was a timely win and kept alive their slim hopes of automatic promotion. Goals from Richie Partridge and Danny Allsopp gave Hull a superb victory.

STOCKPORT V HULL (A) - 2-0

This was another great win showing that when Hepburn required his players to perform they did it. All over the pitch they matched and bettered Stockport and Stockport had no answer to the rampant Tigers. Goals from Paulinho and Danny Allsopp gave Hull yet another win to boost their hopes even further.

HULL V PETERBROUGH (H) - 2-1

The impossible was now becoming the possible as Hull edged closer to that second automatic promotion spot with this win against Peterbrough. In the first half it was all Hull and they should have been 6 or 7 up at half time but had to settle for 2. In the second half they eased off the gas much to the annoyance of Hepburn and let Peterbrough back in the game. The Hull defence had a few let offs before a Gary Rodgers goal set up a nervy finish but it was not to be for Peterbrough. Hepburn breathed a huge sigh of relief when the referee blew the final whistle.

TORQUAY V HULL (A) - 3-0

Cometh the hour, cometh the man and that man was Johan Porhallsson. Yes back into the team due to an injury to Elliot he took the opportunity to prove his worth to the Hull cause as he grabbed a brace to secure another victory in the run in. He has not had the best of seasons but came up with a huge performance when it was needed. Richie Partridge sealed the win with a superb solo effort that went in off the post.

HULL V LINCOLN CITY (H) - 1-0

This was it for Hull, all or nothing. They had gotten to the last day of the season and somehow managed to still be in the hunt for that second automatic promotion spot. It was simple - Hull had to win and Colchester had to lose. It was a tough situation to be in but the Hull players stuck to their part of the bargain. They put in a tireless performance as they bombarded the Lincoln goal in the hope of glory. After a goaless first half the tigers did not have anything to show for their efforts despite creating numerous chances. it seemed the Lincoln keeper was having one of those days. But again it was that man Porhallsson who came up with a superb goal in the 69th minute to secure the win for Hull. He became an instant hero in the eyes of the Hull faithful and he was cleary happy about scoring what proved to be the only goal of the game. Then came the agonizing wait as Plymouth and Colchester were battling it out.... Then it was sheer elation and news filtered through to The Circle that Colchester had lost 4-2 to Plymouth and Hull weere going up as runners up!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What followed was a brilliant celebration for what had been a long season for Hull but it was all worthwhile as they were up to division 1.

The League Cup

Just like last season Hull went out of this competition in the first round with a terrible performance away to Blackpool. They were outplayed and outfought but almost managed to pull off an unlikely victory. Full time it was 3-2 to Blackpool after Hull had twice came from behind but Blackpoolscored their winner and progressed to the next round.

The FA Cup

What a rollercoaster cup run Hull had this year. it all started off back in November as non league Hitchin came to the Circle and were promptly thrashed for their efforts. Goals from Guy Branston, Danny Allsopp and a brace from Sturat Elliot saw Hull safely through to round two.

In round two they faced fellow championship chasers Chesterfield of division 2. The first match ended in a draw as Hull let a 1-0 lead slip through their fingertips. In the replay Hull showed why not many teams come away with anything from The Circle as they took Chesterfield apart with a superb performance. goals from Richie Appleby and Stuart Elliot saw Hull through yet again.

In round three Hull managed to avoid one of the big guns but still faced a tricky tie away to eventual division 2 champions Bristol City. This seemed to be a tough game but a stunning performance later saw Hull through 3-1 with goals from Richie Partridge and a double from Danny Allsopp to secure a place in round four.

In round 4 Hull again avoided a big team and were drawn away at third division strugglers Leyton Orient. A throughly professional and ruthless performance ensued as Hull put poor Leyton to the sword with a great performance and a 6-1 victory. Goals from Stewart Downing, Dean Keates, Jobi McAnuff and a brilliant hat trick from Partridge ensured Hull would be in the fifth round draw.

In the fifth round draw they were to receive possibly thee hardest tie. Premiership champions Manchester Utd were to visit The Circle in one of the ties of the round. Hull had faced a second string Utd side last year in the League Cup but Man Utd in the FA Cup was surely to provide a real test for Hull. However all this talk of Man Utd and thrashings seemed to really spur hull on as they ran out surprising but very worthy 4-1 winners. Yes folks that is not a misprint. it was Hull City 4 v 1 Man Utd Hepburn and the whole of Hull could not believe their eyes as they took apart these superstars in a truely memorable game. What followed can only be described as sensational and other superlatives. let's just say the whole of hull would be very very hungover due to this result. It was that good.

Into the quarter finals Hull went and were feeling they could take on anyone. They got Newcastle at home and the Hull fans were in confident mood. However it had seemed Newcastle had really done their homework on Hull and really stopped them playing any football at all. Hull's cause was not helped by Appleby being shown the red card after only 19 minutes of this contest. Newcastle really showed their class and ripped Hull apart. Wave after wave of attack proved fruitless as they found Hull goalkeeper Alan fettis in superman mood. he saved absolutely everything Newcastle threw at him and gave Hull a 0-0 draw. It was then onto another replay at the noisy St James park the home of Newcastle Utd. Newcastle this time came away with the win but not after Hull had two goals wrongly disallowed as tv evidence was to prove. Newcastle did deserve their win but Hepburn was not happy. He slated the referee and assistants live on Sky and was heavily punished as a result. So their FA Cup run came to an end but Hull can be proud of their efforts. :thup

Auto Vans Trophy

Hull managed to go all the way in this tournament as Hepburn delivered his first cup during his reign as manager. It was a fairly untroubled run as they went passed Notts County, Chesterfield, Hartlepool, Shrewsbury and Grimsby to qualify for the final. Hepburn was expecting to be playing Stephen Gold's Stevenage but they suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Colchester in the semi final.

So it was on to the magnificent Millenium Stadium in Cardiff where Hull faced an impressive Colchester outfit. This was a very tight and tense game with both teams not wanting to let their supporters down on their big day out. It finished 1-1 at full time and then up stepped another prolific marksman to win the cup for Hull. That man was Danny Allsopp who scored the winner in the 103 minute to give Hull the win on the silver goal rule.

Tigers Summary

In a live and exclusive interview to Sky Sports News Hull manager Andrew Hepburn talked about his team and how they had done. He said,

"Well overall i was extremely pleased at the way that ma team went aboot there business this season. Aye it had ups and doons but runners up in the league, Fa Cup quarter finalists and winning the Auto Vans trophy in one season canny be bad by any standards. I felt we should of won the league but we were sloppy in games and I wisnae pleased wi ma team at times. We were unlucky at times but overall am happy with the way we performed.".

Indeed Hepburn has plenty to celebrate and also to look forward to in division one where he will be looking for Hull to make an impact just like they have done this season. Hopefully he will get a nice transfer kitty and go about spending it wisely to ensure more success for the Tigers. Bring on next season.

On a sad note the inspirational Richie Partridge will miss most of next season due to cruicate ligament damage sustained at training. Our thoughts are with this superstar in the making as he fights his way back to full fitness. It will be a long journey but I am sure he will return an even better player. All sympathies and donations can be made to Andrew Hepburn at Hull City FC as he trys to find a replacement for his superstar player. icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif

**Stevenage Planet** : The Final Countdown

Well after our last two games we managed to claim back the spot that rightfully belongs to us, top of the league of course. Well there is only five games left to play to see if we can hold out and once again get promoted.

Well once again having met up with the players in the dressing room I told them that it would be an excellent finish to the season if we win the remaining fixtures, it would certainly win us the league and thats what we gotta strive for.

So our final five fixtures were certainly not going to be easy, the line up, Yeovil away, Doncaster, Scunthorpe away, Rochdale and finishing with Darlington away.

Yeovil vs Stevenage

The home team win the **** and decide to kick off, great decision for them as within minutes they get a corner, manager Dennis Wise whips it in and the home team lead 1-0. Well thats about as good as it got for Yeovil, for the next 80minutes it was a one sided affair going Stevenages way, set pieces, corners and countering attacks lead to the home fans leaving early, a hattrick from Huckerby, a brace from Elding and to round things off, a goal from the master himself Humphreys secured the three points.

Full Time : Yeovil 1 : 6 Stevenage

Stevenage vs Doncaster

Doncaster came to pay us a visit, they were hoping for a good result to help their play off position, we could relax a little as Southend lost giving us a four point cushion. Well the game was pretty one sided but the scoreline certainly doesnt reflect that, a typical corner headed in by centre back Laker secured the points.

Full Time : Stevenage 1 : 0 Doncaster

Scunthorpe vs Stevenage

What a big game for Scunthorpe this one is, if they lose, then it would mean that they are relegated to the conference. It wasnt the best start for them as they give away an early pen which gets converted by club captain Juliusson. Both teams then went on to have some real decent chances but never scored, that showed really why Scunthorpe are now relegated, just not good enough, another lovely three points to us.

Full Time : Scunthorpe 0 : 1 Stevenage

Stevenage vs Rochdale

Another team coming to visit us who are in need of points for their play off position, well it was 0-0 until.......wait for it.....yep you guess it......wrong icon_smile.gif Andy's connections went dead, just moments after Paul had a power cut. Anyhow, Andy returned swiftly, we resumed the game and we found we're starting to be good at these 1-0 wins as Laker once again headed in from a corner.

Full Time : Stevenage 1 : 0 Rochdale

With our new friends Southend doing us so many favours we had now of course won the league as they kept losing and us winning icon_smile.gif We went into the final game pretty relaxed but i let the players know that i wanted to win this game too to round off a good season.

Darlington vs Stevenage

It was once again our usual game and we then also showed them why we are the champions, some very flowing football produced some wonderful goals which were scored by Poole, Elding and a very on-form Huckerby. We did concede one but we honestly didnt care as we were too busy knocking the champers down our neck.

Full Time : Darlington 1 : 3 Stevenage

So yes, after a hard fought season in which we are suppose to avoid relegation, we beat all odds and became the champions of division three.

Two Successive Promotions, Two table topping performances, Champions once again, Fans were extremely thrilled with the success thats currently happening at the club and hope it continues, Board members were said to be delighted and were amazed on how Gold has turned the club from a mid table conference side into championship contenders.

*** EFB Zeitung ***

The time has come upon us again, another season of thrills and spills has been completed. Once again we get to look back at an action packed season for all managers involved with EFB and see exactly how they got on.

Below is how Season Two completed......

FA Barclaycard Premiership

There was only one EFB manager this season taking on the elite of the Premiership, it was of course Paul Rouch who had lead his West Ham team to the first division crown last season, The Hammers are tipped for relegation but manager Paul Rouch was very confident that they could do a lot better than that and even jokingly tipped them for title contenders.

It certainly wasnt Man Utd seasons, they where no were to be seen for the defence of their title, this seasons Premiership Crown goes back to London where once again Arsenal claim the title. Runners Up spot was certainly a shock as newly promoted West Brom made an appearance, following them and gaining champions league qualification are Newcastle and Blackburn.

It was also a fantastic season for West Ham who finished 7th, they did lead the Premiership at one stage just as West Brom did, The Hammers did themselves proud in their first season and have also qualified for the Uefa Cup.

At the other end of the table however it certainly wasnt good news for three teams as they just went good enough and will find themselves back in the first division next season, the three at the foot of the table and relegated are Portsmouth, Derby and Fulham.

Golden Boot

Well last season he got 21 goals and got third place, well he certainly wanted the Golden Boot this year as he knocked in 33 goals for The Gunners, its none other than Thierry Henry. He's followed by the West Ham duo of Jermaine Defoe and David Connolly who scored 21 goals each.

Assists

Most goals are a team effort and there is always one player who just seems to make that right pass to set them up, this season topping the table with 14 assists is Arsenal striker Kanu, he's closely followed by three players who made 13 assists each, they are Bastürk of Man City, Matt Jansen of Blackburn and Newcastle striker Miroslav Klose.

Average Ratings

There are good players and then there are World Class players, it was again another sensational season, better than last year for him in which he also won this award, of course Thierry Henry takes this award making a double with his Golden Boot award. Also putting in some fantastic performances were Newcastle striker Miroslav Klose and also Blackburns Super keeper Brad Friedel.

Nationwide Division One

Having secured promotion via the play offs last season, Mark Brown's QPR side were ready to battle it out in the first division, their just one step away from the top flight, can they get promoted again? only time will tell. Also joining in the action of the first division is Kris Koprivnik who joined in just after half way of the season and took the role of Leicester manager.

With some fantastic loan signings from the Premiership, they certainly showed some class and took the First Division crown in style without too much trouble, the team crowned champions and joining the top flight will be QPR who make it two successive promotions. His side were followed by a late winning run from Leicester who take the second automatic promotion spot and also join them in The Premiership next season.

It certainly was a fight for them play off places but they were finally settled, this season saw Sunderland, Charlton, Rotherham and Millwall battle it out for that third promotion spot, it was Charlton and Sunderland who progressed to the final. It was certainly a good final and it saw Sunderland come from behind and win 3 : 1, it certainly was another classic play off final.

Play Off Final : Charlton 1 : 3 Sunderland

From Promotions to Relegation, of course not every team can stay in Division and there were some really poor performances by some teams which of course lead to them being rooted to the bottom of the table and eventually being relegated, this season see's Burnley, Preston and Walsall take the drop to Division Two.

Golden Boot

Last season it was an on-loan Premiership striker taking the Golden Boot, well no change this season as Liverpool starlet Sinama-Pongolle on-loan at QPR took the award by scoring 28 goals, he was followed closely by fellow QPR team mate Borut Semler with 27, there were three players joint in third place as they scored 25 goals each, Proctor of Sunderland, Rotherham striker Byfield and once again a QPR striker, this time Kristjansson.

Assists

Having come third place in the Golden Boot he showed that he was a class act by topping the assists rankings, its of course QPR striker Kristjansson who made 24 assists, once again QPR are runners up too and once again missing out on top spot is Borut Semler who this time made 20 assists. Stoke's Ade Akinbiyi took third place after making 17 assists.

Average Ratings

Well he certainly be stopped this season, he was involved in everything that QPR were doing and quite easily deserved this trophy to go along with the other he has won, thats right, you've guessed it, Kristjansson picks up another award by topping the average rankings. He's joined by Rushden striker Lowe and once again team mate Borut Semler who also put in some superb performances through out the season.

Nationwide Division Two

Having missed out on a possible promotion place last season, we once again see Edan Waldmann and his Peterborough side battle it out in the second division, he's joined by Third Division Champions Hull managed by Andrew Hepburn, can either side make a push towards the First Division.....

It was an absolute cracker this season, it went all the way down to the wire on exactly who would get the automatic promotion and who would have to fight it out in the play offs. It was all action affair on the last game of the season, with so many teams in contentation for promotion but eventually it was Bristol City who took the championship by two points, the second automatic promotion spot was taking by......Hull City, a 1-0 win on the final day saw them edge out the competition and snatch that second place., this certainly made manager Andrew Hepburn excited as at one point he thought he was completely out of the running.

With automatic promotion places settled, it was time for an exciting play off competition, it saw Colchester, Sheff Wed, Chesterfield and Cheltenham battle it out for the third promotion places. It was Chesterfield and Sheff Wed who made the best of their chances and lined up an action packed final, the score line certainly makes this a one sided affair, with Chesterfield going down to ten men within 6minutes, Sheff Wed made the most of the advantage and put three past Chesterfield.

Play Off Final : Chesterfield 0 : 3 Sheff Wed

Well it was pretty close near the bottom of the table too, there were four relegation places which had to be filled, the teams who were just not good enough for the second division were Swindon, Notts County, Wycombe and Stockport.

Golden Boot

The Golden Boot was shared this season between Sheff Wed's Kuqi and Colchesters Wayne Andrews who both notched in 33 goals each. In third place with 28 goals is Plymouth's Martin Wood.

Assists

It was a Wigan player topping the Assists Rankings with a total of 22 assists which were made by Gary Teale, in second place its Dene Cooper (Colchester) with 20 assist followed by a joint third place with Allsopp (Hull) and McCann (Cheltenham) making 19 assists each.

Average Ratings

Even beeing injured for four months didnt make a difference to the performances that Hull's superstar midfielder made, its Ritchie Partridge who tops the rest with some superb performances, Nathan Ellington (Wigan) and Stuart Elliot (Hull) also put in some truly amazing performances to go second and third place in the rankings.

Nationwide Division Three

This season it see's the Conference champions battle it in the Third Division, Stephen Gold's Stevenage side are strongly tipped for relegation despite their domination last season, will they go down or stay up......

What a fantastic finish it, Gold's Stevenage showed once again what a class act they are by knocking in over 120 goals and taking the the Third Division title making it two successive Championship Crowns, following them in automatic promotion places are Swansea and Southend.

Well there were four places up for grabs to get promoted and the final one was to be decided in the play off, Cambridge, Carlisle, Northampton and Bristol Rovers were up for the challenge, it was Bristol Rovers and Cambridge who made their chances count and faced each other in the final. It was a very close game in which Bristol Rovers just managed to edge out their opponents.

Play Off Final : Cambridge 0 : 1 Bristol Rovers

At the other end of the table it would be two teams that would face the the drop into the Conference, the relegation places were already confirmed before the season ended, it wasnt good news for Port Vale as they also went into receivership, joining them next season is Scunthorpe.

Golden Boot

It was an exciting finish to the Golden Boot which ended up going three ways as Stevenage striker Humphreys, Woking's Ferguson and Swansea's Harris all scored 24 goals each and making it a joint first place.

Assists

Plenty of goals were created and it saw Corbett of Bristol Rovers top the assists rankings after making 23 assists, he closely followed by Stevenage ace Jorge Campos who made 21 assists, way behind in third place was Kitson of Cambridge with 16 assists.

Average Ratings

Every league has its outstanding players and it was Swansea striker Harris that put in some sensational performances, also performing at the top of their game were Stevenage winger Huckerby and also Jim Corbett of Bristol Rovers.

Nationwide Conference

It was to be another season in the Conference for manager Gareth Jenkinson who tries to improve his Accrington side and will be hoping to get a play off place if he can.....

It was Burton Albion who took the iniative this season and went on to take the only automatic promotion place available and crowning themselves champions of the conference, they were followed by some very strong sides who would fight for that second promotion spot via the play offs, Halifax, Dag & Red, Farnborough and Shrewsbury were to battle it out. It was Halifax against Dag & Red who progressed to the final, it was a very close game which was won in extra time by Halifax who now rejoin the Third Division.

Play Off Final : Halifax 2 : 1 Dag & Red

Accrington were not too far from getting into the play offs themselves but with manager Gaz Jenkinson not being available most of the season, they ended up with some pretty poor performances without him. But when he was in charge, they certainly looked liked play off contenders, maybe next season. Exiting the Football league where recently Third division side Darlington along with Exeter and Northwich Victoria.

Golden Boot

The Goal King of the Conference this season was none other than Dag & Red striker Mark Bentley who knocked in 30 goals, Neil Somerville (Farnborough) came a close second with 28 goals and joint second place was Daniel Carey-Bertram of Hereford who also notched up 28 goals.

Assists

It was 21 assists which made Burton Albion's Webster take the crown of the most assists, he was followed by Carrington of Gravesend with 16 and not too far behind in third was Critchley of Dag & ref with 14 assists.

Average Ratings

As far as average performances go it was none other than Mark Bentely from Dag & Red who stood out from the rest, he was followed by Burton Albion's Anderson and Farnborough's Neil Somerville.

Community Shield

It was the season opener, the first trophy up for grabs. Bradford City take on giants Man Utd in an packed Millenium Stadium

It was a very one sided game which went Man Utd's way, the scoreline most probably very predictable and goals from the usual suspects rounded up Utd's first Silverware of the season.

Full Time : Bradford 0 : 4 Man Utd

League Cup

Maybe not the most glamorous cup in the English game but still there was a Uefa Cup place at stake, it saw both newly Premiership promoted sides in the final, thats right WBA and also Paul Rouch's Hammers were to fight for that european qualification.

It was an action packed final which saw plenty of goals, West Ham took the lead twice over WBA but with only four minutes to go it was West Brom who took charge by scoring what ended up being the winner, very unlucky for The Hammers.

Full Time : WBA 3 : 2 West Ham

FA Cup

The Magical Cup that is the FA Cup, there was no sign of last seasons winners Bradford in the final though, this time round it was League Cup winners WBA taking on Premiership Champions Arsenal.

Its been an amazing season for West Brom and they capped it off by doing a Cup Double, it was a one team affair in the final which all went West Brom's way, they took their chances very well and thrashed The Gunners.

Full Time : WBA 3 : 0 Arsenal

Vans Trophy

Having progressed through their Regional Finals it was time to battle it out on the big stage at the Millenium stadium, this year its Hull against Colchester.

It was a very close final indeed and after Hull scored, Colchester equalised quite quickly and the game went into extra time where Hull made the best of their chances and finished the game off with a silver goal.

Full Time : Hull 2 : 1 Colchester

FA Trophy

Both teams did well to get into the final considering their league form wasnt the best around, however this season see's Accrington Stanley take on Nuneaton Borough in the Final

Acrrington quite clearly where the better team in the final and they showed as Dean Calcutt was the clear difference between the sides as he scored both goals for Stanley and giving manager Gaz Jenkinson his first piece of Silverware.

Full Time : Accrington Stanley 2 : 0 Nuneaton Borough

Champions League

You wouldnt believe it but it was an english team making it all the way into the Champions League final......no it wasnt one of the big three, it was Tottenham of all teams. They take on Italian Giants Inter Milan in the final.

It was of course Inter who brushed aside Spurs with an easy win in which Recoba scored a goal in each half to settle the tie.

Full Time : Tottenham 0 : 2 Inter Milan

Uefa Cup

This season's Uefa Cup final saw another english team reach the final and try and aim for glory, it was the multi millionaires Chelsea who go to take on Ukraine's finest Dinamo Kiev.

Kiev were the side who took charge and showed that money isnt everything you need to win a game of football, a goal from Gusev settled the tightly fought final.

Full Time : Dinamo Kiev 1 : 0 Chelsea

Super Cup

It was Italian Giants AC Milan taking on French side Sochaux in the Super Cup final, Milan certainly played like the name of the cup, an absolutely super performance and they gave the French side no chance at all.

Full Time : AC Milan 2 : 0 Sochaux

Head to Head

Every season we get to see some exciting head to head games, EFB Managers get to battle it out between each other to see who's got the better side.

Its time for Posh to take on the Tigers, Edan vs Andy.

This was the only encounter between these two managers this season and it was a cracker, Posh went two up by half time only for Hull to go on a 8minute scoring spree and win the match.

Full Time : Peterborough 2 : 3 Hull City

Its QPR vs Leicester, Mark vs Kris, The top two in the First Division.

It was QPR who dominated this game and certainly looked to be taking all three points, especially when they took the lead, but Leicester got stuck in and made the best of their chances to steal away the points from under their noses.

Full Time : QPR 1 : 2 Leicester City

Manager Profiles Season 2

Well what are the scores on the board, each manager has had their own share of success this season and rightly so, well their performances of season two are below.

QPR : Mark Brown aka mebubcat

Leicester : Kris Koprivnik aka If you dont like me your sister will!!
