Season Summary

Well, looks like we're an established Serie B club now, despite the media predictions still under-valuing us. The players tend too as well. Every time I say we'll aim for a mid-table finish they get all huffy and claim I'm setting them up to fail. But we're a good side now!

Third time in a row we make the play-offs and third time in a row we fail in the play offs. But we keep getting there, and that's the main thing. One season we'll get a bit of luck and that'll be it!

Players

Mateo Hasani 28A - My Albanian left winger/cum right inverted winger. Now has 19 Albanian caps and is rated as a Serie A level talent. With a 4m release clause, only 2 years on his contract and a constant refusal to sign a new one I think he'll be a Serie A player sooner rather than later - hopefully with us, but more likely with someone else.

Stefano Melani 29A - CM, still only 19 and my other Serie A rated player. He also wants to leave for a stronger club and also has a 4m release clause. If we can hang on to him promotion isn't out the question but it is a rather big if

Edris Ejupi 26H - I love players like this! clearly not rated in my initial intake but forced his way into the side and thrived. Halfway through the season I abandoned my 4-6-0 and went to 4-3-3 and he was the spearhead of attack. Constantly improving and constantly getting into the Albanian squad - yet to make his debut though!

An ok preview, but the lack of A grade talents was a worry

The intake was weirdly ok. Only 4 players worth signing but the two elite talents look pretty good.

Chiapetta looked the best.

I wanted to sign 4 but in the end i could only sign 3. Never seen this before:-

So, i completed it again and i managed to not update again here. Like the 3th year in a row. 

But i most definitly want that Wall of fame place, so ill start updating here to.

TSV Allemannia Aachen 2023-2024

So this year we are starting it in good old Deutschland. Aachen came up and i was quite happy with that. It's a club with a great history, good facilities and a nice stadium. 

 

So, first things first, Transferwindow:

So, first season we start in the Bundesliga 3. 

 

 

So, it was a pretty decent first season. Oke, thats an understatement. We finish 2nd and with that we get a spot in the 2. Bundesliga. Very happy with that.

To be fair, this aint half bad. Spoiler alert: Taner Bilgin will be a very important player for us and even Cupic will get to the 1. Bundesliga.

Well this is it. The Final season. 16 seasons it took me...and we finish in style with a quadruple!. We finish with 8 championships, 2 cups, 6 super cups and one champions league. Kaan Dobra has finished his goal! More about the CL finale at the end. I see I forgot to update the Ballon d'Or on teh pcture and im too lazy to go back but it was won by SEGURA spanish player playing for Chelsea.

With 93 points we really dominated this season. We also finish with 466 mln EUR in the bank. Sadly still no affiliates and no improvement of youth facilities.

Youth

Last year intake was amazing. Three elite players who can make the first team. Especially TASKAN with resolute persoality is high potential.

For the last update and overview of all intake players per region. Aegean with 207 is the big winner. Altough last few years we ware getting more and more players from all over Turkiye.

BAS (vice captain) was a brilliant goaly. In the CL final he saved two huge opportunities and we could not have done it without him.

YALCIN the Captain. The leader. The rock. Already 58 caps at age of 26, he will probably end up with around 100. The first Wonderkid we had and i'm more than happy that he stayed till the end with us. Giving him the armband was vital in that.

GULERYUZ the star striker...already 20 goals for Turkiye...his pace is amazing and he was the MoM of the final. His goal was crucial (altough he had 4 1 on 1 chances).

 

Champions League Final

The teams:

 

1-0 from GULERYUZ. Easy tuck in 5th minutae. It was our 3rd chance of the game already. Blitzball baby.

1-1 from Barcelona in 84th min from Romanian SALI. It gave hope to the Catalonians.

2-1 in 91st min! the winning goal after a great run by VURAL.

The celebrations...continued for 4 days in Turkiye (and continued long after the cup final).

 

And so we win...and I finish the challange.

I loved it. First time I managed to finish it in three years. Sadly Turkiye didn't have alot of foreign intake but I loved playing there. Alot of interesting clubs with rich history. Amazing intakes...much better than I remember in Poland or Netherlands.

 - Afrika in Iceland seems awesome...do you need a custom CD to play them?
 - I've not played in Brazil before. Maybe Perolas Negras? Would need alot of reloads and in beta they could not promote.
 - or I could start my Polonia game.

South America is neglected for sure, only a handful have completed it there and still nothing for Colombia if you fancy something more challenging than Brazil

Hapoel Ra'anana Season Review

Season 27/28

League - Squad - U19Squad - Transfers - Finances

Another very good season in the books. We once again finished 8th after just missing out on the championship group. We still relied on three of the initial players, other wise we have a young squad of regens. Liel Barrett 25A is our best player and Porto wants him but did not activate his clause yet and he has two years left on his contract. Lior Gennish 25B became our first team striker after we decided to let Awawdi go and he immediatly had a great season with 29 goals. In central midfield its still Elkaslasy 24A and Ben-Naim 24H running the show. In defensive midfield it is Lidan Sa'ar 26A who became our regular starter. We had to sell our best player Ben David and it was Shai Zion 25C who stepped up and got a run in the first team. The big problem is still the defense, where we have alot of players with bad personalities and despite first team football they are not really progressing. Luckily we have a great keeper who is still young. 

Best prospect ist another striker with Koral Bar-On from last years intake.

But no suprise since we maxed out youth recruitement and junior coaching. I just cannot update the youth facilities, dont know why. I never had the option and to make things worse, they have been downgraded at the end of the season

Season 1 - 22/23

We managed to stay up, which is just about all that can be said from this season. Having only 14 players in the squad was an absolute slog and the fitness really took a hit throughout the season. At least now we've had a youth intake there will be some depth to the squad, even if the quality isn't brilliant. 

Speaking of youth intakes.

Not exactly ideal with the personalities throughout the squad, but we desperately need the depth.

I think the next few seasons are going to be fairly miserable and all about avoiding relegation as best we can. Having a bigger squad will definitely help with rotation and hopefully some of the youngsters can develop a little bit over the course of time and get to the level we need to push the club on.

FC United Of Manchester - Season 9

It was an incredible season, we were in the playoffs for most of the season, and we ended up dropping out with 10 games to go, we managed to win a few more and push ourselves back into the playoffs on the final day of the season. We faced Solihull Moors, a team we had beaten both times in the season but they were strong and came down from the National last season. I was 2-0 down after 20 mins, came back to 2-2 immediately however we went on to lose 6-4 (yes crazy game) and were eliminated from the playoff rounds.

I am incredibly happy, with the progress and also disappointed I felt overall we were good enough to go up that season. The youth intake wasn't the best, not one player to come into the starting 11 so will be the same lineup again. 

Positives, Team is actually quite good now I feel in areas, Anthony Connor is continuing to smash the league apart he currently sits on 391 goals in 388 games accordingly to the best 11 stats overall - if i could just tighten up at the other end (my keeper is appalling though).

For the more experienced in the English leagues, after the takeover I got Junior Coaching upgraded and Youth Recruitment upgraded, they added some money to the club, I waited to see if the upgrades were too expensive or not, seems with the Cup games I I can afford to go up another level, but the option does not appear. Do I need to wait? Or go up a Youth Level?

I think you just have to wait. I have never experienced being restricted by my youth level.

The board might take a while to consider a further upgrade and offer it as an option.  My working assumption is that if the board doesn't want to pay for it, they'll simply refuse, so I regularly ask but don't push it when they turn me down.

Season Summary 2028 - 2029

Mid-table finish and a life time contract for our HOYD?

 

Another good, but slightly boring Bundesliga season and another very promising youth intake, I would say the third intake in a row that really exceeded my expectations. I do think affiliate clubs and youth coaching/recruitment matters more than the HOYD, but I am certainly not replacing him anytime soon. We are getting players through the academy that has the combination of technical talent as well as good determination. The personalities aren't always great, but I value the determination above everything. The only negative is that many players have quite weak physical skills, but we can't have it all.

This was our third season in the Bundesliga and before this season we have finished 14th and 12th. We improved on those results and ended up 11th. The reason I say it was a bit boring is because this was the first year we were not involved in the relegation battle and I honestly think we should have ended the season on the top half of the table. At Christmas we were 8th and we were playing really well at times. Unfortunately we couldn't keep it up and we were terrible in the second half of the season. But we have a young team and it only makes sense that the performances will be unstable. 

We got a few injuries that set us back a bit and I loaned out a player (the first real loan I have gotten so far, the loan system on FM23 is so bad I dont know what to say) so that he could play every game for a first team instead of being a rotational option for us and doing that we lost a pretty big impact player from the bench. I also replaced my starting striker for a big talent from the U19 and that was more a long term decision than a short term one. But those are the decisions you have to do! 

I hope next season we won't be dragged back into the relegation battle, but rather can fight for a decent spot on the top half of the table. I will probably also replace Tobias Eisenhuth, a club icon defensive midfielder that has been with me from the start of the save with a very gifted player from the U19, hopefully he can improve a lot next season and bring another dimension into the team. 

Noah Dittloff, our wonderkid goalkeeper, keeps improving and I can only prey that I can keep him. He will be a true superstar! The same goes for Richie Thompson, he is developing at an extremely rapid pace. A defender that also has fantastic offensive qualities, so much so that the coaching staff considers him my best striker as well. Maybe that says more about my strikers?

I always push for upgrades. I think it is only the last upgrades that are really expensive. The benefits are too large not to push for upgrades in this challenge.

Well I waited for the Euro's to finish and then approached Mandli for contract negotiations and as expected he was still adamant the squad wasn't strong enough.

No one wanted to come in at the upper end of his value so I lowered to £10m with 50% of profit of next sale and Valencia bit:

He now has an estimated value between £50m -£73m and has a 5 year deal on £39k a week and a minimum fee release clause of £96m (which if activated would give me £43m )

It's probably the best I could have got given it's his last year.

Sure enough I sold him and the squad moaned about lack of depth but again promising that youth was the key they backed off.

Time will tell if this was a wise move as far as the challenge is concerned but financially it made sense to let him go.

Financially I am sound at the moment with £29m in the bank before champions league money this season, I’ve got 4 star training and youth facilities though I think the youth facilities bug is still present as I haven’t upgraded in a while and the option isn’t there. The training facilities were complete about a month ago so it takes a little while before it’s back.

I’ll probably just wait as I think he may yet improve and establish himself as the Swiss number 9.

Yeah they are really tough to be fair - I thought i might get something out of Lens, but nope.  0-2 defeat at home to make it 12 straight defeats in the group stage

I feel your pain, I’m largely in the same position.

The best thing is optional contract extensions.

My star centreback thinks he’s leaving at the end of this season on a free transfer but as soon as he turns 18 in November I’m triggering his 3 year extension 

I didn’t have a contract extension for Mandi so just had to suck it up and offer him out. I’ve yet to see one player change their mind when it’s about the strength of the squad.

I hit them with optional extensions (3years if I can get it) and also tend to get a 1yr extension in final season (after 5 games), which I try to activate before using the optional extension.  This normally gives me 6 or 7 years.

Ah, yeah that's a great idea. I am only Part time though so will only let me add one year to most deals but still, it buys me some more time with my players. Cheers guys forgot about that option that helps massively.

Well, here we go then! I'm going to give Finland a try. I started a save yesterday with KäPa, but when I saw that @DazRTaylor chose them, I switched to my 2nd choice JJK.

I always fancied Finland, mainly because one of my heroes when I was young: the one and only Jari Litmanen. I was such a big fan of him in the 90s when he played for Ajax. So hopefully I can make him my Assistant Manager in the near future!

 

I made these kits, based on their real life kits. And as you can see, one of the main reasons to choose JJK is their facilities. Hopefully it can give me a kickstart in the first seasons!

Having kept updated with this thread recently, and my South Shields FC test save proving to be a success, I am throwing my hat into the ring, and managing newly-promoted Canvey Island FC in the Vanarama National League South! This is me!

Our season expectations are modest - to avoid relegation, and to put up a good show against our bitter rivals Concord Rangers.

We have gone for a 4-1-4-1 as I quite like this formation! As you can see, In like to attack!

Our hopes really rest upon the shoulders of our Spanish midfielder Odei Martin, who is relatively fit, fast, strong, and who can string a pass together!

Our balance is better than I thought, but it always seems like non-league clubs leak money like a sieve, so I'm sure that this will change...

Our facilities are basic, but the Youth Category of 4 is better than the alternative teams in the Vanarama National North/South, several of who had no Youth Level at all. At least we have something to build upon!

Finally, at the start of pre-season, I can reveal my new Head of Youth Development - Jordan Duffy is OK at judging CA and PA, and is good at working with the youth. Mainly, I looked to sign him due to this professional personality and 1.5* reputation - the Continental C Licence is a bonus! Hopefully he can work his magic!

4.Deild C - 5th tier : I felt pretty quickly that this squad could do more on this database compared to the previous one. We finished second in our group after a win in our last game of the competition and were allowed to participate in the playoffs. there, we beat two stronger teams and so we are out of the lowest series after just one season.

Mjólkurbikarinn: We lost in the first round against 4th tier team KFG.

U19: They won the U19C group but lost in the promotion final.

First XI| Overall Best XI | Player Stats - League | Transfers | Youth Intake 2023 

Two subs will retire , and some players want to leave. If i can keep our four best players and introduce 4 or 5 players from the first intake, i should be fine for next season.

Ibáñez was our best player ! Scored 13 in 18 games and only 17.

Season 2 (VNL North) - 2024/2025

Squad | Transfers| Finances| Supporters| Facilities

 

League (18th) - Differently than the previous season, this time around we didn't start quite well. After the first 10 matches we had only two wins and were inside the relegation zone. Most of the time we can keep the possession but we just can't create clear chances. A decent amount of our goes come from balls that defenders hoof to our lone striker Mampala, and he keeps banging them as this year the scored another solid 23 goals, but he definitively could improve his composure. The only other two players worthy mentioning were Eddie Brown, that keeps doing a decent job as a winger and the rookie Sam Oldham, whom banged 7 assists in just 18 apps, coming 16 of them from the bench, and despise his awful passing skills. Our passing and finish is amongst the worst in the league, and i'll probably tweak my current tactics to something more narrow with faster tempo next season.

Cups - Didn't even bother again with the cups, as we were struggling in the League, fielded whoever was best fit for the match.

Notes - I was offered a few good job opportunities, including a Championship one,  but obviously denied all of them (1, 2 and 3). We had a takeover at the end of the season, which was helpful to upgrade once again both the Jr. Coaching and Youth Recruitment. Next season I'll start introducing more youngsters into the squad as the old lads are pretty pretty bad. 

Youth Intake - The intake preview got me hyped, as i'm really in need of a new and more realiable striker, but the one we got is nowhere near that standard. A few good personalities, and a few good talents, but the only one worth mentioning now should be the Scottish man David Martin who might push for a first XI spot very very soon, despite his poor personality, leaving me the option to field Eddie Brown as a second striker.

Decent half of season I think this make me keep calm about survival but I dont think we will reach Europe. However there is slight chance as we have really good run in Polish Cup where we will playin in QF with Jagiellonia leader of Fortuna 1st League.

Tell me more Henk! I swear if there is no foreign golden boy I will kill you for letting this 2 German players out

Our facilities are basic, but the Youth Category of 4 is better than the alternative teams in the Vanarama National North/South, several of who had no Youth Level at all. At least we have something to build upon!

I hate to say it but what did you create your manager as in term of the badges because I see you have 18 points under coaching and 15 under mental which looking back at my manager when I created them I had 12 and 11 respectively, so your manager has a total of 33 stat points compared to 23.

Nice one, I hate seeing people get so many seasons in before discovering something invalidated the challenge and they lose all the progress they made.
