Brazilian Second Division end of season

We know just have one team left in this division, the pirates, and they were looking to follow two of our other sides by getting promoted this year. It was not to be however as they had a fairly boring season. Never looking like getting promoted and also never looking like getting relegated they finished in 12th place.

Wow what a truly awful season, missed the fact that we were the only team in the division after being fooled by our success in the State Championship.

Not having a single player with an average rating of 7 is woeful, especially with the highest rating coming from a DMC. A large squad though, which possibly means the manager has gone for quantity over quality.

Can't believe Vitoria got promoted despite having their team ripped apart from the beginning of the season, they must have had an unbelievable squad.

A poor season considering the success in the State Champs, was hoping for more tbh.

At least you didn't join Southend United (BRA) in the third division as with the amount of teams in there it looks very hard to get out of

Brazilian First Division End of Season

So we had two sides competing for the first time in this division. Euroville had a fairly sucssesful season managing to secure their safety and finish 13th in the league. It was not such a good first season however for Irlande Du Nord who finished a very poor 18th place which means that they are relegated back to the second division.

Very pleased that Euroville managed to stay in the first division. We made some very good signings and Lucio Flavio was key to the team. Nice that wedid the duble over Irlade du Nord, but it is a shame they went down, would have been nice to get a guaranteed six points next season :p

Columbian End Of Season Update

Second Phase - First Division

Linga Linga were hoping to improve on their good First Phase and qualify for the groups. It was not to be however as they finished 10th 3 points off the the groups. Still it must be considered a good first season for Linga Linga who finished 12th in the overall table the highest placed of all the teams who failed to qualify for the groups.

Second Phase - Second Division

Santa Gilb and FC Ice came first and second respectively in the league table as they looked to win the second phase and so have a shot at promotion. We're lost were not so lucky though as they finished in 11th place and so missed out on qualifying for the groups. With both our remaining sides in seperate groups their was a chance of a dream final it proved to be the case as Santa Gilb topped group A and FC Ice also topped group B but only just as they had to rely on Goal Difference. In the final Santa Gilb managed to claim a cruicial advantage as they won 1-0 in the first leg. The second leg also proved advantageous to Santa Gilb as they won 2-0 over FC Ice and so gave themselves a shot at promotion in the PlayOff.

Playoff - Second Division

A 2-2 draw in the first leg away from home meant Santa Gilb had an advantage over First Phase winners Bucaramanga. In a tight second leg they managed to gain themselves a 1-0 win and so Santa Gilb were promoted.

Linga Linga were very dissapointing and only managed 5th place in group B. The other 3 of our sides were all in group E meaning that at least one side would drop out. However it ended up that two sides dropped out as FC Ice finished in fourth and WE're Lost were in 6th and last place. Santa Gilb however managed to come second and so qualify for the next round. They were up against Junior and two 2-1 wins meant they were through to the third round. In the third round they were up against Meddilin and a 1-1 draw away from home put them in a promising position. They then seeled their place in the semi final with a 3-0 win at home. I the semi finals they had a tough game against Circuter and despite a 2-2 draw away from home they lost 1-0 at home and were out of the competition.

Uruguayan Second Division Opening Stage

With Essendon being relegated last year their was only four of our sides left in the division. All four of these sides will have at the start of the season be aiming for promotion. However at the end of the opening stage their is only one side who look like getting promoted as Hotshots finished the opening stage in first place. The other sides were all disapointing with San Jose being the best placed in 12th with Santa FCB just behind in 13th and Academica one place further back in 14th. Despite these low places though they are unlikely to get relegated as their is a team (Torque) who went through the entire opening stage without picking up a point.

Dear God.. How can we get so close when our strikers have a total of 82 starts but only 26 goals?? That's an average of 0.3 goals per start! Top goalscorer with 10 goals?? Not a lot of faith in my manager now, even with the near promotion. New strikers for next season, please.

Kinda funny to see that I sold two players to my rivals as well :D

Chilean End Of Season

First Division - Closing Stage

Both our teams again disapoints in the league with RHCP in 19th and Putre DFC finishing in 15th. Also this meant they both finished bottom of theirs groups (D and C respectively).

Fixtures Between Sides

Putre DFC 3 - 0 RHCP

First Division - Overall Table

What the closing stage meant for the overall table is that RHCP finish dead last and so were relegated back into the second division. Putre DFC finished 18th and so face a playoff against 3rd in the first division b

First Division B - Closing Stage

The closing stage wasnt as good for our sides as the opening stage had been with The TA only managing 5th and FCTP finishing in third.

Fixtures Between Sides

The TA 0 - 1 FCTP

FCTP 0 - 0 The TA

First Division B - Overall League and second Promotion

What this meant though was FCTP had managed to finish first overall and so claim the automatic promotion spot. The TA also had considerable sucsses finishing in second. For the second promotion the champions of the opening stage face the champions of the closing stage but as the chamions of the opening stage (FCTP) had claimed the automatic promotion it meant that the opening stage runners up (THE TA) would play in this match. In the first leg The TA drew 1-1 with Coquimbo Unido away from home. This goal was to prove cruicial as they drew the second leg 0-0 meaning they were promoted on away goals.

Playoff

Putre DFC were facing Coquimbo Unido in the playoff. The winner would have a place in the first division and the loser would have to compete in the First Division B. A 1-1 draw in the first leg left both teams with a chance of claiming it in the second leg. It was not to be for Putre DFC as they lost the second leg 1-0 meaning they were relegated to the first division B

The second 12 Months (2009)

Argentine teams

TFC - Currently top of the Argentine second division after 20 games they will be looking for promotion this season. They sacked their manager at the end of last season and replaced him with Claudio Borghi who has previously managed at two Chilean first division sides and also at Argentine first division side Independiente. He decided so change the captain and replaced Sebastian Cejas as captain and giving the armband to Manuel Barreto. Romano Del Prete remains as vice captain.

Espastica - Currently sitting in 3rd place they have had a good start to the Argentine second division. They have not made any managerial or captain changes since the clubs inception.

Arvet - They have really struggled so far in the league sitting in 17th place. They also have not made any changes at the head of their team

Barag - They have had a poor start this season and currently lie in 18th place. They sacked their manager towards the end of last season and replaced him with Ruben Dario Insua whose only previous managerial experience was at another argentine second division club Talleres. This didn’t last long as their poor start to the season saw them sack him during October of this season and replace him with Carlos Ramaciotti who has previously managed 9 different clubs. None of these managers have seen fit to change the Captain or Vice Captain

Brazilian Teams

Southend United (BRA) - They had a mixed bag this season retaining their state championship but not gaining promotion back to the second division. Their have been no managerial or captaincy changes.

Pirates - The pirates have had a average season with the highlight being winning the state championship, but an average league campaign saw manager Evaristo de Macedo at the end of the season and he was replaced with Jorginho who has managed one non league side in brazil but is also the Brazilian national team assistant manager so is dividing his time between club and country

Euroville - They had a good season surviving in their first season in the brazilian first division. Despite this they had several managerial changes replacing Renato Gaucho early in the season and instating Ernesto Paulo as the clubs new manager. His only previous job had been as a youth coach at the club. He got sacked in September and Paulo Bonamigo became manager for the rest of the season. He was a very experienced manager who had just been sacked from one of our other teams Irlande Du Nord.

Irlande du Nord - They had a mixed bag this season winning their state championship but getting relegated from the Brazilian First Division. They sacked their manager Paulo Bonamigo in August and hired Caio Junior who is very experienced and has managed at 9 different clubs.

Chilean Teams

FCTP - They had a good season gaining promotion as champions. This was despite manager Ubaldo Matildo Fillol leaving to become manager at argentine premier division side Estudiantes early in the season. He was replaced by Assistant Manager Daniel Bertoni who has had no other job.

The TA - The TA had a good season gaining promotion to the first division. Their vice Captain was released on a free transfer so they replaced him with Herman Gil.

RHCP - They had a disappointing season In the first division and were relegated. They sacked Eduardo Bonvallet very early in the season and replaced him with Eduardo Solari who’s only previous job was as their assistant manager. He was sacked towards the end of the season and hired Fernando Carvallo who has managed at two Chilean first division sides.

Putre DFC - They had a terrible season and were relegated. They sacked their manager early in the season and replaced him with Jorge Garces who was very experienced and had even been manager of the Chilean national side. He was sacked in August though and was replaced with Julio Escobar who’s only previous job had been as their first team coach. When they were relegated at the end of the season and he was sacked. They then hired Eduardo Bonvallet who was recently manager at rivals RHCP.

Columbian Sides

We’re Lost - A disappointing season saw them remain in the lower mid-table. They sacked their manager half way through the season Daniel Juan Silguero as caretaker and he impressed so much they gave him the job on a full time basis. His only previous job was as a youth coach at the club

Linga Linga - They had a good season consolidating their place in the first division. This was evidently not good enough for the board though as they sacked the manager and replaced him with Herman Pacheco who’s only previous job was as the clubs First Team Coach

FC Ice - They had a good season and only narrowly missed out on promotion. They sacked their manager midway through the season replacing him with Orlando de Jesus Restrepo who’s only previous job was as a Youth Coach at the club.

Santa Gilb - A brilliant season for Santa Gilb saw them finish top of the overall division and get promoted as champions. As their Captain left the club, they promoted vice captain Diego Gomez to captain and gave the vice captain role to Sherman Cardenas

Uruguayan sides

Santa FCB - A disappointing opening stage has seen them finish in 13th, however so far they have stuck by their manager

Hotshots - They had a great opening stage finishing top of the league.

San Jose - A disappointing opening stage saw them finish in 12th, however the only change made has been to demote Jose Alonso from vice captain and replace him with Fabian Puppo

Academica - A disappointing opening stage has seen them finish in 14th, however so far they have stuck by their manager

Essendon - An exceptionally bad season saw them relegated out of the playable leagues. The only change made has been the replacement of Irigoitia as vice captain after he left for European side FC Twente. He was replaced by Marcelo Sosa

What there is to look forward to over the nest 12 months?

Will our first division sides progress up the leagues further?

Can Southend United (BRA), Pirates and Irlande Du Nord retain their state championship?

Will Argentina and Uruguay get their first top division representatives?

Great update Mikey, nice (well, not exactly :p) to see so many clubs gaining promotion and consolidating their positions in the upper leagues.

Hopefully this non-league coach can turn a disappointing season into a building block for a surge next year. Unless the State Championship gives us any extra reputation I'm not overly concerned by it, we should be putting everything towards the league proper.

Link to post

Have to disagree with Tomaldinho, only two teams managed to stay in the top division with relegations in the Chilean and Brazilian leagues. Hwever there was abig number of promotions as well so he future is looking good for most clubs, let's just hope not better than Eurovilles :D

Can't believe Putre went straight back down again to be replaced by the two teams who were left behind last season. Oh well a new season a new beginning and hopefully only one manager this season not 4 lol.

Great season for the two lower teams who have now become the two higher teams, hopefully next season they can stay up and the rest of us join you.

I can't believe Jose is still our captain! Luckily he is not in the Best 11, wch means he hopefull doesn't play too much!

Not many transfers, which is a bit dissappointin, hopefully the money hasn't run out...

From our squad and Best 11 I can already see we are going to survive in the First Division  Hopefully we can get a decent State Champioship performance first.

Btw, my manager lin is not working, its no biggy though.
