Is there anything against restarting with the same team? I feel like I've done quite a few mistakes, like signing a model citizen HOYD but with an approach to the game completely different from mine, so he brought tons of players I wouldn't use properly, and prioritizing players with good personalities over the better ones in the first seasons, maybe I shouldn't be focusing on long term before establishing a competitive base team regardless of their personalities.

Season Summary 2023

Suprising 1st Season Promotion!

 

I was surprised by the group of players I inherited and felt like this squad was capable of pushing past the media's prediction but never once did I think we could be promoted it's all thanks to some very important key players who fitted into my tactic.

I'm quite relieved that we got promoted because a few of my star player's contracts were expiring but as soon as we won promotion I was able to secure them for the next few years.

Our finances aren't looking the best as we are in the red but hopefully, it will get better next season the board did inject 100K to help our cause so that's a plus. Although they didn't improve anything within the club probably due to our bad finances.

I am very optimistic for next season I'm not too sure of what we can achieve but my goal is to just stay in the league as I feel our youth intake will be exponentially better being in the top league.

Unlucky on the sack. If you still have the original simulated season save I don't see why not. Lots of us have returned to clubs where we have unfinished business.

I have saved quite a few seeds at the reset date, as I was looking for some specific clubs. Already started over again =].

Denmark is practically impossible - all promoted clubs had amateur status so clubs come in and sign your players during the season leaving you with a threadbare squad by the end of it!

Was doing okay in the league early on (top 3) and then one player after another leaves and end up in the relegation zone.

Motor Lublin - Season 4 - Season Review

Having started the winter break in a relegation fight, I was finding myself feeling really concerned about how the season could be going. So when we picked up 8 points in our first 5 matches, I was starting to feel like the pressure was going away. However, when we lost 6 of the next 8 games, my concern grew more than I'd like to admit.

Thankfully, we survived. However, it was closer than I was hoping it would be, and I honestly felt very lucky that we even survived at all. It was not our finest moment to say the least.

Still though, our youth intake absolutely delivered the goods of what I was hoping it would provide, so suddenly our poor season didn't feel like a concern anymore.

The best prospect that we had was Mariusz Dąbrowski, who looks like he could be an absolute star for us in the DM role. He fits it perfectly for what I want to do.

Robery Kawalski is the striker I had been demanding for years. While he needs work on his finishing and composure, his driven personality and his speed will make him a dangerous player to deal with.

The last person I wanted to highlight is Grzegorz Pawlak, who it the right winger that I will be using as an inverted winger on the right. He can play the role and cause problems with his speed as well.

In rather concerning news, one of our domestic rivals was an interest of a tycoon takeover, and he's now since brought the club.

I was approached by Sassuolo for a job interview to become their manager.

I secured my Continental Pro Licence.

We had a takeover of our own, the new owner pumped £1.1M into the club coffers and I requested the training facilities get improved.

Poland gained a Champions League spot thanks to the increase of the nations coefficients after we went up to 14th place. It marks a rather successful season.

2028/29 Season Review:

Well it was a fairly forgone conclusion that we were in the relegation group. Could we save our season there?

Nope. Nothing worked. Made wholesale changes and minor tweaks. Nothing quite worked. Though at the end of the season things were getting a little better as I think a few adjustments may have stuck.

No upgrades this time sadly. The real bummer about finishing 12th is no prize money. Now we're deep in the hole. To help combat that and something I'll talk about in the season preview I started unloading a bunch of legacy players. Since I had a large, useless, transfer budget any non-starter (and an underperforming starter) that was a legacy player that couldn't be sold was mutually or outright terminated. 

2029/30 Season Preview:

My Ukraine save from FM22 had a similar scenario. We went up and two years later back down. During the season after relegation I purged most of the older players and let the youth players take over the team. I decided to do the same here. The glut of legacy players that were taking spots weren't good enough and there's a lot of high potential players here. I still have three pretty good legacy players and two valuable backups, but otherwise the team is all players from youth intakes. The hope is with the easier competition their development will spike and we go back up ready to compete next season....or it all goes wrong and I get fired. Either way, entertainment.

Anyone know if not having a recruitment package impacts the quality of the youth intake? Or if a better package leads to better players?

 

I am consistently having poor intakes and beginning to wonder if it might be down to not having a recruitment package in order to save money...

I have yet to pay for any scouting recruitment packages, pretty sure it doesn't affect the intakes. It's the youth recruitment that broadens your base of players and maybe HOYD scouting knowledge. The intake quality is more JR Coaching, Youth Facilities & HOYD / whoever is in charge of bringing in youth players.

Season 3 -  2025/26| TFF 1.Lig - 6th (Media:18th) | Cup - 5th Round

Mehmet, Mehmet, Mehmet. What should I say. 17 years old and best player in the 2nd league and for sure for my team. Broke every record this year in the league (1,2,3). He won the young player of the year award, player of the year award and was the top goalgetter of the league.  He don't want renew his contract but has still one year plus one. I hope we get the promotion next year because I don't want to loose him.

He want to play in the Süper Lig but even I was 6th and lost in the half final playoffs against Genclerbirligi, I don't see me next year there but hope dies last. I was this year a long time 2nd in the league but lost 7 of the last 11 games. 5 games in a row after I was 2nd. With the new youth income ( incredible), I hope for a better season ( even 6th was great and phenomenal).

Also my other two top prospect played a great season. Murat Tükenmez has a release clause and want also in the Süper Lig and my other prospect Umut Kilic has a long term contract (2 years plus 3 years extension). Hope all three prospects stays at Karsiyaka.

Championship

2030/31 (season 8)

Season Summary

Before the season I hoped we could get a playoff spot. But in end, we were just one point short. A bit devastating with just one point in the last two games. 

Most of the team developed very well and also performed good.

My best players:

Walters is my best players and performed well with 22 goals.

Byran is my captain and my top scorer and the top scorer of the league with 29 goals. 

Glover is another important player:

Zerrouki had his first season as my first-choice keeper. He developed very well from 2.5 to 3.5 stars.

I had 3 players on the NXGN list.

Smith is my star player from the intake of last season. Unfortunately, he broke his leg in the spring. But that is maybe my chance to hold off bigger clubs for one more season.

Toby Walters (not related to Patrick Walters), is a young winger. I don't use wingers so I play him as a backup striker. However, he has not had his breakthrough yet.

The third player on the NXGN list is N'Guessan. He is my best defender.

The youth intake preview looked great. But only two A's and not 5 stars.


However, the intake was really bad. Only 2.5 stars. I only think that Schubert has a chance to go into the first team. However, top talents can always surprise.

Unfortunately, we sold Mäkinen in January. He was an important player in the defense. He actually agreed on a new contract but did not sign it before Sheffield United offered his release clause. I think that we would have a larger chance of promotion if had stayed.

Finances and Upgrades
The board agreed to improve the youth facilities. They also announced that we will build a new stadium that is ready after next season.

Next season
Next season, I hope to keep my best players, Walters, Smith, Glover, and N'Guassan. 
If I can keep also my players and a few others will continue to develop I hope we can get a playoff spot and thus maybe get a chance to promote.

We stayed up! Woo! What a season, I'm going to bang out at least 1 more tonight so have that to look forward too. Honestly, its been way too long since I completed this season but we're looking quite good, time to keep it up for another year I hope.

Season 8 - 2031 - First Division

Finally our first taste of the first division with the pure aim of staying in this league and consolidating. With only 1 team getting relegated, i had high hopes.  Whilst both Stages werent pretty, we were never really in trouble of getting relegated, finishing 14th in both Stages. In terms of the team, we started a new GK, RB and MC replacing players that were either sold or left the club.

Finances in the top league are quite generous and we're now making healthy profits. We managed to improve our junior coaching and training facilities to excellent.  Havent seen youth facilities option pop up which is stuck at Great for now.  We've been filling out our 19,500 capacity stadium week in week out so the Board have acknowledged we need a bigger stadium, they're on the lookout for a suitable site.

Youth intake was really healthy! Again our HOYD strikes it lucky with some of the top prospects with awesome personalities!

Looking forward to seeing this guy develop who is the pick of the bunch by a nose:

Im at the point now where the players have outgrown the club and are refusing to resign. Good chance ill be losing my best CB Cabanas who is still on a youth contract but is refusing the enter negotiations despite still wanting to stay at the club, maybe i can keep him on a rolling contract if no other club comes in for him....

I just use a screenshot program called Greenshot, then save as image and add it to the post. Double click the image and then you can adjust size.

Hey man. I'm new to this but you must insert existing attachment that is displayed when you click other media button and pick the image from your PC.  The image will show up in large format then you need to double click the image and you can then set your desired dimensions. Just remember to keep aspect ration checked

Suggestions Please!

Struggling to really get into a save. Really wanted to do Indonesia, but the bugs make that hard.
Started in Germany, but not really feeling it.
Could do England again and I am sure I will enjoy it, but it takes forever (especially for me) AND I completed the challenge once....in England.

My biggest don't want is financial issues to a crazy extent (EG: Belgium).

 

Any Suggestions?

Wow, I did not expect this! Back-to-back promotions was not something I thought was on the card when the season started.  It also didn't look like it when we lost 7-1 to Crewe in the first match of the season! Granted we got two red cards that game, but still, it put a real damper on my expectations for the season. After that though, we started to pick up points and slowly crawl our way up the table. At the halfway point we were just inside the playoff, but I expected the mid-season slump to pull us back down, but it just never came and we cruised into a promotion. That said, Boreham Wood, that got promoted alongside us last season also finished in 13th, so I guess the difference is not as big as I though. I also rotated quite a bit more than usual this season, and that seems to really have helped us. That's a note to myself going forward, as I tend to not rotate enough until it's too late. I'm not sure how well another promotion will go though, as we had major issues at times this season, but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth! League One here we come!

FA Cup: We beat York City and Notts County before we lost to Barnsley in the 3rd round.
League Cup: In our first outing here we surprised everyone by beating Hull City before losing to Sunderland in the 2nd round.
EFL Trophy: We got a group of Lincoln City, Man City U21s, and Morecambe and only got a single point and finished last.
 

U21 Team:

They finished 7th in the U21 Division 3 this season.

U18 Team:

They played at a higher tier this season and finished 11th in the U18 Youth Alliance League North West this season.

FA Youth Cup: They beat King's Lynn Town, Lowestoft Town, Blackpool, and Middlesbrough before losing to Watford in the 5th round.
U18 Youth Alliance Cup:  They got a group with Notts County, Chesterfield, Preston, and Stockport County. There they finished 3rd and got knocked out.

I'm selling one of my best players. Didn't want to, but the board accepted an offer for him, so I had to try to get more (and a sell-on clause!). So here he goes!

While he is very good, I have a good replacement, so he is not the worst player I could lose.

Mason Darlow 27e was supposed to be the understudy this season, but I guess he becomes first choice now.

Third 8th place finish in a row. Again we just missed out on the championship group and had no Chance of playing for the european spots. Nevertheless a pretty successfull season, with some nice development of our intake guys. Especially Kolan Bar-On 27A and Klemi Ben-Melech 27B from last years intake, immediately took a role in the first team and progressed nicely. Topscorer was once again Lior Gennish 25B but he wont be the starter for much longer as Bar-On ist getting better and better. Liel Barrett 25A is still our best player, but we wont have the chance to keep him for much longer as some teams are sniffing around and he has a release clause. In defense it was Moshe Goren 26C who got more starts, but the defense is still our weakest link. At least we have found a good right back in last years intake who became our first team regular this year. Moshe Levy 28A

Turns out, it looks like another beautiful intake with very good talents. Unfortunately again some unambitous personalities.

My next goal is to get in the championship group. I think we have a pretty decent squad by now with 1st league players in nearly every position, so I think we can aim for that.

As long as the club taken over fits the original criteria and there is no in game editor etc it should be fine. 

I'd also say no transfer deals between the 2 sides or any affiliation at all just to keep things above board.

Cup: We did it our first Top Domestic Trophy!

Our 3 new star players transformed our offence and brought us up to a fantastic 3rd place finish. Our new striker Joao Pedro 10c led us with 28 goals in 23 appearances bringing us from last season's just +9 GD to a dominant +48.  Our new RM Emidio D'Avila 10b got us 4 goals and 12 assists with a 7.28 average rating dominating his wing. And then the understated gem of the past intake is CM Abilio Monteiro 10a who has brought needed stability to our CM. Best news is he has upgraded his personality from Unambitious to Light-Hearted! I know he's young, but he'll be our new captain next year as I look to phase out my GK.

Another Golden Generation Preview, and we are finally getting to the ability that non-A's are beginning to show up in the intake. Sadly its for the GK position, which is what I need most right now.

Well, a couple of seasons ago I begged my HOYD for Strikers and for the second season in a row he's found some. Next wish-list is for defensive options. Other surprise is the significant number of Cape Verde players this year and generally overall for the save. All CPV players have LUX second nationality, so of the 176 total players we've gotten 28 of them (16%) are from Cape Verde

Nice surprise is we got another striker who has crazy flair and solid mentals overall which is really exciting, shame he’s so slow.

The second striker is a finisher

After that I’d say my next favorite would be the DM Miguel Ribeiro who is a half-decent BWM and could become a better CB for us (even being short and not jumping)

The rest while they are judged as having decent stars really aren't that exciting to me especially with the bad personalities throughout. But I'm happy with 3 promising prospects, shame its none of the Cape Verde players.

Youth Products Highlights

 

Club Infrastructure

Even with a small delay we moved into our new stadium this September. Instantly our Reputation increased to 1* and most excitingly we can actually ask for Youth Facility Upgrades!! Granted till prize money came in we were sitting at -200k, but even just this one season brought us up to 100k. Soon we can finally get beyond literal level 1 facilities.

Also, this year our Supporters essentially doubled from 1k to 2.4k and with our new stadium we saw our first Corporate supporters show up, which hopefully will mean more income for the club.

Thoughts

 We qualified for Europe both through the league and the cup, so hopefully we can put in a couple good performances this fall to see some prize money and begin to finally upgrade our facilities. I do think with the 4+1 Relegations there is an easier batch of teams and that was this year's group. Hopefully, we can keep this form when the stronger teams return to the topflight.

Season Review

The Double Double now for FC Chiasso as the momentum builds in this challenge! Basel really pushed us this year (with 2 extra time wins away from home in the Champions Play Off) so I was really pleased to retain both title and Swiss Cup.

Europe was fun this year with wins against Levski Sofia (A) 1-2, Rennes (A) 1-2, Spartak Trnava (H) 3-1, Trabzonspor (H) 2-0 and draws against Liverpool (H) 1-1 and Juventus (H) 2-2 before qualifying for the Knock Out Play Offs where I faced Juventus losing 1-0 away and drawing 0-0 in the return leg. For 7 seasons in its far greater than I expected.

I managed to retain all but 1 first team player this season and now I am starting to get a bit of a production line going as far as the new youth leading into the first team is concerned rather than having to blood 15/16 year olds in the starting line-up every week as the main player in their position left. Rafael Pereira has 2 years to go and I think the leaving on a free transfer thing from before I triggered his extension will now be here to stay so I have 2 seasons left with him and given my finances I think I'll try to hold onto him for another year, we have 2 really good central defenders in Nistico (Elite4) and Capone (Elite1) with 2 half decent youngsters waiting in the wings.

Thje NxGn had Pereira and Duda again however Nistico dropped out of the top 50.

The intake wasn't exceptional by any means but the Georgian AMC it provided is making me question having a 4-2-3-1 as a secondary formation as we start to be a little more on the front foot rather than defensive counter attacking football. The alternative is to retrain as an MC as I did with Beretta before he joined Dortmund. I've now had a youth from each continent with the exception of Asia as I had a Liechtenstein/Fiji full back.

I still have the same model citizen HoYD who is now studying for his Continental Pro License and I've seen his attributes improve over the years he has been here. I have also appointed Kolo Toure as a first team coach who is also a Model Citizen so hopefully the personalities of the players starts to get a positive effect in the coming seasons.

I once again fought with the board about buying a new stadium but they have opted to expand the current stadium (council owned) by 2,500 seats with the £2.9m bill being covered by a grant from the authorities. The board is in takeover talks just now so we'll see if it leads anywhere, maybe the new chairman will have a higher working with youth rating 

The supporter profile isn't changing a great deal but we continue our steady climb in social media figures.

 

Next Season

Pretty much the same as last season to be honest, keep trying to win both domestic competitions, make progress in Europe and keep an eye out for new entries in the staff search as our reputation rises (now 3.5 stars and the top side in Switzerland!)

Thanks for the quick reply @Daddy I just managed to remember what I used to use, alt + s saves it directly to screenshots in the fm folder.

I think I've made a big mistake in my save.

I added the top league from the big 5 so that I could perhaps get better staff (the staff list seemed really stale).

As soon as the leagues were added BOOM, bids in for Pereira and Duda (Duda's minimum fee release clause now activated), U18s staff getting poached etc.

It got me thinking, is it too easy without the other leagues involved? It almost seems a bit like a cheat in a way as the clubs in  those leagues aren't prominent. I mean Duda is either off to West Brom, Norwich or West Ham which for a 19 year old Albanian with 20 caps seems plausible, but before this no club was interested. The only players attracting any interest were my top players and it was alwys Bayern, Dortmund, Juventus or Inter etc.

I wondered the same, it's why I always load the big 5 despite the league I'm playing in.

I load all leagues from Europe as view only. I should do the rest of the world too.

Season Summary

Much better season although our old problems return. With 2 games to go we could have gone up automatically but we went and lost them both. Cagliari were just too classy for us in the play offs but losing 3-2 on aggregate is no disgrace.

Players

Endri Ejupi 26H was back to his old stuff. After 7 games he'd already matched his goals output for last season. He made his full Albania debut as well!

Overall the squad is of a good level for Serie B but not quite Serie A yet. so even if we'd gone up we'd have finished bottom.

Youth

Finally! a decent intake! excellent with 4 elite talents is very nice, although none of them really stand out as the future superstar i crave

Finances and Upgrades

Still losing around 6m a season which makes upgrades an impossibility. So our facilities are slowly degrading instead with no chance of us improving them. We really need something to change soon.

Well, I accepted the L in Bulgaria and managed to pick up new motivation to start again. I want to try something new and go to the beatiful african continent, more precisely to Angola. Football has a great importance in the south-west african country, not only because of its potuguese history.

After a nice one year holiday, Mabrice Alcebiades Faieco, relative of Akwá, took over the recently promoted Amigos da Caponte. With only 13 players on non-contracts, this will be a very difficult challenge for the unexperienced manager.

So I'm still doing my FM21 save and am about to start season 14 and about to play my first game in the Championship, but my U23 squad didn't get invited to a league. What are the requirements for them to get an invite? Besides the youth level, club reputation and perhaps even facilities levels, what else is taken into account? Is there anything I can do to help us get an invite? FWIW, youth level is at 3, junior and youth recruitment are maxed out, training and youth facilities are average and  reputation is at (2 star) regional.

Also, how long did it take you guys to get your U23 squad invited to a league?  I want to get an idea of how long we'll have to wait.
