FM23_BLOG_1034x600_GRAPHIC_FM23 Announce News Story_UECL.jpg

Get closer to the beautiful game than ever before in Football Manager 2023, which will be available across an unprecedented array of platforms and devices from Tuesday, November 8th. Alongside releases on PC/Mac, Xbox, Nintendo Switch™, App Store and Google Play, Football Manager will also be debuting on Apple Arcade and on PlayStation 5.

FM will make its debut on home PlayStation consoles with Football Manager 2023 Console launching on PS5

Another exciting development will see our Touch series return to Apple devices after a year’s absence as Football Manager 2023 Touch joins the Apple Arcade catalogue. For the first time on iPhone, FM players will get to experience our acclaimed 3D Match Engine, which in turn will also be available to Apple Arcade subscribers on iPad, Mac and Apple TV. Full feature information and functionality will be revealed in October. In the meantime, you can learn more about Football Manager on Apple Arcade and visit Apple Arcade via the App Store to set up a reminder notification for when the game is available.

Newly renamed for this season to coincide with our maiden launch on PS5, FM23 Console will once again be available with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass for PC from Day One on November 8th. Xbox Game Pass for PC subscribers will also be able to experience the full simulation experience of FM23. Pre-order details for FM23 Console on all platforms will be revealed in early October.

New Features and Game Upgrades

New features and licensing updates for FM23 on PC/Mac will start to arrive in late September, while news of game upgrades and innovations across other platforms will be unveiled in October. Follow @footballmanager across social media to stay ahead of the game and sign up to FMFC, our exclusive free-to-join members’ hub, to receive exclusive game news ahead of the public announcements.

Early Access on PC/Mac

Pre-purchase FM23 (Steam/Epic/Microsoft Store) before November 8th from any participating digital retailer* to bag a 20% discount and the Early Access version of the game, which is typically available two weeks before the street release date.**

Fans purchasing physical copies of FM23 will notice that this year’s edition does not include a disc. Instead, every pack contains a unique code that, once redeemed, enables play via Steam, Epic Games or the Microsoft Store.

Removing the disc and notebook from this year’s edition, in addition to further refinements to our eco-packaging, means that the overall carbon footprint for FM23’s packaging is 47% lower than FM22’s. All in all, the overall gCO2 equivalent of the Football Manager packaging has fallen from 256 for Football Manager 2019 to just 66 for FM23.

Handheld titles return for the new season

Football Manager 2023 Mobile (iOS/Android) will kick off another successful campaign on November 8th.

FM23 Mobile will be available for pre-order on the App Store and pre-registration on Google Play from early October. By pre-ordering FM23 Mobile on iOS, you’ll own the game and be able to play immediately upon release. For Android users, FM23 Mobile pre-registration means you’ll be notified when the game is available.

Completing the line-up is Football Manager 2023 Touch on Nintendo Switch™, which will be available from November 8th.

Don’t Build a Team. Create a Dynasty

In Football Manager 2023, you get closer than ever to every aspect of the beautiful game, with feedback from everyone from the supporters that live and breathe every match to your board, scouts, players, and even opposition managers. Earn the backing of the fans by outsmarting your rivals and delivering success on the pitch.

*Early Access is available from SEGA-approved digital retailers only. Please check to see if the store you’re purchasing from is participating in the offer.
**The Early Access version may go live at different times on different platforms.

Does it mean that Mobile will have 3D?

and then here we are some of us who even play the full fat PC version in 2D :kriss:

while its true i dont think what FrazT said means FMM23 will have 3d, its also true the annoying "this will be the same game, copy paste with updated transfers" comments start even before the actual new features are shown every year.

Am i the only one who actually hope there will never be a 3d and instead the team will work on other features missing in the game

I agree. The full game is for 3d, touch provides a compromise between that and the simplified mobile version of the game. Each version has its place.

I'm more interested in how the game will look and handle the resolution change when you change device mid save. Like how will the game look/adapt to going from an iPad to iPhone. The iPad resolution is more squared off compared to the iPhone's more rectangular resolution. Also vice versa.

If this is with regards to FMT then please post in the correct forum for that product rather than the mobile one - with regards to FMM, the game has been on a myriad of devices for years and adapts automatically to the device its run upon using a slightly different UI for hi-resolution devices such as tablets vs small screen phones.

You can continue discussing FM Console & FM Touch within the correct forum as Marc suggests. It would be greatly appreciated if we could keep the chat related to FMM only. I know some of us are obviously fans of the game on multiple platforms and chatting about the game can easily go from one platform to the next. It's very easily done - I do it myself.

At this time of year there are normally tons of questions being asked about our upcoming titles and some of our devs take time out of their busy schedules to try and respond to those questions being asked within the community. Keeping the chat dedicated to FMM only will free up some of their time and allow them to focus on forum posts they can contribute towards.

Oh what i want to know is the "bug" with B teams that play in active leagues fixed? As for 5 or 6 years that problem is on coz the players dont progress they just stagnate?

While we're not talking about features - I can say I've done a lot of work to try and improve how b-team/reserve teams operate generally.

Change of subject but will there be an alternate skin this year similar to last year or just the one?

Embora não estejamos falando de recursos - posso dizer que fiz muito trabalho para tentar melhorar a maneira como as equipes b-team/reserve operam em geral.

Please tell me the AI is smarter?!... hiring better... The game loses a lot of competitiveness over the seasons, the AI renews the cast very badly. Looking forward to the game.

It's been improved, whether you find it challenging will depend on lots of factors though (both the transfer AI has been improved, but I've also tweaked the match engine and suchlike as well).

That's good news, in terms of functionality the game is fine, now these changes in the efficiency of the AI, maybe it doesn't attract the audience so much because it's invisible, but it's the best part for those who take the game deeper. obs: I also feel that AI doesn't develop young players well, it decreases the overall average quality of players over time. One thing that can be influencing a lot is the frequency with which good teams don't have good staff or even are always incomplete. Teams with a good structure in the game should hire good staff as a priority, because the first thing we humans do (easy and fast) is this and then we have already started with an advantage in relation to the technical and physical development of the players, as well as the medical (prevent/treat). Anyway, AI should organize the club, in general, better than human players, especially in big clubs. Besides, this is my favorite game and it's worth days and days of fun.

How about early access for mobile? Or can we expect the yearly bugs on release version?

We can't do open-beta releases for mobile platforms because of how they're handled by their platform-owners, we do closed beta testing involving people from the community who are proven to give good critical feedback.

(these people have to sign NDA's and for obvious reasons we don't talk a lot about the system involved - if you want to have a chance of being offered such a role next version then please post constructive comments etc. regarding the game, issues and such)

I'm dying to play new version. I've been waiting for almost 2 months now. Can't you release it this weekend pretty please? Lol. These are things I'd like to see:

- there'll be no more IFs standing next to strikers waiting for anyone to pass him most of the time just like poachers instead of getting involved with build ups. I'd like to see them running to space when the ball is nearby, not stay there whole time

wasted GK short distribution when playing 3 atb

- players send the ball immediately to forward when I'm playing slower tempo and aiming possession (even when there's plenty rooms to pass to others)

- playmakers should act as magnets and always try to find spaces for himself so anyone can pass the ball to him

- there should be a way to "fix" team dynamics for old players that can't be mentored. For example, I'm managing Internazionale Milan and Brozovic has always been my favorite player. He has low professional and tends to cause problems like overconfident, dislikes others or even fight them, easily build red relationship with others. It's sad that there's no way to change him.

Simply put, I wanna see better ME. I'd like to see more depth tactical instructions such individual instructions. Anything. I know what you guys intended, but these days we can't underestimate mobile games. It's been a decade since I moved on from PC and consoles (I'm still playing Nintendo Switch tho). Again, I'd love to see the release date faster lol.
