macca69
My favourite player Massive blow too. We are going to have to change formation i think.

outlander
Guys, what has happened to Ivanovic? TBH I really didn't want him to go to Chelsea as I thought he can be a real revelation and can improve you a lot. In russian league he caught my eye much more than Vidic in his time. I don't follow russian league for 1.5 years now but before it Ivanovic, Jo and Arshavin really looked far above others for me. So it's a great surprise that he wasn't even given any chance before the signing of Bosingwa and it looks like he is not considered for future at Chelsea at all. Can you who follow Chelsea much more bring the light on this situation?
macca69
I really don't know, i think he will start to appear soon though outlander.
TheRandomGuy
Ivanovic has been named in our Champions League squad, and was an unused sub for the Wigan game, so he hasn't completely vanished off the face of the planet or anything. I want to see him play too fwiw, was apparently very good in the reserves last season.
bridgekings
Shoot, the Essien news is terrible. Hopefully Mikel is around for Saturday, sure I read that Chelsea TV would be giving an injury update on the squad tonight. Looking forward, it's only a week till Europe resumes, I love the Champions League so i'm really looking forward to that. Can't remember a spell for the last few years where we haven't been affected by injuries to key players.
Sparrows Anus
For my money, he's your most important player. Awfull loss if true.
Benoit2
Midfield problem solved then? Yeah I know, sounds harsh, but someone has to step up. Thats what we have so many world-class midfielders for. Hope he gets back soon though, he's an invaluable asset to us.
Goater666
How do you lot think it will go this weekend? You never have an easy game when you play at our place. I can see us snatching a win tbh.
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 10, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 10, 2008 We're gonna win 3-0, Robinho hat-trick of own goals.
Goater666
Richards and Petrov doubtful btw. We are gonna get owned.
Poyplemonkeys
Hoping Mikel's back and we can just control the midfield ending up with a comfortable 2-0.
Goater666
Mikel and controlling the midfield don't really go do they? Kompany to run the show actually.
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 10, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 10, 2008 You've clearly never watched Mikel tbf.
Goater666
Has he played much? You guessed right, no i haven't seen him play at ALL.
JonTheGTFCFan
Hoping Mikel's back and we can just control the midfield ending up with a comfortable 2-0. Is that you Lawro?
deez0r
Mikel in the first game of the season was awesome, seemed to have missed him past couple of games as all shape in the midfield has went all over the show. Hopefully hes back for the weekend, will be a very tough game, can see a draw or 1-0 either way.
Poyplemonkeys
Is that you Lawro? hah, nice. I do think this will be a comfortable win though if we just play it right. No Belletti in central midfield, none of this nonsense. Just get our best team out there and try and get back to Portsmouth performance wise. No Malouda either. Cole and Kalou on the wings, pretty please.
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 10, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 10, 2008 Malouda got dropped by France for slating Domenech. Any chance he can slate Scolari please.

Poyplemonkeys
Malouda to ask if Scolari is Mario or Luigi then storm out of the dressing room hopefully.

JonTheGTFCFan
Still got Malouda In all seriousness, if Drog's back - a 4-4-2 with Mikel,Ballack,Frank and Deco will suffice i think. Malouda and Kalou on the bench if we need a bit of width.
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 11, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2008 Joe looked alright at full time at any rate.

deez0r
So Saturdays game against Man City shall be a tough one, would ideally like to see us line up with: GK: Cech DR: Bosingwa DL: Cole DC: JT DC: Ricky DMC: Mikel MC: Deco MC: Ballack MC: Lamps AMC: Joey ST: Didier Wouldnt mind seeing that with Joe just floating around Didier and Deco, Lamps & Ballack all bombing forward with Mikel doing the role he was playing against Portsmouth. Didier only due to play 45minutes though so could see Anelka starting with Didier on the bench, thoughts?
Ched
Is ballack fit? I thought he was left out of the germany squad as he was injured.
macca69
Squad looking a tad fin if Mikel, Ballack and Joey out. Although hopefully Cole will be able to play.
Abramovic
Im expecting a 442 with Kalou and Anelka up top Ballack is doubtful so wont last the 90 minutes even if he is declared fit Really sorry to see Steve Clarke go he has been a good servant to the club but i can't wish him well at west ham
TheRandomGuy
eurgh, sickening can't find anything about Clarke leaving from Abramovic, not on our site, nor West Ham's.
mag man
eurgh, sickening At least when Scolari decides to step down he will have had premiership experience before managing us.
TheRandomGuy
At least when Scolari decides to step down he will have had premiership experience before managing us. one way to look at it I suppose, but just seeing that name on the back of a West Ham shirt is horrifying. Puts me in a dilemma too, as I can't bring myself to like West Ham, and I can't bring myself to dislike Zola
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 11, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2008 The Times say Clarke's resigned, I'll accept that as confirmation. Simply refusing to see any pic of Franco with a West Ham shirt, honestly gutted by it. Unless he relegates them.
bridgekings
Agent Zola, smelting the iron.
Administrators Philip Rolfe Posted September 11, 2008 Administrators Share Posted September 11, 2008 Well Agents Bates, Flo, Wise and Poyet did the deed at Leeds, agents Zola and Clarke now have to follow suit. Was pointed out that 15 of the 1997/98 squad have tried their hand at managing or coaching, quite impressive.
