We seem to pick up a bit of form now. We have game in hand and currently 1 point behind top. Will see how it goes with playing every 3 days with CL. 

Champions League

Exceptional run in CL. I was not expecting to get to the groups at all. We have tough group now so I think I will prioritize the league now. 

 

Polish Teams in Europe

Shame, shame shame. With having 4 teams in qualifying at the beginning of august only Warta went into any group stages. Lets hope that next year will be better for those teams.  

Pogon - 21/22 Cup winner

As expected, Pogon didn't manage to win against Anderlecht and dropped out in 3rd Qualifying round. 

Legia  - 21/220 2nd in the League

Disappointing loss against Qairat, Legia drop out from ECL in 3rd Qualifying Round

 

Rakow - 21/22 3rd in the League 

Rakow passed Ki this month, but Koln was way too strong. they drop out in 4th Qualifying round. was soo close.

A good set of results bumps us up to 1st place! Legia result I am particularly happy about. Looks like the rotated team can somewhat handle the league. What is happening to Lech though in relegation places  

 

Champions League

As expected we are struggling in CL. However we have drawn against Benfica and they also lost both games. Maybe a slight chance to reach Europa League ?

11 out of 15 points this month is not a bad result for this month. With 1 game in hand we are 2 points clear at the top. Looking strong to retain the title this season.

Comfortable win against 2nd tier Motor Lublin, in the next round we play against Sokol Ostroda who are also in 2nd tier.

With 1 game left we are already out of any european competitions. This was expected, but we managed to gain some points for qualifying to groups and also tons of money to help development.

Ekstraklasa

2 games over the last two months and both won. we are still 5 points clear at the top at half way point of the season. 

 

Puchar Polski 

Barely passed Sokol Ostroda. We have won after extra time. Legia awaits in 3rd round.

 

Champions League

A surprise draw against Atletico, gives us a little cash bonus at the end of European journey. 

 

World Cup 2022

World cup was won by Italy who played Mexico in the final. Poland didn't manage to get out of groups  

 

End of Year Awards

We have won manager of the year again. and Szymon Wlodarczyk wan player of the year  On the other side we might lose him as Hertha Berlin is knocking to sign him, unsettling him in the process...

Perfect month in the league this month !  It's going really well. Szymon Wlodarczyk is on fire scoring 4 in 3 games.

We are unstoppable in the league at the moment. With 10 games left we have 10 points cushion over 2nd placed Rakow, who we have beaten 3:2 in direct encounter. We are looking good to retain the title

Youth Intake, 

It looks like we have few apparently top talents ! 

 

This is actually looking exciting. we have 3 players with a PA over 100. (02A) Krzysztalowic z should be able to play on Ekstraklasa level easily in the future. I am happy that there is quite a few players with decent determination that have come through the ranks. 

 

 

(02A) Krzysztalowic z seems like is a DM, but I see him more as a defender then mid due to his deficiency in passing and vision. I think that is where I will be training him. He is 15 and already 182CM so hopefully he will still grow a bit ? 

 

(02B) Poczwardowski is a standard CD with terrible passing abilities. don't think that he is well suited to a be a wing back.

Poland has 1 representative in the NxGen award, Kacper Kozlowski at 29th  who has bright future in front of him. Lets see if we can improve these numbers in the future.

2 wins and 2 loses this month. Lost to Lech and Legia and both were very even games however they edged us. We did however win against KGHM Zaglebie who are there and therebouts the top3 of the league. Lucky for us Rakow have also dropped some points. We are still 9 points clear at the top with 6 games left. Eyes on retaining the title now.

S2 - April 2023

With a win over Jagiellonia we have done it ! We have retained the Polish Ekstraklasa ! .This is massive. This means that we get another shot at qualifying to the CL groups, which will be massive Coefficient boost and financial boost for the club! I am somewhat worried that we will have busy transfer window.  Since then I have been rotating the team playing some youths, hencewhy we lost to Bruk Bet.

A very successful season, highlighted with a domestic treble. Comfortable league win and advancement to the group stages of Champions League was great !

We took loads of money this season due to CL group stage. Overall this helped us to improve the club in multiple ways.

Wow the board has really trusted us with money. they trippled our wage budget and gave us all money from the bank for transfers. 

 

It was mentioned last season that new stadium is planned. But now it is official. Next season we will be playing in home town, Poznan.

Poland on European Stage in 2022/2023

National Team 

National team managed to stay in Division A of Nations League, which is great. I think they could have got the best result in World Cup against Mexico. Fun fact on here is that IRL they also play first game against Mexico. Lets hope they do better then in the game.

I think they also have strong chances to go to Euros.  I think Scotland are the main opponents here. 

 

 

Polish Teams in Europe

Warta Poznan - 21/22 Champion

We have done amazing in the Champions League by qualifying to Group Stages. We did crap in Champions League but we  had classy opponents and with our team and budget I think we can be happy with 2 points. 

 

Legia  - 21/22 2nd

Knocked out in 3rd round of Conference League Qalification. They did well to beat Dinamo Minsk, however Qairat edged them to advance further.

Rakow - 21/22 3rd

Knocked out in 4th round of Conference League Qalification. Set of nice results, a bit unlucky that they met a top 5 league team in 4th round. Was really close to groups. 

Pogon - 21/22 Cup Winner 

Knocked out in 3rd  round of Conference League Qualification. I expect that Anderlecht is much better team then Pogon, So if they were to pass them it would be a massive result. I think again that they were a bit unlucky with the draws. 

 

Little progress in terms of coefficient. We have fixed last year failures I guess. Lets move forward now.

S3 -2023/24 Season Preview

Nice progress, Bookies now thing we are 3rd force in the league ! which is great. Legia are still favourites to the title even though they missed it two seasons in the row. On the other end, Gornik comes back to league after a season in 2nd tier. and Also Podbeskidzie and Zaglebie Sosnowiec got promoted

After a very difficult start we are starting to pick up form. However we are already 8 points behind Wisla Krakow who is sensational so far going 5 games unbeaten.  

 

 

Champions League

We have been yet again, sensational in CL qualifying. We've beat the likes of Ludogorets, Sparta Prague and Astana to get to group stages. The group stage draw yet has been very unlucky.

Well Rakow have ended their adventure very quicky. Seems like the should have beaten the greeks. 

Legia - 22/23 3rd

Piast did really well in getting to 4th round, Unfortunately they have lost against Slovan Bratislava and will not be playing group stages.

S3 - Summer Transfer Window

The board has trusted us with all the money from the bank, we didn't spend it all, however I think we have made some significant improvements. I signed lots of young players which I think have some potential in the future, but nothing is certain. We have also made some cash sales so we are only about 2.9M negative.

Michal Jakobowski left on a free, He didn't feature much under my tennure. 

 

Dragan Bojat, sined for free last season and now left for 725K. He was a right back rotation for us and averaged 7.25 score. 

 

Jayson Papeau, He was very decent for us over past 2 seasons. Last season he was shining with 7 goals and 8 assists. We received 1.7M which is quite decent. 

 

 

Niilo Maenpaa, played really well for us in first season. Last season was more of a rotation player. Happy to receive 625K for him.

I will split these into  the ones that are included into the first team and ones that moved to u18. 

 

Frist team

Charlie McArthur, I think this will be a flop as just noted his det. was free so maybe we can get some money in the future. 

 

Kacper Chodyna, after Bojat left he will be first choice right back. very offensive player and also Polish. 

 

Przemyslaw Wisniewski, I was planning to sign him last season, but we didn't have money to pay or for wages. Our financial situation changed a bit so I am happy to have signed him. 

 

Jacek Rosolek, This is a gem for me. only 16k paid, 18 yo who already replaces Jayson Papeau. Really excited to see how he develops 

 

Mitar Ergelas, I am re-training him to be our left back. We had a vacant spot as we didn't really had a replacement for Vienna. 

 

Ibrahima Soumare, our scouts found this guy. 16 yo. and already so good. I think he has huge potential. Will jump into rotation in first team. 

 

Cesare Casadei, Luizao and Van De Perre, all of these are extra midfield options as I felt like we were lucking depth. Especially Tralka being 39 now and Maneppa and Papeau leaving.

Better couple of months. We have beat Wisla Krakow who were 1st at the time and didn't lose a game until they played against us. We currently 9 points off the top. We are about 1/3 into the season, lets hope that they can drop some points so we can try and retain the title. 

 

Champions League

Well, Champions League is not going as planned. We have really tough group and we are way off the level. I think we will not be able to reach even Europa League.

Legia is not doing so well in the group stages, I was sort of expecting that they will be able to beat Luzern, but still result against Genk is decent. Qualification is still up for grabs.

S3 - November 2023

Almost perfect set of results in November. Really happy with winning Poznan Derby Heavily rotated Podbeskidzie game, hence the result. We sit 3rd in the league with 7 points off the top. Looks like top teams are crackling as we are closing 12 point gap. Looks like Gornik will be relegated yet again.

 

Puchar Polski

I think I have missed previous update on the cup. We have succesfully passed first two rounds and will meet Termailica in 3rd, who we just smashed 5 to nothing in the league. 

 

Champions League

This is quite bad. We still have a slight chance to advance, but will have to win against Porto by at least 3 goals. Seems impossible.

They are uterly bad. Losing almost all games, not getting points to rankings. Last game against Sparta Prague does not change a thing as Legia is already knocked out and Sparta qualified

We had both training facilities and youth facilities finished and now youth recruitment upgrade kicks in. This should bump our youth recruitemnt to 17

OMG !!!! We have done it ! What a comeback from 2.0 down to winning 5.2.  Also, WTF happened with yellow cards though. Yellow cards galore it seems, 14 yellow cards in total. 

 

It's worth mentioning this player. Pece, the young agile spaniard, who we signed for free.  Has bagged himself 15 CL goals in 13 outings, also already beat his scoring record in the league from last year.

Decent month. We have lost to Slask however to then beat Cracovia at home. We are still 7 points behind top spot and it is starting to get tight at the top. Legia is having a nightmare season. Is it because of Conference League plays ? 

 

Champions League

An amazing result against Porto sends us to the Europa League !!

 

Europa League Draw

We have been drawn against Hajduk Split, I think we are very capable of beating them, We have beat Porto in the end ! Bayern however look like clear favourites to win EL.

Thanks ! First time in years there will be polish representative in European competitions in Spring lol I don't think any team managed to do so in my save, and last time it probably happened was Legia in 2016/2017 season.

S3 - January & February 2024

Ekstraklasa

A perfect month of February in the league scoring 14 goals in 3 and only conceding 2. These games however were against lower half teams. We closed the gap to 4 points to the top as Cracovia seems to have dropped some points along the way.

 

 

Europa League

Narrow victory at home allows us to advance to second round where we will meet Inter. I think our european journey will end here.

2024 Winter Transfer Window. 

It is a bit wired with transfer window as generally top 5 leagues the transfer window is in January and ours is in February, so essentially we have 2 month transfer window every winter. 

We had some first teamers leave and we purchased some young  talent. 

OUTS 

The two notable outings are Brian Gyan and Piotr Starzynski, both sold with profit and giving us 10Mil in the process. others are just loans mostly of players who will not make it to first team.

 

 

 

INs 

So we have spent almost all the money that we received for the above two players. I think that some might not make it to first team ever, but lets see what we have. 

 

Chavez is a keeper who we signed last year, since he turned 18 he appeared in our team however he is still on loan at his previous club. He will join us in a year time, so hopefully we can keep Pinto until then. 

 

Klomp, I am not sure if he will ever make it to first team, but he was cheap. If we can build him via loans and then sell with profit I will be happy. 

 

Gronlund, really happy with this pickup at 16 he already looks really well. He is in U18 atm, but next season will be introduced to first team I think.

 

Ege Sakarya, This is the star of the transfer window. We paid a bit for him, he will be replacing Piotr Starzynskim but look at him, at 16 he is already great. He jumps straight into first team rotation.

 

Bednarski, Not sure how far he is going to develop so a little bit of a punt this one. good determination and workrate might help to build him. 

 

 

Dolani is another 16 yo who has very decent mentals. I am hoping to give him a chance next season when he develops a little more. 

 

Bringedal has been added to first team as 4th choice CB for development. very good mentals so hoping that he can develop well in the near futrure. 

 

Gillespie is our last signing of this window. Very talented and pacy forward with great determination. He will go into our striker rotation as I want to get rid of Ilic in the next transfer window. 

 

Finances 

Our finances look really decent. however board has yet again reject youth facilities improvement and my next coaching badge

Looks like best intake so far. we have top players with 130+ PA which is good. Will see how far they can get. I must say that they look very raw atm but Kozajda has amazing Det and Work rate.

S3 - March 2024

Lost against Legia at the beginning of the month, after which Cracovia pulled 7 point gap again. We managed to win all our other games and shrink the gap to 5 points. If we did win against Legia our gap would we 2 points with a game against Cracovia ahead. I hope that this will not cost us championship. 8 games left and the chase is on. 

 

Europa League 

I tried in the first game but rotated in the second game as given up on going further on. Expectedly this was our exit for european competitions.

Again had to rotate as we were playing games every 2 days, We drop out of the cup, so now all focus onthe league.

Well, We are close to losing our title this season. 5 games left and 5 points gap to top. Good thing is that Cracovia plays against Wisla in the run in to the end

S3 - April 2024

After loss against Zaglebie the gap went up to 8 points. We are keeping pressure and Cracovia lost couple of games to bring the gap down to 2 points. 4 games left and 2 point gap. Cracovia and Wisla yet to play each other. No space for mistakes now !

Youth recuritment now maxed out. Facilities left to complete before we move to next club.

S3 - Season review

Ektraklasa

Cracovia has choked up at the end of the season. We win the league on equal points with Wisla. Gornik gets relegated yet again. What is funny is that every season we almost have different teams that represent us in european qualifications, there is no consistency at all. Scary end of the season but we managed to retain the title

I think we have done the minimum here. I am not really disappointed with dropping from the cup in QFs as we managed to retain the league title.

 

European competitions 

I am really happy with our run in europe this season. We have managed to achieve 3rd in CL groups and then go past first round.

National Team

I think that the team did well to qualify to Euros, however a draw against Azerbaijan is not too great. They have dropped again in the rankings.

Warta Poznan - 22/23 Champion

I think we have made one more step this season. We have qualified to CL to get the money, to then finish 3rd ahead of Porto ! and qualify to EL knockout stage. This is pretty good for the stage we are at.

 

 

Rakow  - 22/23 2nd

Disappointing qualifications from Rakow, they lost both legs of Second Quali round and their only round. They collected big fat 0 coeff points

Legia - 22/23 3rd

I think Legia did really well to qualify to conference league groups, beating Slavia Prague in the process. In the groups it went really bad where they only won one game and in the effect been knocked out form comptition.  

Piast - 22/23 4th

Really good try to get to group stages. A bit unlucky in the last round but still good effort giving that they started from 1st round.
