If We're Using Saves from '23 in '24, Will Save Compatible Patches Work with a FM 23 DB?

Title says it all. I have continued a long running save from '23. After the latest update, I cannot load the J League. This is not a deal breaker for me, I just wanted to see if it would be possible. But the AI teams in CL matches not subbing players is concerning. Will all patches only affect the '24 DB and those of us using '23 saves with the old DB have to start new saves for those fixes to work?

I don't think so, since J League was not in the original database you set up, it won't be able to be added. I haven't tried it though, but I imagine you are limited to the original database from creation.

The only updates/fixes that aren't applied to existing save games are usually competition updates and data changes. Which is why you cannot load the J-League

I can't imagine the fix to the subs issue being locked to a new save game.
