3-4-3 2 DM counter

I just started a save in FM24 in Italy and every team seems to play 3 CBs, 2 DMs, 2 wingacks and 3 strikers usually in a triangle AMC+2 STs. How on earth do I counter that? I lost to Inter, I lost to Monza (I'm Atalanta). Any tips?

The game itself tries to talk me into using this abomination of a tactic too.

Go heavy on wing play? A simple 4-3-3 should do the trick.

It's not an abomination of a tactic, it's a 3-4-1-2 that is heavily used in Italy. Also it's quite used in France.

Thanks. Regular wingers I assume? I don't think cutting inside makes a lot of sense since it's so crowded there?

 

On a second thought, it wouldn't hurt to occupy the back 3 with more people. I'm thinking a Target Man, 2 inside forwards  and CM(a) with wingbacks bombing crosses?

Well that depends on your forward I guess, however also a player who cuts inside wouldn't hurt to attack the half-space despite being crowded. You could probably keep the width to "fairly wide" and have the player cut inside later, it's risky however all good teams I've seen risk irl. Btw, not to mini-mod but there's a tactics and training discussion section, if you post there, you'll get more and better answers
