Applying to job within same club

I'm curious about one thing... I just got a team in the Belgian 3rd division promoted. It's a U23 team. However, the main team just got relegated from the top division to the second division in the same year.

I already know we both cannot exist in the same division next season. So, my U23s will remain champions but not promoted.

The interesting thing is, the main team manager got fired. If I apply for his job, will I get all the stupid questions about why I'm applying for a job while I still have one? It's the same club, which is why I'm wondering.
