Guest mikeytwigge
Can You Become Club World Champion This is the sign up that will test your created clubs to the limit as we see which South American club can become club world champion. Now i know i promised you all a detailed description of how each league system works but instead of typing everything out ive decided that i will explain as we go along through the season as it is not all very clear in fm. Also before we start i must warn you that updates will come at different times for each country as every countries leagues start at different times with the first being brazil and Chile Continental Qualification rules Copa libertadores Argentina Winner of the previous seasons opening stage Winner of the previous seasons closing stage The three highest from the overall league table (excluding those already qualified) Brazil Top 4 in the league winner of the cup Chile Opening winner Closing winner Highest in the overall table Columbia Opening Winner Closing Winner Highest in the overall table Uruguay Overall Winner 1st and second in the Liguilla pre Libertadores ( is competed at the end of the season between the top 6 clubs in the league) Also the winner of last years tournament qualifies giving their league an extra place For the Copa Sudamericana it works this way: Brazil: 5th to 12th placed sides in the league If a team in those places also won the Brazilian Cup, then the 13th placed team will qualify for the Sudamericana instead. Argentina: Boca and River have guaranteed spots in the Sudamericana (I don't know if this happens in FM as well) 4 other spots available to the 4 highest placed teams in the overall league table. Chile: Top two teams in the overall league table. Colombia: 2nd placed in overall league table Winner of Colombian Cup (both provided they have not qualified for the Libertadores) Uruguay: 3rd and 4th in the Liguilla Pre-Libertadores Just like the Libertadores, the nation of the previus winner gets an extra spot in the next year. Guest mikeytwigge
Well as im sure many of you know the brazilian campaign starts off with the state championships where you compete against clubs from your state in a league system. So the day before this is due to begin lets have a look to see what are teams have managed to put together in terms of squads First up is Southend United (BRA) who are competing in the Portiguar Sate Championship http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/SouthendUnitedBRA.jpg[/url] So that is their squad which comprises mainly of loan players although there is 3 permanent signings including spending 8k on Baiano. The manager that they decided to hire was 61 year old Aderbal Lana who has been managing since 1997 taking charge of 7 different clubs all of which were brazilian Next up is Pirates who compete in the Goias Sate Championship http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/Pirates.jpg As you can see they have also gone down the route of bringing in a lot of loan signings with their only permanent signing being Rafael Sandes on a free transfer. They hired a big name manager in Cuca whos last job was at first division Fluminense 3rd on our list is Euroville who compete in the Sao Paulo State Championship http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/eurovillereserves.jpg http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/euroville.jpg At first glance it seemed that they had not strengthened well before there first game with there only being two goalkeepers in there first team squad however they have signed more players but have chosen to put them all in the reserves. The manager is leao whos last job was at Al sadd in quatar. Finally there is irlande du nord who compete in the Ceara state championship http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/irlandedunord.jpg They have only signed loan players for the squad with the manager ded=ciding that tempory signings would do them for now. There manager is Paulo Bonamigo who is another one who has spent a lengthy managerial career soley in brazil.

PaulHartman71
only managed to sign a few players, hoping for the best, expecting the worst. Guest mikeytwigge
The next league to start is in chile, The First Division B opening stage. The league here is split into the opening stage and the closing stage, with the 12 teams playing eachother twice in both stages meaning that for the final league table everyone will have played each other four times. The team who comes top of the final league table will get promoted while second place qualifies for the promotion stage. The bottom team is relegated. The FCTP http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/FCTP.jpg They have struggled to sign players only having 3 in time for the first league game. The manager they have signed is 57 year old Ubaldo Matildo Fillol who's only previous job was as the argentines national team's goalkeeping coach. The TA (my team) http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/TheTA.jpg As you can see from the squad picture they have only signed one player this may be due in somepart to the fact that they have yet to hire a manager. The RHCP http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/RHCP.jpg Yet another team who have only signed one player and yet to find a manager Putre DFC http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/PutreFC.jpg They are the third of of our chillean teams who have signed one player and no manager Next up is the beggining of the columbian league
Gilbster
Gotta laugh at the rosters for those Chilean teams. Hope my Columbian team has got itself into gear to hire a manager and more than 1 player!
Tomaldinho
Guilherme to be to scorer for The Pirates. Don't think it's the same Guilherme is it? This one plays DM, wouldn't mind if he gets some goals though. Glad the Pirates got a decent manager too, getting in a first division manager was a good move. Looking forward to seeing how he gets on.

corinthiano
I ama bit dissappointed with our signings, thought we would get some higher profile players with our reputation. Guest mikeytwigge
Now onto the Columbian league second division this is split into two phases where the 18 teams play each other once during each stage. At the end of the first stage the top 8 teams qualify for the first phase group stage and the same happens in the second phase. We're Lost http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/WereLost.jpg They have managed to sign quite a number of players and have hired Fernando Castro as a manager who's only previous job was at a columbian first division side. Linga Linga http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/LingaLinga.jpg They are another team that have done well in signing a good number of players and have gone for an inexperianced manager in Pedro Enrique Sarmiento who's only previous job was at a columbian first division side. FC Ice http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/FCIce.jpg In what is becoming a repetitive thing for our columbian sides they have signed a decent amount of players but have gone for a fairly inexperienced manager in Jorge Luis Bernal who's has previously had managerial placements at two columbian first division clubs Santa Gilb http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/santaGilb.jpg They don't disapoint the columbian tradition as they sign a decent number of players but opt for Hernan Dario Herrara who has previously managed at one club another columbian first division side

Guest mikeytwigge
This update features just one of the Brazilian teams as the other 3 teams are in state championships without openining and closing stages. http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/irlandedunordopeningstagestatechamp.jpg an amazing first opening stage for Irlande du Norde saw them topping the table without defeat at the end of the league part which meant they qualified for the semi final where they played fourth place Icasa from the brazilian third division unfortunately though after drawing the first game 0-0 away from home they suffered a 1-0 defeat in front of there own fans. Icasa went on to lose both legs of the semi final to second division Fortaleza. Unfortunately fo Irlande du Norde the total league table which puts together points from the opening stage and the closing stage it gives an advantage to teams that make it futher with all matches going towards the league so with Fortaleza picking up 6 points in the final they moved above irlande du norde who drop to second in the league

Guest mikeytwigge
Southend United (BRA) http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/SouthendUnitedBRAstatechampionship.jpg They were competing in the Portiguar state championship and managed to finish 3rd without defeat meaning they were one of the 8 teams who progressed to the quarter finals. This was just a 1 leg match where they met non-league side Sao Goncalo where they secured a 3-1 win and so progressed to the two legged semi final where they met 2nd division side America (RN) who had finished top of the league table. A 1-1 draw at home meant they still had every chance of progressing when they travelled for the away leg where they secured a 2-1 win. The final is also a two legged affair where they were playing 3rd division Potiguar who had finished second in the league table. A 3-2 win in the home leg set them up well and they came away with a 2-1 win away from home meaning they were state champions remaining unbeaten throughout the entire tournament. So congratulations to the first of our teams who have acheived sucess now lets see if anyone else can follow in there footsteps. Pirates http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/Piratesstatechampionship.jpg The pirates were competing in the Goias state championship where they managed to acheive 3rd place suffering 3 losses in 22 games. The 3rd place finish meant they qualified for the semi finals where they met 3rd division side Atletico Goianiense unfortunatley they lost the first leg 2-1 and 1-0 in the second leg so they were out of the competition Euroville http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/eurovillestatechampionship.jpg These were the worst of our four teams although they were competing in probably the hardest state championship and finishing 10th out of the 20 teams is not the end of the world for them although they will be looking for improvement next year Irlande Du Nord closing stage - http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/irlandedunordclosingstagestatechamp.jpg final overall league table - http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/irlandedunordoverallleaguestatecham.jpg After having considerable sucssess in the opening season they were hoping to reproduce it in the close season. Yet again they topped the league stage without defeat although they did slip up and draw two games. However this time they overcame Icasa in the semi finals after drawing the first leg 2-2 they won the second away leg 2-1. This set up a final against the opening stage winners Fortaleza. They won the first leg away from home 3-1 before winning the second leg 3-0 to take the closing stage title. However it wasnt enough to claim the overall league title which Fortaleza won by 4 points. They then met Fortaleza again in the champions playoff but lost both legs 2-0 to mean that was another trophy they miss out on

Guest mikeytwigge
COLUMBIA How the leagueworks It is split up into two phases The first phase and The Second Phase. In The First Phase there is a league table where each team plays eachother once, the top 8 teams then qualify for the Groups. Here the remaining 8 teams are split into two groups where they play the other 3 teams in their group twice. The winner of each group goes on into the final. All the games played in the phase from the league groups and final are put into an overall phase 1 table so immediately you can see it is a huge advantage to qualify for the groups as you play a minimum of 6 extra games (possibly 8 if you make the final). The second phase is exactly the same and the two overall phase tables are put together to make a final table. The First Phase League table http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/2nddivisionfirstphaseleague.jpg The league table brought considerable sucsses for our teams with only We're Lost missing out on the top 8 as they finished 10th. Santa Gilb were the highest place team finishing in second with FC Ice in fourth and Linga Linga in 5th. The results between our teams were Santa Gilb 2 v 1 FC Ice Linga Linga 0 v 0 Santa Gilb Santa Gilb 2 v 2 We're Lost Linga Linga 1 v 3 FC Ice FC Ice 2 v 1 We're Lost Linga Linga 2 v 1 We're Lost Group Stage http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/2nddivisionfirstphasegroups.jpg LInga Linga were drawn in Group A where 2 wins and 2 draws were enough to secure 2nd placce but unfortunately not the first needed to progress to the final. In group B we had two representitives FC Ice were dissapointed to only finish 3rd claiming only one win but Santa Gilb continued their earlier sucess in the league by topping the group and remaining unbeaten. Final Santa Gilb were facing Bogota FC in the final. After a 1-0 defeat away it didnt look great and they lost the second leg 3-2 to finish as runners up. First Phase overall League http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/2nddivisionfirstphaseoverall.jpg We're Lost didnt make the group stage so stay in 10th place Linga Linga drop down to 7th place and FC Ice remain in fourth place. However the biggest acheivement is by Santa Gilb who despite losing in the final finish up in first place with a 3 point gap.

Guest mikeytwigge
Chilean League - this is fairly simple compared to some of the other leagues, there is an opening stage and a closing stage which gets put together to make a final league table. In each stage you play every club twice so for the final league table you will have played every team four times Opening Stage http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/firstdivisionBopeningstage.jpg Well after a dfficult start all four of our clubs managed to hire managers (details abouts squads and managers will come in final league update) although they were all still thin on the ground in terms of the players that they had in their squads. With such small squads it was looking loke our teams would be spending time near the bottom of the division however there was a suprise afoot as the weakest team FCTP finished in 5th place. The TA were the next team in fourth place mstill a decent effort as they were the last to hire a manager, but the biggest suprise was yet to come as we had two teams in the top two who ran away with the league and left everyone else in their wake. RHCP finished in second and Putre DFC were the champions of the opening stage. It looks like these two teams will both be aiming for promotion with a decent run in the closing stage Matches between teams Putre DFC 4 v 2 FCTP Putre DFC 2 v 0 RHCP Putre DFC 3 v 0 The TA FCTP 3 v 2 Putre DFC RHCP 1 v 1 Putre DFC The TA 1 v 1 Putre DFC FCTP 0 v 1 RHCP The TA 1 v 2 RHCP RHCP 2 v 1 FCTP RHCP 2 v 0 The TA FCTP 1 v 2 The TA The TA 4 v 0 FCTP

Guest mikeytwigge
Finally the Argentine league starts in a time that is more recogniseable to us europeans TFC http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/TFC.jpg Despite having plenty of time TFC have really not used it wisely as their squad is still small so unless they get a move n they could struggle this season. However we shouldnt rule them out yet as in 55 year old manager Daniel Passarella they have hired a very experianced manager who has managed big clubs such as Parma Corinthians and River as well as the national sides of uruguay and Argentina. Espastica http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/espastica.jpg This team have used their time wisely with a huge squad but the manager they have hired is Wilson Graneolattie who has had no previous managerial experiance Arvet http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/arvet.jpg Arvet have got an even larger squad with them being now more than well equiped to tackle the league. However yet again hiring manager Jose Romero with no previos managerial experiance could prove to be a very risky gamble Barag http://i340.photobucket.com/albums/o354/mikeytwigge/barag.jpg Barag have assembled a reasonably sized squad and hired a manager in Hector Rivoira who has had experience managing at 3 other argentine clubs one of which is currently in the premier division. Guest mikeytwigge
The Uruguayan league is the last of our 5 leagues to start and also has the most teams with there being 5 teams in this league. Santa FCB They have managed to sign 9 players and have brought in 65 year old Mono Ruiz who has been manager of 20 different teams and assistant manager at another 10 Hotshots This team have been a huge disapointment signing just 1 player but they do have a fairly experianced manager in Hugo de Leon San Jose They have also been a disapointment signing 2 players on loan and making two permanent signings, but they have a very experianced manager in Julio Ribas who's last job was at the Oman national team Academica Making 16 signings they have had a decent time in the transfer market, but also have signed an experianced manager in Luis Cubilla Essendon Essendon have made just one signing a 32 year old keeper, but in Jorge Fossati they have an experianced manager who has even managed the uruguayan national side.
