After winning the league it won't be seen as a bad thing by the vast majority of fans. If however a similar situation to last year arises later this season (where we were out of both domestic cups and 10 or so points behind Rangers in February) he'll be under pressure again. Roman Bednar
The Paddy McCourt guy we were gonna sign was told by Mowbray when he come over he's not good enough for the 1st team and will be in the reserves which then makes me wonder why if he's not good enough for us at 24 he'd be going to you lot
Stephen Wilson
He's probably a McCart spot, Motherwell wanted him aswell at one point. I'd rather we signed him for £100k than Lafferty for £3m so even if he's rubbish it's a good movie imo.
Stan petrov
sounds a good signing, he wont be first choice as we have wide players already capable, so its low risk. Even if you get a magnificent Bobbby Petta season out of him before he goes, that'll do

Sned
It's truly signings like that of McCourt that make me despair at the current awfulness of Pro Evo. Used to love nothing more than creating a player who wasn't on the game for my Celtic team. Someone with the gruff facial hair of McCourt, alligned with my wildly exaggerated interpretation of his dribbling ability, would have no doubt excited me. FrankJJ
Strong rumours in Glasgow tonight of McFadden arriving over the weekend, with Bobo and Deek heading in the opposite direction. I would be happy if we pay maybe £2m but no more than that for him.

deerokus
McCourt looks like someone you'd find propping up the bar in Heraghty's. I really want him to be a huge cult hero McFadden is a bit overrated, depending on how much he cost it might be ok.

McFadden in, Bobo & Deeks out would be an excellent deal.
deerokus
if it was a straight swap for them it would be! but we'll have to pay several million on top.

fbc_89
The Magpies boss will also fight it out with rivals Sunderland for the £10m transfer of Celtic's Aiden McGeady. (News of the World) Not going to happen but I'd prefer Keane to keep on taking our rubbish reserve players rather than going for the likes of McGeady. The Sunday Mail is reporting that we were preparing a £5.5m + Bobo offer for McFadden, for that sort of money I'd rather spend over £6m on Pavluychenko tbh. Though again neither of those situations will realistically happen.
Stephen Wilson
Pavlyuchenko will take nearly double that £6m now sadly.
Stan petrov
Boulharouz has been linked, and I would be veryhappy with that, he's been solid as fcuk for Holland in the euros and is a player of obvious quality. Austrian chap Stranzl also linked for 4 million. Still no sign of a left-back
Kev2411
McCourt has unbelieveable close control and makes defenders commit themselves before just strolling past them easily but he has no end product Many times you'll see him walk past people to the end line before rolling it into the keepers hands. Such a frustrating player
SI Staff Ter Posted June 22, 2008 SI Staff Share Posted June 22, 2008 Many times you'll see him walk past people to the end line before rolling it into the keepers hands. Mr Nice
McFadden would be a steal for 2-3M, but not for the price quoted. I sense some Willie McKay shenanigans anyway. Stranzl i'd be happy with, equally Boulharouz, but like stan said, LB still a far more pressing problem imo. Good luck to McCourt, would still rather see what Mizuno has to offer us first though. He's looked good in the reserves.

HOORAY HENRIK
I see we are being linked with Lewandowski. Surely we must have a decent amount of money to spend, I dont think we would be continually linked with £3m/£4m/£5m players.

bermybhoy
Naka to Bologna? I have a feeling the club might just decide to cash in. He's 30 and in the last year of his contract, arguably if we get 4-5m for him it's decent business.

A Celtic spokesman said: “We’ve never heard of the representative who has claimed Bologna has made an offer for Shunsuke Nakamura. “We have not received any offer from Bologna or from any other club. In any case Naka is delighted to be staying with Celtic and that is what he will be doing.†
