S5 - Season review

Yet again we complete domestic treble. We have dominated the league like never before and we managed to reach knockout of Champions League

Again, very dominant performance in the cup, We have had few easy oponents until we reached semi final.

For the first time this save, we have managed to get out of CL group stages into knockouts. The higghlights are definitly the wins against Bayern and Juve in the group stages.

National Team

Unfortunately Poland didn't manage to qualify for 2026 WC I am waiting for Poland position to become available so that I can apply, but looks like i iwll have to wait few more seasons.

Pogon Szczecin - 24/25 2nd

Pogon has had a good run until 4th round where they lost agaisnt Partizan. They did beat Bate though. 

Slask Wroclaw - 24/25 3rd

Slask did really well to qualify to group stages and also managed to get some coefficient point towards rankings. 

 

Jagiellonia Bialystok - 24/25 4th

Jagiellonia have managed to get to 4th round this season around, where they were beaten by Belgian side. They still made progress comparing to last year.

Decisions Decision Decisions 

I keep having a problem where I can't upgrade the youth facilities. For last 1.5 seasons, the options doesn't even appear in board requests. I am aware that this could potentially be due to all stadium expansions, or the board just don't want to be the best  

With my contract running out at the end of next season. I have decided that, if I will not be able to improve the youth facilities next season, I will not be renewing the contract, and moving on to a new club. 
If that happens, this does not mean that I will never return to Warta. I might do after a while.  Warta is well established teamwise and financially that they should be able to get CL groups every season and also Win Ekstraklasa easily. We now need another team that will be able to challenge them and subsequently build more league reputation as now we are allowed 2 teams in CL.

Super Cup

We have gave Zaglebie quite a beating in the super cup match and we make it 5 in the row now.

What a couple of months ! we won all 6 games and only conceded 1 goal! It looks like the league is well and truly dominated by us b a mile. 

 

 

Champions League

Yet again we managed to qualify to group stages ! It is really good for national Coefficients. We have been drawn from 3rd seed which is an improvement. I think we have quite a chance to get out from group stages into knockouts 

 

Teams in European Competitions

We had 4 other teams and only one of them managed to get group stages and the one who had easiest path to get there. Wisla has fallen through to EL playoffs and got beaten by 1 goal to then qualify to ECL groups. Elsewhere, disappointing

Transfer Window. 

What a painful window !! we have lost our starting 3 mids and a striker ! some players I wanted to move on so that we would make space for some younger ones, but still. 

 

Outs

Quite a lot of players left, however we have raked in over 130M, what a result.

 

He developed into quite a good player, he wanted to leave last winter but stopped that. Didn't stay in his way this year as we have other options.

 

 

We only had Barbosa for a season, but managed to get 5M profit on him, and he wasn't a starter last season. 

 

Oivind was a first choice rotation last season. I knew that we have better youths so decided to cash in on him. 6M profit

 

Kacper was one of our best players in past seasons, however I prefered Soumare instead of him last season and he was kicking up a fuss. Decided to let him go as wanted to give other kids a chance. 

 

We bought Garri last season to be a backup LB, he wasn't playing really well, This is the first player that we have made a loss on. 

 

He was our first choice in the first two seasons we had him, last season he was more of a rotation player. he is already 28 so decided to let him go 

 

 

Really gutted to let Zeljko go He was our best wonderkid we had. We only managed to receive 24M for him, but this should have been at least double that. 

 

 

Ismail has been kicking up huge fuss about getting a transfer move. I decided to let him go and cash in. 

 

 

Mauro was developing really well since we had him, he was being better and better every season. but 28M profit on him is really decent  

 

Franco has been a rotation player for us most of the time. I don't think that he developed at all since we signed him so decided to get the little profit on him 

 

A bit gutted about Valeri as he didn't really want to leave, but other clubs met his release clause so had no other choice. We made a TINY profit on him

Ok, so we haven't went crazy and spent all the money that we have gathered, but still we have spend £40M which is a considerable amount for a polish team to spend.

What a result against Chelsea ! Also happy with the draw against Real Sociedad. Shakhtar next, who has been thrashed 8-1 by Chelsea.

Indeed, I am really enjoying it, and to be fair can't wait for new club and start building it from (scratch)  
We have become a dominant force in Poland quite quickly because the league is so unstable. for first few seasons top 4 teams would change every season (except us). 

This will purely be dependant on what is available. I am happy to drop a league if something interesting comes up. I think I will aim at a bigger fanbase club this time like Gornik who are in 2nd tier.  Whatever I choose, I think it will be very difficult to win the league with Warta being so strong now. 

If the next club will have decent facilities thats a bonus, but I will not be basing my decision on that.

We are no longer unbeaten. so there goes our invincible season out the window  we ded however pick the form back up, although Rildo got injured.

 

Polish Cup

Rotated team wins against 3rd tier Resovia, Playing against Rakow in 3rd round and we can get a payback for killing our dreams of unbeaten season. 

 

Champions League

Great result against Shakhtar and we are in 2nd place in the group. qualification is still possible but Europa League is a must.

Wisla still has no points on the board, and all other teams have 6 points each. I thinkthey still have a slight chance, but giving their form I will not be counting on it. If they finish 3rd they might get a chance to get to Conference League

A perfect start to 2027 where we win 4 out of 4. With 11 games left we have massive 22 gap above the 2nd place. Looks like the league is already wrapped up.

Great result against Man City at home ! However I still think that this is our last round. Man City are too strong.

Again, all teams in europe wanted to unsettle all of our players..... We managed to sell a few and also buy few prospects.

The good thing about this is that none of the players have been a first team player. they were more of a rotation ones. We managed to profit on each player

A  perfect month ! we have been rotating the team with youths and still managing to win! We have a shocking 31 point lead above the second placed team.

With a great and comfortable win we advance to what looks like Poznan Derby final ! Really happy that Lech managed to get to the final.

I was hoping that we can beat Porto as we have done that in group stages few seasons ago. Now we are one step away from CL final ! This is craaaaazy.

Winning Polish Cup without conceding a goal and most of the games played with rotated team this just shows how weak Polish football is. 

 

European competitions 

This is history in the making. First ever polish team to win Champions League. And also my first time to win Champions League with polish team ever. I am not sure if I will be able to achieve this again in this save. So happy about this.

I think going to a team with low facilities and building the facilities up to the max would really help Poland reach #1

I absolutely agree  however I don't want to get to the position where the board will be blocking facilities upgrades due to stadium expansions etc. Looks like with Warta, the option to further upgrade youth facilities appeared since we gained 4 star reputation.  However I have already set my mind on the move as Poland needs another team who can do well in Europe, and I think that Warta, with the finances that we have gathered will be able to stay in europe for good few seasons. 
Whatever team I choose the objective is the same, max out the facilities if possible.

National Team

Poland managed to get promoted to Division A in Nations League what was up in the air until the last game. They are also on path for Euro 2028, they are currently 2nd but have one more game played then the opponents.

Coeff Updates

Our CL Win contributed massively for us to move up to 10th in Coeff table. This means that we will have a team straight in group stages in 28/29 season ! The league reputation moved up to 12th, however we are still a 3 star league.

It was very successfull time at Warta.

Due to winnig CL last season, Warta has been drawn to group stages straight away where they will be playing Chelsea for the second season in the row. 

Rakow Czestochowa - 2nd in season 26/27

After a good effort against Sporting, Rakow drops straight to Europa League group stages. I think they can hope for 3rd place finish. 

Slask Wroclaw - 3rd in season 26/27

Slask has won their playoff game in Europa League, and qualified to group stages

Piast Gliwice - 4th in season 26/27

Piast has been eliminated in 4th quali round

 

Lech Poznan - 5th in season 26/27

Lech has been knocked out in 3rd quaki round.

Rakow Czestochowa 

Rakow Czestochowa it is  then as a next chapter!. I was also considering Widzew who have lower rep but bigger stadium and funbase. 
So Rakow.. in 90s they were playing across top 2 tiers of Polish football without any success. at the beginning of 21st century they have had few back to back relegations and ended up in tier 4 of polish pyramid. 

In 2016 ownership change has happened, and since then the club has started to climb up the ladder. IRL they have been in top flight 3 seasons, and two of which they have finished top 3. At the moment they are one of the best managed clubs in Poland and definitely the one that has its' own style and direction of where its going. One of the culprits is its stadium. At the moment 5.5K facility which cannot be upgraded, but apparently after few years of fighting with council, they have been given some grounds where they can build the new stadium.

S7 - December 2027

Ekstraklasa 

We can only account for results from 7th of Dec, so Lech game was still either caretaker or previous manager. Since we arrived, we managed to win two games. I am expecting this team to be decent since they were 2nd last year. We are 3 points of European places and 6 points off second place. Everything still up for grabs in the league . Maybe except first place.. 

 

Europa League

So to recap. Rakow lost to Sporting in 3rd round of CL quali what got them straight into EL groups. They lost all games except the last one which I played as a manager. This has managed to bump us to 3rd place in the group and qualify for Conference League where we will play LASK. In total, the club has played 8 games in european competitions and only won 1 game and still managing to play in Spring :O

Due to winnig CL last season, Warta has been drawn to group stages straight away where they will be playing Chelsea for the second season in the row. They win 4 games to top the group and are playing against Milan next. I am really happy to see that they are self sufficient after selling the best players in the summer  

 

Slask Wroclaw - 3rd in season 26/27

Slask has won their playoff game in Europa League, and qualified to group stages, from there it is quite sad, after 6 games they have failed to score a single goal. Proving again that Polish football is still far behind, and the only reason that they are there is because Warta has raised the coefficients. 

Piast Gliwice - 4th in season 26/27

Piast has been eliminated in 4th quali round

 

Lech Poznan - 5th in season 26/27

Lech has been knocked out in 3rd quaki round.

Facilities in Polish Clubs - January 2028

This is top 40 in Poland in terms of facilities combined with Junior Coaching. When we took over Warta, they didn't even make the top 40. At the moment Rakow is 32nd. I will see if this is trackable in any way to see if other clubs are making any progress at all.

February started well. We have had quite tough schedule where we played LASK-Slask-LASK-wisla. Overall we are still in the fight for european spots next season. 

 

Europa Conference League

Managed to get passed LASK in first round which is great ! Atalanta however is on different level so I am not sure if we will be able to pass them.

Warta lost their first leg away to Milan, Hoping that they can turn things around at home.

Winter Transfer Window. 

We have made some improvements in the team, mainly youth players.

Bono as our first choice keeper, but already 33.The second choice Pavlovic has got very similar abilities. 

 

Didn't really want to so sell Ben, but he wanted to leave and 1.4M is quite decent money in my opinion. 

 

INS

Nicola is a bit of a punt here.  looks ok as a GK at 17 but is Sanmarinese and already 21 caps for U21s 

 

We didn't have a proper striker, really like his physicals I hope that he can develop technically. 

 

Very decent metals for a 16 year old. Want to see how he develops in the future. 

 

Good mentals, very bad technicals but I hope that he can still develop and that we can profit. 

 

Really happy with this pickup. We might have overpaid for him, but hope that it is going to pay back.

Ekstraklasa 

We seemed to have caught up with the pack. places 2-6 are split by 4 points with 7 games left. CL place is still up for grabs. I hope that any european competition should be in the reach. A bit dissapointed with a draw against Jagiellonia, but we are struggling with a youth rule atm where we don't have any quality youths to cover different areas of the pitch. We have Osinski who is the future, but he was injured over the past few weeks. 

 

Europa Conference League

After exceptional home game against Atalanta we are through to quarter finals ! We will play against Besiktas. In my eyes Besiktas are weaker team then Atalanta so can we continue the run and advance further ? This would be sensational.

A perfect month ! We managed to beat Warta, but we have been a worse team. Our keeper had game of his life and had MOTM. We sit in 2nd place atm. with one point above 2nd. and 6 points above the 6th place. 3 games left and seems like the top of the table started drifting.

We couldn't use the goal advantage at home and lost after even game. I think we still got further  in the competition then expected.

We finish on very high 2nd place, which is amazing considering we took over on the 12th in December. This is 2nd place second time in a row for Rakow. Lets firm it up next season.

Disappointing result for Rakow this season. Not on my account however. 

 

European competitions 

We took over before second APOEL game, just to salvage something out of the european season. With the new broom syndrome we managed to reach Quarter finals of ECL
