How to reinstate Russia and Russian club in different competitions ?

In this french thread, the user wants to know if it will be possible via FM 22 Editor or FM 23 editor (when it will be out) to reinstate Russia nation and club in the different competition as it was before the war in Ukraine.

The answer is yes.

It has been done by remaking European cups. The 80's cup thread in the download sections shows that it can be done.

But (big but).

It means remaking comeptitions. And the work is tough and complex.

Yes. There's the option of remaking continental and international competitions as mentioned above, although there are some issues with that approach. For starters remade continental competitions usually lose some features of the default ones. I believe russian clubs would still be forced to play their continental games at neutral grounds and neither they or the national team would be able to get friendlies against foreign teams.

There's also the much more difficult and time consuming option of swapping russia with a different nation. Since the block is on russia itself, you should be able to move all the teams, cities, competitions, players etc. to a defunct nation, rename it russia and use that instead. It would be a LOT of work though.

Also specifically for FM22 there's the option of rolling back to the 22.3 patch. Although IIRC moderators don't want people talking about that on the forum.

I have been reworking the USSR from Russia to the extinct Soviet Union. It works, but needs some fiddling so you end up with the correct newgen names.
