Conardo
I don't understand anymore. As soon as I make a contract offer to a scouted player, he is suddenly contacted by other clubs as well. There was nothing before... How is your experience here?
rp1966
This was happening quite a lot in FM22 and I've seen some people playing lower league complaining that they're approaching free agents who haven't had interest for months and suddenly they've got a bunch of teams competing to sign them. Feels like a deliberate mechanism to make AI teams seem a bit more competitive in the transfer market by using your approaches as targets for other teams.
Hovis Dexter
I agree ... it's a total pain but as a workaround try removing the player from your shortlist as soon as you've offered him a contract.
phnompenhandy
It's been that way for many many years!

That actually seems to work! Thanks very much
GIMN
I always prefer to find a way to rationalise this behaviour. You approach the player. The player's agent uses that as leverage to get other clubs interested. Other teams have to make a snap decision because the player is already undergoing contract negotiations, therefore teams all bid suddenly.

I'm not sure if there is an English idiom for the same. There needs to be.
HUNT3R
I do the same, tbf. I have a lot of players that I follow. I follow their progression, their transfer status and the likely wage and transfer demands. It might be someone that I really want, but (as an example) he's a little too expensive in my opinion. It could be the end of a transfer window and I see that someone has made a bid and had it accepted. It's still above what I'd like to pay, but I have to make a choice - get him now or potentially stop following him because he isn't going to be a target in the short to medium term.
Conardo
Maybe anorher solution: Add him in the squadplanner? Edited November 15, 2022 by Conardo
el_manayer
It has been happening since years, and even if you can try to justify it in some cases, it just happens too often. Edited November 16, 2022 by el_manayer
