Loading screen

Hi guys,

Anyone else's loading screen painfully slow? Takes me a good minute to get from the loading screen to the start screen. The game plays perfectly fine but for some reason it's just the loading page that is slow.

Make sure you have skin cache turned on in preferences

Thanks for the reply.

Is this what you mean? I always have it ticked and just refresh it when I update the kits/graphics. I've tried with it unticked and the loading screen is just as slow.

Try unticking the middle one.

If not i'm not sure.

I tried that but still no luck. Never mind, just gives me time to make a brew before I start playing ;)

Thanks for trying to help though.

You can try removing the movie file to see if it helps .

Back it up first though

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Football Manager 2024\data\game\movies\splash_fm

Remove the folder or just its contents etc

Reload game and it will go blank but only for a few seconds abd takes you straight to start page

If it takes as long as it did before then put those folders back as they were .

You can also check this as a first option

C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2024

Delete Cache folder

Reboot game

Hi, I tried both but no luck. Deleting the cache made no difference and removing the files from the movie folder just caused the game to crash.

Thanks for trying though. It's weird its only FM that is like this.

Are you by any chance using a newgen face pack or similar ?

the more graphics you add to the game, badges, logo, faces etc the slower the startup will be

I'm not using a newgen face pack but am using faces, logos, backgrounds, etc. I just checked the graphics folder size and its over 50GB so that must be the reason for the long loading screen. I never thought of that.

Thanks for letting me know.
