slide1.jpg?w=1024

Welcome

I’d like to say a massive “Thank You” for stopping by and taking the time out of your day to visit my FM contents page and the first blog of many for FM23.

So, over on twitter I made the announcement that I would return to the blogging scene following a short break and announced that I would be adventuring off to Denmark and taking over the reins as @BKFREM_official manager in a save called “The Kings of København” when FM23 is released…

In this introduction, I will be covering.

  • Aims & Objectives
  • Squad 2022/2023
  • Stadium
  • BK Frem History
  • The Golden Era
  • The Ups, Downs & Bankruptcy
  • Notable BK Frem Stars
  • The Fans
  • Shout-Outs
  • Final Words

So, without delay, let’s begin…

Aims & Objectives

I have set out some aims and objectives for my time in Denmark which I will use as a baseline and will look to re-evaluate as the save/series goes on.

My aims and objectives for the first five seasons.

  • 1st Season – To not get sacked and finish in the top half 3. Division.
  • 2nd Season – Win promotion from 3. Division and get into 2nd round Sydbank Pokalen (Danish Cup).
  • 3rd Season – Remain in the 2. Division and build a squad for the next season.
  • 4th Season – Become an established 2, Division team and be competitive in the Sydbank Pokalen (Danish Cup).
  • 5th Season – Finish in the top half 2. Division.

My aims and objectives for season six to season 10.

  • 6th Season – Win promotion from 2. Division.
  • 7th Season – Remain in the NodicBet Liga and build a squad for the next season and get into the latter stages of the Sydbank Pokalen (Danish Cup).
  • 8th Season – Become an established NodicBet Liga team.
  • 9th Season – Finish in the top half NodicBet Liga and remain finishing in the latter stages of the Sydbank Pokalen (Danish Cup).
  • 10th Season – Win promotion from NodicBet Liga and get into 3F Superliga. (Top tier in Denmark).

My aims and objectives for season 11 to season 15.

  • 11th Season – Battle regelation and survive.
  • 12th Season – Finished out of the Relegation stages.
  • 13th Season – Become an established 3F Superliga team.
  • 14th Season – Win the Sydbank Pokalen (Danish Cup) and finish in the Championship group in 3F Superliga.
  • 15th Season – Win the 3F Superliga.

My aims and objectives for season 16 onwards.

  • Continue to dominate Denmark.
  • Win European competition.

What’s if you get sacked at any point…. Well FM Fans, Titling the save/series “The Kings of København” works in my favour as that there are roughly up to 10 football clubs in the Danish capital across the tiers of football, so the story can continue but my initial idea is a one club save…But you never know!!!

Squad 2022/2023

The club photo at the start of the 22/23 campaign and once the game is released, I will be posting an updated on the first team, youth teams and staff members to see if the squad has changed after this photo was taken.

At first look at the squad from the photo, there are only 20 players on the books and going off the FM22 research I did on the club itself; I will have to look at bringing in a few players to bolster the squad.

Stadium

Valby Idrætspark

Is the home ground of BK Frem and it has hosted a total of nine Danish FA-recognized internationals too.

The capacity of the stadium is around 12,000 (4,400 seats).

BK Frem History

Now, let’s get to know the club…

Boldklubben Frem was founded July 17th, 1886, as a cricket club bearing the name Fremskridtsklubbens Cricketklub (Cricket club of the Progress Club). The club was founded by left wing political activists and the club has always had ties to workers and unions.

On the 9th of December 1887, football was introduced, and the name changed to Boldklubben Frem, sifted at Fremskridtsklubbens (The Ball Club Forward, founded by the Progress Club). The “founded by” part disappeared at some point in time and the club became Boldklubben Frem with the nickname BK Frem or just Frem.

Football in Denmark at the time was primarily based in Copenhagen and all the clubs played their matches in Østerfælled.

In 1905, the club moved to its new surroundings at Vesterbro. Now a days it’s a part of central Copenhagen but back then it was the outskirts of Copenhagen and both opponents and the press hated it as the trams didn’t go all the way the Frem’s pitch and had to walk from the last stop to the pitch.

In 1942, the club moved to Valby Idrætspark where it’s still located although it was only their practice ground in the beginning since it played their matches at the national stadium København Idrætspark like many clubs at the time. Since 1965, the club has played its home games at Valby Idrætspark or Valby Stadion.

One of the founder members of Dansk Boldspils Union (DBU) which is the Danish FA in 1889 and won the first national championship in 1923 albeit the “league” structure was totally different back then. Frem won the Copenhagen championship and thus participated in the national playoff which they won against AGF from Aarhus and from 1927 a true Danish league was created.

The Golden Era

The 1930’s and 1940’s was the best period in the club’s history with championships won in 1931, 1933, 1936, 1941 and 1944. Since then, the club hasn’t won the championship but won the Danish Cup in 1956 and 1978. From the inauguration of the Danish championship in 1927 to 1980 the club play in the best league of Denmark in all seasons except from 1961 to 1963.

image-2.png?w=890 Frem’s squad of the 1943–1944 championship-winning season.

The Ups, Downs & Bankruptcy

From 1980 until 1993 it was a bit up and down but in 1991-92 the club surprised most of football Denmark when they won bronze. Unfortunately, the next season the club was relegated and on top of that the club went bankrupt and was force relegated to the fourth tier known as Danmarksserien then.

Since then, the club has struggled to adapt to modern day football with a lot more professionalism and a lot more money. They bounced back and was promoted to Superligaen in 2003 but they only managed one season and was relegated again. The next years was tainted by overspending to get back to Superligaen and in 2010 the club went bankrupt for the second time. This time getting force relegated to the fifth tier in Københavnerserien.

The club got promoted to years in a row winning first the Københavnerserien (fifth tier) and then Danmarksserien (fourth tier) and got back in the 2. Division (third tier) which was divided in two; West and East. In 2020-21 the club ended 7th in 2. Division East and since East and West the division was split into 2. Division and 3. Division the club was “relegated” to 3. division (fourth tier).  Last season the gained promotion through second place after FC Roskilde.

From 2010 and until earlier this year the club has been an amateur club but now a private limited company has been established with shares sold to both fans and investors in a new attempt to rise in the ranks. Let’s just say that you have an easier job in FM that we do in real life.

Notable BK Frem Stars

Sophus “Krølben” Nielsen

Sophus played for Frem in 1904-06, 1907-1910, 1912-1921.

He was the first superstar and played 137 times and scored 111 goals. Sophus also played for the Danish national team where his record was 20 matches and 16 goals. At the Olympics in 1908, he scored a record breaking 10 goals against France in a game that Denmark 17-1! A record that wasn’t broken until 2001 when Archie Thompson scored 13 goals in Australia’s 31-0 win against American Samoa.

In 1911, he played for Holstein Kiel in Germany where he scored a ridiculous number of goals. He scored 72 goals in 18 matches!!!

image-3.png?w=202 Sophus “Krølben” Nielsen

Pauli Jørgensen

Soon after Sophus “Krølben” the next and probably the biggest superstar ever of the club came Pauli Jørgensen. He was probably also one of the first superstars in Danish football and he was well known throughout the whole country.

He debuted in 1925 and played until 1942 when he retired in fury. In the quarterfinals of the Danish Championship FREM had drawn 2-2 against B. 1909 from Odense and the rematch ended 0-0 and it was decided that the winner would be found on a draw instead of playing more.

Pauli played 297 matches for FREM in total and scored 288 goals. On the national team he was just as good. He played 47 matches, 44 goals from 1925 to 1939.

He was on the team winning the national championship in 1931, 1933, 1936, 1941 and after his retirement he went on to be the coach of FREM and was the coach for 1944 championship team.

The VIP lounge at Valby Stadion is named after him.

image-4.png?w=576 Pauli Jørgensen in action. (Far left)

“Lange” John Hansen

One of the clubs most talented players in the 1940’s. From 1943 to 1948, he played 86 matches scoring 81 goals. “Lange” translate to long meaning tall but it mostly a reference to his outstanding aerial abilities as he scored a lot of headed goals.

He was a part of the Danish national team that won bronze at the 1948 Olympics including four goals against Italy in a 5-3 win. This win pathed a wave of transfers from Denmark to Serie A. John ended up at Juventus where he was a big success. From 1948 to 1954 he played 187 matches and scored 124 goals and winning the Serie A twice and was named Serie A top scorer in 1951/52 season with 30 goals.

He also played one season for Lazio before heading back to Denmark to play for Frem from 1957 to 1960 making his total for the club to 115 matches and 113 goals.

image-5.png?w=358 John Hansen at Juventus

Ole Mørch

Debuted in 1967 and played his last match in 1980. Played in 346 matches and scored 109 goals. He later became a coach with Frem winning bronze in 1991-92. After Frem’s bankruptcy, he went on to coach other clubs like AB with who he won the Danish Cup in 1998 and bronze in 1998-99 season. He later returned to FREM and got them promoted to the Superligaen for the 2003-04 season but was fired after only 9 games into the season with 11 points.

Ole is still a member of the club and is still coming to the home games at the age of 74.

image-6.png?w=511 Ole Mørch at BK Frem

Per Wind

Is the club’s record holder for most matches played. From his debut as a 17-year-old boy in 1973 until 1993 he played 589 games before retiring. However, in 1998 due to quarantines and injuries Per made a remarkable comeback at 43 years old and played his final match taking his total to 590 matches.

Like Ole, he’s still a member of the club and is still around for home games from time to time.

image-7.png?w=358 Wind in 2008

The Fans

There are two fan groups.

One official, one unofficial…

The official one is BK Frem Support. The oldest official supporter group in Denmark founded in 1986 when the club turned 100. Isn’t as big as it used to be but are still standing strong and usually arranges bus trips for all away games. Mostly consists of people who have been around for years and are perhaps struggling a bit to get new younger members which leads us to the unofficial fan group.

The unofficial fan group is called Paulis Rødder. Named after Pauli Jørgensen. Rødder has a double meaning. It can be translated to roots and rascals. The roots of FREM are Pauli and the fans are the rascals.

The group arose after the bankruptcy in 2010 and have been located behind one of goals at the stadium ever since. Unlike BK Frem Support there are no board and no membership to be paid. No one and everyone are the leaders. They are the most vocal at home games and does banners and so on.

Both groups are highly appreciated by both the club itself and usually all the opponents as well as they are known to clean up after themselves when the match is over.

Especially the opponents are used to fans cleaning up and putting all garbage in bags.

Shout-Outs

First shout-out goes to @ryancelticdaft, who when I tweeted for “FM23 I want to try and avoid the following countries as that I have played/blogged fm20,21,22” and suggested BK Frem and then the club responded saying “Do It” which made my mine up there and then.

Second shout-out to Jimmy over from @BKFREM_official page on twitter, who DM’d me with information and that help me in writing parts of this blog.

The third and final shout-out goes to @CustomFMGFX, who made the thumbnail for this blog series as that I normally do my own but mine didn’t/wouldn’t have done the club justice, so my guy stepped in. But then that wasn’t it…

CustomFMGFX then tweeted “Snazzy BK Frem kit recreations for @Coxie84 who will be managing them in #FM23!” – So, FM Fans go check the socials, follow and if you need a thumbnail or kits then drop a DM, always happy to help out a fellow FM creator!!

(FM23) – The Kings of København (1) – BK FREM

Posted on 5 Nov 2022 by CoxieFM

Aims & Objectives, The Staff, The Squad & The Tactic…

slide1-4.jpg?w=1024

Welcome to the first post from my new FM23 save titled ‘The Kings of København’ where I aim to take 2. Division in Denmark to Champions League glory.

If you missed the last entry, you can catch up on it here.

Caveat – I did the screenshots on the players and staff during the BETA period, so current/potential may differ as I won’t start this save until full release on the 8th of November.

Aims & Objectives

Here is a recap of the aims and objectives I will be use as a baseline but will look to re-evaluate as the series goes on.

But if it goes wrong then, not to fear FM Fans, by titling the series “The Kings of København” works in my favour as that there are roughly about 10 football clubs in the Danish capital across the tiers of football, so the story can continue but ideally this is a one club save…But you never know!!!

CoxieFM

image-4.png?w=1024

Boldklubben Frem (BK Frem) have today confirmed the appointment of CoxieFM as the club’s new manager. It’s official, I have taken by first managerial post of FM23 to start the long road to the Champions League trophy begins now… (Yes, for my sins I do support Walsall FC (English League Two side) and I am a season ticket holder too).

image-5.png?w=1024

BK Frem booked their place in the 2. Division by winning promotion from the 3 as runners-up. Division last season. The club are currently enduring a ten-year barren spell, having not won a competition since 2012. We do have history and have won the Danish top division six times and finished runners-up nine times.

image-6.png?w=1024

The board expectation this upcoming season is to avoiding finishing bottom of the 2. Division and be competitive in the Sydbank Pokalen. The supporter’s vision is to remain in the 2. Division this season, so I have it all to do with this one-year contract at the club.

image-35.png?w=1024

Finances status seems okay for this level of football, and we have a transfer budget of nearly £8K, which I was surprised about. We will have to work

image-7.png?w=1024

I am starting the series off with no coaching badges and Sunday league footballer experience only.

The Staff

Me and my BK Frem staff for the start of this series, and I am currently on the most money even though I have no coaching qualifications. I am hoping once I start, I’ll be requesting my first coaching badge.

I, also have space for the following position at the club;

First Team: 1x Coach (General/Fitness), 1x Chief Scout,2x Scout & 1x Head Physio.

U19s: 1x Coach (General/Fitness/GK).

image-13.png?w=1024

The Squad

BK Frem

We have only 18 players in the first team and only have one first team GK. So, on looking at the BK Frem II GK’s, I will have to look at bringing in a backup GK, more likely on loan if I can help it. That is not the only position, I need to at least bring on about six more players (2xDef, 2x Mid & 2xFor) in on loan/free transfers or maybe, take the chance and promote players from BK Frem II/U19s. We do have decent potential in this club, so I am not worried and hoping for a good start to the series.

image-9.png?w=1024

BK Frem II

On first look at the BK Frem II side, there is one player Salieu Drammeh being moved into the first team straight away and will try and change that amateur contract too. There are also four other players that I will be checking up on as the season goes on and they are Lukas Corner, Isak Tannander, Valdemar Frahm and Rasmus Fugl.

image-11.png?w=1024

BK Frem U19

Only two midfielders’ make up our U19 side. I am not worried at the moment but will probably have to rely on either newgens or the odd player/players being released from higher divisions clubs like I mentioned above.

image-12.png?w=1024

The Tactic

KISSKeep It Simple Stupid….CoxieFM!!

I have been using this tactic in my BETA save as PSV, so why not import it for this series and after putting the players in the starting XI, it looks like I should be fine to use this. I might see what players are available to bring in as that in the RB, LB, AML and TF are about as are all under three stars.

boldklubben-frem_-overview-3.png
boldklubben-frem_-overview-4.png

Recruitment Focus

I have never managed in Denmark before, so I am going to be scouting all positions in my tactic, but I might tweak the current ability to two stars +. But looking above in my best XI, I’ll defo look to strengthen the forward line and bring in a TF and possibility FB and IF, if I can stretch the wage budget.

image-34.png?w=1024

Other Nations

I’ll be on a laptop and will be load up these eight leagues with a large database. Also, to note I always play my FM saves with prevent use of the in-game editor ticked too.

Season 2022/23

slide1-2.jpg?w=1024

The greater metropolitan area of Copenhagen is home to the capital of Denmark and to major football clubs like FC København and Brøndby IF. But could BK FREM become “The Kings of København”. CoxieFM has been set this challenge.

Last episode: The Kings of København (1)

On The Pitch

July 2022

Two weeks had passed before we first kicked a ball in preseason, where we faced three Danish non-league clubs before ending the five-game preseason campaign in Denmark against two sides, who are in our division, just to see how we get on against fellow clubs from 2. Division.

I could not have asked for a prefect start as the BK Frem fans sang the praises of the players at Valby Stadion as we scored six past FC Udfordringen in the 6-0 win with Aleksandar Lazarevic scoring a hat-trick on his first game for the club. We, then followed it up with another comfortable win over Boldklubben af 1973 Herlev, where yet again Lazarevic was on the scoresheet with a brace in the 4-1 victory. It was three wins out of three with another 4-1 win, this time against Ballerup-Skovlunde Fodbold again at Valby Stadion. A brace from Lukas Corner aka new nickname Lukas “In the Top” as both his goals found the top bins. Awesome efforts to be fair and this would be the time for me to learn, how I put highlights into a blog. Anyone knows, drop me a DM.

Following the three wins against lower league clubs, we faced the first of two sides in our league and first up was FC Roskilde, who have a cool club badge, check it out, anyway back to the game and they inflicted our first defeat in preseason by two goals to one. Our final game was 4-4 draw against fellow blogger @TractionFM (go check his work out) side Aarhus Fremad. The game can only be described as six minutes of madness…

image-14.png?w=1024

August 2022

My first competitive game was in the Sydbank Pokalen in the first-round tie against Vanløse IF, who are in the league below us, and we emerged victorious in the 2-0 win. Always happy when you win our first game in charge at a new club and a bonus is not getting knocked out at the first hurdle of cup competitions, that’s normally in the second round, oops…

Just to give you people a quick overview of how Danish 2. Division works before I get started his that it is split into two phases. The first phase is preliminary phase 11 teams play 20 games and if we are lucky and finish in the top six, we then play another 10 games in the promotion stages for a chance to win promotion if you finish 1st or 2nd in the league. However, if we are unlucky and finish 7th and below, we enter the relegation stage where you play 8 games instead of 10 games and if you finish rock bottom then bye, bye your relegation and possibly sacked.

Just a late add on to the post – The league is a bit skewed this season because Jammerbugt were relegated due to bankruptcy. Normally there are twelve teams in the league. Top 6 plays for promotion. Bottom 6 plays for relegation.

So, let’s get into the league games…

The first match was against my mates’ team Aarhus Fremad at the Valby Stadion, and we came back from behind twice to draw 2-2. Then revenge is sweet as we handed FC Roskilde their first defeat of the season and we got our own back as they beat us in preseason. However, they were the better side, so we FM’d them. Unbeaten in three games, you say…I do, I say in a seven-goal thriller against HIK. New signing Johannes Houberg, who you will meet in the off the pitch section scored a brace on his debut in the 4-3 win.

However, unfortunately we ended the month in defeat. Not in the league but in the second round of the Sydbank Pokalen to non-league club Holbæk B&I 3-2 in extra-time. We had twice led the game and both times pegged back straight away, but they had the final laugh in the final minutes of extra-time which knocked us out of the competition. I am slightly gutted; however, it means we can just concentrate on the league.

image-15.png?w=1024

September 2022

The month started badly with another defeat and our first in the league at home against Kolding IF and yet again in the final minutes of a match to lose 2-1 in front of the fans. I haven’t used this phase yet and it was normally a phase I did in the beta when we used to lose but this time, I can finally say we bullied AB as we moved into 4th place in the league by beating them 4-1, thanks to four different goalscorers in a much-rotated squad due to a couple of injuries and then we go on the bully Brabrand IF at their ground to send our fans home happy and smiling after coming back from two nil down to win the match 4-2 with inform Aleksandar Lazarevic brace.

What is it with the last game of the month ending in defeat? This time, we were reduced to ten-men following right back Casper Lykke naughty challenge on the 76th minute, which at this point we were hanging onto a point but then in the 93rd minute, Thisted Fodblod defender scored with the last touch of the game to make 3-2 on the night.

image-16.png?w=1024

League Table

BK Frem currently sit in the third in the table after seven games. I know it’s still early days, however we are playing above expectations so far as many have tipped us to be in the relegation stage come the end of this preliminary phase. However, I feel we are good enough this season to at least finish in the top six by the close of play of this phase. Oh, by the way cough….we are above Aarhus Fremad mate. Remember it’s a marathon not a sprint lol….

image-17.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

Transfer News

Outgoing’s

Two players who were on amateur contracts have departed the club and they were (RB) Don Darryl and (CB) Oliver Thers who both played for the BK Frem II team. I wish them both luck in the future and hopefully never scored against us.

Incoming’s

I brought three players in but all three I didn’t bring in straight away. I only have roughly £700 per week to work with in the wage budget and I did have a few players in on trial during the preseason window who were all at least four-star current, however most of them wanted about six-seven pound per week which to blow all that on one player was never an option as that I wanted to fill in depth in at least three areas and they were as follows

Gustav Lindén (GK)

I need a backup goalkeeper who’s potential was more than two stars which I had beforehand and found Lindén on the books of FC København on an amateur contract and brought him in. Definitely, not a starter but a decent backup and would have said I’d use him in the cup but we are out of that competition already.

image-18.png?w=1024

Ethan Amundsen-Day (CB)

Whilst raiding FC København for a GK, I came across this little gem of a defender, and I managed to bring him in on a season long loan and he goes straight into the starting line-up and a star for the future and definitely one I’d like to keep on at the club for next season. Started off strong so far in the league.

image-19.png?w=1024

Johannes Houborg (FOR)

Signed after the season started to be honest and needed another forward to help Lazarevic with the goals as the others weren’t chipping in. Brought in on a free transfer and he’s already a four-star current ability and chipped in with goals too.

image-20.png?w=1024

Final Words

Not a bad start to life in the depth of Danish football to be fair. Gutted that we didn’t play any of the big clubs in the club to get some money out of the competition but at least now, we can just focus on our league performance,

On The Pitch

October 2022

We welcome B.93 to the Valby Stadion, who have one of the league’s worst disciplinary records and yes of course they did not disappoint as they were reduced to 10-men on the 46th minute mark, but Johannes Houborg has already scored the only goal of the game by then to give us a 1-0 win to help us keep up the pressure on the teams at the top of the league. A superb goal from Jakob Skovgaard did send us to the top of the league for a brief time against Skive IK in a game that ended 2-2 with wing back Chirstian Bramsborg scoring in his first start of the season, and I think it was his first start as well.

Esbjerg fB, when produced one of the best comes back’s I have seen in recent FM’s. At half-time, I would have said the game was dead and buried with us 3-1 up at half-time, thanks to goals from Oliver Andersen, Johannes Houborg and Isak Tånnander but I was completely wrong on suffered a 4-3 defeat. With that defeat meant we dropped from top spot in the league down to 4th place. That’s how tight it is at the top end of the table.

We, then travelled to the Riisvangen Stadion to face Aarhus Fremad, hello my friend we meet again, and we did have the last laugh, thanks to in-form forward Johannes Houborg brace in the 2-1 win. Even though, I wasn’t going to sign anyone at the start, but Houborg has been brilliant for us seen arriving on a free transfer and bagged ten plus goals in the league so far.

image-21.png?w=1024

November 2022

We move from 4th to 3rd in the league, as we try to keep up with the top two in this preliminary phase of the league and it was helped by a 4-0 victory over FC Roskilde. Lukas “In the” Corner scored first of this match before goals from Lodberg, Houborg and Gronne sealed the win.

Typical, result next in the league as we face a club that have one of the worst defences in the league and yes, I am thinking that we would score many goals against them, oh no I was wrong…. not only didn’t we scored, and we went on to lose the game 2-0 and to make thing worse for us was experienced midfielder Mikkel Andersson got himself sent off with a bad tackle after 52 minutes so we will be having words later Mr Andersson…

However, so after we were back to winning ways in the next game before the winter break by beating AB 3-1 at the Valby Stadion, thanks to Johannes Houborg brace before Aleksandar Lazarevic, who I had actually thought he’d forgotten where the goal was. Must have visited lost property to find his boots.

image-22.png?w=1024

League Table

So, we are heading into the winter break after playing 14 games and we find ourselves in 3rd place, four and six points before 1st and 2nd place respectively. There are only six games left to play for in the preliminary phase and we are currently in a good position to qualify for the promotion phase, but we need to keep in touch with at least 2nd place if we want to get promoted this season.

image-23.png?w=1024

Final Words

Still over the moon with our performance so far this season and hope it will continue after the winter break as we push for the promotion phase of this league campaign and hoping I can bring in a new face or two during this off season to help us.

Off The Pitch

I want to start off by saying to the chairperson, thank you for my second qualification badge of this series and now I am National B licensed. Buzzing to say the least, onwards and upwards…

image-33.png?w=1024

New Deal – I announced it on twitter the other day. I was only contracted for this season; however, I must say I am above all expectations this season and it’s well deserved me getting another two years at the club and can’t wait to see how we progress in this series.

image-30.png?w=1024

The standard not so good youth intake preview…

image-31.png?w=1024

Transfers Out

image-32.png?w=1024

Two players came to me wanting to leave the club and were not getting any game time. So, I transfer listed both and they left on free transfers that helped reduce the wage bill by £350 per week, which isn’t a lot, but it helped out as I wanted to extend a couple of players contracts who are playing out of their skins. Like I said to the previous players, good luck and don’t come back to score against me because I have seen that many times in FM saves.

Transfers In

The Strength of the Wolf is in the Pack…

Loaned in not one, not two but three players in from Wolverhampton Wanderers for the rest of the season and the best thing is that I am not paying a single penny in wages or in monthly fees..

I am a Walsall fan and wanted to raid the mighty Saddlers, however they wanted player wages so I drove across the black country to Dingle village to raid a premiership side and it was a bonus that they didn’t want money. So after that season is finished I will be raiding them again and possibly looking at other premier league clubs.

From left to right – Lee Harkin (FOR) 19 years old, Justin Hubner (CB) 19 years old & Dylan Scicluna (MID) 18 years old. Also, believe that one or all three players are out of contract at the end of this season too.

image-34.png?w=800

On The Pitch

January 2023

So, 80 odd days have passed since our last match before this long ass winter break, and I decided that I would arrange at least four friendlies as that funny enough none of our players went to the world cup in Qatar. The first three games were against sides in the league above our and the last one was a non-league club so I could play some of our fringe players to assess on their fitness and performance.

FC Helsingør were first to visit the Valby Stadion and we raced to a two-nil lead, but I must remember it’s not a race it’s a marathon and there forward bagged a hat-trick condemning me to a 3-2 defeat. There were a lot of positives in this match. So, we roll onto the next match, and it was against AC Horsens and youthful winger Salieu Drammeh came off the bench, did a bale like run and slotted home to give us the 1-0 victory.

image-26.png?w=1024

February 2023

The last of the top clubs we faced ended in a 2-2 draw and it was us that came from two nil down to rescue the draw against HB Køge with goals coming from Salieu Drammeh who I swear only scores in friendlies and Emil Schou with the other goal. A much-rotated side face København KFUM and unfortunately it ended in defeat, however not fussed in was a much-needed run out for some players Aleksandar Lazarevic and Lee Harkin were on the scoresheet.

It couldn’t have started any worse in the league which ended in defeat to at the time 2nd placed Kolding IF, but we made up for it in the next game by beating Brabrand IF 3-0 in front of our fans. Lucas Lodberg, Johannes Houborg and then Rasmus Gronne sealed it from the spot and secured our spot in the next league phase.

image-27.png?w=1024

March 2023

The month of March, we managed to continue our unbeaten run to three matches following the two draws in this month of fixtures against one side in the preliminary phase and another trying to get into it. They were against Thisted FC and Skive IK which ended 2-2 and 1-1 respectively. Johannes Houborg scored a brace in the 2-2 match and Lee Harkin scored his first for the club in the 1-1 match, which really should have been his like 5th or 6th goals in like four matches, the amount of times he was offline was unreal.

image-28.png?w=1024

April 2023

I’ll tell you another thing, I have noticed lately and pull up a chair….YELLOW CARDS, Jesus…At least six players get booked minimum in each match. Anyone else, or is it just my save?

It was 3rd against 2nd in the league and boy, we bullied them and took their place in the league in the 4-0 win over B.93 with Lee Harkin getting a double, Mathias Bonde from the spot and with Isak Tannander coming off the bench to seal it late on. However, some bad news came out of this game with a bad injure to Jakob Skovgaard.

image-35.png?w=1024

In our last, we beat on paper one of the better sides in the league by 3-1. Esbjerg fB scored first, and numerous changes happened at halftime, a firm word was spoken, and the boys hit back to score three. Johannes Houberg, Lucas Lodberg and Salieu Drammeh, and yes it was his first goals of the season too.

image-29.png?w=1024

League Table

We head into the next phase of the league in a good position and only two points off 1st place. the next 8 matches will determine if we stay in this league or get promoted into the league above. *(I got ahead of myself, a little and you will notice that B.93 and FC Roskilde still needed to play each other and yes B.93 of course won and go into the next phase level on points with us)

(FM23) – The Kings of København (5) – BK FREM

Season 2022/23

slide1-8.jpg?w=1024

The greater metropolitan area of Copenhagen is home to the capital of Denmark and to major football clubs like FC København and Brøndby IF. But could BK FREM become “The Kings of København”. CoxieFM has been set this challenge.

Last episode: The Kings of København (4)

On The Pitch

April 2023

It was 1st verses 2nd in the league and on loanee Lee Harkin sends BK FREM to the top of the league on matchday one in the promotion stage phase of this season with a comfortable 4-0 win over Kolding IF on a wet afternoon at the Valby Stadion with Johannes Houborg and Mathias Bonde with the other goals. As soon as we were top, we went to relinquish that spot and drop down to 3rd in the league following a 2-1 defeat to B.93, inverted winger Lodberg getting our goal in the 69th minute.

However, back to winning ways against managerless Esbjerg fB, who were reduced to ten men in this match along with us, as Rasmus Gronne let the side down with a professional foul. Our goals came from in-form on-loanee Lee Harkin with wingback Rasmus Louie Larsen getting his first goal of the season before Johannes Houborg sealed the three points in the 3-2 win. We lost to Aarhus Fremad 1-0.

This month has been a rollercoaster of a ride with these results; however, we stay in 2nd place and occupy the last promotion place.

image-41.png?w=1024

May 2023

Still in 2nd place following back-to-back league defeats, this time by 1-0 to Thisted FC.

We go onto draw three games in a row which meant we dropped out of the promotion place 2nd into 3rd in the league. Draws against Kolding IF 2-2 (Drammeh & Mathias Bonde), B.93 0-0 and the Esbjerg fB 1-1 (Derrar). Even though we still managed to pick up points however didn’t help in our situation for promotion.

image-40.png?w=1024

June 2023

Up next was Aarhus Fremad and we could only manage a draw as they equalized late after we had our two-nil lead reduced 2-2 meaning we had to share the point. Our goals came from Gronne, yet again from the spot and he has missed a few this season too and Oliver Andersen with the other goal.

This meant going into the final game, we needed to win against Thisted FC and needed our good friends Aarhus Fremad to beat Kolding IF as that B.93 had already secured one of the promotion places.

We were in “Dreamland” as that Lee Harkin and Aleksandar Lazarevic scored in the win 2-0……But unfortunately, Kolding IF win meant they had won the league on the last day of the season and taking that final promotion place…So, @TractionFM your Aarhus Fremad side owe me!!!!

But imagine if we had turned them four draws in a row to wins, it might have been our name on this season’s trophy.

image-39.png?w=1024

League Table

We end the season in 3rd place and to be honest, we were predicted to be in a relegation battle and to finish as high as we did, I am proud of the players and this club.

Short term pain, but will be back stronger next season, so watch this space…

The budget is in…

Not bad really, I have had worse at other clubs, but there will be a few players departing the club over the summer and that will free up some much-needed wages. I will be raiding the bigger clubs in the top division in Denmark and hoping to build a squad for the future.

Off The Pitch

Transfers Out

On June 30th, a mass exodus of players departed the club as I needed to rebuild for another season in 2. Division following our heartbreak on the final day of last season. Some key players need leave, but they did free up some much-needed wages so I could improve the squad. I am sorry to the BK Frem fans and maybe the players who read…IM SORRY for letting them go.

image-44.png?w=862

Another further two departures happened later on in the summer window with Salieu Drammeh and Frederik Malmskov who both played bit parts last season, and both were on non-contract and unfortunately both were not going to feature much in the upcoming season.

michael-cox_-inbox-12.png
michael-cox_-inbox-25.png

Oh, Lukas “In the top” Corner has just left the club as I was writing this blog and went back to Sweden and joined Qviding FIF on a free transfer.

Transfers In

All the players in were free transfers and have been separated into the first team squad and second team respectively for this season coming. However, subject to change during the preseason games,

BK FREM

  • Mads Christiansen (DEF/MID) – Ex-Randers FC – Has the potential to be a key player for the club and will likely be in the starting up for preseason.
  • Simon Sharif (DEF) – Ex-Hillerod FC – Joins from newly relegated side in our division and will be a good back-up in defence as he can play across the back line.
  • Andres Clasen (MID) – Ex-FC København – He could become one a star player in the future.
image-46.png?w=1024
  • Mateo Mejia (FOR) – Ex-Manchester United – Now this is the STAR SIGNING of this window for me and have high hopes for this lad and hoping he will go on and push us to promotion this season.
image-49.png?w=1024
  • Jonathan Mathys (FOR) – Ex-B.93 – One of four players in from a side that won promotion out of our league last season and hoping they can help us in some way shape or form.
  • Andreas Heimer (MID) – Ex-B.93 – As above.
  • Mikkel Mouritz (MID) – Ex-B.93 – As above.
  • Emil Christensen (DEF) – Ex-B.93 – As above. But will be a key member at the heart of our defence.
image-47.png?w=1024
  • Pálmi Rafn Arinbjörnsson (GK) – Ex-Wolves – Released by the Dingles and possibly be our first choice GK for the coming season.
image-50.png?w=1024
  • Roni Arabaci (FOR) – Ex-HIK – Will play as 4th choice forward but will get a shot as he has four-star potential.
  • Nicolai Clausen (DEF) – Ex-Hvidovre IF – Could be a key member in defence.
  • Gregers Arndal-Lauritzen (DEF) – Ex-Hillerød – Will partner Christensen in defence.
image-48.png?w=1024

FREM II

  • Gabriel Kehinde Victor (DEF) – Ex-FC Midtjylland – The Nigerian left back will go into the Frem II side until we can get a work permit sorted for him.
  • Jonathan Lind (MID) – Ex-FC Midtjylland – The Danish attacking midfielder goes into the Frem II side for game time.
  • Nicolai Ankerstjerne (DEF) – Ex-AaB – The Danish centre back, I start in the Frem II side but maybe get moved into the first team.
  • Emil Nymann (MID) – Ex-AaB – The Danish attacking midfielder as great potential and maybe another player that will feature during the season.
  • Nikolaj Larsen (DEF) – Ex-AaB – The Danish centre back, another with great potential and like the previous AaB player in, I am not playing a wage for them.

Board Expectations

The only board are only expecting a mid-table finish. Well, for me that’s not good enough, I want to win promotion, either finishing 2nd or winning the league!!

image-45.png?w=1024

Tactic & Best XI

Firstly, the best XI with all the new transfers in over the summer window.

Secondly, the tactic, the formation is still the same as last season, however the one below is the cautious version which I have now dropped the DLP in the defend role and I will be adding shoot on sight in the instructions. The other version will not have shoot on sight, the DLP will also be on defend and I’ll have a mentality of balance in our play. Let’s see if these little changes make a big different and we get promoted.

boldklubben-frem_-overview-2.png
boldklubben-frem_-overview.png

On The Pitch

Preseason

The preseason was successful with new forward Mateo Mejia scoring seven goals in four games and that was including two hat-tricks. We played four similar sides to us and managed to win three (5-2, 5-3, 3-0) and drew once (4-4). Apologies, as I didn’t want to go to much in depth in preseason. But it ended well enough.

Last episode: The Kings of København (6)

On The Pitch

2. Division Preliminary Phase

August 2023

What a first game of the season with 11 goals being scored in a match that could have gone any away, but we managed to come on top winning the match 6-5 against Young Boys FD. The very talented Mr Mateo Mejia scored a hat-trick on his debut, and it was a perfect hat-trick not because he scored left, right and header just cuz he found the net with his three shots. There was also debut goals by Marinus Due Grandt and Andreas Heimer before Johannes Houborg sealed the win. Mateo Mejia scored again in the following match in the 3-0 win over AB, he only managed to score one goal this time with Jonathan Mathys and Andreas Clasen chipping in with the other two goals.

Matchday three was a different story as we were shocked, rocked and in a game which on paper should have won but deserved to lose because we couldn’t hit a bloody barn door in. It ended 1-0 to Thisted FC.

image-54.png?w=1024

September 2023

However, back to winning ways against Skive IK, who were reduced to ten men. We hadn’t scored before the sending which helped to be fair as we scored all our goals in the last 20 minutes of the game. Aleksandar Lazarevic, Johannes Houborg with Arndal-Lauritzen and Emil Christensen getting their first goals for the club in the 4-0 win. Centre back Emil Christensen added to his tally by adding another two goals in the 6-1 win over Hillerod. Houborg, Bonde, Arabaci and Mejia with the other goals. We make it three wins in a row with victory over FC Roskilde, Roni Arabaci and Johannes Houborg with the match winning goals.

@TractionFM, will be happy as his Aarhus Fremad side beat us 2-1 which we had taken an early lead but just couldn’t hold and ended up losing in the last 10 minutes of the match. Andreas Clasen got his second goal of the campaign in this defeat.

We took our chances against Brabrand IF by beating them 4-1 as we maintained our 2nd place position in the league, thanks to a penalty by Rasmus Gronne and Johannes Houborg make it 2-0 before the break. They did reply but then goals by Lazarevic and Lind sealed the win.

image-53.png?w=1024

October 2023

Vanlose came to Valby Stadion in good form, however our form was better in this game as we came from behind by scoring two late goals to seal all three points in the 2-1 win. Mateo Mejia and Lucas Lodberg were on hand to score the goals. Our first draw of the league campaign was against Esbjerg fB, this time both teams couldn’t it the barn door in the 0-0 result.

Næstved, who were newly promoted last season and have spent most of this season in 1st place. I thought this fixture would have been my toughest one yet of the season, however Mateo Mejia sent us to the top of the league as we hit the former league leaders for six. Yes, we beat them 6-1, a brace from Mejia before goals from the likes of Clasen, Houborg, Mouritz (1st goal for the club) & Emil Nymann. Their goal came from Ex-West Brom player Kenneth Zohore.

We remain top of the league in our last game of this update by winning 2-0 against Young Boys FD. This time it was Mathias Bonde from the spot before Mejia again sealed the win.

image-52.png?w=1024

League Table

Will might get a nosebleed being this high up in the league table but let’s hope we can maintain our good run of form following the winter break and in the final eight games of this stage.

image-51.png?w=1024

Sydbank Pokalen

We bow out of the cup competition in the second round for the second season running. We beat B.93 2-0, thanks to goals from Jonathan Mathys and Mathias Bonde before losing to Hvidovre IF 1-0. Might next season we can make it three in a row, lol.

image-55.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

We are on course in the wage budget and the board are satisfied with the club’s growth. It is also nice to see two thumbs up in the current season’s plans.

image-56.png?w=1024

The feedback from the board and fans is nice to see too.

Final Words

Buzzing to end this blog in 1st place in the league, let’s hope we don’t start to crumble after the winter break and maybe next season we can get passed the 2nd round of the cup competition.

Off The Pitch

Transfers Out

Christian Bramsborg, Rasmus Gronne & Marinus Due Grandt decided to leave the club during the winter break on free transfer. The likes of Gronne and Due Grandt did not want to extend their contracts even though both were getting game time during the season, however Bramsborg wasn’t so I get why he left. Who’s going to take my penalties from now on, now Gronne has left.

So, this happened too…

The Swedish side Djurgårdens IF Fotboll came in for my top goalscorer and the chairperson accepts the bid, yes, I did protest against it but basically got told to do one, lol. However, the Swedish side are letting me loan Mateo Mejia back for the rest of the season, so thank you.

michael-cox_-inbox-22-1.png

Transfers In

I did tip my toes into the free transfer market again and brought in three new faces.

Mads Christiansen (CB), Christian Kudsk (MID) & William Sundby Lunde (MID) – Who all have the potential to become a leading NordicBet Liga players. The league above us, so let’s hope they can help me get promotion this season.

Return of a KING

The man I replaced as manager at the start of this series and a real fan favourite as returned. Welcome back, Mr Henriksen as my new assistant manager.

image-62.png?w=1024

Offered a job interview

I got my first job offer of this series, well an interview when NordicBet Liga side FC Fredericia came knocking but unfortunately for them this is a one club series at the moment and secondly, they are not a club in the Copenhagen region too as this series is titled The Kings of København.

image-63.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

November 2023

We start and end this month with defeats, but the two matches in-between were comfortable wins for the BK Frem lads. As soon as we are top of the league, we relinquish it by losing to another side gunning for one of two automatic places. Defeat was 1-0 to AB. However, back-to-back home wins helped us maintain second place in the league with wins against Thisted FC 2-0 with goals coming from Gronne penalty and Lazarevic volley and then in the next game, Bonde scored a brace in the 4-1 victory against Hillerod as Clasen Majia with the other two goals.

We got FM’d by Skive IK losing 3-1 and of course they had to be the worst defence in the league and made us look silly. Hopefully, during the winter break the lads come back and hit the ground running…

image-59.png?w=1024

Winter Break Fixtures

There was 93 days between the November 2023 game and February 2024, 2. Division fixture, so we had four friendlies during that time. Unbeaten in the four games against nonleague teams in Denmark.

image-58.png?w=906

February 2023 – April 2023

We definitely hit the ground running following this winter break in our second season with four wins in a row which moved us from 3rd place in the league into 1st place as we looked strong heading toward the promotion phase of the season.

We beat struggling FC Roskilde 3-2, thanks to our late two goal come back with Houborg, Arndal-Lauritzen and Bonde on hand with the goals before beating old foes Aarhus Freman 3-1. This time Emil Christensen, Lucas Lodberg and Johannes Houborg were the goalscorers.

Then, back-to-back 5-1 victories against Brabrand IF and Vanlose IF. Lucas Lodberg scored a brace in both games. Johannes Houborg scored his own brace in the Brabrand IF game before Mathias Bonde finished the scoring off. The other goals in the Vanlose match were scored by Emil Christensen, Johannes Houborg and Jonathan Mathys.

We then go from 1st to 2nd after two defeats in a row. Naestved BK and Esbjerg fB were the two sides that defeated us with the first side who are also pushing for that automatic promotion place.

image-60.png?w=1024

League Table

Only four sides really going into the next phase of the league season and two places to play for. Let’s hope we can be one of them.

image-57.png?w=1024

Final Words

A bit of a poor ending to this one with back-to-back defeats, however we are still in a chance to gain promotion and with their only being five points between 1st to 4th, anything could happen…

Last episode: The Kings of København (8)

On The Pitch

April 2024

We headed into the promotion stage of this season in poor form losing the two previous matches in the preliminary phase and we had to hit the ground and… No, we didn’t! Fact was we got bullied in the first three games of this stage and I was fuming to say the chuffing least FMers. First losing to AB 2-0, and of course they had to the club with the best defensive record in the league at that time too, secondly 3-1 to Esbjerg fB 3-1 with Johannes Houborg getting a goal in the 88th minute and thirdly to Naestved BK 2-1 as we drop into 4th place in the table, what the actual Jeff is going on here. Oh, Roni Arabaci was the goal scoring in that match.

We seriously need to pull our finger out and start getting result or it will be in this league for another season.

image-65.png?w=1024

May 2024

Were the tides changing…

In a seven-goal thriller, we managed to stop our five-game losing streak, the worst losing streak we have had in this series so far as we came out on top by beating Aarhus Fremad 4-3. We were pegged back three times in this match but Clasen’s winner in the 90th minute sealed much needed three points with the other goals coming from Houborg, Bonde and Mejia.

AB away, not problems as we beat them 4-2 and but remained in 4th place and still chasing down that 2nd place in the table. A superb brace from Bonde with Houborg and Mejia chipping in with the other two goals. Won’t lie, but it’s unbelievable as we go on the make it an unbeaten month by beating Thisted FC and Esbjerg fB 3-2 and 2-1 respectively.

Do we dare to dream of promotion?

image-66.png?w=1024

June 2024

We welcome, Aarhus Fremad to the Valby Stadion, and we send them back with nil points by winning the match 2-0 as we move into 2nd place in the league, thanks to goals by Johannes Houborg and William Sundy Lunde.

However, in the last but one game and we got bullied, simple as that. Defeated by Naestved who ended our five-game unbeaten run and as they destroyed us 4-0. I had no answers in this fixture.

Is it going to be Deja vu again for us…

As we headed into the last game of the season, last year we won but failed to get promoted. This season, we BULLIED Thisted FC by winning the match 5-1 with on-loanee Mateo Mejia bagging a brace, Johannes Houborg popping up with another goal this season. Defender Christensen scored with a header before Mathias Bonde thunderous free kick sealed the win but was it enough….

image-67.png?w=1024

YOU BET IT CHUFFING WAS FM FANS…….

Buzzing to say the least, especially after last season’s heartbreak…

image-70.png?w=1024

League Table

We finished the season in 2nd place and get promoted. The fact was we were on level points with 3rd place; however, our goal difference was far better than there. Happy days!!!

Off The Pitch

League Review

For the second season running we were the league’s biggest overachievers.

Last episode: The Kings of København (9) – I got promoted in the last episode & check it out…EPIC…

Off The Pitch

Transfers Out

Another nine player depart the club as we look to bring in players who will help us survive our first season in the NordicBet Liga following our promotion on the final day last season. The likes of Lazarevic, Lykke & Frederiksen I wanted to keep and offered them new contracts, but they didn’t want to sign on for this season. All the best to the nine that left and please do not score again me in the future.

image-77.png?w=857

Two players have departed the club to join Aarhus Fremad on loan. Roni Arabaci (FOR) for 5 months and Sebastian Sorensen (GK) for 11 months. Don’t worry @TractionFM, I will look after your side in my FM series.

michael-cox_-inbox-17.png
michael-cox_-inbox-18.png

Transfers In

Eight new faces join the club during the transfer window. Two of them on loan for the season and the other six players in on free transfers. We still havn’t spent money on a player yet, well we ain’t had any to spend. That doesn’t bother me as long as we can sell players for profit like we did with Mateo Mejia last season.

The players in are;

  • Christian Vestergaard (DEF) – In on a free transfer and was formally of OB.
  • George Lewis (MID) – The Rwandan international was released by Arsenal and looks like he has good potential. I reckon he will make me some money during this season.
  • Kelechukwu Ibe-Torti (MID) – A familiar player as that he joins on loan from a former side that I have managed and blogged on previous FM saves. In from LKS Lodz, He was one of my star players before the chairperson in the save sold him and I was proper gutted.
image-78.png?w=1024
  • Mathias Jensen (FOR) – On loan from Brondby IF for the season and my first newgen player at the club. Will act as back up this season.
  • Mohamed Al-Naser (MID) – Released by Kolding IF.
  • Ramon Ten Hove (GK) – Another player released by Kolding IF.
  • Stipe Juric (FOR) – Released by LKS Lodz at the end of last season and hoping he can do a job for me upfront or at least help out. I don’t know what he is like as he was not on LKS Lodz books when I managed them.#
  • Theo Collomb (FOR) – He crossed the pond from the states and joins us on a free transfer from Vancouver 2. He banged in 20 goals in 32 games last season as hopefully Theo can do the same for us. Another player who will make me money at some point this series.
image-79.png?w=1024

Season Expectations

The board want us to attempt to avoid relegation and the media predict us to be in a relegation battle, I don’t think we will be. I managed to bring in a few good men during the transfer window on our very little wage budget we had. In the cup, they want us to reach the first round, lol we enter in the first round, so that’s a green thumb up anayway but we need to break the second-round curse and get into the third round.

image-75.png?w=1024

As that we got promoted into the NordicBet Liga, one of the rules is that the ground as to have undersoil heating installed. I actually thought they did, lol.

image-74.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

Preseason

Five preseason games played, and we won two against similar clubs but lost two and drew one against sides that we are facing in the NordicBet Liga this season coming. Is this a sign for things to come or are we going to do better than expected??

image-72.png?w=1024

July 2024 – August 2024

On 26th July, we played our first game of the new season away from home and we were beaten by a better side (Lyngby BK), but it was only by a goal to nil. There were some positives from the game but let’s hope it gives us the kick that we need.

Our first home game at the Valby Stadion and we emerged victorious against a determined Nykøbing FC. The raced to a two nil lead but just before halftime we had reduced that by a goal thanks to Lucas Lodberg finish. A few changes made at halftime, the odd stern word and the boys delivered scoring three goals in 23 minutes as we won the match 4-2. Lucas Lodberg got his second of the game before Mikkel Mouritz and Stipe Juric sealed the win.

We met Ledøje-Smørum Fodbold in the first round of the Sydbank Pokalen and went through thanks to a superb brace by Theo Collomb in his first start for the club and Mathias Bonde from the penalty to send us through into the second round. The did score late on but it wasn’t enough time for them to get back into it. A nice 3-1 win but now we are into the second round, can we finally beat this curse and actually win the next game in the competition after failing to reach the third round in the last two seasons.

We continue our unbeaten run in the league by drawing the next two games with the same score line 1-1 against Næstved Boldklub and AC Horsens. Stipe Juric got our goal in the first draw and Johannes Houborg was on hand to score in the other draw game.

We moved into 4th place in the league following a 2-1 win over HB Køge as we are playing above expectations this season already, even though it’s still early days, I do think we are good enough to stay in this league. A brace by Johannes Houborg was enough to seal the three points today.

image-73.png?w=1024

League Table

Into 4th place in the league, still early days but I think we can survive the drop in our first season in the NordicBet Liga.

Last episode: The Kings of København (10)

On The Pitch

Sept 2024 – Dec 2024

Johannes Houborg played his part as super-sub as we came back from behind to rescue a point in 2-2 draw against a weak FC Fredericia side, who offered me a job as manager in season two.

We enter the second round of the Sydbank Pokalen, a cup competition that in the previous two season we have gone out at but this time we hit Skovshoved for six and win the game 6-1 to break that curse we had. Johannes Houborg was at it again getting himself on the score sheet but this time banging in four out of the six goals with Stipe Juric getting the other two goals in this game.

On a wet afternoon at the Valby Stadion, we welcomed Vendsyssel FF and sent them packing with no points after coming from behind to win 2-1 with forwards Juric and Houborg on hand with the goals.

The final two games of the month September didn’t go in our favourite as that we were bullied in the 5-3 defeat to SonderjyskE and defeated by a goal to nil by B.93 as we dropped into 7th place in the table and out of the promotion stage places for the first time this season. We did, however start of October month with a victory against FC Helsingor away from home thanks to goals by Juric and on loanee Mathias Jensen.

However, what followed was a four-game losing streak as we were completely bullied in these games and I start to worry, are we good enough to stay in this league or we destined to have this relegation battle that the media predicted at the start of the season? Only three of them defeats were in the league losing out to the likes of Fremad Amager (2-3 – Lodberg, Collomb), Nykobing FC (2-4 – Houborg 2) and Lyngby BK (1-3 – Jensen).

The other defeat was in third round of the Sydbank Pokalen as we faced FC Nordsjælland and the lads did me and the fans proud as we took them all the way the 90 minutes and the nine-goal thriller and narrowly losing out 5-4 on the day. Houborg, Bonde, Jensen and Lodberg chipped in with the goals.

image-82.png?w=1024

We are back to winning ways and ending that four-game losing form by beating Næstved Boldklub 2-0 with Jensen and Vestergaard with the goals.

But the wining form did last long as we lose the next three games in a row and two of them by massive score lines too as we got BULLIED BIG TIME, losing 2-5 HB Koge and 0-5 AC Horsens and then to top it off by losing to bottom of the league one nil to FC Fredericia as we drop to 9th in the league.

image-80.png?w=1024

League Table

A bad run of form as seen us drop down the table into the relegation stage of the season with five games to go. On the bright side we are only three points from the promotion stage places but we are not getting promotion as we are 22 and 15 points behind 1st and 2nd place respectively.

image-81.png?w=1024

But I am not yet finished with this blog…

Winter Break Preseason

I had to try something new during preseason and started to use a new formation and in the six preseason games we had won three and drew three and I thought I was on to a winner playing a variety of different sides to see if the formation would work against good or bad sides.

image-83.png?w=1024

February 2025 – March 2025

FFS…

The remaining five games in the NordicBet Liga preliminary phase, only one game I just won 1-0 against B.93. The other four games I got absolutely BULLIED in and I won’t lie, GUTTED… The formation I used in preseason lasted two games, well a game and a half. I had lost the first game against Vendsyssel FF 1-3 but in the match against SonderjyskE we were losing 1-6 at half-time, so I reverted back to my previous formation which help-ish, lol but still ended in a 3-7 defeat.

Last two game were defeats by the same score-line 0-3 to FC Helsingor and Fremad Amager. Them defeats condemned us to the relegation phase for the next part of the season.

image-84.png?w=1024

Updated League Table

So, we finished in 10th place in the league. This is the first time for me going into the relegation phase next. Basically, just don’t finish in the bottom two places and survive for next season.

image-85.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

A former Dutch International has joined the coaching staff, Welcome Arjen Robben and that’s it for off the pitch news as it’s all about on the pitch!!

image-86.png?w=1024

Final Words

I am going to try something different in the relegation phase and try out another tactic and it will be this one by DalyFM…Whats the worst that can happen to me??

Last episode: The Kings of København (11)

On The Pitch

April 2025 – May 2025

So, then FM fans, the preliminary phase of the NordicBet has now finished and we find ourselves in the relegation phase of the season for the first time as the last two season’s we were in the promotion phase in the league below. I have to admit we have been very poor this season. Could be three things, I am out my depth in this league, need to change my formation or rebuild the squad as some players might not be good enough for this tier of Danish football. Let’s hope I can beat the drop and prove that we belong in this league.

I start this phase off with a valuable win over FC Fredericia 2-1, thanks to our outgoing forward Theo Collomb, as he played his part as super sub by coming off the bench at halftime to score one and setting up Andreas Clasen to score the winner to give us all three points which were much needed. The young French forward will be joining U.S. side Richmond on a free at the end of the season. But, as soon as we win, we lose by the same score line, but this time to HB Koge 2-1 with Amine Lachkar getting his first goal of the season in this defeat with a bullet header.

We get pegged back late on to share the points against old foes B.93 in the 1-1 draw with Mohamed Al-Naser on target for us lead early on, but we had to settle for the point as they scored in the 91st minute.

Goals galore in the next match as both teams could not stop scoring in the second half as both sides were trying to keep our survival hopes alive and both sides had to settle for the point with the match ending 3-3, we did however come back from behind twice and then lead late on but a mistake at the back cost us the win. Theo Collomb brace and Lucas Lodberg scoring the goals in that draw.

Defeat by bottom of the league Næstved Boldklub 0-2 and not what we needed.

But on a cold, wet afternoon in April, Al-Naser and Stipe Juric, another player that has decided to leave us at the end of the season and heading back to his native country of Bosnia. Oh, by the way, there is a pattern happening at the club at the moment with a lot of players unwilling to sign new contracts and departing the club because they think it’s a sinking ship, HA, will I have the last laugh. Anyway, back to the game, I was covering, oh yeah, we won 2-1 against FC Fredericia.

Bullied (my favour FM23 word) by HB Koge and lost 1-4 with on-loanee Mathias Jensen with our only goal of the game.

image-1.png?w=1024

First landmark, 100 games in charge at BK Frem as yes, it ended in a 2-3 defeat by Nykobing FC. Of course, it did but at least we scored in the match.

However, my 101st game in charge and of course there had to final game of the season drama. The previous two seasons, there was promotion drama, as we failed to win promotion on the last day in season one, but we won promotion in season two on the final day and season three (this season) it all comes down to 10th place and 11th place and whoever wins stays up…

YES!!!! We win 1-0, thanks to Kudsk 38th minute strike to win us the match 1-0 against B.93.

League Table

We exceeded expectations this season as we had up and down season which saw us flirt with relegation, at one point finding ourselves in 11th place. However, our good form at the start of the season helped us out and we ended the season in 10th and survived by one point.

image.png?w=1024

Final Words

Survival on the last day of the season which I am buzzing and also earlier on in the season we broke our curse and got past the second round in the cup competition.

However, a massive rebuild of the squad is needed for next season as a lot of players wanted to jump ship near the end and did not want to renew contracts so bye bye, I had the last laugh because we beaten the drop.

Also, new formation is a must too.

Season Expectations

The board want us to avoid relegation and the media also predicted us to be in a relegation battle this season, but I don’t think we will be this season as I have managed to bring in a few good men during the transfer window. In the cup, they want us to reach the first round, lol we enter in the first round, so that’s a green thumb up anyway and let’s see how far we can go after exiting in this competition in the 2nd, 2nd & 3rd rounds respectively in the last three seasons.

image-3.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

July 2025 – August 2025

NordicBet Liga Preliminary Phase

First game of the season was away from home against FC Frediricia with three different players getting goals on their debuts for the club in the 3-0 win. Kelechukwu Ibe-Torti who was on loan from LKS Lodz signed a permanent deal on a free and also Mario Bilate and Jesper Grundt both signing in the summer on frees. We made it back-to-back league wins by beating Kolding IF 2-0. Vincent Marchetti scored from the spot, sending the goalie the wrong way before Eirik Saunes bullet header sealed the win

We were simply outclassed by Vejle BK who won the fixture by a one goal to nil.

Kelechukwu Ibe-Torti scored one and assisted in another as we beat Vendsyssel FF 3-2 with the final goal coming in the 88th when we put their defender under pressure and put it past his own goalkeeper to give us the valuable three points. We faced an inform Fremad Amager at the wrong time and we were put to the sword and lost the match 2-1 and we drop down into 6th place in the league. Former Sunderland youth player Benjamin Mbunga Kimpioka scored twice in the 2-1 win over HB Koge.

Sydbank Pokalen

We enter the first round of this year’s competition and last season managed to get into the third round at the third attempt and hoping we can get into at least the third round this year, and we did progress into the second round having beaten a youthful Avedore IF 4-1. New signing Lirim Qamili scored his first hat-trick for the club in this match before Amine Lachkar sealed the win, who in fact as recently changed his international nation from Dutch to Moroccan in the hope of international and wish him luck too.

image-2.png?w=1024

Final Words

A decent start in season four but can we maintain this form and hopefully push into the promotion phase this season and not in the relegation phase like last season.

Last episode: The Kings of København (13)

On The Pitch

September 2025 – December 2025

So, we start the month of September in the NordicBet Liga against FC Helsingor with both teams serving up a game to remember as we came out on top in a 6-4 goal-fest win. Mario Bilate smashed in four goals for us in this game with Fredrik Carlsen and Kelechukwu Ibe-Torti chipping in with a goal apiece and to make things sweeter was that we were three nil down at half-time and with a bottle or two thrown around and five changes sorted it right out. We have a break from league football to face Holbæk B&I in the second-round tie in the Sydbank Pokalen and it was six of the best against them with the game ending 6-1 and yet again Mario Bilate bagging four goals in this game, that’s eight goals in two matches for the 33-year-old forward and Qamili and Ibe-Torti with the other two goals.

We return back to league action only to lose 2-0 to Hobro IK, however we were back to winning ways at the Valby Stadion beating Nykøbing FC 2-1 with Bilate and Ibe-Torti on the scoresheet to put us into 3rd place in the league.

Not a great start to the month of October in the league losing out to AC Horsens 2-3 with their forward bagging a hat-trick against us in a game we should have won but didn’t, simple as that. We welcomed Esbjerg fB to Valby Stadion and sent them back with no points having beaten them 2-0, thanks to Oussama Alou scoring his first goal for the club and yes that man again Mario Bilate scored the second and sealed the win.

Revenge is sweet as we beat Hobro IK in the third round of the Sydbank Pokalen as that win means we go into the fourth round of this competition for the first time in this series thanks to Mario Bilate only goal of the game in the 1-0 victory. Magnus Hauser and Mario Bilate both scored braces in the 4-1 win over Kolding IF.

Welcome to November they say, back-to-back defeats I say, losing out to FC Fredericia 0-1 and Vejle BK 0-3, with the latter side being top of the league as we drop down into fifth place in the league. We then manage to stop the rot in the next game and a Oussama Alou goal rescued a point in the 1-1 draw as we slip into sixth place in the league.

We face top division side AGF in the fourth round of the Sydbank Pokalen in a match that I thought would have been our last one in this season’s competition but Claus Fæster and Gregers Arndal-Lauritzen scored for the Frem lads to win the match 2-0 as we head into the QFs to face OB. The final game of the month saw us lose 1-2 against HB Koge with Alou grabbing our only goal of this match,

The final league game before the winter break saw us finish with a 2-2 draw with FC Helsingor with Ibe-Torti and Bilate getting the goals to rescue a point late on in the match.

image-4.png?w=1024

NordicBet Liga Table

We go into the winter break with only five games remaining in this preliminary phase of the season and just outside the promotion phase in 7th place and only three points off 6th.

image-5.png?w=1024

Final Words

We are doing ok with the league and hoping to sneak into the promotion phase, but I am still dreaming lol. However, I am BUZZING that we were in the QFs in the cup and hoping we can go all the way into the final.

Last episode: The Kings of København (14)

On The Pitch

February 2026 – March 2026

We return after the winter break and headed into our first home league game in the NordicBet preliminary phase and we had to rely on our super sub Jesper Grundt to rescue us a point in the dying minutes of the game against Fremad Amager in the 1-1 draw but then in the next game we suffered a surprise defeat to one of the leagues worst defences in Hobro IK, losing the fixture 3-1. Which there were a few water bottles thrown!!

We head into the 1st leg of the QF tie against OB in Sydbank Pokalen and somehow managed to get 2-2 draw with only having 10-men for like 60+ minutes of the game. Eirik Saunes saw red for a naughty tackle but goals from Ibe-Torti and De Vries kept us in the tie and with a chance of getting into the SFs. We return to league action and beat AC Horsens with Ibe-Torti dazzling run and chipping the rushing goalie before Fredrik Carlsen sealing the three points in the 2-0 win.

So the QF 2nd leg comes around pretty quickly following the last league game and unfortunately we bow out suffering a 2-1 defeat on the night, meaning we lose the tie 4-3 on aggregate. But, to be honest with you guts, it was a great run and the farthest I have been in four seasons with BK Frem.

image-9.png?w=889

So, after cup defeat, we lose the very next match 2-1 against Nykobing FC. However in the final game of this phase we run out 3-1 winners against Esbjerg fB 3-1 with goals from Sari, Joachims and OG and win that win meant we…

NordicBet Liga Preliminary Phase Table

We pip HB Koge on goal difference on the last game of the season to finish the season above them in the final spot for the promotion phase. Which to be honest with you we are 13 points behind 2nd place.

image-7.png?w=1024

April 2026- May 2026

Not the best of starts, yeah CoxieFM….Three defeats in a row and all by the same score-line as we start this promotion stage off on the wrong foot and clearly there is no chances of us going up this season. In matchday four, we get a cheeky 1-0 win over Vendsyssel FF, who were later on crowned champions of the NordicBet Liga but at least we can say we beat them at this point thanks to Sari penalty before again losing this time to FC Helsingor 3-1.

We then go on the draw three games in a row before beating AC Horsens 3-0. On the final day of the season we lose 2-1 to Vejle BK who finished 2nd in the league and took the final promotion place in the league.

image-10.png?w=1024

NordicBet Liga Promotion Stage Table

We finish the season in 6th place in the league and fairly happy that we weren’t in the relegation phase this season.

Final Words

End of season four and to be honest our cup form was excellent but our league form was ok and I think if we want to get promoted sooner rather than later we need to rebuild and another new tactic is in order and going to use this one by….

Off The Pitch

Transfer News

Outs

Around 21 players across the first team and youth setup have departed us over the summer with Oussama Alou leaving us for fellow league rivals AC Horsens for a new transfer out fee of £57K. Jesper Grundt and Anders Ovli also departed us with fees of £1.5K and £120 respectively and one player left on loan for a total fee of £4,1K making the club roughly around £63K. There were 14 players left on a free and the other four were loans with no fees.

Ins

For the first time in five seasons, I spent some monies….A massive £15K on a DLP Javier Arribas, who popped up on my DoF page as that I needed someone who could be a job in that part of the pitch. We also managed another 14 players in this window but here are some of the key players to watch out for this season coming…

  • Joey De Ruijter – Former Ajax youth and Filipino international.
  • Bayron Strijdonck – Former Juventus and AZ youth player.
  • Ole Magne Austbo Seth – (newgen) who is on loan for six months from Kristiansand 2 with 18 finishing.

Board Expectations

I reckon mid-table finish is on the card this season as the last two seasons in this league have had us down as relegation battles. But could we do one better and push for one of the two promotion places?

image-15.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

July 2026 – October 2026

Preseason

Preseason was victorious with three wins out of three games against different levels of opponents in the Danish footballing tier, scoring 13 times and only conceding 3 in return.

Goal scorers: Seth x5,Garcia x4 and Lachkar, Safsten, Azemi, Alou getting a goal a piece.

NordicBet Liga

We get off to a flyer in the league by winning the first three games beating rivals Fremad Amager 2-1 (Nianankoro Doumbia & Andreas Garcia), then smashing Hobro IK 4-0 (Fitim Azemi hattrick & Sanders Ngabo) and then ran out 3-1 winners over AC Horsens (Mathijs Tielemans, Fitim Azemi & Julian Kwaaitall). I amazed with this start to the league campaign and could it be the start of a promotion this season?

Then, the honeymoon period was soon over in matchday four losing 2-0 to Lyngby BK. But, Ole Magne Austbo Seth bagged a brace with veteran Azemi and Garcia scoring in the 4-1 win over Nykobing FC who were at the time the league worst defences and we put them to the sword which I was happy with. My good friend who manages (Aarhus Fremad) on his own save will be happy as his side managed to rescue a point against us in the 1-1 draw following their promotion last season into this league.

The next five games we us extend our unbeaten run to seven games and the best start to a season we have had in this series of far. We won four of them against FC Fredericia 4-3 (Arribas, Garcia x2, Mignani), HB Koge 2-1 (Kwaaitaal & Azemi), FC Helsingor 1-0 (Strijdonck) & SonderjyskE 1-0 (Kwaaitaal) before drawing against Thisted FC 2-2 (Lachkar & Azemi).

However, we remained first in the league still after losing to Fremad Amager 1-0.

Sydbank Pokalen

We bowed out in this season’s competition to the current Kings of København, FC København in the third round following a 3-2 defeat. It wasn’t a game that was one sided which I did think it would be before the kick off, however we took the lead via a Garcia goal but then they were in front just before half-time. We did score soon after the restart, thanks to a Seth wonders strike but in the 88th minute they scored to win the tie. But before we got there, we had won both previous rounds with ease.

There were only 340 fans to witness the 7-2 win over Birkerod in the first round with Ole Magne Austbo Seth scoring four of the seven goals for us. Bayron Strijdonck, Mathijs Tielemans and an OG were the other goals in that match. A massive 943 fans turned up and saw us beat B.1908 4-1 with attacking midfielder Javier Arribas scoring first, before Amine Lachkar made it two before the break. Following the restart goals by Mathijs Tielemans and Ole Magne Austbo Seth sealed the win.

NordicBet Liga Preliminary Phase

Our great form sees us at the top of the league for the first time in three seasons in this league. Buzzing to say the lest and hoping the run can continue in the next few games before the winter break.

Last episode: The Kings of København (16)

On The Pitch

November – December 2026

So, having been knocked out of this season’s cup competition last month, means its all about the league from now FM fans. First off, Hobro IK away is always an interesting matchup because it’s gone either way in previous encounters, however this time the points were shared in a 1-1 with Nianankoro Doumbia rescuing the point late on for us. On a Baltic day in Denmark just like the ones we are having lately in the UK, we traveled away from home to face an inform Lyngby BK side, however we managed to have the last laugh by beating them 3-2 with goals from Kwaaitaal brace and Seth to seal the win, but we were reduced to 10 men in this match with Arribas late timed tackle meant he could get into the sauna before anyone else, I know your game matey. We also drew against AC Horsens 2-2, which was actually the first game of the blog but I forgot lol.

We go top of the league once again, thanks to two goals from Ole Magne Austbo Seth, with the on-loanee soon to be returning to his parent club in the near term. So, hope we can find someone to help bang in the goals when he has gone because his current club won’t let us extend his loan. Anyway, Garcia brace and Ngabo were the other scoring in the 5-0 win over Nykobing FC. Our final game before the winter break was against Aarhus Fremad and it ended 0-0.

Winter Break

There like a 70 day period were there is no games played, so around the 50-55 day mark we played the first of three winter break preseason games and we won all three beating the likes of FA 2000 3-1, Dalum IF 5-0 and Brabrand 3-1.

February – March 2027

A trip to FC Fridericia saw us run out 2-1 winners meant we kept you the unbeaten run after the winter break and maintain that 1st place in the league with goals coming from newly signed on-loanee Robin van Duiven and veteran Fitim Azemi. A five star performance some say in the 5-0 victory over newly promoted Thisted FC with record signing of £15K Spanish midfielder Javier Arribas and another on-loanee Evani Ghiraw bagged a brace in this game too.

Our unbeaten run of seven games came to an end following the 2-0 defeat to HB Koge.

However, back to back wins after that defeat meant we finish this stage of the league season in 1st place…We beat FC Helsingor 4-3 and SonderjyskE 3-2. Both matches we have to come back from behind in and we won both of them in the dying minutes of the matches.

image-17.png?w=1024

NordicBet Liga Preliminary Phase

So, 22 games played and we are top of the league and we qualify for the promotion phase of the season in good form and with a good chance of winning promotion this season. But all can change in the next 12 games.

image-18.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

Board

Always happy to make sure the board are on my side with little wins like below and three seasons ahead of schedule too is a bonus.

image-19.png?w=1024

Head Hunted

So, I have been head hunted say three times so far before this season started by Danish clubs with one once in my own league, one in the league below and then the other above which I was flattered however this is a one club save.

During the winter break I was head hunted by two top tier Danish side and then I had four clubs from foreign nations come in for me. I did attend the Sc Heerenveen as they were the first club outside of Denmark to offer me a job, so I did take the interview but got someone else in. This is a one club was so the rest did get declined but it was nice to attend the De Superfriezen job.

But I hear someone cry out COXIEFM what would have happened if they had offered you at job…Well, I would have been like NEO in the matrix with the blue and red pill. Of course I would have carried on with this series regardless as this is my main save for FM23, but I would have taken the job offer and kept it in the background if I ever wanted to rewind and used it as a turning point into a journeyman series.

Transfers

Out’s

Two of my star players will be leaving at the end of the season as they did not want to extened their stay with us in this promotion chasing season. First, was Amine Lachkar who came in on a free transfer and has played a key role in the last couple of seasons for us and will be joining Italian club Reggina on free and second was our record signing, who out of the blue is also leaving on a free and joining Swedish side IFK. Gutted about both players to be fair but lets hope before they leave they can help us win promotion to the top tier of Danish football.

michael-cox_-inbox-31.png

Final Words

Well happy that we have got to this point and we are top of the league, however we now go into the 12 most important games of the season and fingers crossed we can make it into the promise land of the top tier of Danish football…

On The Pitch

April – May 2027

NordicBet Liga Promotion Stage

Having secured our place for the promotion stage with a few games to go in the preliminary phase and then to top of the league gives us a massive opportunity to win or even finish in second place for a chance to reach the promise land of the Danish top tier called 3F Superliga

There are three clubs really in the running out of the six in this promotion stage with one of them being us with the other two being FC Fredericia and Lyngby BK, so these next ten games are the most important games of this series…

The first game didn’t go our way as we travelled to SonderjyskE and they came out on top in a goal extravaganza as both teams neither concentrating on defence, as the goals flowed freely at both ends and the only people who seemed to enjoy it was the fans as I looked over to the other manager as we both laughed and shook our heads. We had beaten them twice in the league before this fixture and I did think we would win again but they won the match 4-3. The next game was against one of our main rivals in the promotion push and the match ended in a 1-1 draw against FC Fredericia as Mathijs Tielemans getting the leveler late on to give us a point. No win in the first three games as we lost ground in the race for automatic promotion after a 4-2 defeat to HB Koge and drop into 3rd place in the table. Our goals came from Lachkar and van Duiven with they were in vein in the defeat.

So, after having a team meeting and told them the truth as I didn’t want this season to be known as “Bottle Job Season”, they soon reacted as we beat rivals Lyngby BK 3-1, who at that time of the match sat in 1st place as we moved into 2nd place, thanks to Kwaaitaal, van Duiven and Brandes to keep that promotion dream alive, Inform on-loanee advance forward van Duiven again on the score sheet in the cheeky 1-0 win over SonderjyskE to send us back to the top of the league before making it three wins in a row against FC Helsingor 2-1.

Hold the door, FC Fredericia ended our winning streak by beating us in the next game 4-3 as they move into the NordicBet Liga promotion places in 2nd place, the defeat meant we remained in 1st place with three games to go…Arribas and a brace by Kwaaitaal wasn’t enough to get anything out of that game.

Promotion is in our own hands now as we beat fellow promotion chasing Lyngby BK 2-0 as we thank our midfield who showed the other how to score as Lyngby missed a penalty in the first half. Yes, our goals came in the second half as a ran five changed at the break and Doumbia and Brandes scoring our goals having come off the bench.

On a cold wet afternoon at the Valby Stadion in front of 1,211 fans, BK FREM celebrated clinching the NordicBet Liga title. COME ONNNNNNNNNNNNNN THE LADS!!!! As we beat HB Koge 2-0 with goals coming from Ghiraw and Strijdonck, I didn’t pay much attention to the other games but I should have done as that both FC Fredericia and Lyngby BK both lost meaning we won promotion at the third time of asking with one game to go.

image-24.png?w=905

The last game of the season, we faced FC Helsingor and we beat them 3-2.

image-23.png?w=1024

NordicBet Liga Promotion Stage

Not only did win win promotion to the 3F Superliga, I actually won my first league title of the series. We finished in 1st place and seven points ahead of 2nd place FC Fredericia. Roll on next season as we now get the opportunity to play FC København and hopefully one day that we can become “The Kings of København”…

image-21.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

Always nice to see as ex-BK Frem player and fan favourite Soren Krogh singing my praises.

image-25.png?w=1024

The budget is in and wow that is massive for next season…Well, maybe, now it depends on what sort of players we can get into the club over the summer to strengthen as we are losing a few key players at the end of this campaign.

image-22.png?w=1024

The supporters update. Some of the hardcore and gone but an increase of casual fans. I will probably say it’s the bigger club fans going to watch a smaller club play. Like I am a Walsall fan as I know sometimes when them so called big clubs around us like Wolves, Villa and WBA play away, there fans come and watch us from time to time to see how we are getting on.

I am over the moon that we have managed to secure promotion into the top flight of Danish football. My first job is to make sure we bring in the right players so we can survive our first season and then build on from there. I know it will be tough but I have faith.

Last episode: The Kings of København (18)

On The Pitch

July – September 2027

3F Superliga

Our first game of the season, first time with VAR and VAR can do one already as we lose 3-2 to FC Fredericia the other club that got promoted with us last season as Tom Lacoux and Mathijs Tielemans got our goals but Tommaso Scarpellini on his debut got send off within the first 20 minutes of this fixture. We faced Brondby IF in the next game and I was not expecting us to even get a point but to get three points, wow, what an amazing result with us beating them 3-1 in front of our fans at the Valby Stadion with Kristensen, Berg and Kwaaitaal with our goals.

We somehow go top of the league for a very short spell after drawing against OB 1-1 as Kwaaitaal scoring our only goal of the game. I did say it was a short spell at the top of the Christmas tree, lol (I meant, 3F Superliga) as we drop to 11th following back-to-back defeats to FC Nordsjælland 2-3 (Kristensen and Kwaaitaal) and Randers FC 3-0.

We then stopped the losing streak of two games in a row, by going three games unbeaten in the league and picking up key draws against teams that I would have said we were likely to lose too. However, we drew against FC Midtjylland 2-2 which we did come back from two nil down to rescue the point with goals from Diawara Bakary and Nicklas Berg before an even more surprising 1-1 draw against FC København which we took an early lead but couldn’t hold on to all three points with Kristensen with our goal. Good old lady luck was on our side as we beat Viborg FF 1-0, thanks to Kristensen again.

The remaining three games saw us lose 0-1 AaB, draw again 2-2 against FC København before ending this update with a cheeky 1-0 win over Silkeborg IF which moved us into 6th place in the league table.

image-33.png?w=1024

3F Superliga League Table

It’s been a rollercoaster of games in the first half of this part of the season but we have managed to somehow get ourselves into 6th place in the league. We are somewhat off the pace of FC København in 1st place, however if the season ended now I’d be pleased. But, a couple of defeats in the next period of games could see us slip down the table though.

image-28.png?w=1024

Sydbank Pokalen

image-34.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

Following our promotion into the top flight, I was originally on about £375 per week as the manager and BK Frem offered me a whopping £1.7K new deal, however I wanted to reduced it down to £1K instead and extend the contract for another year. They didn’t even have a deal if we got relegated that I would take a pay cut, so I told them I’d happily take a 35% if we did…

image-32.png?w=1024

Final Words

An up and down start to the season like a rollercoaster but lets hope we can at least finish and not having to battle for survival. Also, the blog is a little short but I am/was away with the family on holiday at the time, lol.

On The Pitch

October – November 2027

3F Superliga Preliminary Round

Three goals from on-loanee Robin van Duiven and a goal from Marius Lundemo ensured BK Frem move into contention for an Europa Conference League qualification following a 4-1 victory a 4-1 over AGF on a fine afternoon away from home. Dreaming of Europe in my first season in the 3F Superliga? Behave yourself CoxieFM, you say! As we move to the dizzy heights of 3rd place in the league as we go on to make it four wins in a row in the following fixtures against FC Fredericia 2-1 (Julian Kwaaitaal & Nicklas Berg) with VAR being our best friend in this game ruling out an equalizer in the dying minutes of this game. It was a goal-fest at the Valby Stadion with over 2,400 fans saw us run out 4-3 winners against Silkeborg IF with that man again getting another hat-trick Robin van Duiven and Marius Lundemo getting the all important fourth to seal the win. We battled bravely and pick up and well deserved 1-0 victory over Viborg FF as Kasper Hogh scored from the spot, thanks to VAR.

We drop down a place in the league to 4th following back-to-back defeats to FC Midtjylland 3-2 (Tom Lacoux & Kasper Hogh) and Brondby IF 2-1 (Robin van Duiven). They may have been defeats but they were only by one goal and we were unlucky in both games not to get a point or even more. Maybe, with a few more decent players come into the club in the future once the financials improve, I think these teams we can brush aside but for now, lets keep battling.

Sydbank Pokalen

Kasper Hogh played his part as super-sub as we came from behind to defeat B.93 3-2 away from home in the third round. Segundo Volente Dario Baldi got us going early on, but then we were soon behind before half-time. A quick few changes, well about five and Hogh set-up Nicklas Berg and then he scored the winner himself in the 78th minute.

However, our cup dream was ended for another season as we were truly well beaten by AaB 4-1, with on-loanee Robin van Duiven getting the only goal. Now, with us out the cup, we can try and push on up the league for the remaining fixtures of the season, well this phase of the season.

image-36.png?w=1024

3F Superliga League Table

We have moved and remained our place in the preliminary phase with five games to play for after the winter break for a chance to get into championship group phase of this season’s league competition. Once the table splits, if we finish sixth then our prize money roughly £1m. But, if we finish in 5th and higher, the money if better but not much but the opportunity of European football is up for grabs.

image-35.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

January – March 2028

Following on from the last update, we headed into a winter break which lasted about 80ish days..I was shocked to learn that the board announced our intends for the winter preseason fixtures? We are heading over to the Algarve, Portugal for three friendly.

Hold the front door please, I was really looking forward to staying at home, chilling out by the log fire and eating snow…

The games were against Portuguese sides Casa Pia, Estoril Praia and Farense which we won all three of them with ease.

Now, with the winter break behind us and back to Denmark looking like the guy off the Tango advert, we return to league action with only five games left of the preliminary phase and in a good position to make it into the championship group stage. However, we didn’t get off to the best of starts in a disappointing collapse to OB, who at the time had the competitions worst defence and of course we had to lose 2-1 to them with inside forward Tommaso Scarpellini getting hist first for the club in this defeat.

Thinking what else could go wrong? Well, in the next game, we were reduced to 10 men before the half hour mark when on-loanee Jonas Engby earned himself an early sauna with the latest of late tackles in the box which they converted the penalty and then not long after that they got another penalty, no red card this time, lol and they went two nil up before the break. However despite being down to 10 men, Tom Lacoux, Bjorn Martin Kristensen and Kasper Hogh rallied together and decided to find the net as we went on to win the tie 3-2 to keep our dreams of Europe alive against FC Nordsjælland.

I have not said this word in a while…..BULLIED!!! Yes, we were and hit for six with no rely in a game I had no control over and shock by this result to be honest, well beaten losing 6-0 to Randers FC.

We faced bottom side AGF and a win would confirm our position in the championship group phase with a game to go, but no, they had other plans and we ran out a 1-1 draw against them with Julien Kwaaitaal scoring in the 90th minute to rescue the point for us.

On 19 March, I celebrated my birthday with a……WIN, Yes lads, best present I could ask for three points and the chance to get into Europe too after beating AaB 4-2 with Kristensen getting a brace and van Duiven and Baldi also finding the net.

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Finished this part of the season in 5th place. Us and the other five clubs will fight it out for the four places for the chance of European football. Let the 10 games begin…

And that game ended in a 1-1 draw with Brondby IF with Tom Lacoux with our only goal before losing three games in a row which didn’t help our cause for European football and falling our of the European places losing to FC Nordsjælland 1-2 (Berg), FC København 1-2 (Berg) and then FC Midtjylland 2-3 (Hogh & Tielemans) as we dropped down into 6th place in this league.

However, we managed to stop the rot with back-to-back wins over the two clubs we really needed to the get points off, if we want that 4th place finish. We beat Brondby IF 1-0, thanks to a Diawara Bakary penalty and then bet an in-form Viborg FF side 3-0 with Victor Safsten scoring twice with his head from corners before Robin van Duiven sealing the win late on.

Defeated by FC Nordsjælland 0-2 which I knew was going to happen but then to pick up a valuable point against FC København, who had already won the league by a country mile by this point, but I was still shocked that we were only minutes away from making it all three points but they rescued it to make it 1-1 with a stoppage time equaliser.

We beat FC Midtjylland 3-0, to seal that 4th place finish in the league with one game to go. I was really shocked that we managed to beat them with ease thanks to Lacoux brace and Casper Ankersen getting this first goal for the club at this important fixture. Our last game of the season ended in defeat but I didn’t really mind losing 1-2 to Viborg FF with yet again Tom Lacoux getting another goal.

3F Superliga Championship Group Table

Season six is now over and so is our first season in the top flight of Danish football and we managed to finish in 4th place with many tipping us to be in a relegation battle all season and now we have had the last laugh because we have a chance of European football…

image-40.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

Only thing to happen off the pitch was me being head hunted by two clubs… A Dutch side again, this time it was Sparta Rotterdam, I think that makes like four sides now from Holland who wanted me and I had my first Spanish side in Real Betis, but again I said no, cuz BK Frem are the only club for me!!

Club Expansion Plans

The stadium seating is to be enlarged and work is going to be carried out on the training facilities and youth facilities with the latter a must as that the last few seasons I haven’t shown the youth intakes as they have been very very poor and didn’t want you FM fans to laugh…

Final Words

We were tipped to be in a relegation battle all season and to blow that out of the water and to finish the season in 4th with a chance of European football in season 7, well that’s amazing in two fronts. First in European and second that I have made it going into season 7 for the first time in a few FM games…

Last episode: The Kings of København (21)

On The Pitch

July – August 2028

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Two goals on his debut by 19 year-old Brazilian attacking Gustavo ensure we moved to the top of the 3F Superliga after a 4-2 victory over FC Nordsjælland. They had taken a two goal lead within the first 40 minutes, however after the break and a couple of changes Gustavo pegged it back to two all. However, new signing Albert Braut Tjåland (Cousin of Haaland) on his debut saw red for a bad tackle but that didn’t stop the lads scoring another two goals to seal victory over us with Nicklas Berg getting the third before another new signing Souleymane N’Doye got the fourth goal.

From top to ninth following back-to-back defeats to AaB who bullied us in the 5-2 (Phil Thieltges & Souleymane N’Doye) fixture before Viborg FF defeated us by two goals to nil. Brøndby IF visited the Valby Stadion and left with a point after a boring 1-1 draw with Phil Thieltges scoring our goal from the penalty spot thanks to VAR confirming the penalty was correctly awarded.

Bullied again, this time by OB by the same score line as the AaB game, If you can’t remember it was 5-2 (Tom Lacoux & Moise Sahi Dion). That’s now three defeats in the first five games and we drop another place in the league to tenth now and I really hope this is not second season syndrome in the top flight.

Moise Sahi Dion scored from the penalty spot after two minutes, but unfortunately we couldn’t hold onto that lead as FC Midtjylland managed to level to game one a piece before we managed to make it two games unbeaten as we beat AGF 2-1, thanks to goals from N’Doye & Sahi Dion as climb above AGF and move into the eighth place in the league.

image-43.png?w=1024

League Table

image-45.png?w=1024

Europa Conference League Qualifying Rounds

We enter the Europa Conference League league path third qualifying round against Slovenian side NK Domžale. In the first leg, we got off to a great start away from home by beating them 2-0, with Gustavo and Sahi Dion getting the all important goals, however in front of our own fans at the Valby Stadion, we hit them for five in the 5-1 win (7-1 on agg) to set up a tie against a Swedish club. Lacoux scored first before Sahi Dion double the lead before the break. After the restart goals by Tielemans, Madsen before Lacoux got his second of the game sealed the victory.

In the fourth qualifying round tie we met Djurgårdens IF Fotboll and both legs finished in draws. The first leg was 0-0, but the second finished 1-1, Sahi Dion getting our goal and we were about the celebrate the win but they snatched an equaliser in injury time. Nothing really happened in AET, so the game went to penalties and up stepped Mathijs Tielemans who kept his cool and smashed home the winning penalty.

Fixtures

image-44.png?w=1024

This format is new…

So, we only play six different clubs once…As anyone played this format before and how does it work?

image-46.png?w=1024

Final Words

I have a feeling we are going to do badly in the league and may struggle throughout the season. Then, on the flip side I am buzzing that we have managed to get some European football for this season. Let’s hope we can get a few wins and get some of that prize money, My target in the Europa Conference League is to win at least three of them ties out of the six, If I was a betting man, I think we can beat Cherno More Varna, Slovan Bratislava and CFR Cluj. I think we may lose to Genoa and Hapoel Tel Aviv and draw against Polish side Raków Częstochowa.

Last episode: The Kings of København (22)

On The Pitch

September – November 2028

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Defeated by Lyngby BK 0-1 before meeting an inform as always FC København and I was amazed that we managed to kept a clean sheet against them but we just couldn’t score and drew 0-0. It was three games without a win as we then lose against AGF 0-2.

We managed to stop the rot and then make it two games unbeaten with the first game beating AC Horsens 3-2 with my best mate VAR giving us all three points, with Gustavo, Tjåland and Berg getting the goals. Albert Tjåland played his part as BK Frem’s super sub lately as he set-up Julian Kwaaitaal before sending the away fans into wild celebrations by striking a leveler in the 90th minute to draw 2-2 with Randers FC.

A seven goal thriller as FC Nordsjælland edge us out by tapping in a late 92nd winner to beat us 4-3 at the Valby Stadion on a windy afternoon. We had been three nil down at one point and when Tjåland scored a brace and Gustavo, I thought we had got a point but unfortunately they had the last laugh, but still was happy with our performance to come back from three nil down for the first time during this series. Tom Lacoux and Souleymane N’Doye were on hand to score the goals against AaB in the 2-0 win that saw us move into 8th place in the league.

However, it was back-to-back defeats to AC Horsens 0-1 & FC København 0-2 which saw us drop into 9th place in the league. We were reduced to ten men in the game against AC Horsens we were the better side but could not hit the barn door and the game against FC København they just coasted past us like we were there.

We remained in 9th, following a shock win against FC Midtjylland by four goals to one in a game that I thought would have gone the other way against the side who sit at the top of the league. Moïse Sahi Dion scored first before they leveled it but Geatan Trenidad, Kasper Hogh and Gustavo scoring in the second half to give us a valuable win.

image-48.png?w=1024

League Table

So, a slightly different look from last season as we were in the top half and was in the championship phase with five games to go. However, this season we are in the relegation phase with five games to go but only three points off a championship place. The other thing is, we weren’t in Europe last season and to be honest with you. I would take a lower finish in the league if it meant getting wins and more money from Europe.

More money means better players for next season.

image-49.png?w=1024

Sydbank Pokalen

We faced Hillerød Fodbold, who we haven’t played since like season two or three in this series and we beat them with ease by two goals to nil seeing a former BK Frem in Jonathan Krath on the losing side, Moïse Sahi Dion continued his goal scoring form with a goal in the first half before Phil Thieltges spot kick sealed out passage to the fourth round where we played Vendsyssel FF, where that man Moïse Sahi Dion, this time bagged a hat-trick and then yet again Phil Thieltges getting himself on the scoresheet in the 4-1 victory.

Setup a Qf tie with Vejle Boldklub.

image-50.png?w=1024

Europa Conference League League Phase

We kick off our first game in the league with a 3-0 against Israelis side Hapoel Tel Aviv with Phil Thieltges grabbing brace with young Brazilian midfielder Gustavo sealing the win. Romanian side CFR Cluj were brushed by us in a cheeky 1-0 win, thanks to Souleymane N’Doye solo run with a well placed shot into the bottom corner in the latter stages of this match.

A team that I wanted to definitely beat during this league phase was Polish side Raków Częstochowa as that I faced them many times when I was LKS Lodz manager, anyway we defeated the Polish side 4-2 with Moïse Sahi Dion on fine form scoring a hat-trick with Gustavo getting the 4th goal in this fixture. We welcome Slovan side ŠK Slovan Bratislava to Denmark and send them back to Slovenia with no points by beating them 3-0. I did think a few of these sides we would have struggled against but not, which I am impressed with as I did think at the start of the campaign we would. Bulgarian side PFC Cherno More Varna came back not once, twice but three times in this match to earn themselves a draw against us, which I was impressed with their attitude to get back into this game. I did make a few changes before kick off but at least we remain unbeaten in this phase. Moïse Sahi Dion, Gustavo and Amine Lachkar on target for us.

The last game of the six was against Italian side Genoa, who in my eyes will be the strongest test for us out of the six games played in this league phase and as long as they don’t bully us then we have pretty much qualified for the knockout rounds of this competition and the match pretty much how I thought it would pan out with us coming back from behind twice to get a point in the 2-2 draw which means we are into the knockout rounds. An audacious chip from Brazilian Gustavo before Albert Tjåland stepped off the bench to head home a well earned draw.

Off The Pitch

Got offered my first International managers job and it wasn’t Denmark, so I said no to the Swedish job.

image-60.png?w=1024

Reunited with a legend from my Fatih Karagumruk save back on FM22. Signed Connor Mahoney for £350K for a club record fee from Bolton. I wanted to sign him last season, however we didn’t have the money to do it but now I have finally got my man and buzzing. Hopefully he can be a club legend like on FM22.

The second signing and more well known and also to be honest the first well known players that you people will know of. It’s Venezuelan forward Josef Martinez on a free transfer following his release from Atlanta United.

image-61.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

February – March 2029

Winter Break Friendlies

After roughly 60ish days we decided not to jet off to the Algarve, Portugal this time and stay more at home and play three teams we haven’t played in a while and we won three out of the three games.

image-54.png?w=918

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Having been reunited with one of my favourite players on FM22, Connor Mahoney had a dream debut in the 4-1 win over Viborg FF. They took the lead and Mahoney equalised with before half-time with a free kick then after the break scoring a volley to make it two one before we were awarded a penalty which Mahoney coolly slotted for his third. The rout was completed in the 90th minute by Josef Martinez who was also playing his first game for the club. It’s always nice to see players making an impact!!

image-59.png?w=1024

Josef Martinez made it two goals in two games having come off the bench acting as the super sub to rescue a draw in the 1-1 Lyngby BK and also got the PoM award for his performance. Two goals from Albert Tjåland ensured we moved into contention for Europa Conference League qualification following a 5-0 win over OB at the Valby Stadion. Phil Thieltges got us off on the right foot from the spot, then an OG from one their defenders before Connor Mahoney sealing the win.

We were dominant against Randers FC beating them 6-2. Josef Martinez scored a hat-trick.

image-62.png?w=1024

We then make it 11 games unbeaten as we then beat Brondby IF 1-0 with Albert Tjåland scoring the winner from the penalty spot to move us into 4th place in the league.

image-55.png?w=1024

League Table

We were position in 9th place after 17 games played and then to get into 4th place in the last five matches I am happy with. Meaning we have an opportunity again this season to get into Europe for the second season running. All to play for in the next 10 games…We won’t win the league but I will be happy with a 4th place finish.

image-58.png?w=1024

Sydbank Pokalen

We beat Vejle BK 9-1 on aggregate. The first leg at home was a 4-0 win with Moise Sahi Dion bagging a hat-trick before Albert Tjåland got the final goal of the game. The second leg at their ground, they did manage to score early, however the lads put them to the sword by scoring five to win the tie 5-1 on the night. Gustavo brace with Tjåland, Linner and Boerhout getting the goals in this game. We face OB in the SF’s of this competition meaning this is the furthest we have been so far in this series.

image-56.png?w=1024

Europa Conference League

Into the knockout rounds and we faced Austrian side SV Ried and the first leg ended in a bore draw. However, we followed up the first leg draw against SV Ried with a second leg victory at the Valby Stadion to secure a 2-1 victory. Kasper Hogh and Christian Strudal with the goals to seal our passage into the next round to face German side Hertha BSC in the QF’s.

image-57.png?w=1024

Final Words

Four points to make, (1) Happy with the two January signings and (2) still in with a chance to get into European football again in the league if we can finish in 4th place in the last 10 games. (3) A chance to get into the finals of the Sydbank Pokalen for the first time in this series. (4) Into the QF’s of the Europa Conference League…

Last episode: The Kings of København (24)

On The Pitch

April – May 2029

Europa Conference League

So going to start this update off in Europe first as I can’t believe we have managed to get this far at my first attempt, I am well impressed as that I thought we wouldn’t have got out of the group stages.

In the first leg of the QF tie against German side Hertha BSC, we won 3-2 at the Olympiastadion Berlin, thanks to two goals from our wanted attacking midfielder Gustavo (spoiler alert, he made the top 50 wonderkids, coming 3rd) with Moise Sahi Dion getting the third goal to give us the advantage. However, in the second leg the German side overturned the first leg defeat to beating us 2-0 at the Valby Stadion to win overall 4-3 on aggregate.

Now, we are out of Europe, let’s hope our league performance can continue so we can get European football again next season. We have the taste for it now…

3F Superliga Championship Group

In the league, we had to reply on Souleymane N’Doye to come to our rescue to in the 1-1 draw against a vert strong FC København side after an ex-Arsenal player Reiss Nelson had put them in front early on in the game and also smashing our attendance record with 12,854 at the Valby Stadion in this fixture too. Defeated by an in-form FC Midtjylland losing the match by 1-2 as Albert Tjåland strike proved the only consolation for us. Yoram Boerhout, Souleymane N’Doye and a Phil Thieltges penalty was enough to earn us all three points in the valuable 3-2 win over AaB as we maintained that 4th place in the league and to keep the dream alive of European football…

FC Nordsjælland beat us 1-2 as yet again, Albert Tjåland strike proved the only consolation for us. It is still the likes of FC Nordsjælland, FC København & FC Midtjylland (The big three, in my eyes) we struggle to get points off at the moment in the league with them having such strong players, but we will get there.

Our league performance at this stage again like last season is like a rollercoaster ride because after that defeat we beat Viborg FF 1-0 with my guy Connor Mahoney scoring from a free-kick. Then, again, the next game ended in a 4-2 defeat by FC Midtjylland as Connor Mahoney’s brace just wasn’t enough in this fixture.

Moise Sahi Dion was on hand to rescue a point in the match against Viborg FF which ended 2-2, before it was back-to-back draws in the 0-0 game against FC Nordsjælland who went top of the league after this game. We sealed our 4th place in the league by beating 2-1 AaB to ensure we got European football next season, thanks to two Josef Martinez penalties. We beat FC København in the league, woohoo…by two goals to nil. Defender Kristian Riis and midfielder Souleymane N’Doye scoring the goals and we end the season in 4th place. I am sure that FC København didn’t field a strong team at all, but a win is a win over the big three!

Sydbank Pokalen

We are heading to our first Sydbank Pokalen final after beating OB 6-1 on aggregate. It was advantage us in the first leg as it ended 5-1 in our favour after goals from Connor Mahoney, Souleymane N’Doye, Phil Thieltges and a excellent brace by Moise Sahi Dion. Many changes were made for the second leg and we still won by one goal to nil with Brazilian attacking midfielder Gustavo scoring the goal as we head into final to play the current holders of the competition.

image-4.png?w=900

And on a breezy evening at Parken, FC København remain for the time being the “Kings of København” following their 4-0 win over us. We had no answers to be fair and they were the better side. Hopefully something in the near future we can beat them.

image-1.png?w=1024

League Table

We end the season in 4th place, just like last season meaning we will again have the chance to play in Europe via the playoffs.

image.png?w=562

Off The Pitch

My first player to appear on this list (Top 50 Wonderkids)

Gustavo – attacking midfielder from Brazil. Also, new contract signed with a release clause as that Porto are looking at him now…

image-3.png?w=1024

Final Words

What a seventh season in this series and a second season in the top flight. Equaled last season’s 4th place finish and to get into the final of the Sydbank Pokalen too.

Also, our first adventure into Europe was brilliant too. To get out of the group stage was a very good achievement but to get into the QF’s was amazing.

Last episode: The Kings of København (25)

Off The Pitch

New Signings

Before we start, Tomas Rosicky hasn’t come out of retirement to play for BK Frem but has been appointed as the new Director of Football (DoF) on a two year deal.

However, we have signed two ex-French international on free transfers. First through the door was 36 year old veteran centre-back Raphael Varane on a 1 year deal. Adrien Rabiot came in on deadline day when he popped up of the DoF search bar and to be fair I didn’t think we’d be able to sign him but the 34 year old midfielder comes in on a one year deal to strengthen our midfield.

image-7.png?w=1024

Also, one of BK Frem fans and club icon Soren Krogh joins the club in a new role which is now available to us in the Technical Director role.

image-8.png?w=1024

On The Pitch

July – September 2029

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Again, like the past two season in the 3F Superliga, we haven’t started the best and been on rollercoaster ride of results which have left us out of the Championship phase in the league after 11 matches. We did, however win our first league game of the season 2-0 on matchday one against the current holders of the 3F Superliga FC Midtjylland, in which I did thought this could be the season we might push the so called top three sides all the way and finish higher than 4th place in the league, where we have finished in the previous two campaigns. But, the bubble burst in matchday two, as we faced our nemesis FC København who beat us 2-0.

image-10.png?w=879

The next couple of games ended in defeat against Viborg FF and a draw against a ten-men Brondby IF side which I was not impressed with before beating one of the newly promoted side Vejle BK 2-0. But, it quickly went from joy to disbelief soon after that as back-to-back defeats see us drop down to 9th in the table losing to AGF 2-1 before being bullied by FC Nordsjælland in matchday seven 4-0, our heaviest defeat in all competitions so far this season.

image-11.png?w=971

So, after back-to-back defeats, it was time for back-to-back wins for us, with our first at the Cepheus Park Randers against Randers FC 3-0. However, the highlight of the season so far was in matchday nine when we played the other newly promoted side to the 3F Superliga, Silkeborg IF in a game which will be known as the “Rabiot Show” this season with the veteran midfielder scoring his first goals for the club but not once, twice but three times in the 4-1 victory at the Valby Stadion.

image-9.png?w=1024

In the next two matches, we played AaB and lost both of them. I wont lie, bottles were thrown after both of these games and maybe the odd slice of pizza too. We had dominant against them in both the matches in shots, XG and possession but at the end of the day, just could hit the barn door where we just couldn’t.

The League Table

It looks like its going to be the same old story in the league again. Poor start to the league campaign like the previous two, however I am hoping like the previous two our form improves and we manage to get into the Championship phase and maybe push for European football again, otherwise if we don’t I think we will struggle to improve the squad for next season.

image-6.png?w=1024

UECL League Path

image-13.png?w=1024

We qualify for the UECL league phase and face the likes of West Ham United, Linfield, Shakhtyor Soligorsk, Hadjuk Split, Galatasaray SK and Zrinjski Mostar after beating the Scottish side Hibernian in the third qualifying round 6-3 on aggregate and then Dutch side FC Utrecht 4-2 on aggregate in the fourth qualifying round.

image-12.png?w=973

On looking at the six sides I will face in the league phase, it will only be West Ham and Galatasaray SK, I think we may struggle against and likely to drop points but the other four sides I am at least expecting wins. Now, saying that watch me not get out of the league phase now.

Final Words

Not happy with our league performance at the moment and hoping it will improve but I am happy that we have made it into the UECL league phase for the second year running. But I do think we have tougher fixtures than last year, so if we do make it out into the knockout rounds then I’ll be very happy.

On The Pitch

October – December 2029

3F Superliga Preliminary Phase

Only covering six league games, but boy oh boy did we manage to take some points of the top three clubs. You bet we did!!! Four points out of the possible nine beating FC København 3-2 with Moise Sahi Dion bagging a hat-trick against them, as in recent times it’s normally Myron Boadu scoring a hat-trick against me. The 2-2 draw was against FC Midtjylland before losing out to top of the league FC Nordsjælland 3-2 away from home.

In the other three fixtures, we beat OB and Randers FC 2-0 and 4-0 respectively but then it’s games against bottom of the league at the time Silkeborg IF who we go to lose against and in a game we clearly were the better side but again you hit the barn door, you score!! That defeat was our eighth defeat of the season and something has to change if we want to start challenging for the title in the next couple of seasons otherwise…

The League Table

Yet again we remain outside of the Championship group phase as we head into the winter break. Can we in the remaining five games push into that phase and have a chance of European football again or is it a bridge to far this season??

image-16.png?w=1024

Sydbank Pokalen

image-15.png?w=1024

Our dreams of getting our hands on this cup are over for another season after being beaten in the fourth round of the competition against the current holders and the side we faced in the final last season by three goals to nil FC København and I’ll put money on them winning it again this season too. All that sponsorship money they get each season, roughly £15m compared to our £275K I think I last saw. Not bitter are you, CoxieFM…

Anyway, but before that game, we had won the third round match 6-2. It was a much rotated squad and I played youth players too. The key highlight was ex-BK Frem player Nicholai Leding scoring twice against us. I think this was the first former player to do so.

image-18.png?w=1024

UECL League Phase

Well, we didn’t get off to the greatest of starts in matchday one out of the six games played in this league phase and we lost to West Ham United by four goals to two. (RIP David Gold, co-owner of WHU, who passed away this week). Back to FM and traveled to Northern Ireland to face Linfield and we trumped them 5-0 with new signing Ike Ugbo getting his first hat-trick for the club and most likely his first in European football.

Our first home game was in matchday three and another hat-trick was scored but this time by Moise Sahi Dion, who looked to be on his way out of the club during the summer but I managed to keep hold of the advance forward as we beat Belarusian side FC Shakhtyor Soligorsk 5-1. Then, traveled to Croatia, a new destination for us and faced HNK Hajduk Split won we beat 2-0.

However, we suffered our second defeat in matchday five against Turkish side Galatasaray SK, 4-2 and in fact we eventually lost to the teams that finished in 1st and 2nd place in this league phase before ending with a win in matchday six against Bosnian side HŠK Zrinjski Mostar 2-1.

The League Table (UECL)

We end this phase outside of the top eight places and I thought It was the end of European football for us but how wrong was I…We go into a playoff game…The European dream continues in the next blog!!!

On The Pitch

March – June 2030

UECL Knock Out Rounds

Having not finished in the top eight in the league, we had to go into the play off round to earn a chance in the knock our phase of the UECL and faced the Hungarian side Puskás Akadémia FC in a two legged tie which we won 5-1 on aggregate.

However, we bowed out of the UECL again in the quarter final stages like we did last season. The team to knock us out where French side Caen 4-2 on aggregate. The home tie at the Valby Stadion ended in 1-1 draw, but the Normandy city of Caen we were put to the sword losing out 3-1 on the night to end the European dream for another season. The round of 16 tie before the QF was against Austrian side Sturm Graz who we beat home and away by the same score line 3-2 and 6-4 on aggregate.

3F Superliga

Preliminary Phase

Before the final game of the season, we had to play four games before that which saw us lose once and winning the other three to keep our dreams alive. All four of them were tough fixtures against teams who were playing for survival and also their own chance of European football.

My 300th game in charge of BK Frem was probably the most important game of our season as we needed a win to keep our dreams of European football alive and the lads delivered by coming back from behind not once but twice to win the match 3-2.

image-23.png?w=1024

Championship Group

Our only defeat in the ten games in the Championship Group phase against this season champions of the 3F Superliga FC Nordsjælland by three goals to two. We had been ahead twice in this game, however we were reduced to 10 men and lost our heads and lost the fixture itself in the process. We had back-to-back draws against Viborg FF with both games ending two a piece in and the third and final draw was the 1-1 draw against FC København.

So with four games been covered then meaning yes the other six games were all victory that including a 4-0 triumph over FC København, the biggest victory over our Copenhagen rivals so far this series. We also defeat this seasons champions too and also back-to-back victories over AaB and FC Midtjylland.

After a poor start to the season losing 10 times in the first 22 league games, we end the season pretty strong in my eyes losing once in the 10 games and finishing the league campaign with 17 wins and some key wins over the three teams above us in the table too and yet again finishing in 4th place.

The League Table

We finished the season in four place for the third season in a row, however this season we had to play in a European places playoff fixture against Brondby IF and thanks to a Don-Angelo Konadu brace means we have the chance of European football for the third season running FMers.

Off The Pitch

We have a healthy transfer budget and wage for next season which we will need as that I will be rebuilding the squad and have plans for using a new tactic for season nine.

On The Pitch

Sydbank Pokalen

Yet again, our dreams of getting our hands on this trophy disappeared in the quarter final stages having been bullied over the two legs by none other than FC København losing 9-2 on aggregate. We did some bully ourselves in the third round of this competition beating Sundby 7-0 with four goals coming from Moise Sahi Dion before meeting old good old friend @TractionFM beloved Aarhus Fremad and of course we are a better side than them now, a few seasons ago it was a different story, however we won that match 2-1. Sorry bud!!!

image-25.png?w=1024

UECL

This season we entered the UECL qualifying stages a round early, don’t know why because our last three season league finishes were the same but anyway we made it through beating sides from Ireland, Switzerland & Bulgaria with us only drawing once and winning the other five games in qualifying.

However, our journey started against a French side and end against a French, the same side we met in the league phase knocked us out in the Playoff phase due to us not able to finish in the top eight in the league. We started the league phase off really fecking strongly and I did think hold that door guys we are getting out of the league but a shock draw against a Hungarian side that we beat in last season’s competition before Nordic rivals Helsingborgs IF beat us in matchday six leaving us out side of the top eight.

The draw was made and I was rubbing my little hands when we got the French side FC Metz and they were no pushovers beating us 2-1 in both ties (4-2 overall on aggregate) to send us out of the competition.

image-26.png?w=1024

3F Superliga

The preliminary phase we started off very well and remained in and around the top three/four positions throughout this period, which I was very surprised by and if you have been following our last couple of seasons in this league then you know we normally start off very poorly and then kick start the league when it’s to late to challenge for it. But, this season I knew something special could be on the cards as that we only and I say only lost six times but we won 15 out of the other 16 games which meant we finished in the preliminary phase in second place and one point behind FC Nordsjælland.

Then came in the Championship group phase of the season and we went on an amazing journey going an eight game unbeaten run, but looking back at run was actually 12 game unbeaten run with four wins in the preliminary phase which in turn, turned us into league title challengers for the first time in this series.

We headed into the final two league games knowing that if we win one of them, we won have been crowned champions with two to go but good old FM fashion we lose both games, but if fact…..

WE WIN THE LEAGUE….

With one game as that second and third placed sides dropped points meaning our last game of the season against FC København which we lost 1-0 was a nothing game after all.

Table

We only go and fecking won the league in season nine by one point and that team was FC København as well.

WE ARE THE NEW “KINGS OF KOBENHAVN”

image-27.png?w=1024

Off The Pitch

CoxieFM history over the past nine seasons…

image-28.png?w=1024

I was offered the opportunity after say three or four games into the season to manage our rivals, which I ran a poll over on twitter but to be honest I’d turned it down, I just want to know what the people of FM thought!! A world cup winning manager in Gareth Southgate took the reins…Haha, we won the league!!!

Final Words

Season nine sees us win the league title for the first time since 1944 and I am buzzing about…

However, if you have got to this point then in the blog then I have a little announcement to make in that I will be putting this save on pause for the first being as one I am starting a new save but the main reason is a need a break from this one as that is it tough one to crack and other fellow FM players have noticed the Danish league is tough.

With players getting pinched by other clubs, release clauses which you can’t get out/off contracts but for me, the lack of money due to the fact that the sponsorship is poor. For example the last few season we get roughly £245k where FC København let rack in about £15million. Maybe its a game thing, I don’t know…But I do know that being in Europe as helped massively.

This is not the end, but for now a pause.
