Did SI go too far with the Saudi money?

Now, I know the Saudi league spent crazy sums on some players but it was mostly on wages, I dont think I remember such transfer fees for players like Verane. I think Neymar went for about 80 million pounds and that was the most expensive one.

225 Million pounds for a 31-year-old Verane tho??? I dont know, feels like a cheat.

That is normal. Probably in game saudi teams have too much momey and when ai have money it will spend

Their salaries are also crazy. Virgil was bought for 86m. Gets a 96m salary every year. Then Frenkie de Jong, who is a topballer, gets barely a 14m at Barcelona. I don't know if I like this Saudi stuff. It's gameplaywise a bit weird. I made so easy money with AZ Alkmaar. I am swimming in 200m at the moment.

They are known for crazy high wages but not so much for their sign on fees.

 

As I said, 300 mil is a lot even for a team like Manchester United, not to mention AZ.

I'd say the salaries are fine because that reflects real life, however the transfer fee's are a bit much imo.

I agree. Seems to be extremely easy to make silly money. The transfer fee's are excessive, the wages less so, but still higher than irl in many cases.

I've simmed 9 seasons ahead, and the transfers to Saudi clubs are a bit unrealistic imo. I haven't seen any crazy money being thrown around, but definitely a lot of the Saudi teams are overspending on some players, and I think there's an excess of foreign transfers in general to the country. I'll probably just download a mod to tone it down a little - I guess davincid will probably tweak some things here and there which'll affect this stuff. The problem could be more related to players wanting to move there for the wages, rather than just the Saudi clubs pursuing them.

I'm not sure if this is a problem, but the clubs also let those players contracts run down so they end up leaving on free transfers, and most return to the European leagues (though some to other Saudi clubs), but I can't say if that's realistic or not since there's nothing really in reality to base that on. We'll see in 3-4 years for players like Milinkovic-Savic and others.

The crazy high wages are not the problem, they actually reflect reality very well, it's the crazy high transfer fees for me.
