No Steffen for USA. No other real surprises.

Surprising in being realized, not merit. Steffen should've been a near lock for the #1 shirt, but he chose money over football, and now he gets to watch on TV. Will be interesting to see how Slonina's move to Chelsea plays out.

Good to see Haji Wright and Josh Sargent play themselves back into the squad. Pepi's move, not surprisingly, backfired. Midfield was incredibly predictable. Backline is a bit of a **** show.

How is he only 33. Thought he was way older

Senior international debut at 17, signed for Spurs at 18, All downhill from there. The fuss made about him becoming the record cap holder was 5 years ago.

Fourth choice right wing back, sixth choice centre half?

Moukoko made it! :D

Fully deserved on form, tbh. Especially considering the options that Germany have in his position.

A bit thinner really with Werner injured and also Reus out. Although Reus is more a player from the wings (even more so than Werner) - this did leave a lot more room for Moukoko.

That man has no luck with major competitions

Pepe and Ronaldo and all their rapid youngsters. Against a Uruguay squad with about four players hurtling towards forty years of age. Veterans who will make up for their lack of pace with shithousing all night.

That group game has its own Wikipedia page nailed on.

When is Mane likely to play again? Are Senegal including him in case they make the quarters or something? I thought he was done.

I don't think any serious NT would've taken him, his injury is obviously serious and I'm afraid they'll try to play him in the second on third game and only make things worse.
