South Shields F.C. - Wikipedia

Vanarama National League

2026/27 (season 4)

Season Summary

My expectations this season were to fight for promotion and keep developing my players.

Before the season I sold one of my four young offensive star players. I wondered how I could get the most out of the remaining three and therefore changed my tactic to a 4-3-3 with three strikers.

The three strikers scored lots of goals, but we were also open in the defense. In the end, we scored massively 113 goals which were enough to win the title and promotion. The defense got better in the second part of the season as my defenders got better.

image.thumb.png.3fbd47ff782aafcad8c4a2a7ebba1668.png

My 3 young offensive stars Ergan, Byran, and Walters, played very well. Byran scored massively 48 league goals in 45 league games. While the two other strikers Egan and Walters had the highest average rating with 7.51. They scored and assisted a combined 30 and 29 respectively.

Marcinkowski and Jordao developed very well this season.

After this magnificent season, I thought it was a good idea to display my three strikers.

First Byran. He played as an advanced forward in the center of the three strikers. He can finish, dribble, and run and his mentals are crazy. Fortunately, I have had no problems with him being unhappy. I think he will be appointed as my captain for the next season.
image.thumb.png.6a54cea382f0f89a6eb832709e85f478.png

Egan plays as a false 9 on the left. According to the season preview tab, in the end of the season, he was regarded as the best player in the league. However, he wants to move to a bigger club. With two years back on his contract, I can hopefully keep him for another year.
image.thumb.png.249e347e677da34532cb43776e857e79.png

Walters plays as a target man on the right. He also wants to move to a bigger club. With two years back on his contract, I can hopefully also keep him for another year.

image.thumb.png.3438b4cb29cc8a04ad4b7f7e126f0a6b.png

Not only my first team had success with my new tactic. My youth team also won their league and scored most goals.

image.thumb.png.6920dd435bcfb1e4bbcefe58e01a9f5d.png

The youth intake preview looked great. Lots of A's and 5 stars.
image.thumb.png.1d7ea42c5bd8ae7fd5ada13e62430734.png

I was very happy with the intake. The personalities are okay. Both N'Guessan and Douglas will be rotational players next season.

image.png.ed83a26f48fcf88c37c1b0b53a509428.png

Douglas was the best player in my intake. He got a few games at the end of the season and played well.
image.thumb.png.4ca6dc3a337e835222652325c8e7240a.png

Oliver was as earlier mentioned sold for around £500K and a 50 pct. sell-on-clause before the season. I later sold the sell-on-clause for around £1.5M. However, no important players left the club this season.
Unfortunately, my talented reserve keeper is leaving the club for free after this season. I tried to loan him out, but the only club that answered wanted him as a backup. I declined the offer and he was unhappy for the rest of the season, why it was impossible to renew his contract.

Finances and Upgrades
I managed to upgrade the facilities.
I upgraded my training facilities once and youth recruitment twice.
Personally, I managed to get the Continental Pro Licence

Next season
Next season I hope to keep my young players through the summer. The strikers should be good enough to play at the top of the league again. I have my doubts about the rest of the team. But in the end, it would be great if we can fight for the play offs.

Those are some great youths!

Season 7 - 2029/30

National League North - 1st

*Champions*

MacFarlane WHO?

1333641235_Table7.png.79eb9e8c66f50f90daf05ce014035cf7.png

About as comprehensive as domination gets. Best attack. Best defence. Unbeaten since November. I took things a little slower this season - I did all the press conferences, I managed my players better, and I came up with a simpler tactic and everything just worked. Last season was frustration, this season was pure joy. Sometimes it takes me too long to really decide where a player is best, I get there eventually but I wish I'd made these decisions 12 months ago.

Off the pitch, we've reinvested the MacFarlane money into Youth and Training facilities and still have around £700k left. Going to sit on that for a while as I'm pretty happy with the infrastructure as it stands and don't want to over-extend.

The title-winning team

GK - Saul Asplin-Rowley - Brought through to try and look to the future. Kept club record 20 clean sheets.

DR - Leighton Allard - Moved from DM to IWB as part of new look line-up. Solid.
DCR - Uwe Knoll - Great DC for this level. Former DR.
DCL - Alieu Jawara - Moving him from DL to DC has revolutionised my defence. Unbeatable in the air. Gambian international.
DL - Franck Kitoko - Was a bit harsh on him last intake. Sometimes you just need a solid lump of mass on the pitch and he's capable.

DM - Gareth Lynch - Really just filling in a space. A weak-link.
MCR - Lamar Mackey - Good DLP who is leaving on a free.
MCL - Alex Dyson - Star, all-action CM(At) who is also leaving on a free and is a devastating loss. 15 goals/12 assists.

AMR - Lamine Camara - Getting better every season at IF(At). 16 goals/22 assists.
AML - Aday Sanz - Another weak-link just filling a spot.
ST - Bekir Twigg - MacFarlane WHO!? 51 goals. FIFTY ONE GOALS. 51.

Youth Intake

Blah blah bunch of A's blah blah golden generation.

1838221445_Intake7.PNG.5e0e70852c7a3ddf4879ead51471a287.PNG

It's actually ok. Top two are good pick ups, and then about 5-6 more who will just bulk out my squad.

Next Season

We've got some really good players, the better ones would be fine for League Two, but losing our two starting CMs is going to hurt us bad. Just being in a new division is going to be fun.

599446343_Record7.thumb.PNG.36dc47e11e09e10500f77bd317ec9533.PNG

Congrats on promotion as well! You've developed some great players, much better than mine id say. Guess the benefit for me is its easier for me to hang onto my players. Hope you have better luck than me with sell ons when your midfielders leave.

Edit: just got down to your 9 mil windfall, damn that's a sweet fee! You're set up beautifully now. Very jealous!

Cardiff Corinthians - Season 2036/37 Review (s15)

I've joined the infographic party!

Season 15 was a very successful one for us.  We managed to qualify for the group stage of the Champions League for the first time and even managed to beat Anderlecht twice in the group to secure a 3rd place finish.  This meant we went through to the first knockout round of the Europa League where we met Fiorentina.  Unfortunately Fiorentina were just far too strong and we lost on aggregate.  As you'd expect, we made loads of money thanks to qualifying for the CL group and the couple of wins we managed, so our finances are really healthy.

....... and we also welcomed our first Andorran academy graduate this season (i.e. matching the manager).  I have a feeling he will become the next Ildefons Lima of the Andorra national team.

I had the same issue, I think in Turkey, where you get youth through but they have to be a minimum age to play.

Portugal and the scandinavian leagues have both been decent.

That's a shame. I had a fun save in Slovenia.

Maybe Inter Bratislava in Slovakia. Iceland is fun too.

I've had saves in Portugal, Hungary and Czech Rep, and I think I've dabbled with Slovakia and Iceland at one point. I've seen Sweden get completed a few years ago, Denmark might be an option, but Romania might just take the cake for now. Watch this space...

Also, does the Liga III become playable at some point, and if not what league am I eligible to manage in there?

ok, so i'm jumping back in! No random factor shenanigans this time, i'm going back to where i'm most comfortable. South America!!!

Uruguay, in fact! they got two playable divisions, with only 12 teams in Division 2 and only one relegation/promotion spot. So there really wasn't any choice after holidaying a year...

It'll be tough! look at those starting facilities, and there's no money. And the starting squad has only 13 players! so..... it might be a short challenge again!

(i found those kits on google, which is why they look kinda weird. i couldn't be bothered to make any!)

My bad, thought I saw it in a separate thread but I was mistaken. Was a toss up between Denmark and Romania due to their youth rating, but Romania just edged it. Should it not work out, Denmark will be my next destination.

Nice choice! Good luck. Maybe you can take a look at Viitorul Cluj. I have that club on my list, because of their decent facilities. Looks like a very good option to me.

Romania should be fun. Pretty sure the lowest league is non playable like in Norway and France and stays that way throughout, so you takeover one of the teams promoted from that league at the end of the first season.

I dont think Liga III is playable, just for you to have more realism. So liga II is the lower.

Uruguay - FC Rocha - Season 1!

ok so......

I thought only one team was relegated and the team that finished in 11th went into a play off. The rules say so and everything. but....

It's fair to say I'm struggling a little bit this year! Again it was morale that did for me in the end. It was a constant battle to get it out the gutter and by the time I managed it it was too late. Really frutrating but we go again!

I'll be back in Uruguay at some stage. I only lasted 1 season but it was quite good fun and the small leagues make it nice and fast

edit: I worked it out. The play-off place goes to the team with the lowest average number of points over 2 seasons, which was us. really unlucky!

@darren1983 Uruguay resets on January 1st!

Oof, yeah, you went down due to the average points over two seasons rule. It's something that is popular in South America. It's something you have to deal with in Colombia and Uruguay, you were just unlucky that it caught you out this time.

CSM Alexandria, located in a town of 45,000 people and a 2 hour drive from Bucharest. A relatively young club with a decent size stadium, which means history just waiting to be written. The best part? I now have 38 players to work with, more then three times what I had in Slovenia. Let's hope I can last a little longer here

I found a kit pack for Romania, which covers all three tiers of the Romanian tiers that are shown at the start on SortitoutSI. I'll link it for you.

Alright, so  I've elected to not update too often, but the 2025/2026 season was an impressive one from us, cup wise we exceeded all expectations.

image.thumb.png.f5471e1823de785709fba83661c9d1aa.png

This was the nathaniel MG Cup final, against Cefn Druids, I mean, what a win for us with our midfield playing the games of their lives! I couldn't have been happier saying that our league season wasn't going too well. We had come 6th in the last season and we looked on road to do significantly worse. We were looking at a potential 9th or 8th, but the cup win upped our morale, and after it we only lost 2 games, that we definitely could've won on a better day.

image.thumb.png.3ac1fd4eb7b4b52b0c379254c79bed9d.png

We also made it to the Welsh Cup final against TNS, we entered the game expecting to lose, but a miracle happened. We won! In a dominating performance, beating them in posession, and limiting them to only 2 shots, 0 on target. I will ecstatic!

image.thumb.png.f36a30d8af8e6a56be720794d2826d8e.png

We have a few rising stars in the team, who I'll make sure to update on, but we're going into 2026/2027 with games in the conference league, which is insane saying that we haven't been promoted from Cymru South(?) yet, I'm looking to get some money, upgrade our training facilities as I've had to promise players that in contracts and potentially go professional. Things are looking good for mumbles!

I have not sent any players out on loan. I also don't have a B team and will elect not to have one till I have gone through more youth intakes. Right now, my youth intake is meant to replace my aging real players wherever possible. Also, I try to limit the amount of players on my team, 44 total. My main team will have a starting XI and then backup XI and same with my U20s. I'm not there yet. It's just a lot to micromanage if you have to many players. It makes me want to wish for a select all praise all these players for training well or criticize them.

So do you only keep the 4.5/5 star youths and then introduce from the bench/rotate them in?

I tend to promote one or two who look the most promising, but don't feel I always pick the right ones. The rest I have in my U19s but only managed to get a couple out on loan, so I rely on them getting game time in the U19s - I think at present I probably have too many in the U19 squad.

Mumbles 2026/2027 Youth Intake

image.thumb.png.0b6e3b73f56be6994a593a8234d7051b.png

This is exactly what we needed, a great youth intake to bolster my first team and solidify my title charge in the last few games in the season, and a model citizen who'll be able to mentor the team in the future! Brilliant!

image.thumb.png.c08ea1c573dae1815325127483c7020b.png

Ben Griffiths, what a GOAT, looks great for being 15, his mental traits are shockingly good for this level and I love how he looks in defensive terms. He'll be a main team feature for the next few seasons easily.

image.thumb.png.d857b68418e6cc8de8fc74a050548816.png

Sadly, this guy is a left winger and we don't include him in the tactic, but he looks like he'd be a very good central or left midfielder, so I'll retrain him to be that, if he looks like something else please say!

image.thumb.png.aae814517f0d6224a818a931968098e6.png

I mean, he looks good, I can't really say much here, I'm looking forward to see how he develops.

image.thumb.png.c27841af8a6e60943cf6cffdefd01f64.png

Our future mentor, Samuel Jones, the definition of a central midfielder, we'll have to work on him a bit, but my god I'd be stupid to waste his talent.

a little bit of all really!

First two years nearly always just in youth team. Even the best I leave there unless I'm desperate. very rarely have i had 16/17 year olds who perform.

I tend to send players out on loan at 19/20 if they are nowhere near the first team. every now and then you get a nice surprise, and if nothing else a bit of extra transfer value.
