BillyBoi
Bojan has been released from Barcelona after the first season but picked up an injury which will last for 3-5 months. As you would expect, loads of clubs were interested in getting him on the cheap, including me. So eventually after i offered a good contract and him accepting, i get a message in my inbox saying he failed a medical and the contract was canceled. After, only one or two teams were interested in him, but i dont want to lose out on buying him. So should i just keep offering the best contracts (so he will accept) knowing he will just get rejected in the medical. Or is it safe to wait while he recovers from the injury knowing a club cant sign him before he recovers?
Clark123
Wait until he recovers. If he cant sign for you he cant sign for anyone else.
BillyBoi
So even when theres like a couple weeks/days left for him to recover i still cant sign him?
VonBlade
Depends on the injury. Things like broken legs need to be healed. Colds don't.
BillyBoi
Ok, thanks for the help guys!
Puluzu
It's crazy. Any club big enough where Bojan would go to would sign him for free even if he was out for a year. Lazy programming imo.
CrashOverride
I dont think that some clubs would take the risk of siging a player who was injuered for over 4 months. Its unfair to call it lazy programming unless you can back it up with solid facts of occasions when clubs have signed a player currently out injured. I cant personally recall any club doing it recently.
hullcitytigers
Offer the contract when there is only a day or two until his injury is healed, that way he should be able to sign immediately after he recovers.
CaptainPlanet
You can't sign them if they can't pass a medical because you can't get them insured. It's true to real life.

Middlesbrough did this with Roberth Huth after he'd failed a medical after breaking his ankle.

TheKingKopite
I couldn't sign Owen at the start of the season because he was injured .. but I offered a new contract when it said he be back withing 2 weeks and it passed.
Crpls
You can usually sign a player when the injury icon is orange, rather than red.
JimbobWWFC
Can you offer him a contract, but set the date of im joining until later, like the end of the season? I know you can arrange this when using normal transfers, but I'm not sure about unattached players
Micado
Normally if the player is getting match fit (orange inj icon) or about a month to go on his injurie you can sing him.
BillyBoi
Cool, thanks for the input guys. I doubt this would make a difference, but ive been taking him on trial for 4 weeks (the maximum) then when that finnishes, offer him another trial till he gets gets fit so i can offer him a contract. Then if there is any wars with other clubs trying to sign him, maybe he would want to pick my team more? I'm a slow gamer and since my opening post its only been about 2 months in game time, so he still has about 2 more months till hes fit again.
lawsie
haven't read the rest of the replies but if someone mentioned that you need to wait untill the red injury icon turns to orange then they were right
