Guest Posted May 31, 2002 Share Posted May 31, 2002 Today was a great session for Sheffield Wednesday, we have bounced back from a demoralising defeat to Fulham, and are now sitting in 11th place having taken over with them in 17th place. The intertoto cup is firmly in my sights at the moment, and we are still in the semi-final of the league cup despite being down 3-1 to Fulham after the first away leg But this Nuno Santos is extremely cocky and I must bring him back down to earth Money is still short and I have had to make cheap signings to stop the threat of relegation.With this objective acieved anything is possible at Sheffield Cheers Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted May 31, 2002 Share Posted May 31, 2002 I'm very happy with the direction our clan is heading now. We just finished a four hour session, and there was a very cool environment around the game. My Fulham team keeps on fighting for a spot in Champions League, HL7's West Ham is keeping on playing their boredom role with 8th position and the newbies Whitehart ( Sheff Wed ) and Kev ( W.B.A. ) seem to be safe from relegation, I can't say they're not doing a good job. On Division 1, The Toffeeman ( Everton ) continues his crappy carreer. C'mon Alex, you know better than that... Samster ( Man City ) was on holiday this session and although we miss his hmmmm's and yoyoyo's , I think he'd better keep on holiday because it looks like that way he'll get promoted. I'll post an extensive update about my Fulham team tomorrow, for now I'll just post the league tables : <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> ************************************************************************************************ English Premier Division - Sunday 9th February 2003 ************************************************************************************************ ================================================================================================ 2002/3 Table ================================================================================================ Pos Team Pld Won Drn Lst For Ag Won Drn Lst For Ag Pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Man Utd 27 12 1 0 36 7 9 3 2 28 14 67 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2nd Leeds 27 11 2 0 27 5 7 5 2 21 14 61 3rd Arsenal 27 9 4 1 26 12 8 2 3 23 14 57 4th Fulham 26 9 1 3 37 15 7 1 5 24 20 50 5th Liverpool 27 9 2 1 18 3 5 5 5 32 23 49 6th Chelsea 26 9 4 0 24 11 4 3 6 14 19 46 7th Blackburn 27 7 4 3 27 17 4 3 6 15 17 40 8th West Ham 27 7 3 4 23 18 4 4 5 18 16 40 9th Southampton 27 9 0 4 25 17 3 3 8 15 24 39 10th Newcastle 27 5 4 4 23 20 5 3 6 20 22 37 11th Sheff Wed 27 7 0 6 19 14 3 3 8 17 29 33 12th W.B.A. 27 7 2 6 26 19 2 3 7 14 23 32 13th Tottenham 27 4 3 6 19 28 4 5 5 21 24 32 14th Middlesbrough 27 6 3 5 24 20 3 1 9 19 32 31 15th Ipswich 27 4 6 4 24 20 3 3 7 13 20 30 16th Charlton 27 4 3 6 17 18 4 2 8 13 25 29 17th Sunderland 27 4 5 5 20 23 2 1 10 9 29 24 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18th Aston Villa 27 4 3 6 21 29 2 2 10 14 36 23 19th Watford 27 2 2 10 13 32 3 1 9 18 32 18 20th Bolton 27 3 3 8 18 27 0 2 11 7 34 14 </pre> <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> ************************************************************************************************ English First Division - Sunday 9th February 2003 ************************************************************************************************ ================================================================================================ 2002/3 Table ================================================================================================ Pos Team Pld Won Drn Lst For Ag Won Drn Lst For Ag Pts -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1st Walsall 31 13 2 1 36 12 7 2 6 23 21 64 2nd Leicester 31 11 3 1 31 9 6 7 3 22 15 61 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3rd Wolves 31 11 3 2 40 14 6 6 3 22 20 60 4th Crystal Palace 31 10 4 1 28 11 4 8 4 23 25 54 5th Wimbledon 31 12 1 3 42 21 4 4 7 10 19 53 6th Derby 31 9 4 2 28 13 5 5 6 26 25 51 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 7th Coventry 31 12 2 2 33 14 2 5 8 17 33 49 8th Nottm Forest 31 12 2 2 32 15 3 2 10 13 27 49 9th Man City 31 7 7 2 41 28 5 2 8 36 46 45 10th Millwall 31 8 5 1 34 21 3 6 8 19 28 44 11th Barnsley 31 7 7 1 22 12 4 4 8 16 23 44 12th Bradford 31 7 4 5 17 15 5 3 7 18 19 43 13th Birmingham 31 10 3 3 20 14 3 1 11 23 40 43 14th Crewe 31 9 2 5 33 27 3 3 9 23 33 41 15th Wycombe 31 6 7 3 25 18 4 4 7 18 29 41 16th Gillingham 31 9 2 4 26 20 2 4 10 17 28 39 17th Stockport 31 6 4 5 21 19 4 4 8 18 29 38 18th Grimsby 31 7 6 4 29 19 1 5 8 16 26 35 19th Everton 31 8 3 5 27 17 2 2 11 15 34 35[/b 20th Norwich 31 4 6 5 25 28 4 2 10 13 28 32 21st Preston 31 5 6 4 27 22 2 2 12 16 43 29 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 22nd Q.P.R. 31 6 4 5 29 25 1 3 12 11 34 28 23rd Portsmouth 31 6 1 8 26 30 1 3 12 18 38 25 24th Notts Co 31 5 2 8 27 28 1 3 12 19 36 23 </pre> Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

TheToffeeman Posted June 1, 2002 Share Posted June 1, 2002 <<<<<Everton FC Update>>>>> We had 3 trialists this session who worked very hard to prove that their are worth joining our clan . One of them was successful - John Burbidge (aka Whitehart) . Keep up the good work, now you are one of us!!! I'm sick and tired of waiting the money I need to buy decent players for my team . My budget is - 20M in red - and there is no sign of improving this situation . Current squad of players doesn't perform the way I would have liked . Now when I approach 1/4 of the season I'm starting to renew my squad, there are lots of players (big earners) put up for the sale. Another bad news is that the Health and Safety inspector has closed some of the stands resulting in the reduce of the capacity of my stadium just to 24000, which means that I'll have less money for gate receiption . I started this session with the home match vs Leicester without any hope. I've tried already lots of tactics and neither has worked for me so far. It was a sorry sight, we had just 1-2 attempts on goal. Final Result - 0:1 Then was an easy and in the same time unexpected win against Norwich. I used some reserve and transfer-listed players and... they did very well. Transfer-listed Moore scored the first goal, then a young hot prospect - Ferrante (signed from West Ham) added other 2 goals and Stuart closed the scoreline. Final Result - 4:0 Barnsley (away), another mid-table team, and there were no sign of hope that we can clinch at least a point. Another dismal performance . Final Result - 0:3 We went to Leicester for the 3rd round FA Cup with just one wish not to be annihilated. And to my surprise we made draw thanks to the only goal from Murray (one of my best performers so far). Final Result - 1:1 We had much possesion on the ball in our home clash vs Gillingham but didn't manage to score at least one goal, for God's sake we didn't concede it as well . Final Result - 0:0 FA Cup 3rd round replay came just in time when lots of my first team players were not fit and again I put a mixed squad of players on the pitch. Alexandersson gave us a hope scoring an early goal but as always we couldn't keep up the much needed result and the winner was decided on penalties which I successfully lost . Final Result - 1:1 (2:3 on pen) In the last 3 matches we won just 1 and lost 2 which left us sitting in the 19th position. The only way out of this bad situation is to start creating a new team around young players, which I already started to do. Guest Posted June 1, 2002 Share Posted June 1, 2002 W.B.A update First thing fist was to say thanx for the trail for this excellent and exciting clan i joined W.B.A and the first thing i did as manager was asked the Chairman how much money there was and he replied 12 million then my eyes could have lit up a room Fixtures <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> ================================================================================================ 2002/3 Fixtures ================================================================================================ Date Opposition Ven Competition Res Attend Scorers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 26.12.02 Aston Villa H Premier Division 4:0 25285 Diego Alonso 2, Roberts 2 (1 pen) 28.12.02 Fulham A Premier Division 3:2 18961 Jordão, Roberts, Diego Alonso 1.1.03 Charlton H Premier Division 3:0 23134 J.Roberts pen, R.Williams, Cooper 4.1.03 Fulham A FA Cup 3rd Rnd 1:5 7289 Roberts 11.1.03 Sheff Wed A Premier Division 1:2 37581 Roberts 18.1.03 Arsenal H Premier Division 0:1 25290 3.2.03 Sunderland A Premier Division 1:2 44677 R.Williams 5.2.03 Middlesbrough H Premier Division 2:3 25295 Tiko, Jordão 9.2.03 Bolton H Premier Division 2:1 25263 Diego Alonso 2 </pre> I started off with the derby against Aston Villa and I always knew that it was going to be tough and I was looking towards recent signing Diego Alonso to provide the goals. As it proved I was to strong for a Villa side that looks set for division 1 My second game in charge of the West Brom team was against Fulham (nuno) away and I straight away thought that I was going to lose. To my delight I was 1-0 up then Fulham equalised and I though here we go but to my delight we scored the next 2 goals and start to lift on the pedal but then the tactical changes which Nuno made were to much. Firstly he got a goal back then the pressure just kept coming and I am sure my defence and keeper were about to buckle when the final whistle went which was to my relief I then took at look at my fixture list and notice I would have to face him away again in the FA cup 3 rnd after the tricky tie at home to Charlton. We seem to cruise through the game with no worries and eventually took the game 3-0 which was a delight to the manager Then it was to the day which I just want to forget about and I can't believe I got beat by 5-1 I was totally out classed and he just had the measure over my tactic plus everything he hit on the day went in the back of the net I didn't know how much that result was going to effect my players who I think went on holiday and left cardboard cut outs for me to use on the pitch. I went to Sheff Wed thinking I was going to win I was playing well the score was 0-0 then McInnes got himself sent off and Sheff Wed instantly scored I to my surprise managed to make the score 1-1 but as soon as my jaw hit the table Sheff Wed nicked the game with a cheeky goal and I was n my way to a 2nd defeat in a row. Next up were Arsenal and I immediately looked to who I had after that as I knew I wasn't going to get anything from this game. As the match went on I managed to keep the scoreline to 0-0 but the strange this was is that I was out shotting Arsenal but the jammy gits managed to get a 80th minute goal to seal a undeserved win I then went to the nearly manager less Sunderland who had been spending big in the week before the game. Sunderland played well and I played crap managed to get a lucky goal. Sunderland easily won the game 2-1 and I was once again thinking about the first division The next look at the fixture list saw that Middlesbrough were visiting the Hawthorns. I had a quick look at the league table and it told me that Middlesbrough were below me which instantly made me feel I had a chance against the champions. There was 1 big plus from this game and that was that I finally managed to score more than 1 goal and that my performance was good enough to win a game. I was 2-0 up but let it slip with 2 quick Boro goals before half time They added a third just after half time and I never looked like I was going to score so they were always going to take the Victory after that. I knew the trip to bottom of the league Bolton was going to be the last of this session and I knew that I was going to have to win if I was going to take any hope going into the next session. It proved to be a edgy game for me and I eventually won the game 2-1 to give me some hope of keeping my premiership Status next season I look forward to next session when I should reach that much needed 40 point mark My top players <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> Player Played Scored Assisted MOM Average rating Diego Alonso 8(1) 5 2 1 8.33 Jason Roberts 30 9 3 2 7.33 Stilian Petrov 4 0 1 0 7.75 </pre> As you can see Alonso is my best player so far but Petrov is going to be a star once he get settled into the team he will start winning games for me when he get familiarised with his team mates. I look forward to the next session on monday when i will hopefully steer clear of relegation and secure a mid table finish Kev Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

HL7 Posted June 1, 2002 Share Posted June 1, 2002 To be strictly honest, I really wasn't in the mood for CM yesterday for many reasons, so this may have clouded my judgement somewhat. However, as the session went on, the more immersed I got and I was actually getting out of my bad mood before I had to leave a little prematurely The West Ham boys fought hard, but we went on a bad losing streak of around 3 or 4 games, however, a swift change of tactics (a 4-4-2 Diamond that gave me a 64 game unbeaten run with Celtic ) and my team started to perform a little better. We were fighting for every ball, creating spaces, and most importantly, my wingers, Petta and Ortega were picking up the ball from deep and beginning to run at defenders, which will be a very dangerous weapon I was delighted in one of my matches to come back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2, with my team equalising right at the death, true fighting spirit I am really beginning to regret the sale of Joe Cole, he would make my midfield complete, because i'm just not confident in Muzzy Izzet, he isn't the prolific player I need, and next year, I plan to lure Louis Saha from Fulham, don't know how Nuno will feel about this though The sale of Kanouté has also hurt our chances of success, and I muist admit, I am worried if my team can take the last 11 games of the season by the scruff of the neck and push for a Champions League spot. It was also nice to see one of my youth players really blossoming as a player, Stephen Bywater has been immense between the sticks this year, and I can safely say that he will do for us what Schmeichel did for Man U. However, I really wopuld like to get this season finished and prepare for next year, which really is going to be our year, Defoe will be coming of age, as will a few other youths like Soma and Iriekpen. Hopefully I can sign a decent AMC to replace Izzet, and get a new RB and that'll be me sorted. BTW, welcome aboard Whitehart Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Posted June 2, 2002 Share Posted June 2, 2002 FULHAM UPDATE (better late than never) This session was so great for my Fulham team. It seems now that my players finally realized what their manager wants from them. We played ten games in this session, having attained 8 wins and only 2 losses. Arsenal 1 v Fulham 2 ( Henry 10' ; Aguinaga 66', Tomasson 74' ) Fulham 2 v W.B.A. 3 ( Redknapp 6', Rommedahl 86' ; Jordão 13', Roberts 23', Alonso 45' ) Middlesbrough 1 v Fulham 5 (Viduka 57'; Said 3', Aguinaga 22', Saha 36', Rommedahl 54', Tomasson 66') Fulham 5 v W.B.A. 1 ( Fa Cup 3rd Rnd ) ( Saha 13' 38', Mendonça 34' 90', Redknapp 54' ; Roberts 58' ) Fulham 4 v Sunderland 1 ( Saha 9'30'(pen), Rommedahl 33, Tomasson 82'; Bellion 48' ) Blackburn 1 v Fulham 2 ( Berg 5' ; Marlet 74' Saha 83' ) Fulham 2 v Wimbledon 0 ( Fa Cup 4rd Rnd ) ( Canniggia 19'44' ) Fulham 3 v Sheff Wed 1 ( League Cup Semi leg 1 ) ( Blanc 21', Tomasson 60'76'; T. Johnson 11' ) Fulham 4 v Bolton 0 ( Saha 4'42'47',Winter 35') Watford 4 v Fulham 3 ( Nielsen 29'Vega 38'(pen),Joyce 77'84' ; Winter 16' Legwinski 45' Said 61' ) THE LEAGUE A 2-1 win at Highbury Park proved me that now Fulham could hammer any team at any stadium. Next one was against Kev’s team. To be honest, I expected an easier match, but a peculiar tactic that Kev used against me left me with no idea of what I could do, as I was being completely outplayed on 1st half. On 2nd half, I finally managed to discover the best way to annihilate his tactic , but that was too late. A note to my recent signing, Rommedahl, who scored on his debut. Next one was at the Riverside Stadium where we would meet the champs Middlesbrough. Oh dear, what a extraordinary game for my players and a 5-1 mortification that my friend Jone would like to see, hehe . Following this great match, we managed to attain three straight victories vs. Sunderland, Blackburn and Bolton just to end the session with an unpredicted defeat to Watford in a tremendous match where we had the lead 1-0 and 3-2 and ended up losing 3-4 . Now that Man Utd seem to be on their way to win the title, I'm looking for a place in the next Champions League, though I know it won't be easy, but anyway if I finish on the top 5 I'll be happy, firstly because I'll be in Europe next season and secondly because I'll have my first manager points . THE FA CUP Fulham is now on the 5th round where will play don't remember who , after fleeting the previous rounds with style and ease. In 3rd round, we trashed Kev's W.B.A. 5-1 and the boy was right when he said that the game he beat me in the league it was a pure accident . In 5th round we got rid of Wimbledon playing mostly with fringe players. The old ******* Canniggia scored both goals, proving his manager that he should play more often in the first team. Keep on dreaming, you ***** THE LEAGUE CUP Here we are in the semi final a short step away from the final. First leg was at the Craven Cottage against John's Sheffield Wednesday. Tommy Johnson scored first for them, but we put things back into normal when Laurent Blanc and Jon Dahl Tomasson ( 2x ) banged them in to a secure victory. I'm looking forward now to second leg, where I expect not just qualify to the final but also accomplish a victory at their own stadium . Guest Posted June 3, 2002 Share Posted June 3, 2002 Another great session as the Sheffield Wednesday revival continues.We are now almost certain of premiership survival and are even fighting for and inter-toto Cup place in the league. The best result of the night came in the return leg of my semi final match against Fulham(nuno) at home.We were 3-1 down after the first leg but a great performance secure a 4-1 win and a place in the league cup final where europe beckons for Sheffield.We play Southampton in the final. Nuno was taught a real footballing lesson tonight and will learn in future not to mess with the whitehart See you all Wednesday Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted June 3, 2002 Share Posted June 3, 2002 My second session in this great Group Right ny W.B.A team were sitting happily in mid table and i had just pulled them out of the bad spell we were in. Fixtures & Results <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> ================================================================================================ 2002/3 Fixtures ================================================================================================ Date Opposition Ven Competition Res Attend Scorers ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 9.2.03 Bolton H Premier Division 2:1 25263 Diego Alonso 2 24.2.03 Blackburn A Premier Division 1:0 29460 Thorpe 1.3.03 Leeds A Premier Division 0:1 40034 17.3.03 Watford A Premier Division 2:2 23101 Diego Alonso, Roberts 29.3.03 Ipswich H Premier Division --- ----- 7.4.03 Tottenham A Premier Division --- ----- 12.4.03 Chelsea H Premier Division --- ----- 16.4.03 West Ham A Premier Division --- ----- 19.4.03 Newcastle H Premier Division --- ----- 26.4.03 Southampton A Premier Division --- ----- 3.5.03 Liverpool H Premier Division --- ----- 18.5.03 Man Utd A Premier Division --- ----- </pre> As you can see we didn't get many games played in this session due to a crash and just my fixtures were very spread out First up was a Visit of Bolton who look like there going to join Alex (Everton) in the first Division I outplayed them for 90mins and was up 2-0 until they grabbed a goal which was totally unexpected. Next up was an away trip to Blackburn and the chance to show what we were capable of. We totally dominated the game from start to finish and we should have won the game 3-0 or 4-0 but 1 goals was enough. As the match wore on though all I was thinking of were all the missed chances and was I going to get beat or draw when I should of easily won. Next up was another away trip this time Elland road was the venue and we were going there on a high after winning away to Blackburn. We started the game strongly and it was a very even contest with the teams going in at half time 0-0. I was strongly thinking that I was going to get a draw from this game when Leeds grabbed a goal in the 80th min to steal a win when I though a draw would have been a fair result. The next game was to be the last in my road trip and I want a maximum amount of points. The game was tense we took the lead but immediately the annoying Watford team equalised and it was 1-1. We went into a 2-1 lead but yet again Watford came back and got the score to 2-2 from then on it was constant pressure from West Brom with chance after chance going begging. Overall I think it has been a good session for me results wise and now that I am safe I can play with no pressure and maybe pull off a surprise result against a few of the big guns I have left to play. Star Players <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre"> Player Played Scored Assisted MOM Average rating Diego Alonso 10(1) 6 2 1 8.09 Stilian Petkov 7 0 3 1 8.14 Jason Roberts 33 10 3 3 7.39 </pre> As you can see Alonso is still my no 1 player and will probably remain that way for the rest of the season Stilian Petkov is still getting better and better i look forward to the big games coming up as it will show me how my players are in the big games. Well i look forward to playing again wednesday Cheers Kev Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
HL7 Posted June 4, 2002 Share Posted June 4, 2002 I hope this crash didn't affect any of my results I played against most of the new clan members last session, and I came out of it unbeaten. We played Charlton and drew 0-0, beat Sunderland 3-0 and i played someone else as well (sorry, my memory is a bit fecked ) I also played my adopted rival Nuno, and stuck 4 past him in a 4-3 win. Mpenza struck a hat-trick, and Dabizas scored the other, somehow I let Claudio Caniggia score against me....TWICE! It was an interesting session, and if all goes to plan, i'll get a UEFA place and challenge for the league next season. The rebuilding stage has just ended for West Ham, we're ready to challenge Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
Guest Posted June 4, 2002 Share Posted June 4, 2002 My first session saw me take charge of charlton. after 3 games i've had a 4-2 loss to chelsea despite leading twice, a 0-0 draw with west ham (managed by fellow clan member) and a 4-2 victory over newcastle, Once i get my tv money at the end of the season and clear my debt, i will hopefully be able to sign a player of some kind of class, and sell some of my worthless rejects. Also i missed out on roman vasilyuk WhiteFART managed to get him because i couldnt offer him a signing on fee I'll get my revenge tho when i play him Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
