The colonization of the New World started in 16th century.

A lot of European countries wanted a piece of it.

Great Britain, Spain, France or even the Netherlands or Germany.

The eastern part of the modern day USA was mainly colonized by the UK.

In roughly 100 years Thirteen Colonies were created.

There were the New England Colonies in the North, the MIddle Colonies in the middle and Southern Colonies in the South.

In 1776 the Thirteen Colonies declared their indepence in July 1776 and formed the United States of America.

This was a quick summary from my mind.

The extensive version can be found here:  History.com - The 13 Colonies

And there is only one club which fits perfect...

Welcome to the New England Revolution.

I always set myself some rules:

1. Have some fun.

2. Only sign players from the Thirteen Colonies. 340 citities are eligable.

image.png.3d7fe904842984cc4a79a1b19a747bbe.png

I tried to look at the original map, for e.g. Atlanta, Georgia is not in it.

3. Foreign player only from the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, France, Germany and Sweden.

There is a new rule for me this year.

The U22 Initiative.

This basicly means if you sign young players from abroad, their cap impact is pretty small.

Charlotte FC - What Is The U 22 Initiative?

For e.g. Dylan Borrero

image.png.7049dc429fc887e6fe820e02ee709f56.png

Normally he would impact the cap by 619k.

I could buy it down to 309k with GAM.

But since he is under 22 he is eligable for a U22 Initiative contract and his contract is worth only 151k.

This is one is pretty nice.

Considering points 2. and 3. your player pool might be a bit to big to make this a real challenge, but as long as point 1. happens doesnt really matter. Good luck, will be following along.

Yes, with that part Im not that really happy after one night sleep.

I will try to get rid of the international slots and/or use them as assets once I can.

At the moment we got 8, which is the 2nd or 3rd lowest.

Im planning to go down to 5-6 and only sign UK + Ireland players.

In season 1 I cant do much, since its starting in January 2022.

Also all players who arent eligible, I cant offer them new contract.

So basicly until 2024 I basicly need a new team.

Once the draft in 2023 happens I think the real challenge starts.

Another British player settled over.

Scott Wright will be very usefull player. Left, right and in the middle.

Im planning to use 3 formations and not just stick to one.

Another academy player got an instant contract offer from me.

Conway is born in Foxboro/MA and is a very promising AMC.

For now he will play for our reserve team, but I always swap him to the main team.

The media still thinks we are midtable and this is honestly the goal for this season.

Solid midtable and maybe reach the playoffs.

We start the season away to Portland.

At the end of March we got our first "derby".

NE Revolution are my local team. I'm thinking of doing a save with them in FM24. Since there will be a new coach/manager.

Yes, do it.

The MLS needs more love.

Very close to me! I even have friends that play for Tormenta's academy, and I'm signing up for futsal in Savannah!

Huge trade in my eyes.

We doesnt need the international slot until the end of the season.

We dont need many GAM currently.

We got seven 1st rounder picks and the picks from Portland and us arent really good at the moment.

Born in Bethesda/Maryland Jeremy Ebodisse is a perfect striker for my playing style/formations.

I got lost as soon as I saw your post on Tuesday about the squad registration. I enjoyed managing in MLS but it was a long time ago and have never had the courage to commit to it again. I also toyed with the idea of Australia's A-League to go in on a less competitive but similar format. Unfortunately every time I see how weak their club players are, I get put off.

Good luck with this anyway. It seems you're understanding the rules well so far. I can hear those 'Revs' from here, and it looks like you're motoring already!

Are they starting a league in Savannah? May be interested.

You can pay to rent out a futsal pitch, so me and my friends were going to pool together some money and start playing

The registation is the worst part, once you understand this part, this rest is almost normal.

I would love to help you with it.

You said you done it before...its like cycling...once you learnt it you always can do it. :lol:

Lost to Atlanta in the league and we are out of the cup with a loss to Philly.

But we got our revenge 11 days later and smashed them 4:0.

I guess we play for this playoffs this season.

Another nice trade for us in my eyes.

Bou played 3 games this season and was just always injured. So he wasn't here basicly anyways.

This opens also a DP spot too.

Boateng is a nice backup player, but we got some youth players to fill in.

Two wortless draft picks, player rights and GAM to boost up the value.

Welcome home Scott Caldwell.

We desperately need another DM/CM and he is this one.

image.thumb.png.71ba9bf82cefc1a1998c9a93264fcb4d.png

Subah comes from North Carolina and looks like a decent strinking option.

Salt Lake had no good pick left, so I went for Bayley to fill our reserves.

What a mega deal that last one was. How do you even start trying to compose such a deal? :eek:

Honestly its trail and error.

This one was pretty "simple".:lol:

I looked for an DM/CM and Caldwell fits perfectly. I wanted him since the start of the save.

And now with the injury of Matt Polster, I really need one.

So I looked at the RSL squad and saw that they dont really have a striker.

They are using Rubio Rubin as striker and playing 442.

image.thumb.png.95db72fa43fa7ceac1dde0b2cf9ab12a.png

Like I mentioned I never had Gustavo Bou, since he was injured so I just ask for a trade.

The negotiation went like this:

Start:: Bou <-> Caldwell

Bou + Boateng <-> Caldwell

Bou + Boateng <-> Caldwell + Subah

Bou + Boateng + two first rounder <-> Caldwell + Subah

Bou + Boateng + 2nd + 3rd rounder <-> Caldwell + Subah + Bailey

Bou + Boateng + 1st + 2nd rounder + 65k GAM <-> Caldwell + Subah + Bailey

Final -> Bou + Boateng + 2nd + 3rd rounder + 130k GAM <-> Caldwell + Subah + Bailey

Also RSL got no DP player at the moment, so this helped also.

Its always like "you need ask for a trade in the right moment"

And ofcause you need to offer something good and not just backup players.

@Cheez3y Always knows the ins and outs of the MLS rules better than anyone I know.

I am going to try and emulate him in FM24!

Haha thank you. :lol::)

Its like playing 4D chess, you always need to think ahead 1-2 steps.

Go for it, I would love see someone else do a MLS save.

If there are questions, I can always answer.

I have played in the MLS before usually during my "Journeyman" runs at the start before I start posting saves. I also usually try to get the Revs job as I play as my true alter ego.

But I never really pull of trade shenanigans like you do. I wish there was more info on the player rights screen (like Position) and it was easier to access so I could make those trades or recall a player.

Maybe I will post my Journeyman save with a goal of getting the Revs Job or from the start as an unqualified Ted Lasso.

Yes, there is a lot of room for improvements.

Some MLS mechanics are either hidden, broken or bad programmed.
